Erik, one of the bell boy, was super kind and let us have his $2 US bills, when he really didn't need to share it, because those bills are special! He wanted to gift us! So I hope he gets recognized for being generous! The front desk people, cleaning staff, and food stands/ buffet/restaurant people were amazing too, asking if we needed anything and the food was amazing! All Inclusive is the way to vacation! Thanks for keeping your buildings nice, clean, and modern. Thanks Wyndham Grand Staff Cancun for making our vacation a wonderful experience!

This place is perfect if you are looking for a chillax and family friendly vibe - not a rowdy soul. All the guests were respectful & I must say behaved (do not get me wrong - everyone is drinking appropriately by age). We were there for 5 days & 4 nights but one of the best hotel all-inclusive Ive been in Cancun (second to Hyatt Ziva). One of the main reason is the staff. Everyone is such consistently hard workers, friendly, & sincere from start to finish (greeter when u get off the car, security, front lobby, front desk, bellboy, cafes, restaurant, beach bar tenders, beach waiters, pool bar tenders, maintenance, environmental services, shops). They were so grateful & you can see it in their eyes that they love what they do. They treat u well with tip or without tip. They do not discriminate. It doesnt matter how nice a place could be but they have ungrateful/prejudice staff…. it is a piece of trash like Punta Cana Majestic Mirage. The prejudice & ungrateful treatment that I received from Majestic Mirage Punta Cana makes me DO NOT WANT to go back in PUNTA CANA. Wyndham Altta is the complete opposite. The staff are very respectful and hard workers. SHOUT OUT to GILBUERTO (Italian restaurant). Wyndham Alttra gives me Hyatt Ziva Vibes. This is one of my new fave place in cancun. Food: I am not a picky eater. My fave is the Italian restaurant. Ate there twice out of our 4 night stay. I also love the daily authentic taco by the pool. Amenities: Updated gym (go there everyday) Sauna (luv it) - just wished they had a locker outside or nearby Beach: Super clean & well maintained. Staff: Friendly, respectful, grateful, welcoming, hard-workers

Heder one of the waiters at Ventanas is the nicest, friendliest, warmest person. He treated us like a family Every time he served us he made us feel if we were the only ones in the restaurant. Overall, our stay at Wyndham was very enjoyable. Thank you all!

Where do I start! we selected this resort after quite some research. and we were right to choose this resort.. We reached around 8 pm on a Saturday. Took about 30 mins from airport. The check-in was smooth, it was a no-nonsense affair, the staff were pleasant enough, one minor complain would be we were not offered for our bags to be carried to our room. we carried them ourself. We had dinner the same night at Ventanas (one of their resto), and I must say we were pleasantly surprised by the taste, spread and versatility of the whole menu. We dont eat beef or pork, but still there were enough options for us to choose from. The live counters were great too!! The waiters/ waitresses at the restaurant were very friendly, especially Isabel at the front desk and Romeo. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday at Ventanas and never once got disappointed by food or service. Their Italian resto and beachside/poolside bars were good too. Beaches were awesome. Almost clean except for the occasional seaweeds. And the water was great, one of the best I have seen so far. Just beautiful.! Room was clean and well maintained, no complains there. Beds, pillows, sofa all were good. Minifridge was filled everyday and you could even call at 0 if you require anything at any time, supercool.! Another minor issue was the resort not having enough shades at the beach, there were paid cabanas but not enough sunbeds with shades. we needed them on hot days, which was everyday :) Overall, a very awesome experience, exactly how an all-inclusive resort should be!! Fully recommended for future travelers.

4.5 stars! We arrived home last week after 8 days at the Wyndham Alltra Cancun resort. It was just my husband and I as we celebrate our 25 anniversary in a few months and wanted a nice romantic get away. It was also my birthday so that was a treat....

