This is my 2nd time at this hotel and it’s the best hotel I have ever been to. The staff, restaurants, drinks and entertainment are outstanding. I’ve stayed at 5 star hotels but this hotel knocks it out of the park. The only complaint is , I had to go home. I would and I do recommend this hotel to everyone. This is the only hotel I have walked into and had the WoW factor. If anyone can complain about this hotel they have serious issues because if you don’t like Stella Island nothing will pls you.

Stella island is a very beautiful hotel. We stayed in a swim up room which was very nice and modern, also brilliant for having your own sun beds and terrace to enjoy the sunshine! We came end of October and the weather could be a little overcast for anyone thinking of booking during this time! Also the pool was quite chilly! We had an all inclusive package which included the buffet, one time visit to each A la Carte restaurants and all drinks. We also took advantage of the room service included for an €8 delivery fee. The food on a whole was great. Breakfast was amazing. The buffet lunch/dinner was a little hit and miss. We preferred the waiter service lunch. Steak, Sushi and Mexican restaurants were all very good! The only thing I would say having looked at the prices we would of had to of paid on half board, the dishes seemed a little over priced. Entertainment was very good! Lots of different performances during the week in the evenings! Lovely selection of drinks including cocktails! The staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Overall a lovely peaceful week! If you’re looking for a lovely chilled out quiet holiday, this is the place for you. I’d love to return one day.

We had a nice week at Stella Island. We were a bit apprehensive about what the weather would be like in early November, but we were treated to some sunny days. The hotel is beautifully designed and lives up to the photos. We didn’t have a swim-up room but had no problems getting sunbeds, which are really comfortable. It’s a lovely and tranquil place to enjoy the sun. The fact that it’s an adult only hotel also contributes to the relaxed vibe. We were half-board and we honestly thought the food was excellent. We didn’t feel the need to even try the a la carte restaurants (which cost extra) because the standard buffet was so good! The service in the restaurants, and the whole hotel, was also excellent. We ate so well at breakfast and dinner that we often didn’t need lunch. The gym has a good standard of equipment; we used it every day and were always able to access the machines/kit we wanted to use. The nightly entertainment is generally high quality for hotel entertainment. Similar to a previous reviewer, for us the negative is the hotel’s location. Regardless of how nice a hotel is, we don’t want to stay in it all day and all night; we like to go out for a stroll and drinks in the local area. There’s very little in walking distance of the hotel. The nearby Analipsi is a residential village, not a resort. We walked through it a number of times on the way to and from the bus-stop, both during the day and evening, and it was completely deserted. The whole time we we there we didn’t see any other people walking around. The few restaurants that were open had no more than a handful of people in them (most were empty) and the two bars we saw were empty. We weren’t looking for a club scene but we do like to see other human beings when we go out! Granted, we did visit in early November…maybe in the summer Analipsi is buzzing… To get to anywhere else you either have to use the bus, which is affordable but it’s a 20 minute walk each way from the hotel to the nearest bus-stop.. ok during the day but it’s not a nice walk at night…or get a taxi. A taxi to Hersonissos is 20E each way. A taxi to Heraklion is 40E each way. So it quickly gets really costly to go anywhere if you want to spend evenings outside of the hotel. It feels rough to be scoring the hotel down because of where it’s situated, but had we spent more time researching the location (we booked last minute) I think we wouldn’t have chosen to stay there. I doubt we’ll return for the same reason. Which is a shame because the hotel is lovely. If you’re happy just staying in the hotel and sitting in exactly the same place every night (which many folks are), then I’m sure you’ll love it.

Our first time at this hotel arriving the 30th October 2024 for a week, staying in a luxury swim up room, we only booked half board but upgraded on arrival for €55 euros each well worth it. We were welcomed from stepping foot into reception, literally every member of staff we met at this hotel during our stay were amazing but must go be a special mention to Maria who served us drinks at Umbra she really is a asset to this hotel we had chats everyday with her during our stay and she always had a lovely smile 😊 All the food was amazing out favourite being the Steak restaurant the best fillet steak I've ever tasted cooked to perfection, and the cocktails well need to detox on our return to England😂 All in all the most fabulous week at this beautiful hotel, the only criticism I have is the luxury swim up rooms are not soundproof and our neighbours didn't respect others and we could literally hear them day and night which was rather annoying!! Thank you Stella Island for a lovely relaxing week 🍾🍸🍺❤️x

