We absolutely loved this resort and would definitely stay again!! Staff was very friendly! Lots of activities planned! Great family resort or just couples resort! The food was excellent. We made reservations after we got there for their Al la cart restaurants and then we ate breakfast and lunch at the Mitra market that had 5 different food stations and food themes at night. I could have easily ate at the Mitra market for dinner because everything was so good including the service. The bars had wonderful mixologist and the drinks were so good! I have been to multiple sandals all adults resorts and this one met and exceeded my expectations of all inclusive resorts for food, drinks and service! It was a very clean resort! Loved the beach! They have a great spa, but you cannot miss the opportunity to have a beach massage from the locals right on the beach for only $40 for a 1 hr massage! I got one every day that I was there under the green tent! One of the best massages I’ve ever had!! I loved seeing all the wild life on the resorts from the iguanas, to the birds, squirrels and all the howler monkeys! They were so much fun to watch! I highly recommend contacting Andrei with conchalfun.com. I read about him on trip advisor and contacted him through the website and he messaged me right back that evening and set up everything we wanted to do for our stay. He was easy to work with and provided us some our best excursions. He took us into a beach/surf town called Tamarindo for the day. We even got to meet his dog Shakira who tagged along with us. The 2 of them were great! He set us up with Carlos for our own private tour for the day to 2 different waterfalls, a sloth/ nature tour. A locals restaurant for lunch, a coffee/ chocolate tour. He was so good! And then our last day Andrei set it up for a catamaran snorkeling/swimming sunset with the lazy lizard! It was so much fun! You will not be disappointed. Everything was perfect and we cannot wait to return to Costa Rica!!!

We had an amazing 5 nights in the Club Westin! What stood out most to us was the positive, hard working staff. We were always greeted with a smile and checked in on. The perks of being in the club were worth it, with private pool (adults only) and bbq lunch option each day. We went to beach in the morning- Nora for a massage was great! We also used Erik G (blue google polo shirt) to book a sunset catamaran tour. Erik checked in with us via text and when we saw him at beach the next day- highly recommend! Mita Market had a good variety for breakfast. We enjoyed the Italian, tapas and steakhouse the most for dinner options. Mushroom dishes or apps, and all the seafood was great! Pura vida

Recently stayed for 7 nights in a club level room. The property is beautiful and very very well maintained. Pools were almost spotless and staff were constantly cleaning them through the day. We definitely preferred the pool area at the club and spent little time at the main pool. The beach is nice although we didn’t spend much time there. Our room was very nice and felt very clean. Housekeeping was on top of it and felt like they put in the extra effort. Shoutout to Wilmar! Only negatives to the room are the lighting is very dark and very few hooks to hang wet items. Our tower two concierge team of Jairo and Pablo were fantastic. Very helpful when we needed. Also willing to give us a ride! Biggest downside to the resort is the food and beverages. The food is good but not great by any means. It starts to get very repetitive even for just a 7 night stay. Fasinella was the worst out of the restaurants we tried. We didn’t have a chance to eat at La Sabana as hours were limited and we aren’t big into seafood so we decided to not try Mangular. Cocktails at the speciality restaurants were the highlight but during the day drinks were average. House wines were not great even with the premium liquor upgrade didn’t have an higher end option. Cocktails at Cauri were by far the best. Buffet actually was pretty good. Most impressed by the lunch desserts which we only discovered on our last day. Beach bar tended to get very busy on some nights especially when karaoke was happening but bartenders did a great job keeping up. Massages were very nice and the spa facilities are great. Only downside is after our treatment we went to enjoy the spa pool but it was a bit overrun by residents/beach club members. We took a one hour golf lesson with Oscar and he was great, very patient with us. Definitely recommend and would consider returning for a shorter stay.

We just returned from a wonderful week at the Westin. The resort exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were exceptional. They were very friendly and went out of their way to help in any way possible. We loved spending the morning at the beach and the afternoon by the pool. Staff bring beach chairs on the sand and set up umbrellas if wanted. There is a lot of natural shade from the trees, so umbrellas aren't usually needed. We went kayaking one morning and enjoyed swimming in the ocean. The water is warm and waves are small. The main pool is the size of 6 large resort pools and has lots of shade and chairs available. It has a very tropical feel and you will see birds and iguanas. The swim up bar serves great drinks and there is staff to bring food and drinks if you don't want to leave your chairs. We were able to eat at five of the specialty restaurants for dinner. Bamboo (the Asian restaurant) and Spirula (the Italian restaurant) were our favorites. The food was consistently at a high level, well paced, delicious. We were not able to reserve all of them on the app, but the concierge was able to make additional reservation for us. Mitra is great for breakfast and we loved the pool front restaurant Caricola for lunch. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We were in the premium suites that were close to the beach, pool and restaurants, well worth the extra expense. We used Erik Garcia on the beach to book our trips. He wears a blue google shirt and is one of the first people you will see every day when you enter the beach. We texted him before we arrived and set up trips to Rincon de la Vieja and Palo Verde. When we met in person he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Both trips were private and the guides were terrific. We saw many types of birds, monkeys and even crocodiles. We didn't even pay until the trip began. I would highly recommend using him for excursions. We had considered staying in the La Fortuna area for part of the trip instead of staying at Playa Conchal the whole time, but found that we could have some great day trips and enjoy the amenities of the Westin.

