What can I say other than the word AMAZING. My husband and I visited Solaz for our ten year anniversary. Ahead of our arrival, I reached out to the concierge team to let them know, not expecting much other than a list of amenities I could purchase to celebrate. Instead, we were celebrated multiple times over by the staff across the property. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our butler who gave us a tour of the property in a golf cart, then dropped us off at Mako for beach front lunch. We were given our room at approximately 2. We were upgraded (Platinum Elite member) to a plunge pool ocean view. That room delivered views and comfort. I came to TripAdvisor ahead of my trip to find specific information that I never found, so my review here includes some of those things: - you can use the spa to change into your swimsuits if you arrive early and want to enjoy the pool - they have a market on site for alcohol, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, toiletries etc. - the pools are heated perfectly which was welcomed for our February visit - A part of our elite status with Bonvoy, we had the choice of 1,000 points or free breakfast daily. We chose the free breakfast which included a full buffet. - we did not get approached once about timeshares - they offer transportation directly through the hotel that's charged to your room. While other services in the area are cheaper, i found this convenient, quick and easy. - We used a taxi to leave property and uber to go back. I didn't try to take uber from the hotel. - The distance to Cabo is about 15 minute drive and to San Jose its about 20 minutes. Its truly the best location. - I don't know about the road noise from the tower rooms, but i am sure its not quiet. We heard it walking through the property, but not in the plunge pool room, nor at the pool. - We had dinner at Al Paiso one night - sat at the bar outside. LOVED the food there and do recommend if you want to stay on property. - Other reviews say the food and drinks are expensive. Its called a "Luxury Collection" so I would expect it to be pricy. For example, we spent $100 with tax and tip for lunch at Mako (two drinks and two lunches). I would personally expect that at a property such as this. - the plunge pool room had a shower that opened up to an outdoor shower. SO COOL. - The plunge pool was semi-heated. It was swimmable during the day but brisk at night. We didn't have neighbors, but i could see how it would be weird if they were also outside swimming at the same time. - The pools don't have signs indicating "kids only" (not that I found anyway). But their website says there are two. I have to wonder if you have kids if the butlers let you know those exist so that families stay at those pools. The pool next to Mako was adults only the entirety of our stay. - There were plenty of chairs at the pool. The only ones gone by mid-morning were the ones directly next to the pool which isn't surprising. But the rest were wide open. I also want to shout out to Yolanda (who btw never asked me to do this unlike other resorts we have stayed at). She was our waitress daily at Caracel breakfast and she was always smiling and helpful. The only off-putting thing about the resort is the swim up bar. We ordered drinks and kept our tab open. But, if we got out of the pool, even just for a break, to use the restroom, or grab lunch, the bartenders were chasing us down to close our tab like we weren't coming back. I have no doubt its because people have walked off before. I just didn't love that part, but we still continued to use the swim-up bar. Overall incredible trip and will absolutely be going back.

