We stayed for 4 nights. Hotel and staff are friendly and welcoming and the central location is even better. You are right in the heart of everything and where you need to be all the restaurants, bars and shops are just a short walk. Rooms are very clean and modern but not oversized. Breakfast was a good continental style with lots of choices. The bakery next door is a must visit. Overall, we were blown away by the hotel and its staff were for the duration we were there. If I had to give one small criticism and this is just being very picky, the pillows on the bed are not supportive, but it’s more than made up for by everything else the hotel is.

Perfect Hotel for Reykjavik Visit
Front Desk service was impeccable - friendly and helpful. We arrived on a red-eye and were able to immediately check in around 8am. The room was large, comfortable, and well-equipped. Note that this is a boutique hotel in a classic building, not a new-construction chain-hotel box. Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh Icelandic specialities. Opt for the specialty coffees (for a small upcharge) if you want a quality morning brew. Finally, the location is absolutely ideal. Smack in the middle of the main street, an easy walk to tons of shopping and exquisite dining.

The location was perfect and the staff was very nice and helpful. The windows toward the street are very thin and you could hear everything outside, so maybe providing earplugs would be nice. I appreciated the adjustable thermostat since I don't like a hot room. Water in the lobby would be nice or bottles in the room.Showers were good, nice water pressure. Our room was pretty spacious, nice bedding, very comfortable. The USB ports by the beds are extremely slow. A good breakfast from 7-10 am.

We had a 3 night stay at this lovely boutique hotel. We booked through BA holidays. I would have given it 5 stars but we found it noisy in our Room 201, which let it down for us. The room itself was large with 2 windows. The bed was very comfortable as were pillows and duvets. There was the a large TV, safe, fridge. Robes and slippers. Lovely bathroom with excellent shower. Molton Brown toiletries. Underfloor heating. There was a nespresso machine which wasn’t working but the housekeeper changed it for us. The hotel is well decorated and stylish and housekeeping do a great job. Breakfast was served from 7 am and we enjoyed the good selection of items on the buffet. Freshly made smoothies which were delicious. The coffee was filter coffee in a carafe but you can pay extra for lattes cappuccino etc. I found the staff generally pleasant and polite. The reception staff less so… We did have an issue with noise. Our room was directly above a bakery and they carried out some building work the first night and there was drilling and hammers going when we were hoping for an early night. Being at the front over the street we did find pretty noisy throughout the night and consequently I wouldn’t return to this hotel.

The rooms are quiet, great mattress, amazing rainfall shower; the little touches that make this a top-level hotel. We has room 229-it was in the back with lots of window overlooking a little courtyard. The room felt like having a private house in the middle of the city.

The hotel was in a great location. Walkable to all of downtown. Lots of shops and restaurants on the street. Hotel staff was very friendly. Room 501 had partial views of the mountains which was nice. The only negative for us was that the bed was very soft and the pillows were very soft/flat. Had to get 3 of them to try and make 1 pillow.
