This was the most beautiful experiences of our lives! St. Regis Bora Bora was beautiful. Everything about our stay was magical. We were treated like celebrities the entire stay. Our over water bungalow was huge and so romantic. We had bikes that made it so easy to see the whole resort. Snorkeling in the Lagoonarium was magnificent. All the restaurants were top notch.

We are still processing our time spent at this resort and honestly we did have a good time but not because of anything special at St Regis. It was the beauty, the locals, and the activities that were special which is something we could have gotten anywhere in this beautiful location. Pros: the property is beautiful and well maintained, it is a very large resort and enjoyable to explore, the adult pool is serene and was convenient to our room, The Beach Boys were so helpful and friendly, the views of Mt Otemanu from the spa and Lagoonarium were spectacular!, the Lagoonarium was so peaceful and enjoyable with so many beautiful fish (just be careful with the snorkeling gear as it tore my mouth up and gave me sores on my gums), the staff for the most part are very accommodating and desiring of making your stay enjoyable, we appreciated having multiple restaurants to choose from, the convenience of Vitamin Sea sailing catamaran for trips was wonderful; they park their boat at the St Regis dock so other resorts have to boat people over but we got first pick of seats, the sunrise was beautiful from our room 312. We enjoyed the canoe breakfast, it was beautifully arrange on our table (without our privacy screen - see below) but again my husbands allergies were not acknowledged and mango was in his fruit bowl (nut allergies can become serious issues, I am thankful I brought Benadryl!), The morning butler coffee service every day was lovely (LOVED their hot chocolate and French Press Decaf) - we may have misunderstood our butler so we don't want to list as a con, but we had to call every day to have this delivered (I thought it was a one time order at the beginning) But, we would call usually around 6 AM and within twenty minutes they would have fresh hot wake-up beverages at our door, set up by a lovely lady. Cons: upon arrival we got whisked away on a tour of the property that took an hour or so, we were so exhausted and hungry from not getting a good lunch in Tahiti, we also had a massage scheduled at 5 but couldn't check in till 4 so everything was so rushed and opposite of relaxing and romantic. This unfortunate waste of our time also forced us to have to order food to be delivered (with an extra fee and not included in our meal package) to the spa ($78 for one large piece of bread with veggies and fruit plate) I have health issues that I cannot go without food and the stress of not being able to eat due to the extended tour and rushing us around was very difficult (thankfully they had small snacks that kept my blood sugar level until we ate our overpriced room service). We expected a relaxing and romantic getaway and I can say from the start that is not what we got. When we got to our room the bikes were missing and the butler (Kenny) had to call for them to be found. we were immediately disappointed in the quality of the room, for the price paid (15k) for this once in a lifetime trip our room should have been so much nicer/cleaner but we made the mistake of choosing St Regis over 4 Seasons (something I wanted to do a month prior to arriving at reading other similar reviews). The room had bugs (cockroaches and who knows what else), the slider never fully closed letting in mosquitos, the bathroom furniture was broken, the toilet bubbles during showers and had to be flushed during showers to avoid not overflowing, shower never drained, the faucet water in the bathroom started smelling like sewage toward the end of our stay, we could hear every time someone else flushed down line, the lighting is terrible, the privacy/sun screen was completely missing and they never fixed it even though two of our butlers said they would be coming the next day to replace it, there were stains on furniture I don't know of what. Housekeeping only cleaned and turned our room over in the late afternoon AFTER we had to request it every day. The first day I think was my husbands fault, he left the privacy door bag on, but otherwise we avoided leaving it on because we wanted it cleaned. This was very inconvenient as we shouldn't be in the room and bothered when they come. We were constantly overheated and wanting to retreat to the room for privacy and yet wanted a clean room so spent most days waiting and going back and forth between the room and hot/humid resort to hope for house keeping. They offered us an upgrade to a deluxe that Tuesday (208) but made us wait till 4 Pm to check in even though we had a sunset cruise pickup at 4:55, we were picked up at 4:15 rushed to the room then found bugs in the bed (they swear it's not bed bugs and we couldn't find any type of bug that resembled what we found). We refused to risk it and they had to rush us back to our old room, the food is very bland and borderline gross. Food is way overpriced ($36 for a cookie!) DO NOT BUY THE COSTCO DINNER PACKAGE it was a complete waste of our money ($1800) because there is no microwave in the rooms and any leftovers (which you'll have tons) was a total waste, the serving sizes are double so save money and share starters and mains and desserts; reserve things yourself (like Vitamin Sea through Marriot Bonvoy - you'll also get points) because anything reserved via the concierge they charge an extra fee for (I think they work on commission but may be wrong about that), the locals are so friendly and a couple of the French staff are too (Maitre d' of Bamboo was a sweetheart, the French beach boys are too, we also LOVED Florina our morning butler) but most of the French women waitresses at Aparima Bar were rude and we did not appreciate them, the views of the mountain are no where near as good as other resorts and the layout of the property does not accentuate the beautiful mountain. (Unlike 4 seasons), the quality for cost is not there and we do not believe this hotel deserves five stars by anyone let alone Forbes. I thought 15k was a lot to spend for a ten year anniversary but I guess not! They do not communicate allergies or celebrations, no acknowledgement of our anniversary aside from a bottle of champagne (which we cannot drink due to heat) and fruit (which comes with our paid for Costco package and my husband cannot eat because he is allergic to Mango which we told them in the pre arrival survey!) When we told our butler on arrival Kenny seemed alarmed and like he did not even know this. We filled out the special survey and communicated our 10 year anniversary, the tree nut allergies and mango allergies, and that we do not eat fish or seafood but we had to keep communicating them every time we saw staff. No one seemed to know we were there for our 10 year anniversary which is disappointing as their entire tag line is refinement/elegance/romance in a 5-star resort, this was not a romantic environment or trip. Go to the 4 Seasons or Thalasso. We shared our concerns and complaints with the manager in our review directly to the resort and the manager was apologetic and acknowledged several points we made as helpful feedback, but otherwise that is all. I noticed they gave us 7k Marriot Bonvoy points (not even enough to cover one night at their hotel) but I guess it is a sort of apology?