We visited Stella Island in August. It was a 50th birthday treat. Having just returned from a 5 * hotel in Malta, I felt it only right to say how just wonderful Stella Island Crete is. Upon arrival at midday, we were warmly welcomed with a lovely, refreshing drink. We were transported immediately to our beautiful, air conditioned room. And what a lovely view we had from our balcony. The room was modern, spacious and superbly equipped. The first 2 nights we had noise issues. The hotel offered to move us rooms immediately. We declined and then were presented with a lovely bottle of prosecco, the most delicious chocolates and fresh fruit as a way of apology and for all the inconvenience. Buffet breakfast was delightful. Fresh orange juice, fresh food and attentive staff. Evening buffet was also fantastic. A delight of fresh cooked fish, local dishes and everything to please the most pickiest of eater. Table service was swift and friendly. Noticing that sunbeds were reserved very early on, we opted for the small beach, a short walk away. Sunbeds were free, with a parasol and it was just the ticket. A nice, safe, enclosed swimming area with a truly lovely ambience and sun all day! Later on, just before our buffet tea, we opted to explore Analipsi each evening. Upon first glance, it seems rather quiet, yet exploring beyond the main street, we found the most excellent, welcoming bars and tavernas. There are countless little supermarkets also, so we often purchased a few local beverages to enjoy on our balcony after our evening meal. We stayed half board here, mid August. It wasn't cheap but we were not disappointed. It's a lovely hotel and a lovely place. Sometimes you just have to get out there, explore and enjoy. Oh and it's 100% better than our 5* Malta experience. Live and learn.

We have recently returned from Stella Island All Inclusive and had an amazing time. The hotel and staff are fantastic and you could wish for a better holiday. Marieanna who managed the reception with her staff and in particular Iwanna and Erasmia were wonderful you couldn’t wish for the best support from them and they are now our family. Anything you asked of them was never a problem. The buffet was out of this world and the food was exceptional. The dessert quality of chocolate was the best I have tasted. There are also restaurants that you can visit from Asia, Greek, the Steak House, fish and Mexican if you couldn’t find something nice to eat then you should stay at home. Special thanks to Adi, Lisa, Joseph, Erika and Eirini who looked after us when we were in Kamata for breakfast, lunch and evening meal you were brilliant. Leonidas you are the best bartender that we have seen your drinks were amazing and you made cocktails an art form. And last but not least George who we spent many meaningful conversations with and who made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. The room was cleaned superbly every day. We look forward to seeing see you next year love Barbara and Roy x

This is not a 5 star resort also it is NOT an all inclusive only one third of the drinks are all inclusive the other two thirds you have to pay for. The bar for the all inclusive stops at 11pm after that you have to pay for everything. They only serve glasses of wine in the restaurant if you want a bottle you have to pay for it. The buffet restaurant is very limited choice and the desserts are the same nearly every day . Entertainment finishes about 10 pm when they have it and is not very good . All of the staff are very good very friendly and will do anything for you but the Hotel lets them down

Leaving here this afternoon after a great week. The hotel is stunning, spotlessly clean and the staff are fantastic. The food is some of the best we’ve ever had and plenty of it, best to book all the a’la carte via guest services as soon as you arrive don’t bother with their app. The room was nice but a bit of an odd layout with the shower/sink setup. Also be very aware if you’ve booked a swim up room, in late or early season when the sun is lower many of these don’t get any sun or very little all day. Bad points…..location. There isn’t much around and not exactly a picturesque walk along the front by the beach/rocks. The ‘private beach’ is also a very poor effort. Overall though we loved the place, very chilled and relaxing. I think it’s lived off a bit of instagram hype since it opened but it’s not ‘all that’ really. We wouldn’t come back mainly due to the location we like a decent beach front in a resort which this place is really lacking to make it a genuine 5 star.

We have just arrived home from the most amazing trip and experience at the Stella Island resort. Absolutely everything was fantastic; the views and resort were breathtaking, the food was absolutely outstanding, our room was beautiful, the entertainment was great and last but not least the staff were unbelievable, nothing was ever too much trouble, they were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Special mention to ; Erasima at guest relations, she was so so kind, friendly and went above and beyond, Viktor at the bar for making the most amazing cocktails and also for being so friendly George ( I can’t recall the Greek spelling) for our in room dining experience he was so friendly and no request was too much for him and finally Erica in the buffet restaurant she was just a breath of fresh air, always a smile on her face and a joy to be around everyday. All of the staff are a credit to the resort. We are already planning our next trip back. Thank you Stella island for an amazing holiday/ 40th birthday trip for my husband

A lovely peaceful resort which is very well maintained and beautifully set out. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the variety of bars and restaurants, provided a perfect balance. Shout out to Anastasia who was an absolute gem for making us feel so welcome and looked after. The food varied depending on the restaurant but was by and large good and the quality of drinks included within the all inclusive package, were far superior than many other hotels. There are a good selection of bars & tavernas just a 5-8min walk along the seafront, which provided additional options. The only small negative was the limited evening entertainment, however if you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing break, as we were, this wasn’t really an issue.

