There are many a tea room location in London, but you want one that doesn’t feel like an overly touristy, cardboard cutout and sad rendition of the real thing… what you get at Rubens is refined sophistication! The service, the tea (vanilla chai for me), the bites were everything! Not to mention the beautiful fabric on the wingback couches for two. It was everything I didn’t know I needed out of my tea experience. Also shout out to Rebecca who was the sweetest server.

Excellent hotel from check in to check out. Staff unreal . We were there for our birthdays and the staff did everything to make it special for us. We will be back again soon . Breakfast is the best ever. The hotel is spotless and so quiet at night. Highly recommend

We stayed at the conveniently located hotel for 5 days and from beginning to end it was a wonderful experience. The hotel itself is tastefully and traditionally decorated in rich colours. The well equipped bedrooms have wonderfully comfortable beds and sumptuous bedlinen. In the bathroom the towels are thick and fluffy and the range of high end toiletries is in keeping with the overall standard of everything provided. The jewel in the crown of the hotel is a team of staff who, regardless of their position are endlessly pleasant, polite and professional going out of their way to provide guests with the best experience available. Special mention must be made of Tom, front of house manager who was particularly helpful during our stay. I can understand, why like ourselves so many others were clearly return customers. Staying at Rubens at the palace is like visiting friends in grand surroundings! A perfect combination.

A wonderful experience! Central location, great bus and tube access. But it is the staff who make this an amazing place to stay, from the concierge to the doorman and turn- down service your every need is met and exceeded. I highly recommend!

It was my first time visiting London and the staff at The Rubens was amazing and accommodating of our needs. It is located close to major attractions as well as the Victoria tube station. The breakfast was very tasty and would highly recommend prior to starting your day sightseeing.

John has been here 45 years and is encyclopedic in his knowledge Last night, we celebrated an exquisite Valentine’s dinner, where the Beef Wellington was nothing short of perfection. A heartfelt thanks to Chef Nelson, whose culinary mastery produces some of the most outstanding food we’ve ever eaten. He even took the time to share his techniques with me, which was such a generous and personal touch. Chef Nelson’s passion for his craft is evident in every detail of his creations, and it’s an absolute privilege to enjoy his cuisine. Our experience was elevated by the impeccable leadership of Leo, the hotel manager, whose presence is felt in every flawless detail of the service. Leo’s dedication, professionalism, and care extend throughout his entire team, making each guest feel like the most important person in the room. He leads by “doing” - he’s intimately involved in every level of the experience - bussing tables; serving food and being a bartender when needed. The housekeeping staff also deserve high praise for their impeccable attention to detail, ensuring every corner of the hotel radiates elegance and comfort. Truly, every single person on Leo’s team goes above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience. A special mention must go to Silviu, the bar magician whose infused hot gin creations are pure magic. Each drink is an artistic masterpiece, crafted with creativity and precision. This is one of those rare places you almost hesitate to share because it’s so perfect you don’t want it to become too popular! Gorgeous welcoming hotel with the friendliest staff in London. They have employees like Frank who have worked there for over 20 years and a famous concierge John, who has been with the hotel for 45 years!! The moment you step foot in the hotel you feel special. They cater for your needs better than most and pay attention to detail. The afternoon tea overlooking Buckingham Palace Mews is gorgeous. The rooms are richly decorated, the bed linen and toiletries (Floris) divine. The breakfast was plentiful and well prepared and for those that like curry - the Curry Room restaurant below the New York Bar is awesome. Fabulous dishes specially prepared and served on a Thali by a superb chef. Try a hand crafted signature cocktail in front of an open fire in the bar before dinner. Perfect. Well done to Vince and the team for offering a most memorable stay.

A weekend away in London and an excellent place to stay in The Rubens at the Palace. The location being five minutes walk from Victoria is helpful for transport links but equally, Green and St James Park are only a five minute walk away. The welcome from Pascal on the door and Rosie on reception set the tone for the stay. We felt like frequently returning customers rather than first time visitors. Nothing was too much trouble. We were upgraded which was a bit of a treat and a surprise. The room was spotless and well looked after by the housekeeping team. Raj and team on Sunday were on good form and very friendly. An absolute must return soon vote from us.