This is going to be a very mixed review and hard for me to pick a rating, so I am going middle of this road with a 2-3/5. However, for what we wanted for the 4 nights, it was a 1/5; I was delighted to leave/come home. This was NOT a relaxing trip or trip that I needed/ wanted at all. I used 389K points for 4 nights and there was a small cash pay with it. The cash rate when we were there was $1300-1500 USD per night, which is insane for this place. We will never stay here again. It's just not for us, but it might be incredible for others. To all the families there, I assume they had a great time just letting their kids throw balls all over the pool, playing marco polo paying no attention to them, and letting the pool staff stand there miserable. I read reviews that this place was geared towards adults; some complained about no adults pool, but noted the resort itself was adult catering, so we gave it a go. We were there the week before Christmas and it was full of kids, maybe horrible timing, or bad planning on the part of the hotel to not have an adults pool. Most families have 2-5 kids with them. For the price you pay to stay/eat/drink there- they need an adults pool and it was a crime they did not turn one of the 3 massive pools into an adults only area. Throw up a sign and cater to people dropping a lot of money. We were some of them and spent most of the day annoyed and stressed. We just wanted to sit at the bar/pool and eat and drink...in fact, we could/ would have spent a lot more money. The rooms: We got a plunge pool room. We never used the plunge pool. It is NOT private at all. In fact, it's a large shared strip pool and separated per room by 4 tall cacti. I was well aware when my neighbor was "skinny dipping" and trying to coax his wife/date/ladyfriend in there with him. It was way more than I needed to see or hear. There are so many annoying things about the rooms for a "luxury collection" hotel. - The coffee cups are too small for the pour of the machine, so you must stand there and hit STOP when it gets to the top, or it overfills. - The bifold closet doors open into the shower and the toilet. So you can't open the closet and enter/exit the toilet or shower- major (easily fixed) design flaw! - The bath products stink so badly of perfume. It was vile. To the point that I was sick (headache and dizzy) the first night there -- I removed the soap, lotion, shampoo from the room and asked the desk if they have anything else. They said they would send it, never did, and I had to buy some overpriced stuff at their marketplace on property. Of course, the next day they sent stuff to my room. I ended up leaving a bunch of less toxic full sized products in the room. I hope housekeeping made good use of them! - The toilet paper in the rooms and all over the property are perfumed. I was unable to find TP without perfume on it; It was total overkill. I realize I am smell sensitive, but this place was next level with the offensive perfume scents. Good luck not getting a rash. I had to drag tissues around with me. - The AC has a low-grade annoying hum. We ended up turning it off and sleeping with tthe door open. - Once day we came back to the room and saw a rag holding the door open; we assumed they were in process cleaning. Nope, they just left a rag in the door so our room was wide open to anyone! The Gym: Fantastic (great treadmills and some outdoor workout space too), but they only hand out washcloths, not hand towels. So, if you need a towel to use the gym, you need to bring it from your room. Spend a few bucks and put some handtowels at the gym! This seemed next level cheap to me. On the last day I was there a 6 year old was in the gym. This is not a kids gym or a kids club. The kids were everywhere! The Spa: No one tells you or puts on the online confirmation email when you book that you need a bathing suit to use the jacuzzi and plunge pools as they are co-ed. I did not bring one to the spa, was unable to get back to my room quickly, and had a massage booked (which was fantastic!) I asked for a pass to come back and use the jacuzzi since the pool one is lukewarm at best (for the kids!) and was denied. I did speak up and told them this was pretty insane... I was spending $300 for a massage so really think another hour day pass for the next day to use a jacuzzi is doable. They offered me to come before 10am the next day. I was so over haggling with them, I declined. Upon leaving, I think they realized they were being cheap so said I could come back anytime the next day for a jacuzzi. I was so put off by the whole thing, I skipped. The massage beds are also not heated, and the massage rooms are cold. The spa itself is tiny and they really lurk. In the steam room I was asked if I wanted 5 or 10 minutes in there-- the place was empty and I was being timed. I visit the spa at almost every hotel I stay at this. The Westin nearby, for a much cheaper pricepoint, has a better spa and staff working there. Food/Drink: It's good. B+/A- but insane overpriced as everyone has noted. I was expecting that and would be fine paying it if I was not annoyed about everything else. The one time we opted for the overpriced breakfast ($170 for 2 people with 1 mimosa each), I was told there was a 15 minute wait. Half the tables were empty, yet we were told to wait 15 minutes for at table. It was just one thing after another at this place. A "cheap" glass if wine was $around 15-18 USD. Most of them were in the $30-40 USD range. Glass of Moet $90 USD. One night I asked for a booking at the sushi place; I had to ask 3 times, so assumed it was busy. Nope, totally empty. Nice staff at the sushi bar and it was a good flavor/drink mix up from the rest of the hotel. Pros: - Alonso at the bar was a gem. He realized and knew how to cater to adults wanting to eat/drink/ relax. Felix helping him for the night was also super cool and could tell that we just wanted a calm vibe. Thanks to these two guys and getting us a pizza/salad/drinks at the bar our last night htere. - You can swim in the ocean; by husband did laps every morning for 30- 40 mins. It's very swim able right in front of the hotel. - Property is stunning and very clean. Landscaping is lovely. Everything is clean. tl;dr: This is not a Ritz or a St Regis and is really far from one. If that is what you are looking for, book there. We wish we did!