This was our third visit to the Westin Reserva Conchal. We return because the property is gorgeous and well maintained and we love Costa Rica. We enjoy the size of the resort and the ability to walk to a variety of locations on the property. We have always stayed in Club level amenities. The rooms were clean. Bergen (sp) at the adult pool was exceptional. We did notice a decline in service from prior visits, primarily at the restaurants. For example, coffee was rarely refreshed at breakfast, beverages at other meals were never replenished and spills were not adequately cleaned up. We also required WiFi access to complete some work while abroad and WiFi in the rooms was not reliable. We did attempt to address some of these issues and the response we received was “thank you for your comments.”

I sort of felt pushed into this place by my travel agent. I was really hoping to love it, but I did not. I didn’t hate it, but I’ve been to other all inclusive and this one just felt too massive for me and there were also corporate events going on all the time with a bunch of loud douchey Salesman, corporate kinda dudes, yipping, and hollering by the pool bar. Also attracts a lot of golfers and I don’t play golf. Food was mediocre at best. The only good restaurants were bamboo, which was the Asian restaurant and the Spanish restaurant at the top of the hill at the main lobby bar. All the steak and hamburgers were terrible even at the steak place, which was OK. The meat in Costa Rica is just not the same as in the US so avoid it. I stayed at the Westin club adults only section, which was nice with its private pool and private restaurant where we had breakfast every day, but it was far from the beach and the other restaurants. The place was so huge. You really did need to hail a golf cart to get around. As for the beach, it was nice, but don’t expect it to look like the Caribbean. The sand was small tiny shells, and you would sink in when you try to walk the shoreline also the sunset is obscured by the mountains in the area. It’s more like a cove. It is beautiful and relaxing, but keep in mind, It is not private so there are vendors trying to sell you stuff while you’re there. However, you can get a really good massage for $40. I went with Sophia from the orange tent her people were great. I went with all inclusive because after being in law, Fortuna and hiking like crazy I just wanted to relax and not worry about having to have money on me all the time, but in the future, I would not return to this place if I did go to an all-inclusive, I would try to find a smaller more personable type of place.

Check in, for us was not smooth and we learned others also experienced this. They try to “pawn off” less desirable -located rooms. We were kept waiting, albeit at the bar, for a manager. Rooms are all identical. If you are not traveling with kids, I recommend adult section or if you are in different section, ask who is above (or below) you. Also make sure you are on the second floor so you can enjoy balcony! Food is hit or miss. We found that apps were much better than the mains. Spirula just okay-Faisanella was good and the lunch was great food! Bamboo is the only restaurant that feels like a restaurant and not “all-inclusivy”Lovely staff too. Shuttles always available. Hike activity lovely. Yoga on the beach great. Enjoy

My husband and I just returned from a 6 day stay at the Westin. It was a wonderful experience. The service was excellent and all of our needs were met promptly and always with a smile! We stayed in Tower 1 at the club level and have no complaints at all about our accommodations. The adult pool was great and there were always enough lounge chairs. Poolside service kept our drinks filled and the burgers at the swim up bar were the best! The only reason my review is 4 stars is that the restaurant food is mediocre. We expected that however (from pre-trip reviews) so we weren’t disappointed. The Tower 1 concierge, Javier, was always available and ready to help us with all needs. He knew that one of the days was my birthday and we returned from an excursion to find a bottle of wine and a delicious birthday cake in our room. The wildlife at the resort are very fun to watch. Howler monkeys, Coati, and iguana, etc. Monkeys are seen (and heard) in the mornings and evenings and are plentiful. We went on 2 very fun excursions (private ATV trip and snorkeling/sunset catamaran cruise) which we booked through Erik G, who you can find on the beach. We highly recommend him. He was honest and reliable and the excursions were reasonable. He follows through and stays in touch about details. He wears a blue shirt that has Google on the front. You will see him as you walk out of the resort onto the beach. Can’t go wrong with him! The beach is public so locals are selling souvenirs and will ask you to buy from them but will back off if you tell them no. Also highly recommend the beach massages. They are locals and give the best massage I have ever had for a reasonable 40.00 for an hour. I had 4 of them while we were there and my husband had 2. The only reason he didn’t have more is because he got sunburned 😊. We recommend the family with the green shirts, (Jose, Kelly, Sarah). Bring lots of sunscreen because it’s very expensive at the resort. Overall our experience was fantastic and we hope to return again next year. Pura Vida!!

My wife and I stayed in Tower 2, The Westin Club from March 15 to the 22nd. We had a great experience! The 2 concierge's Javier and Jeffrery were extremely helpful and made our stay so easy, they made sure we had everything we need and even booked our zipline and catamaran boat charter for us. The resort is well designed and the grounds are really beautiful. The food experience was mostly really good, very friendly staff. Stay at the Westin Club which is adults only, it is worth it! pura vida!
