Be careful in booking this resort. If you're not paying extra to book at a higher tier, you're getting, essentially, summer camp food and lodgings. The buffets are barely edible and the a la cartes are quite good. Lovely grounds with animals and a cenote on site. Rooms have a summer camp feel and some rooms are dirty. We complained quite a bit and reception did respond to our complaints.

Outstanding resort. Jungle atmosphere. Food excellent. Entertainment excellent just a great week away. Lovely beach but there are a few rocks. Hotel has created a bay for snorkeling. Lots of sun beds. Staff were on top of everything. Lots of a la Carte restaurants and buffets. We found the food to be great for us. Massive choice. Some reviews will tell you that you have to use an app to book restaurants in the evening. We found that the 2 of us would just turn up and we always got a table. Always. No complaints. Evening entertainment was staggering good. I have no negatives about this resort. Spider monkeys and iguana everywhere. Make sure you take a swim in the cenote and the kids have a water park. Don’t miss the fire show on Saturday night and the white partyclub night on Thursday at the beach. Bring the kids.

Mariana was amazing! The boat ride was perfect for me and my girlfriend! We had nice drinks and some nice treats. The river was absolutely amazingly beautiful. We saw cute turtles and lots of fish! Would highly recommended to anyone staying at sandos!

It was a beautiful day to relax and enjoy nature. We enjoyed yummy treats and some champagne while we really enjoyed the lovely scenery. Lots of turtles, fish, and birds . Our captain Mariana was excellent! 💚 She pointed things out along the way! Would definitely recommend.

We were booked in the adult only area, but are wondering why they name it adult only. Loud kids were around moat of the time, with nobody telling them that is an area where they were forbidden access. Just to make this funnier the adult only restaurant wasn't for adults...

Booked as part of a package, we picked this resort for quieter, family feel, and on site activities. We had good service at check- in, but after that they direct you to their app which did not seem to work for us. They have several buffets that don’t require reservations...

Booked as part of a package, we picked this resort for quieter, family feel, and on site activities. We had good service at check- in, but after that they direct you to their app which did not seem to work for us. They have several buffets that don’t require reservations but specialty restaurants do and we couldn’t book because the app wouldn’t let us. We also could not get help with our bags at checkout and had to drag them up to the main building ourselves. It was also hard to exchange currency here when we needed to get smaller bills for tipping staff. They have entertainment each evening, and a lot of activities each day. One of the nice things is they have a cenote on site that you can drop in to explore. There are also some small Mayan ruins at one edge of the property, and lots of wildlife - coati, iguanas, agouti, cats, and bats. The beach was very windy in the evening while we were there, but that was a good thing because the one night it was calm there were lots of mosquitoes (and bats). We enjoyed our stay, but they could improve service.

The online menus for the restaurants and reservation system also doesn’t work. The Italian buffet is the same food as the regular buffet except it doesn’t have pizza or pasta like the main buffet. The service and management have been horrible. There are no spoons on the buffet for yogurt...

The service and management have been horrible. There are no spoons on the buffet for yogurt or cereal. The lights in the main lobby fell and the light in our room is falling from the ceiling. Housekeeping has gone through our belongings and no one at Sandos cares. The room also doesn’t have hot water, why did we get a jacuzzi suite? This has been the last 15 hours here.
