Long overdue review, but we couldn't have asked for a better stay at The Vasilicos. We were there on our honeymoon and stayed in the Vasilicos Suite. Dimitris was very helpful with all of our accommodations and made sure we had everything we needed. Chris brought us breakfast every day and was always there when we needed something. All of the staff including the ladies cleaning were so friendly and the food was incredible. The views and staff made this stay the best we had throughout our two week trip in Europe. I will not go to another resort when we come back to Santorini. Vasilicos made the trip for us.

Beautiful boutique hotel with amazing attention to detail. All the staff were really helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our morning breakfast delivered to our private table outside the room every day was the highlight. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Apologies for the delayed review. We stayed at the Vasilicos in early September for eight nights in the Efta Suite which had its own plunge pool / jacuzzi and was beautifully peaceful and private.From the moment we arrived we knew we would enjoy our stay from the perfect location to the very personal check in to the room itself. Dimitris, the manager of the property was extremely pleasant, kind and helpful with any requests we had. He was a great person to get to know and his local knowledge and recommendations were very much appreciated. On that note all the other members of the team including Chris who brought our lovely breakfast to the room each day were all without exception a pleasure to meet and converse with. The ladies who cleaned the room could not have been more helpful or understanding of our needs. The hotels location is perfect with the best view of the Caldera, especially of the sunset, and perfectly located between Thira and Imerovigli giving you the best choice of beautiful bars and restaurants. All in all a perfect stay so much so we have booked to return next September. Tip: There is a beautiful cafe opposite the entrance to the hotel called The Pink Sophia Maria, which serves excellent food and drinks throughout the day which I highly recommend. The manager Niktarios was a real star for us with his excellent recommendations and infectious personality, he was great to get to know during our stay.

What an amazing place - the nicest view of any place I have ever visited. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, breakfast served daily on the terrace and they even have a 'pillow menu' to enhance comfort. We had a private plunge as well as access to the larger pool. Hidden mostly from the other tourists walking above. Location is fantastic - walking to great restaurants in either direction. A lot less bust than Fira or Oia and the views are better IMO. The only thing keeping this from a 5-star review is that the jets in the plunge pool need to be fixed so they stay on longer than 45 seconds (I know a very first world problem) - but the staff seemed to be aware of the problem and said it had been like that all season! Time to replace the pumps or something at this level of accommodation.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at The Vasilicos for 4 nights during our honeymoon in Greece, and would highly recommend it to anybody looking to stay in Imerovigli or Santorini as a whole. Dimitris and Chris were incredibly attentive, and stood out as the best most hospitable employees we had the pleasure of working with during our 10-day trip to Greece. Breakfast every morning was a highlight of our trip (incredibly big selection and the food was always super fresh and tasty). The views were incredible, and the room (EFTA suite) was well adorned and very comfortable. The location of the hotel was excellent as well, being in a very central location to walk to either Imerovigli or Fira. For anybody looking to stay in Imerovigli, do not hesitate to stay at The Vasilicos!

But the Vasilicos is one of the rare places on Santorini that combines spectacular, unobstructed sunset views over the caldera; a small number of beautiful suites, some with private pools; and the rare luxury of seclusion. Add to that a warm and welcoming staff, delightful breakfasts and the option of a sumptuous private sunset dinner just for you, and you are set for an unforgettable stay on Santorini.

While the Vasilicos may not be as updated as some of the newer properties in Santorini that's part of what creates its unique charm. Dimitris, Chris, Eli, John & the rest of the staff were amazing ... providing the bespoke feeling one would want from such an experience. The caldera facing rooms are spacious and comfortable, but what really sets the property apart is the privacy it offers and the incredibly attentive, helpful & welcoming staff. Make sure to also visit the Pink Sophia Maria next door for wonderful food and friendly service.

