Reviews of The Egerton House Hotel
One of the best world wide ! Truly exceptional.
The Egerton House Hotel was one of the best hotels we have stayed in worldwide. It has a great location, amazing service, exceptional breakfast, and very stylish decor. We were made to feel at home, so much that we have re-booked to stay on two more occasions this year.

We very much enjoyed our 3 night stay at The Egerton House Hotel. The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous; our room and the hotel environment were very comfortable; the food and drinks were excellent. The location suited us very well, being convenient for several museums and the Royal Albert Hall, and not too far from South Kensington tube. It’s also quiet - by London standards anyway! We would love to return to The Egerton in the future.

In many ways this was an excellent experience. From the moment we arrived, the person who checked us in (I think he was called Ben) was lovely and welcoming, and the service in the bar and in the entrance hall was exemplary. The bartender was especially friendly, and made a mean martini/cocktail. We noticed she was also firm but polite to someone who was not a resident, but who had sought to come into the bar after hours. However, one moment did sour the experience. At breakfast, the server was rather rude and acted - in my opinion - unprofessionally. This began as we joined our friends for breakfast. I was asked what I would like - tea or coffee - but my husband was not. When my coffee arrived, I said politely that my husband hadn't been asked what he would like - and was told that the coffee was meant for both of us. However, this wasn't true, as he hadn't asked/requested coffee at this point. Why the person couldn't simply apologise I'm not sure. Following this, we ordered, and the server came back in, and stated that we did not have the complimentary breakfast. This was said in a raised voice, so that everyone in the room could hear, as if we were being told off. We were well aware that our breakfast was not included - we had decided to place this on our credit which we had been given - and indeed we had been told when we checked in that it was fine to attend breakfast and simply add this to the bill/take this from the credit. Anyhow this soured the morning, especially because we couldn't wait to leave the table. Thus, while I enjoyed everything else at the hotel, I probably wouldn't return, and I probably wouldn't recommend to friends or family, especially if they would visit and receive similar behaviour.

Truly Welcoming Experience
Lovely property with a kind and warm staff that will make you feel exceptionally special. Whatever your plans, end with an exceptional drink in the bar. We especially loved the perfect manhattans- it’s the care and bit of theater that makes it memorable.

Our stay at Egerton House Hotel was absolutely fantastic! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating from the moment we checked in, and our room was spotless with luxurious bedding. Angel W. (Concierge) assisted me in every aspect of my stay. She arranged tours, made theater, and restaurant reservations. She arranged car pick-ups and drop-offs for me. Angel arranged to have a breakfast care package along with coffee ready for us when we departed for a very early excursion. She placed my dinner order and arranged to have it delivered to my room, and it was ready for us when we arrived. She absolutely was amazing and truly made The Egerton House Hotel my home away from home. Her attention to detail was impecable. The hotel's location in the heart of the city made it easy to explore everything on foot, and the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of delicious options, as well as a la carte menu. I especially appreciated the personalized welcome note in my room - it really made me feel valued as a guest. A lit votive candle and bath salt were waiting for us after each turn-down service. I requested a fresh pot of coffee each morning at 5 a.m. and it was delivered to my room along with a smile. We will most definitely return to the Egerton House Hotel again!!! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London, England.

We had the privilege of spending the Christmas holiday at the Egerton Hotel in London. This hotel beats out all of the big-box chain hotels in the area by a mile. It excels in everything it is and does. It is simply classic, while providing every modern necessity. The building is well appointed and maintained and furnished true to its time period, with beautiful furniture, mirrors and art that can be appreciated throughout. Our hotel room was lovely with a beautiful bathroom, large built in closets, and a four-poster queen bed with a pillow top mattress that was soft and firm at the same time. The room also had art pieces in the impressionist and black and white style that could be appreciated as well as beautiful bay windows with a settee. Our hotel room had a fruit and cheese plate and a wonderful welcome note waiting for us when we arrived. Make no mistake about it, this hotel’s greatest asset is its staff, who go above and beyond at every venture. Whether it was the concierge who greeted you every morning when you came down the stairs or when you returned back from an outing, or one of the waiters or waitresses in the the dining room, everyone one simply top notch. They still call a cab if you ask, can tell you where the most obscure monument in England is, walk you step by step to where the nearest Underground Station is, plus they still have nightly turndown service with a chocolate on your pillow every night. They even place a candle in the bathroom so that you have enough light to find your way without turning on lights in the middle of the night. You simply won’t find better. Many thanks to all who made our trip very special.

The Egerton is ideally situated for the Albert Hall, (10 minute walk) which was the reason for our stay. All the staff were very approachable and helpful. A special thank you to Dean, who met us on arrival, for his friendly and efficient service, and Scott, the assistant manager. Both lovely people and a great asset to the hotel. We’ll certainly be back, can't wait!

A wonderful gem of a hotel in central London. The only thing we would change is to have been able to stay longer! We stayed on our wedding night and the staff were all so lovely and kind, and full of congratulations for us. The rooms are very comfortable and full of so many treats. The chaise longue in the corner of our room was possibly the most comfortable seat I have ever sat in. I thought I wasn't going to be able to rouse myself to get up for breakfast. But I am glad I did. We took breakfast in the small but perfectly formed dining room. We would go back again in a heartbeat.

I booked this as a treat for me and my husband and we had such a fantastic stay. We had a 5 star experience without it being pretentious, everyone was so friendly and helpful. We stayed in a classic double room, beautifully decorated and every little touch thought about from the welcome shortbread and fruit to a stationary drawer. The bed was slightly on the small size but I presume it was a standard size and we had booked a ‘double room’ so maybe next time we’d think twice about that but it didn’t mean we didn’t get a good nights sleep. After a very rainy afternoon it was such a luxury to get back and have a bath with lovely products and watch the TV - yes there is a TV in the bathroom! Hospitality - Everyone was helpful, friendly and positive nothing was too much trouble. Nijole who served us breakfast was both professional and lovely, she wasn’t satisfied until she knew we had everything we wanted, even encouraging us to have more! Food and drinks- We were so pleased we chose to have breakfast included (a must!). You can help yourself to a continental breakfast, or choose anything you want from the menu, cooked exactly how you like. My husband was very happy to have crispy bacon and a perfect poached egg, I on the other hand was so happy to have a whole vegan menu to choose from, which meant I had to have 3 courses as it doesn’t happen often at all, and it wasn’t frowned upon either. Flexibility to cater for our dietary requirements and preferences didn’t go unappreciated. We had drinks in the bar, an informal setting but also felt we’d gone back in time the level of service offered made us feel very special. We didn’t eat dinner but heard very good reviews. Location - located a 10 minute walk to Harrods, 5 minutes to the V&A, 10 minutes to the Natural History Museum and 15 minutes to Hyde Park and the Albert Hall, Knightsbridge is a perfect base. Despite being in central london Egerton Terrace is very quiet and you feel tucked away. What I especially liked was the independent restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk away and as you walk there you feel like you’re on the set of Mary Poppins! If you have a sweet tooth like me you’ll struggle to walk past the jars of sweets on offer in reception - nice touch. A very classy and special place indeed. The only negative, once you have stayed here you won’t want to stay anywhere else in London!
