The Merrion Hotel

From the moment we arrived at the Merrion, and all through our three night stay, the service was impeccable; the Cellar Bar was quite romantic; the tea rooms with fireplaces offer a wonderful respite and the location makes traveling around Dublin very easy. It was a perfect visit. .

We had a fantastic stay at The Merrion hotel. Staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food so enjoyable. The chocolates were divine! We loved No. 23 cocktail bar with its roaring fire. A great night’s sleep and a plus having a swimming pool.

Each employee at the Merrion will bend over backwards to help you out. They also do a great job in making you feel comfortable. They were all extremely friendly. The location is perfect for walking to all the Dublin attractions. If you stay here you will not be disappointed!

We stayed in the Merrion on 24 and 25 of January to take advantage of their five star steal and celebrate the anniversary of our engagement. We stayed in the Merrion when we got engaged. There is nowhere better in the world to celebrate a special occasion. The rooms, the bar, the restaurant and staff are the best in the world. The food in the garden room never fails to impress and the wine list is excellent.The Merrion is my little piece of Paradise on earth and I have already booked to go back in October!!

This is an excellent hotel. Top notch service. Every single member of staff makes you feel special. Lots of nice little unexpected touches. Not cheap but definitely well worth the cost. I’d come back in a heart beat and will recommend with enthusiasm.

This is the perfect hotel. Luxury, loveliness, and lots of fun. Our room was so pretty--sea glass green and cream, large marble bathroom, and the comfiest of beds. Terrific turndown service and clean as a whistle. Staff throughout the hotel were wonderful. Two years ago my husband gave me a significant bracelet that I never took off once, but little did I realize one day that it must have fallen off in the room, and when we returned that evening, there it was on my bedside table. I would have freaked if I had realized during the day that it was missing. But how kind and honest was the room cleaner to have found it and placed it where I would find it. Also a shout out to the food service. Everything from tea to dinner was amazing. And stunning, interesting artwork is everywhere--many pieces by artists represented in the National Gallery of Dublin, just down the street. Other must-see spots are close by too, including Trinity College, Oscar Wilde's home, and many lively bars and restaurants. One small snafu--the private car we ordered from the concierge on Saturday night to take us to the airport on Monday afternoon somehow fell through the cracks, but being a belt-and-suspenders person, I double checked on the order Monday morning, was told of the mishap, and an order was placed in time.

A stay at the Merrion Hotel is simply sublime.... 5 star that lives up to it's rating. The common areas are art-filled and stunning! The accommodations are large and beautiful, all lovingly maintained. The pool/spa areas were quite a respite in the chilly air of February. There is almost no reason to leave the hotel as the food and beverage offerings are as fabulous as the hotel itself! Farm to table fresh, delicious and beautifully presented at each meal. Their high tea...Art Tea is not to be missed! All of this is supported by one of the finest teams in hospitality anywhere to be found! Professional, warm and engaging at every turn! They make every guest feel important and well-cared for. The Merrion is a standout! Don't miss staying here.

We can't say enough about the Merrion Hotel in terms of the friendly and helpful staff, the warm hospitality on the part of all, the perfect location, and the quality of the facility. They also have the best High Tea in Dublin, as well as a Michelin 2-star restaurant in the same building. The restaurant staff, the chamber maids, the concierge desk people and the front desk were all first rate. Additionally, we were at the hotel during the worst winter storm ever recorded in Ireland, and had no issues in the building. When the Dail is in session, traffic is diverted however the hotel arranged for taxis and gave us good directions. We could walk to concerts, the theatre and shops all over central Dublin and there are a wealth of places to eat nearby. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom first rate. We stayed for 8 nights and would do so again without hesitation.

On arrival very unenthusiastic welcome , bedroom very underwhelming for a 5 stars hotel; white plastic sockets are unforgivable in a hotel that trades as 5 stars. At breakfast the staff not very helpful or accommodating and the breakfast selection was not only limited but quality of produce was poor. Unfortunately a very disappointing experience in the Merrion Hotel and we would not return.