We just came back from our honeymoon and we chose the last 3 1/2days in Santorini. We were booked this hotel by our travel agent and I have to say I was not disappointed one second of my stay. I literally felt like royalty the entire time! Dinitris (the manager/concierge) greeted us as we pulled in with a warm smile and after he checked us in offered to book us excursions or dinner reservation. We get to the room and it’s insanely cool and beautiful. I don’t know about you but I’ve never slept in a cave before!! Elle and RJ (?!) we’re so sweet and brought us a pitcher of water every night and made sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was delivered to us (included in the stay) and Chris brings the magic!! He brings you coffee of your choice, juices, fresh fruits, Greek yogurt and other things that the chef specifically curated that morning. We had a private pool, and last but certainly not least the BEST View of the sunset from our own patio. Like people were on top of our hotel to stop for a pic but we were alone with the same view. Please give this place a shot! You will not be disappointed

The two of us stayed six nights at The Vasilicos in mid-September, celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary. It's difficult to put into words just how fantastic this property is, and how wonderful and caring the staff are to guests. We researched many hours and discovered Vasilicos early-on when we began our hunt for where to stay in Santorini, and it lived up to every review we read, as well as the descriptions on their website. Vasilicos is located on the rim of the caldera with a million-Euro view! We chose the Belvedere Suite, which has a king bed, exceptionally large bathroom, and very large, sweeping terrace with a private plunge pool. We probably took over 200 photos from our terrace during our six days, capturing the caldera and hillsides at various times of the day. All the room amenities are there: plenty of bottled water, mini-fridge, free snacks, Nespresso coffee machine, robes, slippers, etc. By the way, a stay at The Vasilicos includes airport and/or port transfers both directions. Breakfast was the highlight of our days! It is a bespoke breakfast with everything imaginable available. The first day, they will serve you some of everything and you can make choices after that. There is nothing quite like fresh yogurt with fruit, nuts, etc., with plenty of honey! Yannis (John), the chef, checked on us daily to see how we liked breakfast and arranged the menu and timing for the next day. By the way, breakfast was served on our private terrace with a view that encourages you to eat slowly! As one of the staff remarked, "The angels are in the details!" Vasilicos has 5-6 bespoke pillow types from which to choose, along with custrom throw blankets and beach towels in every suite, which were designed for Vasilicos. The food is fresh, selected each morning from the local markets by Yannis. There's a mini-fridge, free snacks, Nespresso machine, hair dryer, robes, slippers....everything you might need during your stay. Private dinners can be arranged; there are currently three menus from which to choose. It's a bit pricey, but worth the cost given that you can experience the sunset from the terrace, while enjoying the fantastic food that Yannis prepares. Other meals, drinks, and snacks are available on request. The location is great! It is on the trail from Fira to Oia; Oia is about a three-hour walk from the hotel one direction; Fira is about 15 minutes the other direction. Fira has a lot of restaurants, shopping, etc., but can be fairly crowded with tourists and cruise ship day-trippers. The best restaurant we found in Fira is Aktaion (get a reservation); inexpensive, but great food and service, celebrating 100 years of operation! The strength of The Vasilicos is it's staff. Besides Yannis, the Concierge and manager-on-duty is Dimitris, who is nothing sort of incredible! He is quite young to have so much responsibility, but is mature beyond his years, and he has already earned two degrees in hospitality management. Dimitris is totally on top of all your needs, but not instrusive. We interacted with him daily and benefitted from his suggestions on restaurants, things to do, etc. He was a very effective communicator, both before and during our stay. Another staff person, Chris, is very attentive to re-supplying water in your room, handling bags, and being sure you are comfortable. Two additional staffers, RJ and Elle attending to servicing the rooms and keeping them spotless, along with the outside terrraces and pools. All three greeted you daily, with smiles on their faces! Bottom line is that Vasilicos is like Heaven on Earth! No matter how many days you book, you'll wish you could have stayed longer!

