The location is perfect. The building is art deco and the restaurant is chic for the area. Our roo​m (Premium Studio​) on the first floor had no natural light as the window faces another building and a dirty alleyway. That's a bit depressing. The room is quite small for American standards. There is a resort fee, but the hotel doesn't have facilities. You get beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels and a beach bag, but that seems to be pretty much it for quite a high fee. For about $360 per night the value you get is low. We stayed at Marlin back in 2018 and the hotel was recently renovated then. Now it looks dated, a few things are broken, the standards are definitely not the same.

I strongly recommend this hotel. It is perfectly located in Miami Beach near bars, shows, restaurants, the beach, and other beautiful hotels. The room was spacious, comfortable, quiet at night, and always cleaned. Housekeeping service is very good. The staff at the front desk are helpful and friendly. The bar in the hotel lobby and restaurant (Osteria Positano) is excellent. We would stay there again!

This is an Iconic Streamline Art Deco Hotel. The history of the property is incredible it was explained to us by David who wasted some of his morning, to talk to a stupid Scottish guy and his wife, that were very difficult to understand, what the hotel used to be as a recording studio. He also explained about some of the albums produced there including one incredible Santana recording. He knew everything about it and you could tell he loved working there. I have to say he should get a wage rise just on the PR job he did for the hotel. The room was excellent you couldn't have asked for more. It wasn't cheap but it also wasn't ridiculously expensive, which it could well have been considering its position, restaurant and the quality of the room.

The Marlin is the best of South Beach. A classic Art Deco landmark- lovingly restored with a charming lobby and porch in-house restaurant offering elegant Italian fare. The location is prime- the staff is thoughtful and kind- a fabulous trip.

The Marlin Hotel is, in our opinion in a perfect spot in Miami Beach. Only one block back from the beach but nice and quiet away from the noise of the seafront bars and restaurants. Check-in was a little strange as it was at a desk in a corner of the in-house Italian restaurant but Ayla was lovely, friendly and very professional. Our room (212) was a corner suite with a nice view of Collins Avenue. On the attached photo it is the right hand corner room just above the blue canopy. The room was nicely furnished, spacious, had a lovely big en-suite bathroom and a mini fridge and coffee machine. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in South Beach and we were only a short walk to a bus stop to go into downtown Miami. The hotel provided Beach chairs and umbrellas which you can take to the beach. We have no hesitation in recommending The Marlin Hotel as a great place to stay for your trip to Miami Beach!

Beware!! This hotel serves expired half and half and the smoke detectors in your room are expired as well (needs to be replaced every 10 years, but theirs were installed in 2010 and never replaced). And the little boy who's working there cannot work with the public. This was my worst experience in an hotel in my whole life! I stayed for a week in this hotel and the smoke detector in my room started beeping at 10PM on April 24th (low battery). I asked the receptionist (who never answers the reception's phone because he always has his headphones on) to bring me a new battery and it took him 30minutes to tell me that he doesn't have a battery and just live with it. I insisted that I can't sleep with the fire alarm beeping like this. He told me that if I am not happy I can go buy one. I spent 2 400$ at this hotel and a little impolite and disrespectful boy tells me to go buy a battery for their smoke detector if I can't sleep with the constant beeping, that's crazy!! I was shocked and let him know. He then said that he texted his manager to come and bring a simple 9V battery while there is a convenience store literally 2min from the hotel. I waited for 1 hour for the manager to come for a 9V battery. When he showed up to my room at midnight, I was explaining to him why I was upset when the little boy at the reception came to my room and started screaming and insulting me at midnight right in the middle of the hallway in front of his manager, thus waking up all the hotel guests at midnight!! I've never seen anything like that, being verbally attacked and physically threatened (receptionist started taking pictures of me in front of his manager without my permission, and the manager didn't say anything) in an hotel is a brand new experience for me! Pretty sure he has some major mental issues.

Nice looking Art Deco style hotel dating back to 1939 set just back off Ocean Drive and the beach, so not so noisy or busy at night, albeit Collins Avenue is still a busy main road with some heavy traffic. Deluxe studio room was large, comfortable enough for our needs but with no view from the room we were assigned (not a problem as we were out most of the time anyway). Staff were all good, had no issues during stay and happy to recommend as a good location to explore the area if you want a traditional Miami hotel to the more modern sky scrapers. Bonus is that the Italian restaurant inside is one of the best in the area (see TA reviews) and is run as a separate business to the hotel, but they offer a generous discount as a hotel guest (at time of writing) !

The Marlin is a very nice hotel. Check in was easy. There is valet parking, which is $42 a night with drive in and out privileges. The rooms are good sized, nicely decorated, and quite comfortable. A continental breakfast is provided from 7:09-10:00. Don’t arrive at 7:00 as they might not have completely set up yet. The location is good, only a block from South Beach. A beach bag with towels is available in the room. Beach chairs are available.

We just spent 4 nights at The Marlin and had a great time. A fun art deco hotel in a great location to the beach (5 minutes and they provide chairs, brolly and towels) and in the heart of the art deco district on Ocean Drive. Don’t miss the 2 hour art deco tour done by the Miami Design Preservation League. Comfortable, period rooms which are well looked after. Hotel staff friendly and helpful and we highly rated the Italian restaurant attached to the hotel. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

Excellent location (5 minute walk to the beach, and countless bars and restsurants), comfortable room, friendly reception staff, useful provision of beach towels and beach umbrella. Breakfast staff not so friendly. Nevertheless, on the whole, I have no hesitation in recommending a stay at the Marlin Hotel. Very enjoyable, thank you.
