I completed the survey on returning home, which is unusual, but a number of issues were slightly worrying ie couldn’t open the safe, and whilst reported no action was taken. We spent 2 days with no hot water, and it was only when reported this did get sorted. There were a number of other problems, but I left them. Now the biggie!! The night before leaving our bill was emailed to me for $898.25, which was roughly what I expected. I then discovered they had debited my credit card for £3,492.39. I have tried contacting them twice for a refund & TUI whom I booked through. Not had a response from either. My view now is that this is theft. Will someone from the resort investigate and return the money taken from me, with relevant compensation please. ASAP.

Our house keeper, Patrese, was incredibly sweet. She did an amazing job keeping everything tidy and well stocked. We chatted every day and honestly, I really looked forward to catching up with her every time I ran into her.

This was our third time at the Crane, planning on a 4th visit next year. We like the isolation from everything, and being able to walk to the best off resort restaurant on the island, Le Shaq for a special treat. If we want to go somewhere, they have tours available that you can sign up for. I do think the outdoor music by the 1887 is a bit loud though, but we just avoid it.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful week at The Crane Resort. We loved walking around the spacious grounds, savoring the dramatic views from the cliff edge of waves crashing into rocks admiring the well-kept, varied plantings, and delighted by playful monkeys! We spent many hours at the beautiful ocean beach—too rough for me to swim but perfect to walk along and relax on gazing at the turquoise water and waves. enjoyed our meals at D'Onofrio's and Zen at the resort and a short walk outside the resort at Le Shack. One day the wonderful taxi dispatcher Donna set us up with a knowledgable, considerate driver, Steven, who took us to various sites on the east coast—those we requested and a couple of his own favorites. The most notable aspect of our stay was the warmth and cheerfulness of every employee. Landscapers, housekeeping staff, concierge staff, wait staff, and more—would greet us with good morning, good evening, or have a great rest of your day, with warm smiles. They were the friendliest, most accommodating staff we've ever encountered on our travels, and we're no spring chickens. Besides Donna, Shaquan at the front desk was particularly welcoming and kind. Keep up the good work, Crane!

Delightful resort with a true Barbadian feel. Apartments are spacious and well equipped. House keeping staff are excellent and detail oriented. The reception and concierge staff are attentive and knowledgeable. The village area is delightful with bars, shops, restaurants and love music. Barbadian artisan stalls change daily. The ZEN restaurant is outstanding. The Italian restaurant is very average, Hostess stand not always adequately manned and service was slow. Food not always piping hot. Savoury offerings in the Village cafe need to be increased. Bar staff in 1887 are friendly and helpful. Crane beach is breathtaking and staff helpful. The Grove bar is perfect for lunch. The beach BBQ was great fun, food just OK. Fire eaters were amazing!

I highly recommend staying at the Crane Resort anytime you visit Barbados or even if you’re a local you won’t be disappointed 😊. Apart from being affordable, It’s a very secure location approximately 12 minutes drive from the Airport. It’s so peaceful & clean. Staff is so polite & helpful. The rooms are top tier. The ambiance is so relaxing. The beds are literally the softest. There’re many pools to choose from, not to mention plenty restaurants, beach bars and gift shops on property. The food & service is on point simply state any allergies or specifics before ordering 👍🏾 Any problems ( which I highly doubt you’ll have) kindly mention it to any staff member and they’ll resolve it right away ☺️ we’ve tried other hotels before but none can compare to the crane resort so me & my fiancé happily stay twice annually ❤️ you should too, you won’t regret it ✨

My girlfriend & I have recently returned from The Crane and our experience was excellent. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel welcome with a complimentary drink on arrival, and remained on hand during our stay. Our suite was incredibly spacious, elegantly furnished and featured a private balcony & roof terrace with stunning ocean views. The bed was really comfortable and the attention to detail was 10/10. My only suggestion would be to introduce light switches closer to the bed for convenience (so you don’t have to get up to turn the lights off) and adjustable speed settings for the bedroom ceiling fan. Also more clothes hangers for the wardrobes are needed. The beach is a Caribbean gem, with white sand, crystal clear water and plenty of sunbeds. The sea on this side of the island tends to be quite rough though, and during our visit, swimming wasn’t possible. The adult pool perfectly blends modern luxury with ‘old money’ aesthetic. It’s placed high-up, overlooking the ocean with stunning views, and the poolside bar made it an even more enjoyable experience. Worth noting, The Crane is fairly secluded - away from the busier south and west coasts of the island. We hired a car, so this wasn’t an issue, although key destinations for us were typically a 30-40 minutes drive away. During our stay we had breakfast twice at L’Aure. The buffet was nice, though at 50 USD per person, it was overpriced in my view. Tip - on our second visit, we ordered from the à la carte menu which was a much better option, with generous portions and a wide selection with much better value. While the resort itself is undeniably beautiful, we did feel that the restaurants & hospitality lacked a bit of charisma. L’Azure, for example, has the potential to be a world class restaurant with stunning views over Crane beach, but the ambience felt a bit dated and uninspired. Similarly, our dinner at D’Onofrio’s Trattoria on our first night was pleasant and the service was good, but the food itself was average. We also stopped by The Grove (daytime beach restaurant) twice. The first time was perfect, but on our second visit, although its advertised opening hours were 11:00 - 16:30, when we arrived at 15:00 there were no staff in sight. After waiting for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged, we left which was disappointing. It would be great to see the resort invest in improving its dining experiences to match the standard of some of the islands flagship restaurants. Also perhaps somewhere more elegant for drinks, as the only bar ‘1884’ has a very ‘pub’ vibe. Critique aside, we had a fantastic stay and would like to thank the staff for their hospitality. We’d definitely recommend The Crane to those looking for a peaceful and picturesque retreat; we will definitely be returning.

