Now renamed after Hyatt got cold feet and bailed. Due to this I would never trust Hyatt again. However, we stayed the course and despite the worst communication from our booking agent, LoveHolidays, the trip was actually confirmed 48 hours prior to flying out. There have been some issues admittedly, many documented on the Facebook group set up to offer support to frustrated and anxious travellers. Was the hotel actually finished and ready for guests ? What was available from the original offer ? The guests continued to discuss some of this once in situ - often during evening meal once the all inclusive wine had been consumed ! However, having experienced the hotel over a 12 day period, I can report that whilst there were some things missing, a great deal of additional perks were on offer. First of all, there were only a few guests and they all experienced the most gracious and courteous service ever .... felt practically like one-to-one service. The staff had been on a journey too, with even the management making up rooms and getting stuck in. The furnishings were top quality - the pillows pure goose down (no hotel offers this). The food was outstanding - offered buffet style but with the option of being served and excellent cuts of meat were always available. Olive oil, fresh honey - all locally produced and available. The hotel did have areas which were not yet ready, but the stunning contemporary styling meant that this wasn't really noticeable. I think some guests might have preferred a more traditional Greek set up, but the design was perfect for us. The pools were sometimes empty, so you had them to yourselves and sunbeds did not have to be grabbed or "towelled" in advance ! Our shower was ineffective, it rained one day and there was the occasional slip up here and there, but what we did get ultimately was the best holiday we have ever had and tremendous value for money given the service and exclusivity of the low number of guests. It was an absolute privilege to stay here and we will be back next year. Thankyou to the staff and management of Zelia x
