My wife and I were there recently to celebrate her birthday. I must say that this resort is a class above. The best i have visited in Mauritius till now. Highly recommended. Value for money.
We were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff and i would like to point out that they are very gentle and they made us feel at ease.
The hotel upgraded us freely and we were also offered a birthday cake and a bottle of wine along with some pastries.
We had a great stay at the hotel if not the best stay.
We would personally like to thank all the hotel staff for the excellent service especially Mr Vijesh from reception - very kind and helpful, Mr Jean Marc the hotel ambassador - a true gentleman, Mr Heeroo who take good care of us at Ile aux Mangenie along with his staff, Mr Richie the best Chef from TSK, the staff from Conciergerie especially mr Parwez . Also Mr Mohan from housekeeping, the gentleman who beautifully decorated our room.
We are sorry we forgot some names like the lady who welcomed us at the reception, the ladies at TSK, the other chefs and personnel at TSK - one has a tattoo in his arm - very kind man , the staff at Coco Beach House and the staff at ilot mangenie. Without forgetting the skipper who brought us on the snorkelling trip.
THANK YOU ALL.
We look forward to be back in a few months.

Shangri-La Le Tusserok in Mauritius is a beautiful and welcoming resort offering a variety of accommodation options. We stayed in a beachfront room in the Coral area, which was clean, fairly spacious, and pleasantly comfortable despite its somewhat outdated decor. The beaches during our stay, however, were a mixed experience. On the Coral side, the sea was too rough for comfortable swimming, while at the larger beach the water was shallow, making it difficult to enjoy a good swim. In the evenings, the rising tide virtually ruled out any chance for bathing.
The resort’s restaurants were generally decent, with attentive service and friendly staff. A standout was the Indian restaurant, which offered excellent quality and is definitely a must-try during your stay. However, the Mauritian-themed buffet evenings, complete with local dance performances, were very disappointing—poorly executed and not offering good value for money. Our advice is to avoid these nights. On a positive note, the morning breakfast buffet is very varied, delicious, and a definite highlight (thanks to Chantal for her wonderful assistance).
The true gem of this property is the opportunity to visit Deer Island (ile de cerfs in French) via a complimentary boat shuttle. There, you’ll find sun loungers, bar, restaurant, and massage zones set against a wild, stunning turquoise beach, making for an unforgettable day of relaxation (special mention to Jauhan).
Overall, a valid experience.

One of if not the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in worldwide, and the best I’ve stayed in on Mauritius (have previously stayed at Four Seasons, Anahita, Constance, Maradiva, Heratige).
Everything from the rooms, to the staff, to the views, to the food, to the beaches, to the pools, to the watersports, to the private island, to the spa, to the gym was essentially flawless. The restaurants and bars look spectacular after the renovation!
Special mention to Jean - Marc, Juahan (on the island) and Ponnen - all of whom consistently went above and beyond to ensure our stay was the best it could be!
If I was going to have a grumble about anything it would be that we’d have liked more starters / picky bits on offer at the buffet given the price they charge for it, but the quality of the food was really good nonetheless.
If you’re hesitating, don’t, just book it! We will definitely return.

I recently stayed in the Shangri-La Tousserok Mauritius and had an excellent experience.
Shangri-La Tousserok is a beautiful hotel on the East Coast. If you are looking for a peaceful and classy getaway this, is it. The rooms are beautiful. We travelled in May – weather was hit or miss with good sunshine but lots of rain and cloud coverage as well.
Service: The service and client relations are impeccable. The staff really take care of you and are excellently trained. They remember your names, preferences, needs, and wants. As you arrive you are well taken care of with welcome drinks and sweets while your room is quickly taken care of. Rooms are tended to incredibly twice a day to a high level of care and detail. A special note – they ensure to take care of you right until you leave their doors and they wave you off with a smile, even after bill is paid and you are wating in the exit lounge. Tip: I recommend their standard rooms more than their higher tier rooms. The standard are on a nicer stretch of beach so no need to pay extra. Beach staff are great and bring you fruit, ice cream while you relax.
GYM: The highlight of service on my trip was the gym (I’m a bodybuilder/boxer) – it is an excellent gym for a beach resort run by the incredibly talented KISHUN. Kishun can do pad work, keeps the gym running incredibly well, will give you travel recommendations outside the hotel, and has a solution for any training you want to do where equipment may be lacking. Hope he becomes a sports director soon! Shout out to Laurent as well!
FOOD: Le Bazar is excellent – the staff here are really dedicated and the food offered was really great. It is a smaller buffet than bigger hotels, but all the bases are covered, and the food actually tastes good unlike in larger buffets. The chefs really care about their art and are proud of what they produce: I had a lamb mehndi by AHMED ELGAMIL a chef working there that was the best I’d ever had – better than all the 5 stars I’d had in the gulf. Amazing service every night from another Mauritian chef as well whose name I never got but took extreme care and attention for my wife’s seafood allergy. I wouldn’t say the other restaurants were that good.
CON: The one thing that upset me about the hotel and almost made this a four-star review if it wasn’t for the gym and kitchen staff is the costing policy. Be wary that you will be charged £7 for water at the other restaurants and there are no non-cost drink options if you are on full or half board. I always feel this is a bad policy as you should just incorporate it into the price for full or half board. A coke or sprite with dinner should be allowed without a £5 charge if on meal plan. A lot of asterisks for supplementary costs on menu at other restaurants as well. I really did not like this. Full board should be full board.
Traveller tip: Note the beach is beautiful but Mauritius has a lot of coral – so you can’t just jump in there – plastic shoes may be a good buy. Also – don’t take taxis from the hotel, look online and you will save tons. Two taxi companies that were good (Ahmed - +23058447235) and (Sunil - +23052581029). Also – if from London – take a direct flight – transferring for hours between airports may ruin your trip!