Beware! We booked this hotel through hotels.com and canceled the reservation within the cancellation window. The hotel still charged my card and refused to refund my money or acknowledge the cancellation policy clearly stated on the hotels.com website. Hotels.com finally got involved and told me the hotel would refund the entire amount. A few weeks later I got a partial refund. At this point there is no point going back and forth with these thieves. If you can’t even trust them during the reservation process I would never trust this hotel with a card on file.

Solaz Los Cabos Our week-long vacation at Solaz Los Cabos felt like two very different experiences, but overall, it was a fantastic stay with some memorable moments. Setting & Architecture The resort’s design is a beautiful blend of contemporary and natural elements, creating a serene and visually stunning environment. Solaz has seamlessly integrated itself into the surrounding landscape, making it feel secluded and peaceful, whether it's day or night. The property is a mix of the main resort, timeshares, and residences. At check-in, we were offered the opportunity to attend a timeshare presentation, which we politely declined. While it felt a little unusual, they were not pushy at all, and we were able to move on quickly. Pools There are several pools on property, each with its own vibe—some more family-oriented, others more tranquil. The pool area is well-maintained with plenty of seating. However, by mid-vacation, we noticed a frustrating trend: pool chairs were being reserved early in the morning (7:30 am 😱) , even though many guests wouldn’t show up until hours later. The staff, particularly Pedro, Juan and Jorge, were exceptional at ensuring we had a good experience. Pedro, especially, made a personal effort to greet us by name each day, which was a nice touch. Dining All the restaurants at Solaz were excellent. The food was consistently delicious, and we didn’t have a bad meal. Yes, some guests may grumble about the cost (as one might expect at a resort), but when factoring in the convenience and the price of eating off-property, the difference wasn’t too significant. The breakfast buffet is extensive, and the pizza oven serves up great pies until 5:00 pm (definitely try them). The churros at Al Pirro were out of this world, and the service there was impeccable. Room We stayed in a one-bedroom plunge pool suite, which was absolutely amazing. The suite was spacious, well-decorated, and very comfortable, with a bed and pillows that ensured a restful night’s sleep every time. The plunge pool was a nice touch, offering a private space to cool off or relax away from the crowds. Some guests have commented that the plunge pools are small, but we found it perfect for its intended purpose. However, there were a few minor negatives: The bathroom lighting made it challenging to do makeup properly. There was no full-length mirror for outfit checks. The shower water temperature never quite reached the level of hot we prefer (it stayed around lukewarm), but we made do, considering it as invigorating rather than a setback. Service The service at Solaz was generally good, but it was a bit inconsistent. The best service we received was poolside, where the attendants—particularly those handling food and towel service—were outstanding. The service at Al Pirro was also top-notch. Housekeeping was exceptional, with the team maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and attention to detail, making it some of the best we’ve experienced during our extensive travels. Fitness/Spa/On-Site Activities The resort offers a well-equipped gym, which was sufficient for getting in a good workout. However, I was surprised to find that regular fitness classes weren’t part of the standard offerings. While they occasionally bring in an instructor for select classes, it’s not the same as having a consistent fitness schedule included in the stay—something I’ve come to expect from other resorts. As for the spa, it was a mixed experience. Unfortunately, the spa services we had hoped to book weren’t available during our stay. That said, the spa facilities themselves were impressive. The hydrotherapy pools, with varying temperatures and hydroponic features, were some of the best I’ve seen. There was also a refreshing freshwater pool that provided a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Overall, while the fitness and spa offerings could have been more comprehensive, the spa’s hydrotherapy amenities were a standout feature. If you're looking for a place to unwind and enjoy some quiet relaxation, this resort does offer a beautiful space to do so. Final Thoughts As Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium Elite members, we travel often, for work and pleasure and have stayed at numerous properties worldwide, the majority of which are Marriott resorts. Solaz Los Cabos holds its own, offering an exceptional stay in a breathtaking location. Though there were a few minor hiccups with the service and the pool chair situation, they didn’t detract from what was otherwise a fantastic vacation. We would definitely recommend this resort, especially if you're looking for a luxurious yet peaceful getaway. Enjoy your next vacation at Solaz