This hotel met and exceeded my expectations from the minute my husband and I walked in to the reception. Booking in was relaxed and efficient and we were immediately made to feel valued. The room was clean with beautiful bed linen, comfortable and quiet considering situated in central London. We had breakfast both mornings of our stay which was delicious and each morning we were welcomed and well looked after by the staff. The hotel is in a perfect location for a visit to London. I honestly could not find anything negative about our stay here and every member of staff is impeccably trained to allow guests to experience a perfect stay at this beautiful hotel.

My recent stay in London at The Rubens At the Palace hotel was fabulous! I was traveling for vacation with my husband who had never been to London. The location was perfect, very close to several outings we had planned. And when we occasionally needed a taxi, the adorable bellmen were so quick to stop traffic with their whiste and hail one for us! Our room was splendid with luxury bedding and decor including the breathtaking moreno glass chandalier, but my favorite decoration was BY FAR the handsome portrait of Prince William. The furniture and paintings and architectural details throughout the hotel were also splendid, even better than the published photos and videos I had studied before the trip. We also had exceptional service from all of the staff; the bellmen as well as the front desk staff Rosie and Sophie, and the restaurant staff Manuel. One day I mentioned we were going to see the Phamtom of the Opera that evening. When we returned to the hotel late that night we were suprised with a custom made dessert in our room!! At The Rubens At the Palace hotel, all of the guests are treated like royalty themselves!!

An absolute JEWEL of a hotel and my husband and I highly recommend The Ruben. This is the 2nd Red Carnation hotel we’ve stayed at and their hospitality is excellent. The Ruben is centrally located, right next door to Buckingham Palace and offers super comfortable luxury, a great bar and dining but truly the most wonderful aspect about this hotel is the staff…from the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty and everyone was so friendly and helpful. We got to know Joe and Charlie at the front desk, Elliot in the bar, Carlotta in the dining room, Jan at the front door and Andy at the concierge desk and they couldn’t have been more terrific; and they’re just the ones we got to know by name! And when we would come back to the hotel after a day of sightseeing everyone greeted us with “welcome home”. Truly a special, special place… thank you to The Ruben for making our 6 night vacation fun and memorable!!! DEFINITELY CHOOSE THIS HOTEL FOR YOUR TRIP TO LONDON!

We stayed at 4 hotels on this trip to Paris and the UK, and Rubens had the best air-conditioning of them by far. As an American Southerner, it was such a relief to have a cool room! The lobby staff were all so kind and helpful. The doorman greeted us warmly going and coming; always started our day with a smile.

We had difficulty getting airport transportation due to the WWII parade, and we had an Uber stuck in traffic. Most would ask once and leave it since we were departing and no longer guests. Jan went above and beyond to ensure we were okay, then got us a cab. He always has a welcoming presence that reminds you why The Rubens is a five star hotel. Thank you to all.

It was the nicest hotel suite I have ever stayed in. We later learned that Winston Churchill stayed in the same suite. The receptionist was very kind, the concierge and doormen were very helpful and polite. The full English breakfast in the mourning was wonderful. The only reason I couldn’t truly give my stay at the Rueben’s five stars was due to a rude bartender. She may have been having a bad day, but she should not take it out on her customers. The situation was taken care of only after I asked to speak to the bar manager. All in all it was a very good experience and I would recommend staying at The Rueben’s.

We were always greeted and asked about our day, either upon leaving the hotel in the morning or upon returning. Both my husband and I felt that the head concierge, John Goncalves, has created an exceptionally professional atmosphere with attention to detail. Also, who could resist Jahangir the best doorman we’ve ever encountered. And last, but not least, we appreciated the guest service manager, Sophie Pegler and her knowledge of the area. We couldn’t have had a better experience at a London hotel!
