Our stay at Tulia was absolutely fantastic! From the very first moment, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with any request. The rooms were beautifully clean, spacious, and tastefully furnished, offering every comfort one could wish for. The hotel itself is well-maintained, spotless, and provides a wonderful atmosphere for relaxation. But the absolute highlight that completely captivated us was the dining experience! The food was simply outstanding—fresh, delicious, and made from locally sourced ingredients, which was evident in the quality and exceptional taste of every dish. Every meal was an experience, whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner. A huge thank you to the entire staff, especially (Adéla, Katka, and Sam) for their amazing approach—always with a smile, ready to help, and with a genuine effort to make our stay as pleasant as possible. And also to the waiters, Enock and Gaston. We truly appreciate the whole team for an unforgettable experience! We will be happy to return and highly recommend it to everyone! 😊✨

This is among the most refined and exclusive beach resorts you ll find anywhere! Just 17 beautifully appointed villas set in the most wonderful exotic gardens. The food is excellent and the chef will go out of his way to prepare whatever pleases you. All the personnel is helpful and delightful. We will definitely return! Zanzibar as a top tourist destination will take off thanks to hôtels of this level.

My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon here and it was absolutely perfect. Tulia’s staff’s attention to detail is unparalleled. I truly felt like every want and need was taken care of and they thought of everything. For example, when we went on a one day safari excursion, they were sweet enough to pack us lunch for the day! I truly felt like I was staying with family. Also the entertainment they had during dinner every night was out of this world; they had acrobats, traditional Masai dances, and beautiful Zanzi bands. They also wrote us the most thoughtful, kindest letters both at arrival and departure and it made the trip so special. I’ll never forget my time at this paradise and look forward to returning soon. I’d like to give a special thanks to Lukas! All of the staff members were amazing but Lukas was particularly great - really enjoyed the Tanzania history lesson he gave us during a beautiful beachside lunch we were having.

Fantastic resort. I can’t say enough about the staff, the grounds, the amenities, the location, the activities, etc. I was there with my wife for 9 days, I could’ve stayed another month! As beautiful as the Tulia is, it was the staff that made this week+ complete. Friendliest and most helpful staff I’ve encountered in a LONG time. I’m recommending the Tulia to everyone I know looking for an amazing vacation. Not to name drop, I wish I could remember them all, but thank you, Michelle, Jonas, Kate, the bartenders, the wait staff, the housekeeping crew, the groundskeepers, the chef, etc. you are all wonderful! There are amazing things to do in Zanzibar and there’s adventure around every corner, but the Tulia is so welcoming and professional that you don’t need to leave the resort to have a great time!

The resort name Tulia truly reflected the experience of Tulia. The service from start to end was efficient and yet touching with a lot of attention to detail with welcome notes, flexibility on dining options and drinks. The staff were kind, pleasant and remembered the tiny details at dinner. The food and drink quality was of high standard and I would truly recommend this as a gorgeous relaxing getaway with stunning views. I never return back to resets but this is one I would come back to.

Spent 6 days at Tulia. The welcome was fantastic as were all the staff the whole way through right until we left. We had a garden villa which was so lovely and private. The tour of the gardens was really interesting and Yoga with Michelle another lovely touch alongside the complementary boat trip. The sea comes right up to the hotel wall at high tide and a long way out at low tide which meant you could walk as well as swim right by the hotel depending on the time which we loved, but did mean not always a beautiful white beach to look at ---- very minor detail in an amazing stay. Food was great and available all day (or it seemed like it) in either your room, the restaurant or bar. Drinks were plentiful and varied. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel. Beautiful place, with fantastic staff who took the time to get to know us and made our stay special (fantastic 30th wedding anniversary surprise) Thanks all x