If you are trying to decide between St. Regis or the Westin, then let me explain why you should spend the money. The rooms are MASSIVE! The Westin rooms are the size of our bathrooms. The breakfast buffet was maybe one of the best I have ever experienced, and I have done a lot of luxury traveling. The entire resort is so incredible. There are kids here, but at this time, I haven't been annoyed with them screaming and running around the pool areas. All of the beach toys are in great shape, as well as the bikes you are loaned to get around the resort. If you are person who needs constant stimulation, I would offer that Bora Bora may be too boring for you and you should instead try Disney. If you can disconnect and actually relax, than please stay at the St. Regis. Chloe was our personal butler (her own term, not mine) and she was on top of EVERY PIECE of our trip. We were left with no questions at all, and she met all of our requests before we even knew we had them. We came here as a vacation, not a honeymoon, or a wedding, but just a regular vacation. I'm so glad we didn't need a special occasion to justify this trip, and honestly, I think Bora Bora may be even more special than many of the islands of Hawaii. If you are interested in peaceful tranquility and going on tours that aren't packed with 30 other people, than Bora Bora should be at the top of your list.

From the moment we landed at the Airport we were warmly greeted and given amazing smelling flower necklaces, we checked in around 9am and was taken to breakfast and a tour of the property even though check in for us should have been 11am. We went snorkeling in the huge lagoon with fishes all around us. Once we dried up we were informed our room was ready at 1pm a whole two hours early. Our Butler Violine or Vio as everyone calls her was truly amazing, there wasn't anything she couldn't do for us, i totally burned my back day 1 and by day 3 was dying, she ordered Biofine from the island and had it delivered in 45 minutes to our room and then told me about a product that saved our trip, a long sleeve tshirt for swimming that has sunblock in the fibers, it allowed me to go on our jet ski excursion and our snorkeling one too. Either our over water bungalow was well maintained or other ones are in worse shape than ours but the rooms were still luxurious, yes they are not up to date but still extremely comfortable and huge. Extremely powerful and quiet AC system. Food wise you might get bored when you stay there over 5 or 6 days but honestly the food is top quality, and please order the butter chicken, its def a hidden gem. take advantage of all the cultural activities that go on daily. Dont be surprised that everyone knows you on first and last name basis, they make sure all staff know everyone there. The General Manager is an extremely nice lady who gave us an even more in depth tour than our Butler did and would check in on us every other day which was truly amazing. In room dining is extremley fast never waiting more than 30 minutes. Def book the lagoon restaurant if you have booked your trip through costco bc itll only cost you 25 more a person. Even before we left we were already planning our return trip, something we never even think about.