The dining options were what I would expect one receives on a Carnival Cruise ship. The resort would be perfect for some, but we will not return and will not recommend it to our friends. I stayed at the Crane in December to ring in the new year and was totally excited about it as I've stayed st the hotel on several occasions before. Unfortunately it was a disappointment.... after waiting over an hour for food at the Italian restaurant, the food was horrible and was returned to the annoyance of the manager. Had no taste and meat was charred. No hot water in the room, TV and telephone didn't work. Gave a review on the restaurant which to-date has not been acknowledged. The show on old years was the only saving grace..left feeling like I should have checked into another hotel. Was a total failure and waste of money for me.

Just got back home and this resort was top notch. We had invited another couple with us and it was so so much fun. We had " Chester" as our go to for travel to anywhere we wanted to go. Chester took us on an awesome Island tour. He took us to places that lots of other taxi services would never show you. We we shown his secret little places. Of course he also took us to other places as well. Again we would highly recommend CHESTER. He loves his island. We also want to recommend Donna who is the " lobby Ambassador" She was there anytime that you needed assistance in anyway possible. We also were very pleased with Joan as she was our go to person for our HGV vacation. She had made our room into what she herself had suggested for us and our friends arrived. It was also my husband's birthday and she sent over a chocolate decorated cupcake. Again highly recommend this resort. We had the 2 bedroom deluxe garden with a pool and a gazebo with a lush tropical surround. It was perfect for us.

We had an amazing stay at the Crane Resort. The resort, staff and accommodations were beautiful. Pros: Clean room, daily housekeeping with replenishment of towels, colonial style room with nice balcony. Great daily happy hours at the local bar on the resort. Food options were great for vegetarians and non vegetarians in particular Zen and D’Onfrios. Clean pools and plenty of options. Concierge staff was extremely helpful with setting up birthday surprises and excursions. Great off resort restaurant options like Le Shack, Delton’s Roti and Cutters. Gym and pickleball courts were clean and nice to use. Cons: A little bit far from Bridgetown/excursions. Beach was filled with sargassum but they do clean it every day. Could have some more daily activities like aqua aerobics etc.

This Barbados legend of an hotel is still a pleasure to visit but there are some pretty serious issues that management need to tackle. For the prices charged one does not expect surly slow service and downright rude staff at Concierge and Front Desk level. The pools are lovely, the views superb and the beach is an enormous asset. The WiFi is poor ( well it was in my room) and I had issues with the air con, hot water and a bed that was so high off the ground that I fell out of it onto the hard floor when trying to reach the phone. I now have a chipped elbow bone and painful bursitis. When I enquired if there was a medical station at the resort I was told no and so I asked if a crepe bandage might be possible from the medical kit. That was met with the response that some other guest had already got it and there was no replacement on site, but if I went to the shop they could sell me a plaster! Grip rails on the jacuzzi would be welcome. Getting in and out for anyone elderly or even slightly infirm will be a challenge as there is absolutely no support, no step, and it is a sizeable step up to get into it. The breakfast buffet is disappointing but restaurant meals were good, if pricey. The grounds are beautiful and well kept and Housekeeping do an overall good job. And, for heavens sake, why don't they sell stamps in the shop? They'll sell you postcards and then tell you at Front Desk to take a taxi to go and buy stamps. It's silly little details like this that irritate. They need some of the ' can do' attitude that is found in competing destinations all over the world. Barbados sadly, in general, suffers from complacency and ' can't be bothered, take it or leave it' as an attitude. It's a beautiful island with a lot going for it, but a massive amount of education and training is still needed for those in the hospitality sector.

The Crane is an old and beautiful resort with an interesting history. We were impressed by the beautiful foliage on the walkways throughout this large property. It is evident that the owners and staff are working hard to keep up with the repairs. Every area was clean and neat. We were fortunate to have a very nice one bedroom with our own pool and the daily room cleaning by Juanita was good. We were always made to feel welcomed by guest services. Joan and Donna were the best! They arranged taxis, bag pickups, and even sent a bottle of wine to our room to celebrate our anniversary! My only complaints would be there wasn’t always hot water for showering but it was warm enough. They tried to address it but I think it’s a general complaint among most guests. We just tried to go with the flow. Also, there was a lack of umbrellas around the pool areas. Food at the restaurants was very good with the exception of the weekly beach bbq which was subpar. I wouldn’t recommend it.
