Reviews of The Palms Turks and Caicos
The Palms at Turks and Caicos is amazing! Jane at SiSi was an amazing hostess and waitress! The meal and view were awesome. We had an amazing dinner ocean front with great drinks and wine too! Thanks for everything Jane! The atmosphere and bar are fun too!
The best resort experience we've ever had. It's that simple.
This is an amazing location and offers a far better resort experience than can be had at larger resorts or other islands (I'm pointing at you, Aruba). A short shared taxi ride from PLS (US $15 p/p + tip) drops you at the elegant, marble-floored entry to the resort, where...
This is an amazing location and offers a far better resort experience than can be had at larger resorts or other islands (I'm pointing at you, Aruba).
A short shared taxi ride from PLS (US $15 p/p + tip) drops you at the elegant, marble-floored entry to the resort, where you'll be served a delicious cucumber-melon cooler and be handed cool towels while you're being checked in. You're then given a tour of the property and shown to your room.
Major amenities are plentiful beach space with loungers and umbrellas, and a sprawling, heated pool with hot tub and swim-up bar. Nearby is the Palms' spa (fitness center is free; other service are at an extra charge)
The rooms - pretty much no matter which you end up with - are beautiful, spacious, with one of the most comfortable beds I've had the pleasure of sleeping in. There is a set of 5-story buildings, most split in half with a small elevator and 5-7 rooms per floor.
Starting your day, a breakfast buffet is served daily from 7:30 - 10:30 daily, and it's delicious - with a variety of hot and continental breakfast served in the outdoor Garden restaurant. You'll pay a small tip here to the server. Come with your sunscreen already applied and in your swimsuit and you can head directly to the pool or beach afterwards.
Unlike other resorts, there's plenty of space at both. Not once do you feel like getting a spot at the beach is like getting Taylor Swift tickets ("sorry, all gone for the day"!)
The usual services are provided at both the pool and beach: you can order drinks or food brought to you, and attendants will set you up with chairs, towels, and umbrellas as needed. The water is what Turks is known for: turqoise, comfortable swim temperature year-round. The pool is similar and features the swim-up Plunge bar (with nice little secluded seating and tables nearby!) plus a hot tub.
The SiSi Bar offers typical resort drinks and a food menu all afternoon (until about 5); buffet lunches ($35 p/p) on some days. After it closes, it reopens at 6 as SiSi, a mexican "flavored" outdoor restaurant nestled between the pool and the beach.
The other restaurant is Parallels, which sits between the front garden area and the Garden restaurant; it has its own bar ("Latitude") that gets a fair amount of use.
This is a place where you feel like you'll be taken care of with the same standards as you arrived, and indeed, that's the case. The concierge can arrange reservations and transportation and give advice on local things to do, but this is a place where you can pick out a comfortable spot and just crash until you feel like a swim or something to eat or drink. And while the place itself is of course pricey, you never feel nickeled-and-dimed: bottled water and towels are freely available at no charge.
After dinner, relax poolside by the fire pit for a bit and enjoy the night sky and scenery and then return to your room to discover the glory that is the Palms' turndown service. Your room will be reset - fresh towels, your covers turned down, slippers and a mat at your bedside, the world's fluffiest, cleanest robes, a chocolate and fresh water bottle at your beside and a charming little card each night with a story about the island to wish you pleasant dreams.
We'll be back, for sure.