I can’t say enough about how incredible our stay was at St Regis over the Christmas holidays. They really do go above and beyond for your vacation experience. The butler service was great. The beauty of the landscape was amazing. Perfectly situated to view Mt. Otemanu from our OWB. It was so peaceful and romantic. Never did anywhere on the grounds feel crowded. The grounds are so beautiful! Did I say that already?! Well it’s worth repeating. The Lagoonarium with the Napoleon fish and getting to snorkel with him was a thrill. The Oasis pool area was romantic and lovely. The breakfast buffet each morning was superb! Staff was so friendly and made us feel at home. We really appreciate that as we did not get that when we visited Mo’orea. The sweet touches they provided like flowers on the bed and awesome sweet treats left for us for our 15th anniversary celebration was very nice. St. Regis made our stay in Bora Bora one I will cherish forever. Before we went we thought this would be a once in a lifetime trip, but now we are planning a second stay at St. Regis. It was that amazing.

My wife and I stayed here in November 2024. This was by far the most incredible vacation we have ever had. We booked thru Pacific for Less and everything was perfect, from when we landed at the airport the St. Regis took care of our every need. Our butler, Deana found us at breakfast every morning to make sure we had everything we needed for the day. Our villa #301 was superb. We can't wait to return to paradise. Pictures don't do this resort justice. Call Pacific for less and book your dream trip now. The St. Regis goes above and beyond to take care of all of their guest. Every employee we interacted with was outgoing and professional. The spa was the best I have ever been too, and I get a spa treatment on all of our vacations. The spa grounds are an awsome place to just relax and swim in the lagoon. You can just forget about everything in life and really connect with nature and your partner.

First time to Bora Bora. I stay 150+ nights per year in higher end Bonvoy properties. We stayed a week in an over water villa. Trying to write a fair review for a $2500/night room. Keep in mind most of the hotels on Bora Bora are equally expensive. My abbreviated review: PROS: Huge rooms - we are told biggest in the South pacific. Great covered deck out back to spend your days. Great water pressure - shower was excellent. Comfy bed - slept well every night Good blackout blinds Bikes - these were great for getting around which can be long distances Nice service at higher end restaurants - Far Niente and Bamboo had the best 727 bar drinks and view - incredible Food at bamboo was on par with "nicer" restaurants in the US Mainland Lagoon - sheltered area to snorkel and see tons of fish Views - not a bad view form any room really. This IS paradise. Great gym that's been redone. CONS: Every part of the resort (minus the gym) needs a full remodel. Rooms are 10+ years past their prime. Cleaners yell across the rooms and its quite annoying when you are trying to enjoy a peaceful day. Rooms need redone - literally every part of the room (minus the mattress) needs a full refresh. Floors, tile, windows, shades, sinks, counters, furniture, everything. Towels are Courtyard quality, at best No mention of birthday. I booked 9 months in advance for my 50th and no one mentioned this on arrival. Asked me several times "why are you here". Inexcusable. Breakfast exact same every day. EXACTLY. Well, the juice of the day was different. Pools too deep or too shallow. The pools plain sucked. You either tread water or you sit down and have 70% of your body out of the water. VERY odd. Horrible design times two pools. Butler service: A joke. We spoke with ours twice. They claim (and advertise) they will unpack for you. Simply not true. In the end we would not return. When you have a lacking hard product (the rooms are dated) you smother your guests with service. At times we felt absolutely invisible. With a better hard product this resort would be a contender. However the other options are better for now.

