Outstanding holiday in Mexico City at the St. Regis. Paulina at the front desk went above and beyond to find an excellent room for us overlooking the Diana. Gabriella made sure we were able to book last minute on arrival for the Day of the Dead parade brunch (which was delicious) and also a great view. Tohm, the Manager on Duty was superb and really made sure we had a great experience. Emiliano and Luiz were absolute legends in the Old King Cole bar where we ended up on many nights; and Eduardo and the porters were all amazing and welcoming every day. Housekeeping was excellent and our room kept spotless and fresh everyday including nightly Lindt chocolates. The champagne sabre service was a lot of fun; the pool and gym were excellent. Thanks for a great stay. We’ll be back for sure!

We had a large, comfortable room with a king bed and a couch. The large bathroom included a shower, wholly separate bathtub, and two sinks. There’s a good exercise room open 24 hours a day, and a spa. Housekeeping came by twice a day. All very nice. What really made the hotel stand out was the service. When we asked for something ordinary or unusual, everyone was helpful. I’ve stayed at many hotels and never needed any special services (other than ordinary housekeeping). Some hotels fail on the service side. I’ve concluded in the end that it’s service that distinguishes the top hotels and not the basic facilities. There were some things I didn’t like so much, but they were not enough to diminish the rating For example, the plugs at the desk. There was one. There were other plugs around the room in less convenient locations that would have served in a pinch. Luckily, I travel with a triple tap, and that solves a lot of problems. The desk needs a power strip, a common deficiency at hotels, grand and otherwise. The bathroom was fine, but it could have benefited from a shelf or two and more hooks on the wall. Lighting controls in the room were confusing. All minor issues. The elevators were.... unfriendly. You need to take one elevator to the lobby and another to your room. I assume that this was all for security so I don’t really object. But it’s unsettling to call the elevator and then get into it and find no button for the floor you want. You select your floor before you get in. Not terrible, but a common topic of conversation among guests and mildly disorienting at first. Finally, Mexico City is noisy. That's nothing that anyone in the hotel can address, but the horns and cycles were very audible in our seventh floor room. They should have done a better job soundproofing. All quibbles. Still a solid five stars.

The service staff made our six night stay thoroughly enjoyable. The staff at the Concierge desk, shout out to Arturo, was very kind and helpful with their suggestions. The young women at Diana's front desk at breakfast were very friendly and genuinely enjoyed hearing about our day's adventures. Our butlers (rotating staff) helped with garment pressing and were very friendly. We took advantage of the hot tub and pool after a long day of museums and walks through lovely neighborhoods. There are so many great restaurants in Mexico City that we didn't have a chance to try any of the restaurants other than Diana for breakfast. Buffet had nice selection although the pastries were not as good as those we found at bakeries around the City.

We did partial points + cash for our 4 night stay. We also got the suite night awards upgrade to a palatial 1 bedroom suite that was bigger than houses we have lived in. Everyone gets a butler (or rotating team, depending on time of day). We interacted most with Butler Efren - what a gem he is! Imagine a young, latino Jeff Goildblum in a fancy butler uniform with gold buttons. He was so kind to bring us some extra of the Mexican candy that was in the room on our arrival, so I could bring some home to my family. This was a wonderful property with a good size workout gym, an indoor pool., lovely restaurants. In fact when we got there, room wasn't ready so they treated us to a full lunch at the casual balcony restaurant, which was tasty and replenishing after our trip. Maid service was impeccable and timely. We even ordered a room service dinner one night and it was good and less expensive than several of the upscale restaurants we went to. It's also a very safe property. At ground floor there are armed security guards and plenty of valets. Lobby is on third floor with lots of desk agents and concierges. The only weird thing is that the shower and WC rooms in the huge bathroom had little to no lighting - it was like a nightlight near the floor, so you poop and shower in the dark. Beautiful views overlooking La Reforma. Be warned that the Marriott site does not list the full charges and taxes, so we were charged $900USD/night for 2 of our 4 nights (other 2 on points). Convenient location. Highly recommend.

The hotel is located in a safe area near attractions. I debated booking at tge newer Ritz Carlton but chose the St Regis based on reviews. Overall service was exemplary all accept for housekeeping. We left at 8 am for a tour of Teotihuacan put on our please make the room light. Returned at 4pm to room not cleaned. We called and they sent someone up right away, but when we came back they had left all the trash they collected in the room. The hotel management apologized profusely and sent up a gift for the mishap. The hotel is starting to show a bit of wear and tear. If I went back id try the Ritz!

We stayed at the St Regis for four nights in January during our time in CDMX and it was instantly a home away from home. We loved our time there and my only regret(s) are that I cannot remember the name of each and every team member to acknowledge individually and that we couldn’t stay longer. We were greeted warmly every time we returned to the hotel. Our requests - either by Bonvoy app chat or after stopping by the concierge desk - were instantly addressed. Housekeeping was wonderful - our room was made up each day no matter when we came back (they always beat us!) and turn down snuck in before we returned in the evenings. While perhaps dated, the rooms are spacious and have everything you could want within reach. Big fluffy towels and robes, thoughtful bathroom amenities, reliable wifi, strong water pressure and a wonderful dreamy bed with massive pillows that made it very hard to crawl out each morning. The staff, however, are what make this hotel so special and next level. The doormen, the front desk staff, the team of butlers and the concierges all helped create a memorable stay for us. We would happily and readily return at the next opportunity.