The staff, whether front desk, room service, wait staff, grounds keepers, bartenders, the bell-hops and beach area assistants were always pleasant and available. I must give a shoutout to Jane, Lillianne and Nadia. Jane was the hostess at our included breakfast meal and she was delightful! Always smiling and welcoming. Lillianne was out housekeeper for most of the time we were there and our suite was spotless. She was the sweetest. And Nadia. She did our nightly "turndown" service. I met her the first night and each night we gabbed about something new. She always gave us a couple of extra chocolates too...which my hubby LOVED!
At breakfast, it was held at the Breakfast Garden. A lovely outdoor area. There are many choices from cereals, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, assorted fruits, breads/muffins and an omelette station. Plenty and yummy to choose from. The 2 restaurants were fantastic. Si SI is a casual outdoor restaurant with lighter meals with quite a bit to choose from. The bar at SI SI was our favorite. From the pictures of it's beautiful rattan covering which makes it a stand out. Parallel23 is a stunning restaurant that is a bit more formal with delicious gourmet meals and desserts.
The pool is beautiful. It's large and beautifully shaped with plenty of seating around it. There's also a pool bar inside the pool! All the grounds are landscaped so nicely and kept in immaculate condition.
Now, on to our room. We stayed in a 1 bedroom oceanfront suite. One word, STUNNING! from the entrance that is tiled beautifully, through to the bedroom with a really comfy bed, a bathroom to die for with double rainshower-like heads, huge soaking tub ( which I took advantage of 2x), large double sink vanity and private toilet room. The living room area was a nice space and had plenty of seating. The only thing that wasn't comfy, was the sofa. But, it was the only thing out of our trip that wasn't 5 star! So, not bad at all. There's a large dining room table that seats 8 and a fully equipped kitchen with Viking appliances! The decor is vintage French decor. Not my husband and my usual taste. But, it was just lovely. And lastly, the wood trim moldings are awesome! The suite is really just a beautiful place to stay at. The whole property was rehabbed 6 months ago. So, you're in for a treat if you stay there.
The beach with its powder-like sand is a pleasure to just chill out at. The water is turquoise and refreshing. There are plenty of water activities. We also enjoyed a sunset cruise which was one of the highlights of our trip.
There are plenty of taxis to take you around or you can hire a private service company.
Now, it is one of the most expensive trips/islands we've taken due to the mandatory 15%-18% service fees (for waitstaff, spa services, etc) and 12% government tax. I am a big tipper. So, I tipped housekeepers, waitsaff. bartenders, bellhops, and taxi drivers regularly. However, those are mandatory throughput the Turks and Caicos. Not just at The Palms.
In closing, if we ever visit the Turks and Caicos again, we would not hesitate to stay at The Palms again. In fact, we'd definitely stay there again. We couldn't recommend it enough. Enjoy!

This hotel is truly amazing—just as beautiful as the photos suggest. We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was incredibly spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool. The room was spotless, featuring tasteful Caribbean decor with classic marble tile. It included a comfortable king-size bed, a sleeper sofa, and a small kitchenette with a sink, mini-fridge, and microwave. The bathroom had only a shower, a water closet, and a single sink, but there was plenty of hot water and all the necessary amenities. While not massive, the space was well-designed and comfortable.
The pool area was lovely, featuring a heated pool and a hot tub. There were two adults-only areas off the pool, plus a large, first-come, first-served beach area with chairs and umbrellas. The pool was warm, and the beach was stunning, though the water was quite cold. Complimentary water sports equipment and bikes were available (the bikes are a bit clunky but still rideable).
Breakfast was excellent—on some mornings, they even had fresh-squeezed orange juice when oranges were available. However, we were disappointed by the dinner at Sisi. The tacos were tiny, and the Caesar salad was awful—served on a stale tostada with finely chopped lettuce and no real dressing.
Service throughout the resort was excellent, apart from the restaurant. The spa has a well-earned reputation for excellence, and our experience there was fantastic.
A complimentary shuttle takes guests to The Palms’ sister properties. We visited both, and The Shore Club was especially impressive—though incredibly windy. If you don’t mind the hassle, staying at The Palms and spending the day at Shore Club’s beach could be a great option.
Tips for Visiting Turks & Caicos
Turks & Caicos is expensive—be prepared. Taxis charge per person, and groceries are outrageously priced. If you can, bring snacks like crackers, chips, cookies, cheese, and even dips for pre-dinner snacks (a cooler helps). Microwave popcorn is also a great idea.
There’s a grocery store within biking distance, and the bikes have baskets for carrying items back. If you drink, buy alcohol on your way in—it'll save you a fortune. The Palms offers a happy hour at 5 PM for one hour, with half-price cocktails, $10 wine, and $5 local beers.
Service charges or gratuities are included in all bills (either 10% or 15%), but we still tipped extra for exceptional service—especially beach attendants, the omelet station at breakfast, and our servers.
Dining & Activities
Thursday Fish Fry: A must for trying local food, but expect long lines. Everything looked delicious.
Coco Bistro & Coco Van: Highly recommended for dining.
Beachfront Restaurant: We had nachos and drinks at a beachside spot, and the bill was $110 after tax (12%), service charge (15%), and USD exchange. Be prepared for high dining costs.
Final Thoughts
The Palms is in a fantastic location, about 15 minutes from the center of town where shops and restaurants are located. We walked there in the evenings and sometimes biked during the day.
One of the nicest beaches we’ve ever seen (and we have been all over the world)—beautiful, clean, and peaceful. Price is the draw back. St Barts was less expensive. That said, I would absolutely stay here again.

