This was stop number one of our African adventure and it did not disappoint. The staff was so very professional and caring. They double checked all our activities and reassured us that tansportation would be there when expected. The grounds were well maintained with a lawn looking out on the Zambezi River. Rooms were modern and clean and well kept. The dining area was nice and the food excellent. Morning breakfast was very nice. They offer a dinner cruise on the river at sundown which was a lot of fun with a good intro to game viewing. I can't say enough good things about this facility. Stay there if you go to Victoria Falls.

This hotel was simply exquisite! After a long journey, the ambience and location by the Zambezi River was just what we needed. The food was amazing, and the staff were friendly and provided lots of insight into the local area and life in Zimbabwe. The grounds were impeccably clean and full of flora and fauna, what was also nice to see was the abundance of wildlife freely roaming the grounds including Elephants, Warthogs, monkeys and small impala/antelope to name a few. We booked the sunset cruise and Dusty Road lunch through the hotel, both of which we highly recommend. The perfect base to venture into Zimbabwe and Zambia and of course Victoria Falls which was a 10-15 min leisurely drive away.

Stayed here in between some safari trips in Kruger and Botswana. Really nice respite in the middle of a trip. You feel as if you are going back in time of a by gone era, yet with all of the amenities of a modern hotel. Room was clean, spacious and large bathroom. Loved the balcony overlooking the river. Staff were helpful at every turn. Meals were served on the big patio and were really quite good with nice wine selection.

We stayed at this hotel before going on a train journey from Victoria Falls to Pretoria. The venue is pleasantly located at the banks of the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe, about 2 miles from the Victoria Falls. The check-in process was easy and straight forward. Rooms are clean, nice and roomy. The restaurant serves very good food and the cocktails are lovely. There is a well-equipped gym which is open 24-7 and the activity desk offers a wide range of interesting activities. We booked a helicopter ride flying over the Victoria Falls which was great and a game drive which was not so great (no game). We also booked a sunset boat trip on the Zambezi River which was just amazing - romantic, funny and we saw all the animals I was missing on the game drive. The only downside was the check-out as the head of housekeeping refused us to have a late check-out and made us run out of the room and sit in the lounge after arriving later than expected from the (game-less) game drive. (She said that us checking out later would put her staff under too much stress to prepare the room for the next guests). Altogether, this was a pleasant experience except the eviction by housekeeping.

The hotel has a great setting but unfortunately that’s all that is going for it. The staff are exceptionally rude and see customers as an inconvenience to their day. Housekeeping is poor - we had to wait 8 days for a dead cockroach to be picked up from the middle of our hallway floor. On check in we had to ask for pee to be cleaned from the bathroom floor and the toilet seat. The room was never vacuumed or even dusted during our stay. The food was close to inedible. We ate out every single day as a result of the 2 meals we did eat in property. I would recommend staying in any other hotel in Vic Falls. The staff couldn’t have done less to be helpful including being sworn at and shouted when politely asking to print 8 sheets by a duty manager. The hotel is unfortunately mismanaged and as such is unpleasant. We asked on multiple occasions to speak with the GM and told he’d see us in 5 minutes. After 16 days of trying, it was clear management is the biggest concern. I would recommend the Victoria Falls Hotel or if budget allows the Victoria Falls River Lodge. We stayed in both on the same trip, and have already booked our return to the River Lodge.

Most magical setting on the Zambezi river, first class food, service and views. Fantastic range of activities on offer, highly recommend the sunset cruise, whitewater rafting, and game drive. The gym is a nice plus too. Looking forward to our next visit already!
Gorgeous hotel, clean, Modern amenities. Beautiful alfresco dining area with yummy food. A beautiful buffet breakfast with hot breakfast options included. Close to Victoria, Falls, and all the activities that are available here or within 15 minutes of drive time. A lot to do here with families honeymooners or just friends.
The Palm River Hotel is an absolutely delightful spot right on the Zambezi River
This hotel gets everything right. Lovely design, fabulous food, thoughtful staff, comfortable beds with porches, intimate setting, glorious sunsets, assistance with setting up excursions, and wonderful wildlife viewing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Beautiful hotel at river's edge, less than 3 yrs old. Modern amenities (wi-fi, TV), comfortable beds. Attentive staff, regional and Western cuisine. If you're lucky, the elephants will come by for a close up. Easy access to river cruise at sunset.

Truly a remarkable experience at the Palm River Hotel, which is right on the Zambezi River, just minutes from Victoria Falls. The hotel itself is superior in every way. The staff, rooms, food service, and amenities were excellent in every conceivable way. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. When we were sitting resting around the pool, elephants strolled by in a peaceful manner, watched attentively by the staff. Everything at this recently opened Hotel is first class! I highly recommend this facility when traveling to see Victoria Falls and Zimbabwe. While there, one can arrange a personal interaction tour with elephants at a nearby facility, which is absolutely awesome, as well as a helicopter ride above Victoria Falls, which provides a truly magnificent perspective of one of the seven wonders of the world!