When you get out of the taxi and are greeted, you already know you are in a special place. Adella, the manager, who was so helpful throughout our stay, gave us the initial tour. Everything was beautiful, clean and everyone was smiling to greet us. We did the full tour, and recommend the same. We visited the sustainable garden where they grow most of what they cook, the wood shop, the chicken farm where they get their eggs, the spa. This is a good way to get to know the grounds when you arrive. We had a beachfront bungalow that was totally worth it. Clean, well supplied, comfy and the view!! Every evening we spent at least an hour looking at and listening to the sea. (Also did a few naps there. :-) ) The food was incredible! Every meal had a two different choices and all were good and well presented. We had the all inclusive package so we had all the best alcohols available to us and the bartenders made excellent cocktails. This is a very small resort. So if you are looking for a party, this is not necessarily the place to go. There are 16 bungalows and when we arrived, there were only 22 guests. However, we were treated like royalty. Anything we asked, we got. We couldn’t even carry our glass of wine from the dining room to the bar, someone had to carry it for us. Even though the resort was not full, we had excellent entertainment every evening, even when we were only four in the dining room. Katherine, who studied art, took a couple hours to paint alone with my wife. She also accompanied us to do some cooking with a local Women’s Coop. She was so helpful, nice and always smiling. We would like to give a shout out to Abdalah, Gaston and Moses, our favorite bartenders who tried to make every drink special for us. Also, Enoch and Fatima who waited on us with a smile also made our visit special. Even the chef and kitchen staff, when we interacted with them were always smiling and happy. Peter and Daniel also took very good care of us. The location, view and food were excellent, but the people working there made this resort the best we have ever stayed in.

When we arrived this true paradise, our breath was taken away by the amazing view! I can't imagine a more beautiful setting or location for a peaceful getaway! Look at my attached photos and you will agree! This luxury and charming resort with only 16 bungalows are competing with the very best resort I have been visiting in Seychelles, Maldives, Mauritius and Hawaii! In Tulia you will be treated like “Kings & Queens” by the amazing staff. The special welcome by staff was amazing and it became clear they always went the extra mile to make your experience one to remember. Our Deluxe Garden Bungalow with Partial Sea View (no. 6) was very well appointed and spacious, equipped with everything you could want. The bungalow has one big bedroom with a big terrace surrounded by the garden with a partial sea view. It also had a private lovely hammock in the garden. The room had a very efficient air-conditioning. The free Wi-fi is working well all around the resort. I confess Tulia has one of the best housekeeping teams I have ever experienced. They looked after our bungalow which was spotless cleaned and not missing anything since the housekeeping is taking amazing care. The amenities at the property felt endless. There is a gym, yoga, spa (which a complimentary massage is offered with stay), free access to paddle boards and kayak, multiple swimming pools (one with a swim up bar) etc. The small beach in the front of the hotel is stunning, and the photo opportunities at this resort are endless. The softest sand you can imagine, and the colour of the sea is like a watercolour painting. The executive chef and team are to be congratulated on providing some of the best food I’ve tasted on any resort, with great choices, lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and they uses almost exclusively natural materials for food. The restaurant provided varied menus. The attention to detail and presentation in each plate was above and beyond. The beautiful grounds of the hotel were very well maintained as you can see on my attached photos. You will meet a lot of staff when strolling around, all with smiles on their faces and ready to say jambo (hello) or good morning. A huge congratulation to the whole staff at Tulia! Keep up the amazing job as you guys are making your clientele happy, relaxed, feel safe and special all the time! It´s hard not to fall in love with the Tulia. If you’re looking for relaxation and luxury this is your spot. I always do a lot of research before traveling and feel very confident I found the best place to stay at Zanzibar! My husband and I stayed at Tulia for four nights of our honeymoon after a safari. From the moment we arrived to when we departed we were well taken care of by the phenomenal staff who had personalized touches for us each day. The food and cocktails are gourmet and the property has so much to offer with only 16 rooms! Your stay comes with a boat ride, a massage, and access to all of the pools, both water slides, the public and private beaches, and kayaks/paddle boards. The resort offers excursions and we went on one to the turtle sanctuary to swim with turtles. We absolutely loved our stay at Tulia and were very sad to go. A special thank you to Petr for making our stay so wonderful!!