We were lucky enough to spend 2 nights in the King Cat suite and 2 in the Pergola suite. What an amazing experience we had, from the beginning, with local Santorini wines in reception, the suites were beautiful, the views simply breathtaking and daily breakfasts set out for you on the patio. All the staff really go above and beyond, they make you feel extremely special. This, we will never forget. Thank you, thank you The Vasilicos

I don’t even know where to begin. Easily the views were amazing. The suite with our hot tub was spectacular. However, it was the absolutely friendly service from Demetrius, Chris , Yannis and RJ along with others that blew us away! The first morning after we left, I said to my husband Gene “I miss Chris with breakfast”. We could never eat everything sitting in this amazing patio looking at the Aegean. It was absolutely perfection.

Santorini is truly beautiful. This boutique hotel with only seven well-appointed rooms may just be the best view on the island. I'm not sure the photos really capture it. Location is perfect for walking to whatever you desire, other than a beach, that's a drive which your hosts will arrange a car for you. There are great places to stay in Santorini but I can't imagine a better option than this.

My husband and I visited Santorini as the last stop of our honeymoon and we were blown away by this hotel. I did my research and looked into various hotels, and I am so glad we landed on The Vasilicos. The location is perfect-- slightly south of the heart of Imerovigli, the location feels quiet and private, yet it is still so easy to get to everything. The accommodations are phenomenal. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious. Our suite, Daphne's, was HUGE. The view is amazing. You won't want to leave your room/patio. Last but certainly not least-- the staff and the service. The staff is what makes this hotel so special. Dimitris and Chris are the best. They always have a smile on their faces, and no request is too big. The housekeeping team was awesome. Everyone is just amazing. I cannot thank them all enough. Stay here! You won't regret it!

The Vasilicos was the perfect destination for our Santorini vacation in August. It is very well located close to Fira but not directly in the mix. We stayed in the Pergola room, and it was lovely to have some shade and our own plunge pool overlooking the caldera during the hot summer days. On an island where everyone is jockeying for the best place to watch the sunset, there’s no need to go anywhere else when you’re staying at the Vasilicos. It was just absolutely perfect. And the service was also great. Dimitris was helpful and attentive—we particularly appreciated his help getting us everything we needed to get around without a car. But if you stay at the Vasilicos, there’s really not much point in going anywhere else! It’s all there. We’re very grateful to them for making our stay so special.

Tranquil, with jaw dropping views, it is only steps away from the bustle of Imeroviglia, though you may never want to leave. The spacious tasteful rooms come with private patios and plunge pools. Best of all was the staff: Dimitris, Chris and Yannis delivered a 5 star experience, catering to every need - arranging excursions and delivering gorgeous meals including a superb multi-course, candle-lit dinner. The Vasilicos is a hidden gem, in the middle of it all. We can't wait to go back.

This was hands down the best experience I have ever had at a hotel. My husband and I have travelled around Europe numerous times and stayed at many 5 star places. However this just went above and beyond my expectations. Dimitris, Cris and the team made our experience so personalised and we left feeling like we had made friends that we needed to come back and visit next year. We stayed for 4 nights and were upgraded to a larger room for 3 of them, we then moved to a smaller (by not much!) room for our last night and we had a private dinner on the patio. I don't think there is a better view on the whole island, there is literally the viewing platform next to the church on the top of the hill and you stay in the hill below it. Just amazing. We did a boat tour and a private wine tour all organised through the concierge, the tour operators were 5 stars, the service personilsed and door to door. We hope to come back soon. Its a dream staying here, you won't regret it for a second.

Dimitris emailed us with things to do, pillow selections and dinner options. Then he and his amazing team (Chris and RJ) took such great care of us from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The sunset was literally the best from the Vasilicos than any other place on the island. The views were absolutely breathtaking and we enjoyed them every morning while we ate the delicious breakfast the team made for us and beautifully placed on our patio. I can’t say enough great things about our experience here, it was literally the best place we’ve ever stayed!
