We had a wonderful stay at this charming bed & breakfast in Woodstock. It was our first visit to Woodstock. The inn is beautiful and wonderfully furnished. Our room, No. 3, had a small fireplace which made the evenings even more special. Heather, the owner with her husband, is a delight and a trained chef. She shared some special items from her recent trip to Little Italy in NYC at breakfast, which was an extra nice touch. We stayed 4 nights and each breakfast was delicious. We considered staying at the Woodstock Inn and so glad we chose the Village Inn instead. We had one dinner at the Woodstock Inn and it was great and the hotel is beautiful. However, it was also very busy with people filling the lobby and all public spaces. The Village Inn was perfect for us to be able to relax. Our only regret is that we didn’t dine at the Village Inn for dinner as we had already made reservations for all of our dinners. It and the bar are quite popular with locals and we will definitely “eat in” on our next visit. Thank you Heather!

We knew instantly that The Village Inn of Woodstock was our kinda place. It has Victorian charm throughout, combined with modern day comfort. Check in was so warm and friendly, thanks to Heather ( owner) that we immediately felt at home... Have we met before???? Our room was cosy, clean and very comfortable. Best of all is the delicious food served in the charming dining room. With the cracking wee bar serving the best cocktails in the next room, who would want to be anywhere else. The friendliness of the staff is proof that what they are doing here is working, and working very well indeed. Ps... As former guest house owners in Scotland, we appreciate how hard everyone works and the pride they take in providing a great experience for all guests. Well done Heather, Jarred, family and staff.

We loved the Village Inn in Woodstock. Great place to experience the magical town of Woodstock especially during the Wassail Weekend. I wanted to have a Hallmark Christmas Moment and this visit definitely fit the bill! Heather and her wonderful staff treated us like family (or maybe even a bit better!! ) They made our joint birthday celebrations so special. The breakfasts were wonderful. The room was great with all its personal touches. If we needed anything all we had to do was ask. Everyone who stayed there were fun and easy to visit with over breakfast or drinks in the afternoon by the fire place. We ate dinner at Vic's Tavern the first night and it was amazing! We dined at a few other places based on Heather's recommendations and they were wonderful. I am so glad she reminded me a few weeks prior to our visit to make reservations since it was a busy weekend for the quaint town. Definitely recommend the Village Inn in Woodstock and Vic's Tavern to anyone looking for something special in Woodstock.

We loved the historic charm of this B&B. Our room was beautiful with nice linens and we enjoyed the hot breakfasts each day. The owner was pleasant and seems fun. We wish we could have enjoyed dinner here but the tavern was as closed that evening. Some negatives were…very small bathroom and shower. Very little space to put luggage. Our TV was mounted to a wall on the side of our bed which made viewing uncomfortable. We watched TV on our laptop instead, not ideal. Also our room was near the road-which was very loud starting extremely early in the morning. The sound machine was a nice thought but did not drown out the noise much at all.

The Village Inn is one of our favorite B&Bs in Woodstock. The home is charm throughout and has a number of unique architectural features. The room was cozy and comfortable and the linens, soaps, and lotions were great. Heather, the owner/chef was warm and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious, especially the strata with mushrooms, carmelized onion, and a light, crisp layer of cheese on top, as well as the bacon. For dinner that weekend they had a creole inspired menu. The shrimp and corn bisque was a delicious. I had the scallop Etouffe, which had amazing flavors and my husband had the gumbo that was rich, smoky, and wonderful! The inn has a lovely small tavern onsite, as well. I highly recommended the Village Inn in Woodstock, not only is it a great B&B but it has one of the best restaurants in town!

If I could rate the Village Inn at 3.5 I would do that, but since I have to choose between average and very good I have to go with average. On the plus side for this Inn is the location. Everything in town is walking distance from the Inn. For me the negatives of my stay here outweigh the positives making a future stay unlikely. In contrast to what other posters have written I found the innkeeper to be fairly disinterested in us as guests. We saw her briefly, once at check in and then for a few minutes on first day of our 4 night stay. She answered a few questions but offered nothing regarding how best to explore and enjoy the Woodstock area. She certainly was not a warm and welcoming host. The stay includes a breakfast and I found this a little disappointing as well. We had the earlier of two seatings offered. The breakfasts were not elaborate nor generous. Despite the online description stating that there is always an alternative to the main offering we were told by our server that there was not. This includes the juice offering. Orange juice on day one but then only apple juice for the rest of our stay. We were told by our server on one morning that there were no sides to the eggs other than toast because "this is all we have left". Furthermore the toast was always hard like it had been toasted much earlier and left to sit. The room we stayed was of adequate size but the bed was far from adequate. The mattress was clearly a bit older and very lumpy. It was also creaky and very uncomfortable to sleep on despite the nice bedding. The tiny bathroom was the worst part of the stay. Although we made do, it was just way too small to be a comfortable space for two adults for more than a one night stay. There was no servicing of the room while we stayed. We did ask for and receive fresh towels but the older ones were not taken and started to pile up after a couple of days. I would have asked if they could be left outside our room but I never saw anyone at the reception desk to ask. All in all I felt that the quality of the stay was not commensurate with the high price.