Our 3-night stay at Tulia was a great experience. The boutique resort is very comfortable with beautiful garden and beaches. What stood out was the highly personalised services. - Setting: Tulia is located in a very quiet location, with pristine lagoon and beach, as well as a beautiful tropical garden and farm. - Room: We stayed in a bungalow with partial seaview, which was very spacious and comfortable, it also comes with a nice patio. - F&B: Although the selection is relatively limited due to the size of the resort (only 16 rooms), the menu changes daily with fresh ingredients. - Services: Tulia offer very warm and personalized services, with a very high degree of flexibility. As we were leaving early for diving trips, team prepared breakfast for us before the regular restaurant times, and on our last night we were offered diner in a private setting in the garden with lovely decorations and music. We got to know most of the team during our stay, management is very present. We definitely missed the warm and personalized Tulia services after moving to Zuri. Great thank you to Michelle, Peter and the whole team for making our stay memorable!

We ended our two-week honeymoon at Tulia after a safari and wow, we were blown away. The resort itself is like postcard. It’s beautiful, serene and worth exploring - there’s a garden onsite where many herbs and plants are grown. The fine dining experience was delicious. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. There were so many thoughtful gestures from the staff - from surprise gifts and experiences to the wonderful send-off when we sadly had to leave. If you’re deciding on which room to go with - the ocean front villas were unreal. Waking up to a beautiful view of the sunrise from your bed or falling asleep on a hammock to the sounds of the water were amazing experiences. I could go on and on but suffice it to say - this was a trip of a lifetime. Tulia, thank you for the warmth and d hospitality. We hope to visit again!

My husband and I spent five wonderful days at Tulia and loved it. We had just finished 18 intensive days on safari on the mainland and were ready for serious downtime. We had a seafront bungalow and highly recommend that over one set further back. The room (suite really) was huge and beautifully designed and furnished. We spent most of our five days lounging on our deck looking at the Indian Ocean. The pool and communal beach area are beautiful and we would have been there most of the time if we hadn’t had our own seafront deck and “beach” area. The space in front of the seafront rooms is about 10 feet above the real beach and forms a private raised beach area for each individual room. The room air conditioning was welcome when needed! Meals were all delicious and all dining spaces are open to the outside. We ate breakfast and lunch at the seafront pavilion and dinner is always in the main dining area where there is live music every night. The breakfast menu offers many choices and is similar each day. Lunch and dinner choices are different each day and we loved everything! Seafood options are plentiful which makes sense since you’re surrounded by water but there were always vegetarian and meat choices too. We chose the all-inclusive option which probably worked out the same as ala carte dining would have. We are moderate drinkers but your mileage might vary if you either drink more or don’t drink at all. We also opted one evening for the “Le Petite Chef” dinner which is held in a wine cellar just a couple of minutes walk from the main dining venues. This is not included in the all-inclusive price but we had a great time and highly recommend the experience. It’s too hard to explain so just Google it if you’re interested. We had a yoga session with Michelle on our deck one day and she’s really good. If we weren’t being such slugs after our safari experience we probably would have done it once or twice more. The spa also has great massages. I can’t leave this review without seriously raving about the staff. They seem to respond with a friendly “yes!” to every request. We were amazed that most of them seemed to know our names almost from the beginning. The garden staff keeps the grounds looking beautiful everywhere on the large property. The resort has its own sizable and spice garden and someone will offer to show you around. Do this! We also took an off-property spice farm tour and felt it was unnecessary and inferior to the Tulia grounds tour. If we ever find ourselves on Zanzibar again we would definitely stay at Tulia!

Guests feel that they are welcomed and that every moment in Tulia they never forget.. We found the whole experience lived up to its promise. The staff are all professional, happy and upbeat. Particularly mentioning Michaelle who stood out as a great front of house and even provided Yoga lessons. She was there supporting us whenever we needed and Management need to be aware they have a real diamond on their team. The only criticism was the choice of loud dance Rap music around the bar and sundecks which jarred what should have been a tranquil experience. The food was absolutely top quality and entertainment changed each evening. A great Holiday