We visited with couples for a long weekend. Highlights were the beautiful beach, consistent availability of chairs at pool and beach (no having to reserve chairs!), food quality, and the gorgeous new renovated pool area. We also had a few private group events while on property and they were beautifully set up and food was delicious.
Unfortunately, as noted by other reviewers, service was a big issue. It would take 1.5 hours to get food at the beach and maybe 45 min for a drink. And what made it so frustrating was the service staff didn't seem to care. To be fair, we did find throughout the island service is not a strong suit, but for a 5 star this was not ok.
One other thing to note was while the rooms are updated, they did seem to have a musty smell and don't seem to have some modern touches. Little things are missed (like no where in the shower to put soap or products!).
No families were there - def more of a quiet, couples vibe. I would not have wanted my younger kids there.

Checkin was easy especially with the help of our bellman, Russell, he was always smiling and making sure our stay was going well. Our room was immaculate and appointed beautifully. Our room attendants were wonderful and friendly especially Narilea. The beach and pool area is absolutely gorgeous and we enjoyed Scottrico and Arnel taking care of us at the beach and pool. Breakfast in the garden every morning was a fabulous buffet and we were greeted by June everyday with her beautiful smiling face along Arlean, Marie and Earlie. All making sure we had hot coffee and always cheerful. Always asking about our day and making sure everything is good. We had great meals with Roxane waiting on us, she was all about making sure everything was perfect @ The ocean side Si Si restaurant and bar. We enjoyed Fredlynn @ the bar around the court yard which is beautifully appointed and relaxing…she made sure the bartender knew how to make my drink request… in fact he came to our table to confirm…great service!! Thank you Tisha for your help with checking out.
Oh almost forgot…the spa is the most beautiful and tranquil area and very relaxing. I had the best ever massage from Tini!!
Well darn…we leave today for Virginia, back to cooking, cleaning and waiting on ourselves…will miss this beautiful piece of paradise!! Will see y’all in 2026, thank you for a wonderful vacation!!

I have been to Turks 5 times and stay at Grace Bay. I only had 3 nights to come this trip. We will switch to Palms now. The architecture is restored colonial and truly remarkable. The pools are all new and contemporary. Our room was big, updated and the balcony had a pool and ocean view with place to eat outside and lounge on a sofa and look at the view. Service is number 1 here. Jane at breakfast, Maribel at dinner, and Ricardo (Ricky) at the pool bar made it like home.