4.5 stars! We arrived home last week after 8 days at the Wyndham Alltra Cancun resort. It was just my husband and I as we celebrate our 25 anniversary in a few months and wanted a nice romantic get away. It was also my birthday so that was a treat. I have celiac disease so this review will focus a lot on food. We go for the beach and ocean when we go south. For the most part the beach was beautiful, although there was one day with very high winds where we could not go in the ocean (the hotel zone we find is very rough compared to other areas in Mexico). We rented a cabana on the beach for 6 days and I don't think I would go without having that option. If you book before you go, you can save a few dollars a day. There were very few chairs and even less with shade, which is why the cabana was so great (plus no saving chairs as a cabana comes with 2 chairs). The service we had at the beach cabana was excellent, shout out to Karina who served us there often, but they were all amazing I just didn't keep note of their names! We never went into the pool so I can't speak on the pools. Our room was nice, but like most resorts we've been to in Mexico, did smell of mildew, but I didn't see any. That's quite normal in that kind of humility, but I just wanted to mention it. Huge shower in our bathroom with bench which was nice. Resort public bathrooms were nice, nicer than some others we've been to. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were not at all. I have issues with my neck so I'm pretty picky on pillows, but even my husband that can usually sleep on anything had a very sore neck after a few days. The food was amazing. My husband ate at the buffet for dinner once and he said it was one of the best buffets at a Mexican resort he's been to. We also ate there for breakfast everyday and lunch at least half the days we were there. For myself because I have celiac, the manager or hostess would take my order and bring it to the chef for them to prepare in the back away from gluten. I had French toast, pancakes, omelettes, home fries (they need notice for those as the others are not safe for those with celiac disease), bacon and it was all amazing! Special shout out to the breakfast chef, Leonardo, and the lunch chef Samuel. The manager for the breakfast and lunch buffet was usually Emanuel and he always made sure my food was safe. Liliana was the hostess that would help take my order if Emanuel wasn't there. The beach taco bar was closed for renovations so I was a bit bummed because I read that the entire menu was gf and no gluten to worry about cross contact. Then I found out that it moved up to the pool! They were all gf and somebody served and only used separate plates and utensils so even though it was next to another station that might have gluten, I still felt safe eating it. The other station would change up and have paella, ribs, pizza, fruit, fish tacos, etc and my husband enjoyed those (but not safe for those with celiac). Sometimes we would just eat a small amount there instead of going to the buffet because eating 3 meals was just too much for us. Liliana from the breakfast buffet was also at Sunset for lunch and she helped us make dinner reservations at the At Sunset restaurant. She would let Chef Antonio know we were coming and what time. Speaking of chef Antonio, he was by far the best chef I've had the pleasure of preparing my food! He not only made delicious and safe food, but he went out of his way to make me specialty food that wasn't even on the menu! When we first met it was at lunch because I wanted to know if there was anything safe there for me at that time. He said there isn't at lunch, but if he knew when I was coming, he would make sure to keep a safe place to make my meal and would do something special (I think for dinner they will always have a place to make safe meals, but there's more options if they have advanced notice, so if possible try to make arrangements). That night we went to dinner and watched the sunset and after the best salad both my husband and I ever had, out came this amazing dish called paella. It was absolutely massive and full of seafood (I was asked first if I liked and could eat seafood, but I had no idea what I was getting)! I did feel bad that I couldn't even eat a quarter of it and that was with my husband's help! A lady that was eating dinner in the Italian restaurant was looking out the window and asking what I was eating but at the time I had no idea what it was, but it was that good that it drew attention. We ate there three nights, one being my birthday and he made me a cheesecake that was so yummy! Each meal was mouth watering! We also bought a couple special dinners. They had a beach dinner with singers and dancers that happened to be the day before my birthday so we thought it would be a nice way to celebrate my birthday even if was a day early. Javier was our server and he is also at the Mexican restaurant and he made our night! It was a treat for sure. Then we decided for our last full day/night there that we would eat at At Sunset as there was this special, private area that we wanted. If you buy anything, like a bottle of wine, specialty dinner like surf and turf, you can eat there. Our mistake was that we thought it was part of the At Sunset restaurant and wanted chef Antonio to cook our meal, but it was actually the Italian restaurant. Don't get me wrong, we did enjoy the Italian restaurant, but because it was our last night we just really wanted chef Antonio so we were a bit bummed. We spoke to Alberto, who we previously met when he was filling in for Emanuel at the buffet and made us our reservations at the Italian restaurant. Alberto somehow had our dinner made my chef Antonio! Not sure exactly what happened, but we had a amazing and delicious romantic dinner! I even had some chocolate mousse and macaroons for dessert (GF peeps know we usually don't get many options if any for dessert)! Honestly, I felt I was treated like royalty while there. I do want to add that we do tip. We don't just tip our servers, but the manager or hostess depending on who takes my order and brings out my food (it was usually never the server), and the chef. I know that my dietary needs can be a burden and pain in the butt so we like to compensate for their extra work. Everybody, all the staff, were always accommodating and friendly, but it's obvious that tipping does help. The biggest downside we found that that the sales team is very aggressive. Maybe the most aggressive we've experienced. The first 3-4 days we would almost run past them, as they stop you every time they see you and don't want to let you go. Even when you say repeatedly that you're not interested, they still try. The first time I told the gentleman that he could offer me $1000 and I still wouldn't go for their "breakfast". We do not want to be tied down to any resort or group. Eventually, after day 4 or 5 they mostly got to know that we weren't going for it and they mostly left us be. But those first few days were hard to not be rude, don't make eye contact, etc. I don't have the patience for that kind of stuff. I don't go on vacation to be made to feel I need to be rude (my rudeness was to walk away, because they wouldn't let me go even though I'm starving and can't just grab food like everybody else, so yes, one day I just walked away, even though I did explain why). I don't want to have to be rude. I will say hi and no thank-you and that should be it, they should just leave you be. That was really our only complaint. I do have to mention that although we were able to make reservations most nights due to my celiac disease, most people had a 2 plus hours wait on a wait list! If you want to shower after sitting outside all day, good luck getting in to eat before 9 or 10pm. I do feel that management needs to fix this issue because if I couldn't get reservations and had to wait like that, I wouldn't go back. All in all, if we were to return to the hotel zone we would go back. Small and personal appeals to us. And the food itself was reason to go back.
