The perfect luxury stay in Venice! We can't wait to return!

We had the most magical stay at the Hotel Danieli! We stayed for Carnaval. The service was so top notch, at every turn. Our room was standard, but the decor was fabuous and so well appointed. The hotel bar cannot be missed - try the litchi martini! The food was very nice. We weren't able to try the rooftop restaurant, or the airport transfers (too $$ for our budget) but we can't wait to return.
Pros: Location, architecture, rooms, service
Cons: Pricing of services

Makes everyone feel welcome and special
We came by for a cocktail, inspired by my wife's love of Venice and Hotel Danieli's reputation. Even though we were there for one drink, the service was exceptional, treating us valued guests, and the cocktails delicious, even as we sipped them incredibly slowly to enjoy the beautiful view. Grazie.

We had a great experience of visiting Venice in winter and staying at Hotel Danieli. It has kept it is unique touch of outstanding luxury bespoke service where the waiters, concierge , reception and all the team are in the same level. We personally had amazing quality of service from Susana (reception), Heitor (concierge), paolo (waiter ) and everyone we spoke with. Heitor has the best tips , very friendly, always trying to elevate our experience . He recommended amazing places and helped us to book it too. Looking forward to returning to Danieli soon

An amazing stay with stunning views and exceptional service
The service was outstanding, and the hotel itself is absolutely stunning! The Sunday brunch was exceptional, and the rooftop terrace offered the most breathtaking view of the canal in all of Venice. I would definitely return and stay here again
Most disappointing experience ever, a restaurant that doesn’t care about allergies and food restrictions
This kind of restaurant should have the level of service that goes with prices. It’s written 5* hotel at the entrance and the restaurant just uses the name of Danieli to make people believe they’re worth it. But this is far from the reality… My fiancé booked a table in...
This kind of restaurant should have the level of service that goes with prices. It’s written 5* hotel at the entrance and the restaurant just uses the name of Danieli to make people believe they’re worth it. But this is far from the reality…
My fiancé booked a table in this fancy restaurant for my 30th birthday, one month in advance, so we can celebrate this in a proper way and it ended up being the most disappointing experience ever.
When the confirmation (and deposit) were made, the hostess contacted us to know if there was any food restrictions or allergies which we communicated to her by email directly. Even though I suffer from severe allergies (14 different ingredients), she noted all that down and confirm that the menu and dishes will be adapted to my restrictions. We were reassured and know as well that this is standard procedures in this kind of establishment.
Surprise when we arrived for my birthday dinner : there is only one starter and one main dish I could eat and none of them were something I wanted to eat (beef tartar and veal liver…). The manager seemed pissed when we talked to him about my allergies, saying that he’s not responsible for my allergies and there’s no way they can adapt the menu for me.
N.B. : the menu on their website doesn’t mention ANY allergens, NO WHERE.
Even though my fiancé organized all that a month in advance, here we were, up against it : either I had to chose the only starter and dish that wouldn’t send me to the hospital (but wasn’t something I was craving for at all…) or leave the restaurant with no plan B and have them charge us €100 of deposit we did to confirm the booking (so basically just give them €100 for free).
We would have accepted to go somewhere else if from the very beginning they told us that it’s not possible to adapt the menu or any dishes according to my allergies. And it would have been completely fine. But this is not what has been said at all!
The dishes we chose and HAD to eat (because there was NO OTHER CHOICE or I would’ve ended up at the hospital) were not even good.
The manager didn’t find any solution, no discount was offered, or even just a drink, nothing! He didn’t even offered a solution!
This is just unacceptable for this kind of establishment and honestly, we will never come back here. Don’t bother waste your money over there, you can’t even have the standard service a fancy restaurant normally has to offer…

Wow in every regard! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and decided to shift our travel plans from Lake Como after a couple of nights to Venice.
We couldn’t have been more delighted with our decision to stay at this hotel.
The entire property, the rooms, the service, the restaurant, and even the live Entertainment in the lounge were memorable and top class, even In comparison to other pier, hotels across Europe, where we have stayed.

