We are fans of The Athenaeum and have visited many times. It's our go to whenever we visit London. My advance request for oat and almond milk in our room was sorted for when we arrived which was appreciated. Breakfast is always a treat and you will not go hungry....

We are fans of The Athenaeum and have visited many times. It's our go to whenever we visit London. My advance request for oat and almond milk in our room was sorted for when we arrived which was appreciated. Breakfast is always a treat and you will not go hungry. The one thing that took me by surprise on this visit was the addition of a standard service charge for our stay. For one night, this was only £12.75, but still unexpected. Perhaps this is the way now, although the first time I have come across this in recent times. I didn't see this on the website prior to booking. Would it have stopped me booking? No. But I would have been prepared and not on the backfoot when presented to me for a pre-paid room.

One of the best hotel in London based on the cleanliness, location and the service. You can access to hid park and green park from the street just 3 min walking .. I would love to come back again and again …… Thank you Danial for your 5 star service

I had a wonderful time celebrating my surprise birthday here - a big thank you to Matt who greets with most charming welcome, Debra whom made our breakfasts a delight, and Safia for being so attentive! We can’t wait to stay with you next time 😊.

It was very nice hotel. The service was excellent and all the workers were extremely kind and helpful. Daniel made the stay and experience super memorable. The room was constantly cleaned and the staff always made sure we were accommodated.

One doorman in particular was especially helpful and on a quiet night at the restaurant we had a lovely chat with the chef who gave great insight into the thought behind the dishes he prepares. Can’t wait to try his tips on the charred cabbage!!

Excellent service from the car valet service to the room upgrade (super comfy beds) with a Birthday 'in room' treat! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We had Dinner bed & breakfast (freshly cooked) and it was excellent. All the staff were very attentive and friendly.

Exceptional experience, very nice staff. Thanks to Daniel and all of his colleagues, they made it very unforgettable time. Just don’t go for room no#14 at each floor as it’s so norrow and doesn’t have any good view. (My personal opinion)…..

This is our third time at this wonderful hotel and I’m sure we’ll be back. Everything about this place is perfect. All the staff are very friendly it would be difficult to single out one member. They all went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. Our room was super comfortable and breakfast was of high quality. Good location in the city for visiting the attractions along with the shops of course. Only a 20 minute walk to Harrods.

Stayed in the residences with our dachshund and from arrival to departure everything was simply amazing , wonderful room with private entrance which was really helpful , staff are superb and we could even take her in with us for breakfast . I literally can’t wait to stay here again

Extremely slow breakfast service (25 minutes including queueing even to get tea and coffee) due to poor organisation and low staff numbers. One member of staff did try her best. Poor buffet offering also. Small quiet (superior double) room which was spotless. However creaky uneven floors with very ruckeled carpets....

Generally spotless with notable exception which was surprising (see picture). Others have had very good experiences but I would not return simply because of the breakfast issue. Who wants to waste time in London waiting a long time for coffee and breakfast?

The hotel offers excellent, high-quality facilities and a truly professional staff. Visiting from Dubai, UAE, we have high standards for comfort, and we were pleased with the variety of apartment sizes available—from small to large—providing flexibility for any type of trip. The breakfast is reasonably priced yet is on par, if not even better than those served at renowned five-star hotels such as Marriott, Sheraton or any other premium hotels. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning to this hotel on future visits to London, whether for business or leisure. Notably, Dan went above and beyond by preparing a coffee an hour before breakfast started - an exceptional gesture. Additionally, concierges William and Miguel assisted us even outside regular working hours, demonstrating a remarkable level of hospitality that we rarely encounter on our travels. We highly recommend this "The ATHENAEUM Hotel & Residences", conveniently located in the heart of Central London.

Amazing vegan afternoon tea experience, we also had the tea trolley where Debra made us a bespoke tea blend, which tasted delicious. All staff very friendly, great ambiance in the restaurant where we ate, went for the 12.30 sitting which was quiet, but soon filled up.

Delicious sandwiches, scones and desserts. They have such a wide variety of teas and all were amazing. The atmosphere/decor is adorable. Urmila was amazing, as was all the staff. 10/10 would recommend for your London visit high tea experience!

Had the afternoon tea, plus tea blending session with Debra. A lovely afternoon spent, delicious sandwiches and beautiful sweets tree at the end. The tea was blended to our own tastes. We left completely stuffed full and very happy. What a treat.

We only stayed one night at the Athenaeum, but thanks to Daniel the doorman, it felt like we were longtime guests. His warmth, attentiveness, and incredible service truly stood out and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The rest of the staff were just as welcoming and kind, creating a genuinely hospitable atmosphere throughout the hotel. On top of that, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and we got one of the best night’s sleep we’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait to come back.

We came here for a spa experience with cream tea for my husband's 40th birthday and the service was outstanding from the moment we stepped in the door. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The spa experience was excellent - we shared a separate review on this - highly recommended for sure! Afterwards, we were booked for a cream team and the Nepalese lady that served us was so lovely - she gave us a list of upgrade options, so we upgraded to a selection of sandwiches and a bottle of Champagne. Even the Chef came out to ask us about our trip and to discuss the menu. My husband trains in Forbes Standards for hotels and he said they would have scored very highly if there decided to go for that accreditation - attentive service with a smile! Thank you - you've made a milestone experience memorable!

We were given a Christmas gift from our daughter for the spa. It was a wonderful experience. The spa was very luxurious and the treatments we received were amazing. All the staff were very professional and welcoming. We will definitely come here again.

Brilliant afternoon trying a gin cocktail masterclass inc. three cocktails with canapes at The Athanaeum. We had a French 75, Clover Club and a dry Martini all under the expert tutelage of Alessandro. A warm and hospitable mixologist at the top of his game.