Great accomodations and service
We had a wonderful time here for two nights in September. The Inn is beautifully decorated, and the food is great. Heather took great care of us and our room was so comfy. Very comfortable bed, easy walk to everything. We would definitely stay again!

The room was large and nicely appointed with nice sheets, soft towels , bathroom toiletries and even a sound machine. My husband enjoyed breakfast each morning and we had drinks at the bar one evening when it was open. Free parking was a treat being so close to the town. Highly recommended, would definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful, relaxing, and romantic 3 nights at the Village Inn. The owner/proprietor Heather is welcoming, friendly, and as it turns out, the chef. That worked well for breakfast (pancakes or waffles in the morning, or eggs any way you want them) and at the Vic Restaurant where we had dinner one night. It’s a small and casual menu; the tarragon chicken salad was so delicious. I had it on salad, my husband had it on a sandwich. Drinks are creative, the wine list decent. The rooms at the Inn are lovely. We were in Room 2 with a bedroom, sitting room and porch. It’s on the main road and noisy but there’s a sound machine to help block out the nose. That worked! Stay here rather than the very large place in town and you will be happy with your choice.

The place had “olde worlde” charm in abundance, like stepping into an antique shop with modern facilities. We stayed in room 2 which had a sitting room , bedroom and porch( covered balcony for UK guests) great for chilling even in the rain . If you’re not used to traffic noise (we are) then look to going in another room , it was noisy in the day . Also you dont get to choose breakfast, they had been specially made but the first morning my husband had two breakfasts as it wasn’t to my taste . Tell heather, who is an excellent host. Also if the restaurant is open eat in , excellent. Called the Vic . Enjoyed our stay

Staying at the Village Inn of Woodstock was a highlight of our 10 day New England adventure! Woodstock is such a quaint town, and the Village Inn was overflowing with warmth, charm and hospitality. Heather, the owner, was an amazing host and incredible chef. She served the most wonderful gourmet breakfasts each day, included in the room cost, and you won't be disappointed if you also make reservations for dinner too. We had such a great experience we've already booked a long weekend here in December so we can soak in the Hallmark-esque Christmas wonder of Wassail Weekend and be treated to what will surely be a beautifully decorated Village Inn!

What a great experience. Everything about our weekend getaway was great. So fortunate to find this Inn. Our room was quint, very clean, had all we needed and very comfortable. The bed, pillows and bedding were cozy. Slept awesome. We ate dinner there one night. Awesome food. The menu when we were there was Mexican. The salsa flight was great, the star of that being guacamole, wow. The beef fajitas, tasty and tender. The perk of breakfast was surprising, they were outstanding! Now, for my biggest compliment and thanks, the people at the Inn. Heather, the owner and chef. Wow, personable. kind, fun and incredible chef. Alice, fun, she instantly felt like a friend, and by the way, makes the best guacamole on the planet. Sawyer,Naomi and Marge took care of us when we returned to the Inn in the evening. Great drinks were made, service outstanding and they were all a lot of fun. Great way to end our nights. Alice, Will and Lana sent us off on our last morning with the best breakfast. Highly recommend. We will return. Thanks for making it the best.

This Inn is just charming. The owners are a really welcoming, delightful couple who make the experience of staying with them so exceptional. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and beautifully decorated. We stayed for two nights and ate dinner there both nights as well as breakfast, of course. The dinner menu was Thai and we especially loved the chicken satay. The atmosphere was very cozy and it was so nice just having to walk upstairs after dinner. Breakfasts were delicious, with a lot of locally sourced products. We even loved Heather’s playlist. Definitely would stay here again.

Heather (the owner) takes pride in every aspect of her B&B. The place is so cozy, infused with great detail. The breakfast was superb. Her B&B fits in well with the town of Woodstock, which is right out of a Hallmark Movie. We would absolutely stay there again.

Inn was beautiful. Comfortable mattress and very clean and quiet. Dinner was wonderful as was breakfast. The owner and staff made us feel so welcome. The inn is convenient to many shops and restaurants within walking distance. We look forward to returning soon.
Great B&B for a VT getaway.
Beautiful B&B. Owner's are very friendly and attentive. Quiet and relaxing place for a long weekend within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Half hour trip to Okemo Mountain. One of the few VT B&B's with an option for wood fireplace room. Highly recommend.