For my birthday this year, I decided to travel to Cabo and stay at Solaz. It was truly an incredible experience with the best customer service I have ever encountered. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with smiles. Alma, the front desk concierge, was very welcoming. She made the check in process very easy which was very much appreciated after traveling for nearly 10 hours. She made sure we were happy with our accommodations. My two butlers, Jorge and Veronica, went above and beyond for us every single day. They communicated with us around the clock when needed and ensured we had the best time—not just at the resort but in Cabo as well. Every day, we went to the beach, where Jesus took great care of us. He always made sure we were well looked after. Solaz was easily one of the best travel experiences of my life. Impeccable customer service, stunning views, delicious food, and luxurious rooms. I cannot wait to return. Thank you, Jorge, Veronica,Alma, and Jesus. We will be back.

From beginning to end, the service we received was top notch. Upon arrival, lead bellman Omar set the tone. He provided vital information about transportation options, and was always looking out for us. Ubers were easy to use, and the bell staff will drop you off and pick you up from the front entrance. We never waited more than 2 minutes for our Uber rides. All drivers spoke English. Omar also provided detailed information about our ocean view room in the towers. We were very surprised to find a rolling 3-piece wooden door that we slid closed at night to cut down on the road noise. And yes, there *is* road noise in the towers, but the sliding door made quite a difference. (Funny how the haters seem to forget to mention this feature.) After reading in reviews that brunch at Cascabel was $60 pp, we were very pleasantly surprised to find it was really only $38 pp, and a terrific value at that. Gourmet food was prepared to order (tacos, quesadillas, omelettes, etc.) and the french toast was the best we've ever tasted--anywhere. Fresh squeezed juices were abundant, and the chilaquiles were to die for. However, the star of Cascabel was Yolanda. She was amazing!! Her recommendations and highly-personalized service made the trip to Solaz worth every penny. She even presented us with a thoughtful departure gift on our last day. Mako was our go-to place for poolside snacks and drinks. The service was frequent, and the food of excellent quality. The pretzel roll chicken sandwich was delish!! Oh, and ask for your margaritas with a half salt/half tahine rim. Housekeeping was spot on. They really do go the extra mile. Please, leave a daily tip for these hardworking ladies. As mentioned, yes, there is some road noise at this property. Is it a deal breaker? Absolutely not. We travel with earplugs anyway, so it really wasn't a big deal. We asked to have our mini-fridge emptied, and it was worth our while to stock up on beer, Topo Chico, and snacks at the nearby Fresko. In our opinion, this is not a suitable property for kids, children, or teens. It is obvious the resort was created for relaxation and not family activities. Speaking of relaxation, the massage I had by Ana was wonderful. Is the spa cheap? No, but the facilities are state of the art. Having also recently stayed at the Ritz Carlton Zadun, we can say that there is much more value at Solaz. Plus, being in the corridor made getting around really easy. Omar and Yolanda, thank you for going out of your way to ensure our trip was unforgettable in every way. The Solaz family is so lucky to have you. We hope to see you again soon.

The room was beautiful and the cleaning staff was wonderful! Seeing the whales was also fun. Our favorite part though was the staff, they were always genuinely kind and so helpful. They make you feel like you are family. I felt so comfortable there and truly felt spoiled!!! This is paradise!!!
