We have stayed at The Sofitel, Legend, The Grand a number of times over the past years and have always been delighted with the standard of service and level of comfort within the hotel. The extremely warm welcome upon arrival was highlighted further, with an upgrade to a Suite with a Butler. Everything was perfect. The room was warm, spacious and cosy and had all the amenities we could have wished for, including fresh milk brought to our room for our tea and a wonderful view of the canal. We had dinner in Bridges and very much enjoyed the dining experience. Things have evolved with the menu and the restaurant since our previous visit, but it is still very good, made even more pleasant with the professional, yet warm and friendly service. We look forward to our next visit to Amsterdam and another opportunity to stay at Sofitel, The Grand.

Great historical location- great service - loved the location. Enormous history - centuries of use. Service team very friendly and helpful. Right down street from red light distric offering colorful entertainment for a walkabout. Highly recommended!

Amsterdam is beautiful and interesting in the Wintertime, and I recommend a stay at this wonderful historic hotel, which looks even better than normal with its Christmas lights and decorations, and is well worth going to after these come down as well! I won't attempt to name them all, but...

Amsterdam is beautiful and interesting in the Wintertime, and I recommend a stay at this wonderful historic hotel, which looks even better than normal with its Christmas lights and decorations, and is well worth going to after these come down as well! I won't attempt to name them all, but everyone working at the hotel is kind and professional, and go out of their way to be thoughtful to returning guests, which we appreciate more than words can say. Many people have been working at the hotel for a very long time, which speaks volumes in itself. We will return as soon as we can, and would recommend a stay in this marvellous hotel to anyone.

Nice place in the city maybe to near dirty area , this hotel was beautiful , but today it’s really old , the rooms are old and feeling dirty even dirty , hope Sofitel will invest !!!! And make deep cleaning inside the room . Also hope they forbidden people...

What a warm & welcoming hotel. From the moment we arrived in the early morning we were so warmly greeted. They offer an impressive breakfast buffet + full menu service. A friendly, efficient & professional service staff took good care of us that morning. Our room was very well appointed- an extremely comfortable bed- and a luxurious bathroom. Nice & quiet and a beautiful view of the courtyard below from our windows. The hotel is rich in history but what sets it apart are the wonderful, friendly staff and fabulous location.

Very nice hotel in Amsterdam. Highly recommend it. We arrived at noon but were told the rooms are ready at 3:00 p.m. It was not. We spend 9 hours in an overnight flight and were tired, fell asleep in the lounge. Repeated visits to the front desk didn't help. We were finally given our room key at 4:10 p.m. Although a slow start, we enjoyed the rest of our stay. The room was fine. The bar, The Flying Dutchman, was great and enjoyed two evening there. The breakfast buffet room was fine and the service good. We had our dinner at the dining room bar. Simple but very nice. The staff were wonderful even after my repeated requests to see if the room was ready.

Beyond expectations again and again. 3rd time in the hotel, and cannot wait to be back. Staff is incredible and going above and beyond in every possible way. Better than home. Best front office, guest services and concierge team. Highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Our stay at The Grand completely exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived until the day we (sadly) departed a week later, The Grand felt like home. Every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The Concierge group was particularly engaging and helpful. The breakfast “buffet” was delicious and the staff friendly. In our room overlooking a canal, we could hear the bells with our windows open. Staying at The Grand was truly a 5-star experience. Highly recommend!!

We stayed here four nights. Perfect location from which to explore Amsterdam. The staff is very professional and courteous. Our room was made up promptly each morning. The room itself was large and the bed very very comfortable. We had lunch at Oriole. Not inexpensive but very good. Highly recommend.

As always … stylish, comfortable and in a perfect location from which to explore the amazing city of Amsterdam. Friendly professional service and excellent food (we had breakfast and dinner in Bridges and dinner in Oriole - all great meals).

The hotel and staff were excellent in every way. Professional, polite and were happy to go out of their way for us. On our return journey home to the UK we managed to leave a rucksack with our passports in at one of the busy tram stops near the hotel...

The hotel and staff were excellent in every way. Professional, polite and were happy to go out of their way for us. On our return journey home to the UK we managed to leave a rucksack with our passports in at one of the busy tram stops near the hotel in Central Amsterdam! On arrival at Amsterdam Central train station we realised what we had done and rushed back to the tram stop just to find the rucksack had gone. We telephoned the Police, County Hall and the tram company but were advised nothing had been handed in and to go to the airport and ask for a travel document to be produced so we could fly home. At the airport we quickly found that EasyJet were not very helpful and just advised us to go to the Hague. Our hearts sank. Then....a phone call from the hotel. The Police had called them to say our rucksack had been handed in by a shop. Without hesitation, the hotel sent someone to get our rucksack from the Police station, bring it back to the hotel and put it in a taxi meet us at the airport. The taxi arrived, our flight was delayed by 1 hour and we managed to catch the same flight home that we were originally booked on. Unbelievable!! Without the hotel staff this would never have happened. They were absolutely outstanding in every way and we are in their debt.

This is a very special hotel with lovely people working there. I won’t try to name everyone here, but thank you all so much. I had a special time. Also, I recommend the hotel to anyone planning to stay in Amsterdam. It has excellent and spotlessly clean rooms in a centrally-located building of historic importance. It is the best hotel in Amsterdam.