We arrived to be “ welcomed” by the rudest man by the revolving doors.
He did not offer any assistance with helping us in, and then continued to loudly ask what we wanted, in front of other guests and staff.
Shocking.
When we went to take photos of the gorgeous reception, he arrives breathing down our neck.
I asked if this was ok, to which he just glared.
Other groups of aisan tourists arrived taking photos and he did not bother them or storm up asking what they were doing.
Some welcome.
I would never stay here again purely as this man is so rude and obviously does not even like people being in what he sees as his hotel.
It’s the guests who pay the wages, so perhaps treat us a little more politely, or dare I say, just like a decent human being.
We went on to stay at a far more superior and expensive hotel, where the welcome was gorgeous and everyone was made to feel welcome and at ease.
I would not recommend this hotel, perhaps if this man was to leave then possibly.
Really tainted the excitement to our long awaited holiday.

Beautiful 14th century old royal palazzo now a 5* hotel. Expensive, but great staff, excellent beds and pillows, and great service. The views from a balcony room overlooking the grand lagoon are great, as is the terrazzo restaurant on the roof top.
Terrible Hotel View in Venice
The restaurant staff was top-notch in friendliness and service, but this was offset by the terrible room location. The tour price was $991 and the list was $1,675. Our room however was looking into renovation tarps 4 feet away from both windows. We saw no Grand Canal nor Venice island....

Our room however was looking into renovation tarps 4 feet away from both windows. We saw no Grand Canal nor Venice island. The desk would "gladly" upgrade us for another $500 a night. We and our friends with similar room never to return to Hotel Danieli

A stay to never be forgotten
It’s everything you hear about (and see) in the movies and more. Everything is spectacular. Not just a hotel but an experience. I’m writing this review because even though I’ve stayed there with my wife about three years ago we still haven’t forgotten. And never will.
The long awaited stay - filled all the exepctations

This hotel was a cherry on top in our journey in Venice. It is expensive - crazy expensive. But the ones who stay there rarely read Booking reviews ;) They now why they are booking it and what service they will get. It is high end, top notch hotel, a few steps from St. Marco square and nice Venetian Lagoon views. We had an amazing time here. The room is very nicely decorated, and the view from room and balkony to the Venetian Lagoon is worth the price. It was also very spacious and comfortable to spend time in it. Breakfast option is a great one, rich of food, great service, nice view, good feeling. We also tried local Restaurant Terrazza Danieli rooftop in the evening and were very happy with the service, food choice, atmosphere. Later you can enjoy live music and drink unique cocktails at Bar Terrazza Danieli. We also wondered via different floors and enjoyed the unique historical palazzo ceilings, furniture and spirit. We were greeted by special service, personal note upon arrival, bottle of Prosecco and a small Venetian delight for our celebration. All these small details counts! This is a place were you can really enjoy, relax and just stop for a moment from all the rush and buzz around you.
Nothing to complain about except for some light noise coming through the windows from lagoon side. Windows isolation could be better.

Visited in December 2023 where the place is not so busy. The location is great and i believe it’s the best option for newcomers considering a luxury stay. Everything is walking distance away. We stayed in a wonderful suite overlooking the canal. On the downside, I believe its time to start renovating the hotel. Yellowish switches and damaged furniture etc do not belong to such pricey 5 star hotel

Buffet breakfast superb - perfect way to start the day with wonderful views.
Lobby bar is stunning with cocktails to match.
We had a Dandolo Suite which had everything one could ask for.

Went there for carneval time. So child in me had such great time, trying on dresses, hairdresser, dressing up, enyojing the hotel, beautiful lobby, city, little alleys. Atmosphere. All together Perfection.
We tried to book a table for two whilst visiting as we'd seen the hotel on a tv programme. The guy greeting me at the reception literally looked us up and down with a sneer saying only guests could book in person 'you can book online' No thanks. Especially after...

No thanks. Especially after reading reviews later about rude staff and slow service.

Excellent 5 stars hotel, very friendly staff, polite, helpful and prompt. The room was in the new part of the hotel, apparently there is no logic in the rooms' numbers, which is funny. Large terrace, facing the laguna. Breakfast was great and the service was high class.
