The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to major attractions in Florence, making it an excellent choice for honeymooners and romantic travelers. Despite not being the closest option to historical sites, the additional walking time was deemed worth it given the price difference with other properties. Awesome experience in Florence
Attentive staff and perfect service. From check in to city directions to dirty martinis to classical piano in the lounge- 5 star service and within 15 minutes walking distance to all the major attractions. The decor is not modern but that adds to the experience of staying at the villa medici

Sina Villa Medici is located within close walking distance from the main train station in Florence. It’s a quaint looking property that is accessible easily by foot even if you have a few bags with you. Florence center city with historical sites is generally not dispersed too widely. I’d say that Sina Villa Medici is on the outside perimeter - meaning, you can walk to all the sites (Uffizi Gallery etc), but there are perhaps relatively closer options available with other Marriott properties. For example, the Westin is closer to the main center of historical sites, but was considerably more expensive at the time we were booking for end of Dec. Westin also appeared more upmarket from the outside. Nevertheless, you can walk from Sina Villa Medici to the historical sites as these properties are perhaps a 5 min walk apart. And the additional 5 min walk didn’t justify the large price difference at the time of my booking. If you want a closer location to the sites, you may want to stay at the Westin. But Sina Villa Medici is just as capable to give you that access with a few additional minutes of walking time. The room we got was quite large relative to European standards, but the shower room in the bathroom was unusually small in size and barely wide enough to hold a person inside. That being said, the bathroom also had a tub that could be used for a shower and the bathroom was otherwise at par with the standards you’d expect from a Marriott property of this classification. Breakfast was great - notable exception is fresh orange juice, which is not available at the buffet (but perhaps can be ordered separately?). And this seems to be the case also in another Marriott property in Rome that we stayed at (Marriott Flora Rome, where fresh orange juice is not on the breakfast buffet, but can be ordered for an additional charge). Please note that the honey comb available was delicious with the options of bread and many other food options on offer including fresh fruits. The staff at this property is engaged and attentive and specifically the team at the concierge was very effective in answering questions, booking restaurants and ordering taxis. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stay in Florence - location not as central to historical sites vs. other Marriott property options (but that may not justify a price difference). Easy access from the train station and walkable distance to the historical center of the city from this property make it a very viable option for stays in Florence.

I wouldn’t consider this a 5 star hotel by any means. There isn’t actually a door man, and most of the other luxuries you would expect from a 5 star hotel are also not very obvious either. Be carful in considering if you want to stay in an old historic building. The funk of old stays with the royal suites in terms of smell, uncomfortable furniture and heavy room perfume in an attempt of the staff to hide the smells. All the combos can make you sick. The mattress is old, lumpy and so thin you won’t sleep well. Harry’s Bar is expensive and they aren’t very skilled in making cocktails.

Really enjoyable stay at a location/hotel set slightly outside the most popular tourist spots of Florence. Having never stayed in a Autograph hotel from the Marriott range, I was really looking forward to seeing the difference and was not disappointed. Great decor in & around the hotel, the bedroom was excellent, with a high standard finish including the bathroom and the little touches from the concierge & desk made the stay really pleasant. Most interesting is the garden/pool nestled at the back of the hotel which when enjoyed offers a rather unique experience, deep in a busy city. Highly recommended

One of our best hotel experiences ever
The staff at this hotel is absolutely the best. Everyone we came in contact was polite, friendly and extremely helpful. Giorgia made us feel like family. We hope someday we can return. Location to historic sites along with fine dining is AAA

I'd recommend not eating in the hotel restaurant the food is only ok, and there are better places to eat at in Florence.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. The service was very friendly and prompt. They also had a wheelchair that we could use for my husband, which was very helpful for us! The area around the pool was lovely and the breakfast is good, Overall however, this is an older hotel and the look was quite dated. Also, we found the location to be in a not so nice area. This may be a personal choice, but we would have preferred to be closer to the city. The area around the hotel just seemed like a not so nice part of town. For one night it suited us fine, but we would not stay again, mainly due to location and the outdated feel of the hotel.