A very beautiful hotel, and we were taken care of by one of the female butlers as soon as we arrived. She took us in a golf buggy to show us all facilities, restaurants and everything around the hotel. Too much information. The bungalow over water was stunning, and when we arrived at the room, our butler showed us a list, where she had booked all dinners for the 5 days, at the hotels restaurants, and at 5:30 pm. Like we had nothing to say about where we wanted to eat or timing. We changed the timing, thanks for that. She offered free coffee and tea at any time we wanted. We booked it for 9 am. the next morning, and it never showed up. The same next morning, and we were complaining. We also wanted some extra water bottles to the room, and we needed to call again. It took more than an hour before they arrived. And what we saw, the butlers were running around and saying sorry to people all the time, and especially when people sat down with their breakfast. OMG, who wants a butler in the face when you try to eat.. It happened all the time. And it was extremely expensive, we have been to so many 5* hotels, but here they need some upgrades, and routines must be changed. The boys at the beach were amazing and all other stuff, exept the butler services.

Three stars My wife and I went to the St. Regis Bora Bora in Oct. 2024 for our 25th anniversary. Given the cost (both in terms of $ and time / effort) to do this was high, the bar for us was high as well. Here’s a summary of our experience. The Good: - Lagoon restaurant - not cheap (and not included in packages which included dinner either) but well worth it, amazing experience - Bamboo restaurant - while it's no Lagoon, it was probably the #2 dining experience on the property, and importantly, it’s included in the package if you have one. - Spa - pretty expensive but really good as well, if you don’t mind dropping >$300 on a massage, then this is worth the price of admission - Boat tour - we did a two hour sunset cruise and it was a highlight. Crazy expensive but worth it at least for us. - Physical environment - Bora Bora, and the property itself, are amazing, full stop. There is no bad view from anywhere that we saw. That said, honestly you don’t have to stay at the St. Regis to enjoy this, it’s inescapable. - Hotel staff - generally speaking everyone there is super nice and courteous. - Further to the above, the house cleaning staff is great! While we had mixed experiences for different parts of the property, interestingly the housecleaning folks were wonderful! They magically slip in whenever you are gone, (usually breakfast) and you come back to a nice clean villa and they even straighten up bathrooms, organize stuff, etc. They are also super pleasant and very happy almost to a person. We enjoyed them! - Morning in-room coffee service - a nice thing to wake up to! Just dial the magic #9 on your phone and the butlers will bring you coffee service to your room each morning. - Dedicated bikes for each villa - a nice feature as the property is pretty spread out, probably too far to walk back and forth all the time. The Okay: - Aparima Bar / dining - for the caliber of the property, this experience overall is pretty so-so. There were too many times to count where we’d ask the waitstaff for something which they would enthusiastically acknowledge and then promptly forget. Happened most days at least once or twice. They don’t seem to have systems for things, like the simple idea of writing things down, etc. Also at least to the American palette, the cuisine was just okay. For example for breakfast (and this is the only place on property you can get breakfast), lots of high fat / high calories pasties, just a couple of actual main dish types things that seemed to rotate every couple of days - “Butlers” - so when you get there you are whisked away for a golf cart tour of the property by your “butler” and then they are supposed to help you get all set up for whatever activities you want to do while you are there, etc. That said, it’s not really clear what they are supposed to be doing vs. the concierge folks, etc. Our butler would appear here and there and then disappear for a couple of days. It was hard for us to tell whether they work on commission for booking activities or something. I finally asked the hotel mgmt. And apparently it's the concierge folks who work on commission, and butlers don’t. Net net, we just didn’t totally get the butler thing. - Villa deferred maintenance - we stayed in two different villas (see below on bugs) and while they are generally very nice, they both also had noticeable deferred maintenance needs. Floors (esp. In bathrooms) definitely had water damage / softspots. There were several times I stepped on individual floor boards that would pop up and out on the other end. Also noticeable scrapes on floors, drapes didn’t really work for all windows, etc. The Ugly: - Bugs! - we had swarms of white, winged bugs flying around in our first villa for the first few nights. It didn’t dawn on me at first but turns out they were termites! I talked to the management and it sounds like this is a pretty common issue in Bora Bora but it was still very unpleasant. They moved us to a larger villa (with a private pool!) for the last few days but we traded termites for cockroaches! (only a few though). Also got eaten alive by mosquitos every evening that we want out anywhere. We brought several types of strong bug spray and nothing touched them. We even asked the locals how they handle it and they said “we just don’t scratch the bites”! Also found a bit of evidence of mice in our 2nd villa, not fun. - Cost of everything -- drinks at the Aparima bar / beach are exorbitant (like $28 - $36 just for regular cocktails). We did a Costco package (don’t poo-poo this until you look into it, I was shocked to learn that Costco travel is actually legit and helpful), which “included breakfast and dinner”. What they don’t say is that drinks are not included anywhere, and even whole restaurants (like the Lagoon) are not included at all. There is definitely a sense of nickel and diming everytime you eat -- Further to this point, anyone staying at the St. Regis (or other similar properties) needs to realize that there are no other options besides dining at the hotel's restaurants. Unless you want to grab a boat ride to the main island or elsewhere, there are no other ways to eat. Thus if you stay for any length of time, (we stayed for seven nights) the options start to feel limited -- Costs of activities were pretty crazy as well. We did a private sunset boat tour (no room left in shared tours), and it was $1,250 for a two hour ride. While it was a highlight for us (and is mentioned above up in the “good” section as well), the cost was pretty painful. All in, the experience was nice and memorable for us, but not what I would call a 5 star experience overall, and probably not worth the sticker price if you are paying full pop for the stay.

