One of a kind transcendent experience in Santorini

Hard to find a comparison point for a five room luxury hotel created out of a mansion built in 1780 out on the caldera cliff in Firostefani, located literally on the best view of the caldera on the island, where each room is filled with real art and feels more like a home than a hotel. Obviously idiosyncratic and certainly not for everyone, it was the most transcendent hotel experience either of us have ever had. The proprietors and the staff are amazing, the sunsets are overwhelming, and the intimacy of the experience is incredible.

We LOVED our stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by George, we knew we were in for a very special and memorable experience. With only 5 rooms in the entire “hotel”, the experience was personal and exceptional. George welcomed us with a thorough tour of the hotel, and provided some fascinating history of the property and the art collections spread throughout the property of which each room had its own “theme”. Our room was immaculate, and beautifully decorated with art, sculptures…as if we were staying in the room of a private collectors home. Each morning we were brought a delicious breakfast (that we could order that morning and that was included in the cost of our stay) to be delivered by the most attentive and professional staff to our balcony - a balcony that overlooked the Aegean Sea. Spectacular views could be seen on our balcony of the breathtaking Santorini white buildings landscape. Everything you would expect to see but BETTER and from the comfort of our private balcony. Each night we drank delicious specialty cocktails prepared by the bartenders and enjoyed the sunset. Peaceful and perfect. No foot traffic or interruptions by other guests and passerbys from our balcony! The hotel pool was absolutely stunning overlooking the sea. The pool essentially felt like our own private pool given the hotels boutique nature, with occasionally one other room using it while we were there. George made excellent restaurant recommendations on the island, and we had what felt like “the best” tables at each of the places arranged by our hotel. Ultimately, all the staff were so friendly, professional, attentive and knowledgeable. Shout outs to George and Eleni, Mondi, Alex, the breakfast and pool team, the housekeeping staff… Oh, and I can’t forget to mention that I contacted the hotel prior to our arrival to let them know it was my husband‘s birthday. At the end of our initial tour with George, when George brought us to our room and unlocked the door, we were surprised with an incredible, gorgeous, and insanely tasty heart-shaped cake in honor of my husbands birthday. George proceeded to light a candle and we celebrated the birthday with this amazing cake. We kept the cake for the duration of our four days stay in the refrigerator and every night had another piece. Was seriously one of the best desserts we had our entire trip. :) We truly loved it here and I teared up when we were checking out to leave. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE TSITOURAS COLLECTION HOTEL. I would return tomorrow if I could without hesitation.

I feel a bit bad leaving such an honest review because George and the staff were great. Please note that I only want to improve the experience of future guests. We stayed here for 5 nights. They truly made us feel special and treated us like family. If you needed anything, they would have it to you within 5-10 minutes. George helped us with scheduling transportation, massages, directions, and sooo many recommendations. Sunsets cocktails are very yummy and the breakfast was good. There was quite the spread of food! The A/C worked great inside of the room. The location was great and we felt very safe here. We had high expectations for this place. It’s a top rated, 4 star hotel here in Santorini. We have stayed at many, many places and were very disappointed with the cleanliness of our room. We were absolutely baffled that no other review mentioned this issue…. When we arrived, it was obvious that the room was not cleaned properly. I immediately noticed that the dining tables weren’t even wiped down. There was residue on it from the previous guests. The floors weren’t cleaned well, the furniture was stained and dingy, the headboard had white stuff on it (I don’t even want to know what),the bathroom mirror was dirty, and the small bottles of soap were previously used. There was long black hair in the bathrooms, on the walls, and the floor. We noticed all of this within 10 minutes of being in the suite. It made us feel uneasy. It makes you wonder if the towels and bedding were not changed/cleaned as well. The towels and robes are in desperate need of replacing. They are hard, stiff, and scratchy. Not the normal fluffy and nice towels/robes that every nice hotel has. The pillows and bed was ok. Not the most comfortable, but it was fine. There was black stuff on the walls in the shower. Not sure if it’s mold or what it is. The Wi-Fi only worked in the sitting area. The lounge chairs at the pool were stained. The pool was too cold to swim in (no heater) and there was no hot tub. My hope is that management sees this review and takes action. I only want to improve the experience of future guests!

Truly 5 star service. Everyone on staff was so attentive to every need you could have. The views were amazing and the location was great. Cannot recommend enough.Breakfast was fresh every morning, rooms were always spotless and stocked. George and Elani made this place an oasis.

Effortless pampered, relaxed and taken care of like family. This is not just a five-star hotel villa. This is a place that will heal your soul and bring you back to life. While everything here is first class, it is the people, the team at Tsitouras, that truly makes this the most special of places. George, Elena, Mongi and team make you feel like you are their only guests and they anticipate your every need. There is no need to stay elsewhere in Santorini but I hope enough people do so there is always room for us! We are grateful for the gift you gave us in a truly recuperative vacation.

Honestly, I'm not even sure what to say that would do justice to this incredible, wonderful place. First, before we even arrived, we worked with Eleni to plan activities. She was responsive and helpful, and she gave great recommendations. And everything she arranged for us was top notch. Then, once we arrived, we were blown away by the incredible beauty of the hotel. The view is so ridiculously gorgeous that it is almost unbelievable -- we felt lucky that we had a private space to view the sunsets and didn't have to be jostled by the crowds. The rooms are comfortable, very well appointed, and are full of priceless art. They did such a nice job of mixing modern comfort and classical style. Throughout our stay, the entire staff treated us like royalty and took care of every detail. From made to order omelets for breakfast, to room service lunch, to sunset cocktails on the patio. All of the food was delicious. And George was such a wonderful host. It is clear that he takes great pride in the hotel and that he is passionate about making sure his guests are well cared for. He had great recommendations for restaurants and took care of booking reservations -- and when they know George sent you, you get the best seat in the house and exceptional service. When we hiked to Oia, George was ready with instructions, a map, and bottled water. He completely spoiled us. I literally can't rave enough. When we go back to Santorini, I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. This really raised the bar on what I expect from a luxury stay. Just book it, you won't regret it.