The only reason we didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the service. It seemed like everyone who worked there was just confused. The pool/beach bar and food service was basically non-existent. The resort itself has WAY too many specialists and not enough generalists. Why does the concierge only do food and not events? Why is there a specific person for events who can’t help with food? Why are there some beach service guys only doing towels? Why is there no ATM anywhere on the property? Ownership disincentivizes good service by making every bill have an automatic 15% service fee shared amongst everyone. So why would any individual actually care to provide 5 star service? For $1000 a night I expected more in this area.

Beautiful resort and Jane was very hospitable at the restaurant. The breakfast was a nice bonus every morning. I would definitely recommend staying there. The swimming pool was heated which was a nice bonus due to the cooler weather in January
Cold, careless and complacent

I’m on my 4th of 10 days at the Palms. Never again. While I recognise that I did not pay for staying at the top hotel in TCI (and now wish I had), I did expect at least a reasonable level of service from a hotel that’s more than $1000 per night. There are a few genuinely friendly employees, but for the most part service is inattentive and cold.
The beach ‘service’ is particularly disastrous. The people working there could not show any less interest in serving guests. Indeed, many of them seem visibly put out if you dare to ask them to set up chairs for you. They don’t do anything to clean up the beach and are quite happy to set you up in chairs and leave previous guests’ trash sitting on the sand by the chairs they’ve just set up for you.
The breakfast staff do a marginally better job, but the whole place just has a feel of ‘We can’t really be bothered’. It feels like assembly line service rather than anything that’s genuinely well-intentioned.
We are easygoing people who go out of our way to try to be friendly to staff. To be met by such disdain is very disappointing.
Add to that that the place is overrun by children, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it for adults looking for a peaceful holiday.
Deeply disappointing. Avoid.

Excellent facilities
As a long time traveler I don't remember ever having every staff member we dealt with be so consistently kind, engaged, good at what they do. Shout out to Arlean, and jane and everyone who took care of us . Thank you
Kudos to the beach guys! Thank you Robert & Naz! Also Philomen! These young men have taken wonderful care of us-saving chaise lounges, towels, water everyday. Ophiniel serves us our virgin coladas with grace and kindness. It’s been a wonderful experience!

She was delightful. She got our drinks and food right away. We get “island-time” but the Palms is not a bargain hotel and while the rooms are nice, the service should be as nice. Fortunately we ran into Sherrie and that was our good fortune. Thank you Sherrie! You could give lessons to your colleagues on stupendous service.
You made our day!

My husband and I just spent a week at The Palms in Turks and Caicos, and it was honestly one of the best trips we’ve ever taken. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed—and the staff made sure that feeling never faded.
The property is gorgeous and incredibly well-kept. Everything is spotless, the landscaping is pristine, and our room was cleaned daily with so much attention to detail. It really added to how relaxing the whole experience was.
What made this trip so memorable, though, were the people. Every single person we encountered was kind, attentive, and seemed to truly care about the guest experience. Two people we have to mention right away are S.K. Dewa and Mark Oudin—they’re part of the management team, and we saw them around the property often. What stood out was how they never hesitated to jump in and help their team, whether it was answering questions or helping with service. Their presence and attitude made a big impression.
We also had such a great time getting to know some of the team at the bar and restaurant:
Wesley, one of the bartenders, made incredible drinks and was such a fun, positive presence.
Neville, another bartender, was always moving and working hard, but still found time to sing along with the island music—which we loved.
Paula and Wideline, who served us often at the bar, were both so kind and attentive. They made every visit feel personal.
Jane, the hostess we saw every morning at breakfast and every evening at dinner, was so warm and welcoming—we looked forward to seeing her each day.
Tricia gave us our tour of the property when we arrived, and she was great—friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home.
And the spa—wow. We both had massages that were hands down the best we’ve ever had. Alba, my massage therapist, was amazing.
There’s something really special about this place. It’s not just the beautiful beach or the great food—it’s the feeling you get while you’re here. Calm, taken care of, and completely able to unwind.
We’re already talking about when we can come back. Huge thanks to everyone at The Palms for making this such an unforgettable week.