This is a hard review to write to find the correct words to describe how epic this resort is. Nina Maurin and her team are amazing at doing everything they can to fulfill every request. Nina’s energy, enthusiasm, and passion for serving guests is remarkable. I know these qualities are instilled in her team. A big shout out to our amazing butler Violaine. Her attention to detail was outstanding. How she made us feel like the only couple she was working with is beyond me. Between a surprise for our anniversary and accommodating a special cake request for my wife’s birthday, Violaine came through. The butler team is terrific at recommending excursions to meet your interests. We went into town, whale watching, to a pearl “factory”, and on a sunset cruise. All were fun with terrific hospitality. When selecting your villa, consider the mountain view rooms have spectacular sunset views but the water is often choppy. The lagoon view rooms have great sunRISE views and calmer water. If you are looking for Maui style night life, Bora Bora may not be for you. If you are looking for some of the most memorable scenery and hospitality of your life, go visit Nina, Violaine and their colleagues.

This was our second stay at St. Regis, following our first visit two years ago. While the resort remains visually stunning with generally excellent service, we encountered several disappointing issues during our recent stay. Upon arrival at 3 PM, our villa wasn't ready. The concierge who escorted us seemed distracted and disorganized. When we finally entered, we discovered the air conditioning in the living room wasn't working. A repairman spent hours fixing the issue. Due to lack of AC, room became musty and pungent. This was far from the arrival experience we expected at a luxury resort. Eventually, the AC was fixed, and the concierge called to apologize. Only when I suggested compensation, she offered a free dinner. At a five-star resort like St. Regis, such gestures should be proactive, not prompted by guests. Unfortunately, the complimentary dinner was a disaster. I had to return my food twice due to it being undercooked and tasteless. My wife's meal was merely edible. Their "pepper sauce" for steak was little more than warm, slightly seasoned cream – a far cry from what one expects at a high-end restaurant. For days, we struggled to find satisfactory meals. We eventually abandoned restaurant reservations and resorted to ordering simple grilled seafood and appetizers. Staff members acknowledged the issue, citing various difficulties in recruiting. While understandable, this doesn't excuse the poor quality, especially considering the excellent meals we enjoyed in Tahiti before and after our St. Regis stay. Another major issue was the daily 5:45 AM wake-up call from what sounded like a leaf blower. Investigating, we discovered a person in a hazmat suit spraying trees and the area around our villa. After complaining to our butler (who was excellent), the start time was pushed to 6:30 AM. While we understand the need to control mosquitos, which seemed more prevalent than during our previous visit, such early disturbances are unacceptable at a luxury resort. Due to the consistent food disappointments and early morning disruptions, we decided to cut our stay short by one day. Notably, during check-out, we weren't even asked about our experience – a telling sign that staff were aware of the issues. A few days later, we received only 25% of the expected points for our stay. We had to contact Marriott customer service to correct this error. Overall, our experience at St. Regis this time was that of a two-star performance at five-star prices.