My Wife and I have just returned from the best 10 day holiday of our lives. All made possible by the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed at, and by the exceptional levels of service and care and attention by every single member of staff.
In summary, the Shangri-la Le Touessrok isn't just the best luxury hotel in Mauritius, it could be one of the best luxury hotels in the world.
On our last day we genuinely thought hard on what could be improved - we couldn't come up with anything.
Location - what a location, from the entrance and the long drive approach to the hotel, to the views that greet you as you walk into the hotel for the first time. Breathtaking. There are numerous beaches that are all different, and offer different experiences. The private island. The stunning gardens. We literally stopped and took pictures on every walk that we took. The hotel is beautiful.
Check-In - Perfect experience. My Wife has allergies and the head Chef Luca came to personally meet us, understand what they were, and took care of everything thereafter. Wherever we were, the staff we aware of the allergies and no drama was made of it.
Room - Jo-Anne took care of us and as Golden Circle members we were put into a Frangipani Suite directly over the sea with stunning views. The room is stunning, extremely comfortable bed, quiet a/c, lovely L-Occitane toiletries, room cleaned twice a day, we asked once for ice to be delivered to our room at 4pm, they did this every day without fail, just perfect.
Restaurants - we used all of the restaurants and they were all perfect. Buffet breakfast is the best we have ever had. A wide array of food, eggs cooked however you like, perfectly, lovely fresh fruit and juices, salads, etc etc etc. Perfect. The Indian and the Japanese restaurants are great too. We had a wonderful Tepanyaki experience and used the Indian twice. We also attended a Mauritian pop-up buffet which was great with live dancing etc. The black truffle pizza on the private island is a must do - the best pizza we have ever had.
Staff - every single member of staff says hello to you with a warm genuine smile, whenever you pass them, without fail, and before you do. The staff at amazing, so warm, kind and caring, lovely people and almost all from Mauritius. We loved this about the hotel. They would all stop and speak with you, are all very proud to work for this hotel and of their beautiful island. They simply could not do enough for you.
Amenities - lots to do if you want. The private island is stunning, the water sports are great, brilliant Concierge desk who can organise anything you need etc etc etc. The Sega bar in the evening had some great bands that rotate - we really enjoyed that.
Special Mentions - the following staff deserve a special mention for all of their wonderful care and attention. Apologies to anyone we have missed - you were all perfect in every way ;-)
Jo-Anne - thank you so much for taking care of us throughout our stay. What a lovely lady.
Das - what a lovely gentleman, took the time to come and find us every single day to make sure we were happy and had everything that we needed.
Martina - took care of us in the breakfast restaurant. Expert service with a warm smile.
Fardeen - looked after us at the pool every day and helped to make our island visits special. Great advice on local restaurants etc.
Hellena - looked after is in the breakfast buffet restaurant.
Hero - Iswardeo - what a star and character, make our trips to the private island so special. A lovely gentleman.
Gregory Coquet, the GM - special thanks to yourself Gregory for running such a brilliant hotel and making everything so perfect. Look forward to meeting you when we come back next year which we are already in the process of booking.

We've just had a wonderfully relaxing time at Shangri-La Le Touessrok. We have stayed here many times before, which means that the hotel staff know all of our preferences and had our room and amenities all set for our arrival. This might be a weird thing to talk about, but we had the most magical room attendants - they were absolutely invisible, but whenever we returned to our room during the daytime of after dinner at night, our room had been returned to perfect cleanliness.... just what you need from 5* service, thank you!
The hotel is still going going through a renovation with major changes to the restaurants and public areas all completed. Subtle improvements have been made in the bedrooms which we loved - especially the new drapes and blackout curtains. We understand there are more changes happening all the time and we hope to be back later in 2025 and look forward to exciting new experiences and another great stay!
Staff are always so attentive and while there are many familiar faces attending to us, we truly appreciate all the hard work of the gardeners, laundry services and other hidden support teams.

My first return visit to this property in over 30 years. I was worried that the developments down the years would have taken away the special character of the property and turned into yet another anonymous international hotel - I needn’t have worried, the recent refurbishment has really hit the mark!
The hotel has a great location to go alongside the world class facilities. The beach, pools and grounds are all top drawer and in my opinion amongst the very best on the island.
The rooms have a restrained luxury feel with every amenity you could wish for to ensure a relaxing stay on the gorgeous island. Although we had the “lowest” grade rooms they fitted the bill perfectly, very comfortable and quiet (no noise from the amenity areas at all). The range of foods available across all the restaurants will meet anyone’s requirements (our lunches at Coco’s were a particular highlight, dinner & breakfast at TSK included just about every food type you could ever wish for).
If you fancy a quiet spell on the beach then a trip to Illot Mangenie is out of this world, you don’t get many hotels with their own private island paradise.
We found the staff added hugely to the quality feel of the hotel, their friendliness and hospitality were exemplary. A particular thank you to the concierge and front of house team (especially Dipak, Dastageer & Jean-Marc you were stars!).