4 star not 5 due to the food being good not great! General Stunning grounds and pools with very serene feel to it. The swim up rooms are lovely but people sun bath and walk past so not very private. No problem finding sun loungers in October. The pools are all swim up so not a main large pool as such A nice hotel if you want to chill and do nothing. Food We managed to eat in all the restaurants. You pick one starter, one main and one dessert. There are some wines as part of AI package. The food was good but not amazing. Limited for veg or fussier eaters. Room service menu good but comes with 8 euro tray charge per time Breakfast was buffet and good quality. Lunch offerings was ok but little repetitive. Drinks Really good cocktails at all the bars Location Beach is about 5 min walk - mainly rocky with few sandy patches. Not the wow beaches you get in some parts of Crete though. The hotel is on a flight path so you do hear planes. A little town about 10 mins walk and larger town of Hersionnossos 15 mins in taxi at about 15 euros each way Main centre of Heraklion is 35-40 euros each way or you can hire a car for about 40 euros and drive. Local shop, car hire and excursions just a few mins from the hotel Rooms Nice rooms but designed for couples as open plan including the shower. Paper thin walls mean you hear people walking past rooms etc Entertainment Good shows - similar styles but decent quality

A great holiday for couples looking to relax. I’ve read lots of reviews and the negative ones are mainly because you don’t get the sun all day by your swim up pool, or you have to pay a tray charge of €8 to bring you drinks. Well if you walk around 20 yards to another sunbed away from your balcony you can get the sun, and drinks are free to your sunbed. The staff make you feel special from your welcome drink through to your last day there. Everywhere is super clean, the alacarte restaurants are just brilliant, only the fish restaurant wasn’t to my taste as the food is prepared not cooked long enough. The entertainment was very good but could have been longer, only 1 hr per night. The larger was not to my liking but the wine, cocktails and rum was. Overall a great holiday and we would return.

There is so much to review for this hotel... So I am going to break everything down. HOTEL - GOOD POINTS: The hotel was immaculate, cleaners came every day, fresh towels every day, the staff were lovely very friendly especially Joanna on reception, Maria who works on the pool bar and Cat who works in on the bar where the night time entertainment is. Very quiet location literally nothing around. ROOM: We had a luxury room, quite small. Our shower was very temperamental temp was either scolding hot or freezing cold and was spraying all over the place. I would not pay extra for a swim up room you are in the shade all day and do not get the same service as being on a regular sun lounger or cabana around the pool. Your room has a TV but ours only had 1 English speaking channel. Ironing board, iron & hairdryer in the room. The hotel is massive so if you have a room further away from the main reception you will have a bit of a walk for the buffet restaurant. The white store on site is very expensive, there is another shop opposite where the exit to the beach is. Gorgeous Church outside by the entrance. CHECKING IN: Very quick transfer check in was a bit messy after a full day of travelling, had to download an app to book into the onsite restaurants but you have to do this as soon as you arrive or you will not get into the restaurants on site. Had to give a card at reception for them to hold and show holiday confirmation even though they hold all of your details. Taken to our room in in a Golf cart. FUN! RESTURANTS: We stayed for a week so we were able to eat in the restaurants once each. 5 al la carte on the complex but book as soon as you can, 3 courses each off the menu, most of the meals were lovely. Buffet restaurant was lovely too could be warm food rather than hot but is buffet food ever hot? Breakfast was the same every morning, fresh omelettes and crepes were available. I have had a couple of issues with 'additional guests' during breakfast as it is kept open, there seemed to be flies on literally everything and one morning my OJ had a maggot in! I told a member of staff who did not seem to understand how rancid that was. F&B manager came to apologise nothing more. All inclusive finishes at 11pm, sad really because the afterparty continues until 12pm. Room service is available 8 euro per tray for whatever you want on the menu but you can have anything you want, ordered via the app or the telephone. SPA: We pre booked the spa for a CBD oil massage, it was amazing but it was 260 euro for 2 of us for an hour, very expensive but if you want a massage there is nowhere else to go. ENTERTAINMENT: The entertainments is quite repetitive, average signing from Pablo and the on site dancers. Anna was another singer who was quite scary, very theatrical, amazing voice but quite scary. Some of the shows were basically a stage full of young people dry humping in next to nothing clothes, each to their own I know some would enjoy that! Same repetitive playlist played around the pool felt a bit like groundhog day. There is a mini golf course available which was not great but broke the day up. Overall I don't think we would stay here again the price you pay you do not expect to have maggots in your drink or bugs on your food. The themed nights in the restaurant were good but did not cater for all.