This resort is one of the best I have ever stayed at in my travels. From the moment we landed at the airport in Bora Bora we were met with happiness and glee at the St. Regis boat transfer area. We were given a lei and cold water and escorted to the boat to shuttle us to the resort. The ride was lovely and when we reached the resort our butler greeted us and took our photo with the famous skyline of the island of Bora Bora in the background. After a short tour (about 30 minutes) of all the major attractions of the resort we were taken to reception and checked in to our villa. As it wasn't ready (we took a morning flight) we went to the pool restaurant for an early lunch. We were doted over by the staff and the food was excellent. By the time we had finished and had some coffee our accommodations were ready. Our butler transported us via golf cart. The villa was magnificent. Over the next week we loved our stay here. The villa was large, immaculate and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The housekeeping staff was wonderful and turn down service was an added perk. The room even had life vests. We were also provided with two bicycles for transportation around the resort. There was taxi service via golf cart available at any time which made any inclement weather (rain) or our evening events easy to attend. It is lovely to just walk to destinations in the resort. We managed a mile or two each day. The spa was beautiful and relaxing. The lagoon was full of tropical fish with Moana, the huge Napoleon fish, being the star. We attended a lecture at the lagoonarium and snorkeling equipment is available. Fish food is also available to purchase at the resort shop. The beach and the pools were wonderful. The staff at both were great and very attentive. The restaurants were amazing especially the Lagoon Restaurant and the Farniente, which have been reviewed separately. The staff is amazing, and we felt pampered and special the entire stay here. We were sad when the trip ended and we flew back to Papeete. It was a definitely a trip to paradise. I can recommend this resort as one of the finest and hopefully someday we will return.

The St Regis, Bora Bora is a piece of paradise with an exceptional customer service, dining experience crafted by people who love what they do and locally grown ingredients. The check in experience was excellent with Kahais and Naga being so pleasant. Our personal butler Florina made our stay so special, she made sure to find us a few times every day to check on us and her personal notes with precious gifts at our Otemanu villa made us smile each time. We stayed at a 1 bedroom luxury villa facing Mount Otemanu - the villa was spectacular, being at the terrace was magnificent each time with turtles, stingrays, small coral fish, as well as bigger fish. It was well maintained, clean, and we couldn’t get enough of the ocean and the view. We went to snorkel at the lagoon with the famous Napoleon fish Moana and that was a wonderful experience as well. We felt welcomed, cared for at any time - everyone from Robert, our bellman to Renauii at Aparima; Poerava and Helena for breakfast and lunch; to Laura, Lucile and Antoine at 727 Bar were outstanding. The food selection is great and the choices of fresh local seafood was much appreciated! The Tahitian Octopus, the fresh daily fish, the mahi mahi, the Chef coconut fish specialty - all delightful! Next, Arnaud did a great job with the Champagne sabering and the dinner at the Lagoon after a few cocktails at the 727 Bar was one to remember. Eloise and Clement made it memorable for us and with the bottles of Tahitian wine the sunset over Mount Otemanu was a post card moment with the best pairing recommended by the best team! Finally, we will sent off by Laure from the butler team - you are lucky to have her and Florina! These two amazing ladies are what makes an elevated experience more special, rewarding and elegant! Such a pleasure to have met them, to have spent some time talking to them and to have had them be a part of our vacation! To everyone who helped us - Mauruuru and we cannot wait to visit again!
