8 nights in October was a gamble but had amazing weather. Hotel exactly as described- very clean and well maintained. Excellent food drink and service esp at Mirabello by all the team there. They were all friendly and professional. Loved our lunches under the carob tree with stunning views. The special lobster and Seafood evening there was fabulous. Greek night great food- rustic- but the atmosphere wasn't quite there- still worth a visit though. Culinarium lovely too- but staring at a big neon sign kind of disappointing but not the end of the world. Main restaurant very good indeed-lovely lady there Maria. Bar service always good at the lobby bar by the always happy ladies, but frustrating not to be able to get a drink at the lobby bar all day- had to trek to the beach bar. Our bungalow with sea view room was spacially quite tight but very comfortable, particularly good powerful shower and huge comfy bed. Only disappointment was mini bar not filled up with my daily Diet Coke oh and shower was in the bath so felt a bit snug. Only went to the beach not pool but always beds available and comfortable. Good waiter service on the beach although one male colleague did seem stressed and harrassed every day. Excellent service though from I think it was Melina- lonely young lady. Good snorkelling off the beach. Water sports not cheap. Absolutely recommend this hotel overall but would say one thing that was disappointing and would stop us returning was the amount of items not included in the all inclusive package on the menus. Understand there would be a couple of premium lines in each restaurant, but in one restaurant- the grill- only one main was included. We both thought that was a bit of an imbalance and would be a blocker to returning after what was otherwise a great holiday- thank you! Ps there is a lot of steps!

We have just returned from ten nights at this hotel. The hotel is lovely, with some stunning views and great chill out areas, it is clean, the rooms are nice and all of the staff are friendly and helpful. There are a few things that I feel need to be shared about the hotel that may be useful if you are thinking of going. (See attached pictures) We booked a bungalow with garden view and balcony or terrace. The first room we were taken to was nothing like the pictures. It had a very small outdoor space with two chairs and a small table and right in front of the table was a large tree with wide trunk which would have been our view had we not complained. We were moved with no resistance from the staff and they were really understanding. The next room had the same size terrace but overlooked the many pathways that go around the hotel. It was still nothing like the pictures but we liked the location, it was a 30 second walk to the pool and close to the main hotel. I would advise that you request first floor and not ground if booking. It never had the sun on it but neither did a lot of the rooms in the hotel as we discovered from talk to many people. One couple had a room with private pool, but it wasn’t private it was shared with two other rooms and they said it only got a little sun in the late afternoon. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for anyone who is not fit or very mobile. There are lots of uneven steps and slopes. The private beach is lovely but a long walk down and an even longer walk back up, we even saw two people fall on the steps! The hotel is also very quiet, they had a DJ in the beach bar on a Wednesday and a DJ in the lobby bar on a Friday. Every other night it was really quiet and no one was around after midnight. It was near the end of the season though so may be different in season. I would say though if you looking for lively this is probably not the right place. For a chilled, quiet relaxing holiday it is perfect. We were half board and found the drinks quite expensive €10.50 for a brandy and coke, €7:50 for a house wine and €7:50 for a local beer. You can upgrade to all inclusive any time which we did consider it is €55 per person per day but we enjoyed going out at night and bought drinks for the room from the supermarket, so even with food and drink we bought from the hotel it suited us better. We went into Elounda quite a few nights, you can swap your evening meal for lunch which was good. It is €10 in a taxi to Elounda and €16 to Agios Nikolaos. I think this is probably a quieter part of the Island even in the height of season but it is beautiful and everyone is friendly. We had some great meals out overlooking the sea. We also had a quite a few laughs with some lovely people we met. I do highly recommend this hotel you just need to know what to expect and then you won’t be disappointed.

A return visit as Mythica guests. The hotel is much the same as we remembered. Staff were friendly and helpful as before and some we remembered and they remembered us. Food at the buffet restuarant was good, varied and plentiful as were drinks at the bar services. The main bar does not open until 18:00 (it used to be 16:00) so if you want a drink coffee or otherwise before that you will have to go to the beach bar. At 35 degrees that can be quite a walk. The air conditioning in our room was too noisy to be on at night so we left the patio door open. One problem the hotel shares with its sister Rithymna beach hotel invasive and overloud, not very good, canned 'muzak' played too loud in the buffet etc. at meal times, especially so at breakfast. That comment from someone who has Jerry Lee Lewis, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin and the like in his collection.

We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. A jewel in the crown that is hospitality. We were made so welcome on arrival and it just got better from there. Beautiful location with a small inlet and beach which offered excellent snorkelling with a wide variety of sea life, as well as a choice of indoor or outdoor pools. Also a dive centre on site (for which you will need cash). Fantastic variety and quality of food across all the restaurants on offer with the opportunity to eat a la carte as well. Very well appointed and comfortable rooms and amazing WiFi coverage across the whole site inside and out. Very accommodating and professional staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. We cannot wait to return next year for a longer stay!!

We previously stayed at Aquila Elounda Village Hotel in June 2017. We decided to return to Crete this year and did not hesitate in our choice of hotel. We were sceptical that the hotel could be quite as good as we’d remembered in view of the 7 year gap since our last visit, and with the aftermath of the pandemic. We need not have doubted!! This hotel and all its staff were as splendid, if not better, than we remembered. We chose a better room this time, treating ourselves to a shared pool. My husband does not like too much sun and does not swim, preferring to read in the shade, soak up the views and watch me frolicking in and out of the pool. Having a pool in front of the room therefore seemed the perfect compromise for us to both have a fantastic holiday. Unfortunately, because of the time of the year, the sun did not reach our patio or pool, making it much less inviting to be room-based. I explained this to the guest relations staff at reception (namely Haridimos, Thomas and Alexandra). The hotel was at full capacity at the time, but it was clear from the offset that the staff genuinely wanted to help us and we were told that they would try moving us to a room with a bit more sun as soon as one became available. True to their word, we were moved to such a room two days into our holiday; the new room not only gave us the sun we’d hoped for, but the staff were delighted to inform us that it also meant an upgrade. We now had our very own pool and a much bigger suite! We really cannot give enough praise to the way in which these 3 staff members rallied round to help resolve our problem and to ensure our holiday was everything we had hoped for and more. They are truly a credit to this hotel! We were also very pleasantly surprised to find out that because we had paid for one of the more expensive rooms, that made us Mythica guests, and meant we could eat at our preferred A La Carte restaurant (Mirabella) every night. The setting and food at this restaurant was sublime, and as for the waiting staff, namely Sofia, beautiful Natalya and Dimitris, nothing was too much. These same staff were there evening after evening of our stay, but never failed to be anything other than delightful – friendly, informative and funny. We felt we had become more than customers by the end of our week there - we had become friends. The one other member of staff that I must mention is Sofia in the main restaurant. I recognised this lovely lady from when we visited 7 years ago, and she has apparently been working at the hotel for 20 years. All I can say is that her ability to continue to show such enthusiasm and desire to ensure each guest is happy after 20 years in the job is commendable. All in all, we LOVED everything about our holiday at this wonderful hotel - the STUNNING hilltop setting, clean sea, gorgeous architecture of the hotel, beautifully maintained and established gardens, and ABOVE ALL ELSE………the splendid staff! Needless to say, we will definitely NOT be waiting 7 years again before returning to this hotel! Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

This has got to be the best hotel we have stayed in. Upon arrival we was greeted when getting out the taxi by a friendly and welcoming member of the reception team. We checked in and was introduced to Elini who explained everything to us and made us feel very welcomed and then personally walked us to our room, we are staying in room 10 which is a deluxe waterfront bungalow… all I can say is WOW. The room is stunning with the most amazing view. The food is outstanding and there is an excellent buffet restaurant as well as 3 other places to eat , had dinner in the Mirabello restaurant last night and really enjoyed it. The whole team that work here go above and beyond to make your stay special. I will most definitely return to this hotel and would thoroughly recommend it… it is stylish, relaxing (adults only) and the whole feel to the place is perfect. Thank you Aguila for a fantastic holiday.

This is our 5th time at this hotel and it only gets better. The setting of this hotel is magical and oh so blue ! You can admire the views all day long. The hotel is made to feel like a village just as the name suggests with bungalows doted around beautiful gardens and separate to the main hotel. We had a beautiful room 519 which was set on its own and had a lovely view. The room was very spacious with plenty of storage space. The food in the hotel is lovely and you can always find something to choose from at the buffet which is included as part of the all inclusive package. I think the all inclusive package represents excellent value for money in terms of both drinks and food. The Al a Carte restaurants do offer items that are included in the all inclusive package but then also offer items which attract a supplement but given you can visit these restaurants as many times as you want (as opposed to being restricted to 1 visit which some all inclusive hotels do) it gives a choice to stick with all inclusive prices or pay a little extra if you want something really special. The staff are exceptional and provide first class customer service and always have a smile to greet you. This applies to all the staff from reception to bar staff and to staff in the restaurants.

The bathroom needed a refurb and the bedroom was not luxurious. We were all inclusive but paid extra for a poor meal at the a la carte restaurant. The “beach” was man made and was builders sand and grit. As far as our experience it was not 5*.

I have already done a review of this lovely hotel, but I failed to mention the Scarabeos Jewellery shop in the Hotel. We first visited this lovely shop in June last year and have been back every time we are either at the Hotel or in Elounda. We were back there recently and I thought I should put a review about this lovely shop. We are so impressed with the lady that works there Charmaine, not like most jewellery shops you go to there is no pressure to buy and she really understands the business. They have such a lovely range of all types of Jewellery, it's always so difficult to decide and Charmaine is so helpful in getting the size of rings you need and delivery if you wish to order and have it sent home. The service is exceptional, I wish we had that at home. Looking forward to returning next year.

This was without a doubt the best holiday we’ve ever had. Celebrating our honeymoon here was an absolute treat. Big shout out to the wonderful guest services manager Maria for really taking care of us. We were treated like absolute royalty for the whole week by every single member of staff - and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. This hotel has multiple restaurants meaning you do not need to eat at the buffet style restaurant at all if you do not want to. Plenty of great menu options at both other restaurants and every item we tasted was superb. We booked all inclusive which I highly recommend as that is where most restaurant items are free of charge. The pool and beach areas have wonderful servers walking around every 20 mins or so to check if anyone needs any drinks or snacks, and everything is extremely fresh and full of flavour - especially the cocktails. The room we stayed in was a deluxe waterfront bungalow with a large balcony, and if you are unsure of what type of room you want to book, I implore you to get this one! Beyond stunning with the best views you could ever want, facing east meaning you get the breathtaking sunrises every morning visible from the comfort of your bed! The entire hotel is extremely clean and tidy - with cleaners coming in multiple times a day to give fresh towels and restock the mini bars etc. If you book with TUI, you can download their Tui Blue app and find the daily activities schedule and a place to book your tables at the evening meals and special events. This came in very handy. Honestly I could go on all day about this place but I think I got my point across haha. We can’t wait to book again next year!
