This was our 2nd time staying here, first in 5/15. They had done some modern renovations on the lodge & dining room area. We stayed here for 4 nights & our room was No. 3 & was very spacious, clean, quiet & comfortable. All 3 meals & drinks are included with G & T & even cocktails. You must try Pina Colada, it was the best & made by Ooma! Our game drive guide was Sampson who was very knowledgeable & friendly. The highlights for us included a leopard on a tree, lions with a buffalo kill, hyenas with cubs & 10 painted dogs pursuing impala. We saw the Big 4 except the Rhino. One day we had an elephant walk past outside our tent to the other side of the park. It was amazing! The sunrises & sunsets everyday were spectacular with multiple colours. Free Wifi in the room with good reception. Free laundry service everyday. All meals were delicious & well presented. 5 stars personal treatment from all staff & they all are super friendly & attentive.

We traveled to Stanley’s Camp in June which is winter in Botswana. This means hot days and cold nights. We had come from another camp which did not provide climate control. Stanley’s on the other hand did an excellent job as they offer Dyson heaters/ac in every room. They even pull curtains down to assist with warmth at night. Stanleys offers intimate dinner settings with menu service. The food was SUPERB. I had the best steak I’ve ever had in my life! Stanley’s overlooks a large flat plain area which has an abundance of animals such as elephants, monkeys, baboons, wildebeest, etc. The amount of animals you will see is innumerable. Our stay at Stanley’s figuratively saved our vacation as it was so much better than our other camp. THE BEST!!!

Our tour company Abercrombie and Kent choose this camp as part of our safari. One of the best parts of the camp is the Staff who are always kind and caring. Every detail was taken care of including laundry (pressed shirts/pants)and special dietary requests served with careful attention to detail and taste. On our final night the staff set up a beautiful sundowner next to a large hippo pool. We shared the sundowner with 20 hippos and a couple from Germany who had stayed at this camp five years running (and recommends staying here in the future). The weather felt warm especially without air conditioning but the decks had good cross-breezes. Lions were present every night including a large male wandering into camp at sundown. Staff was concerned and diligent about our safety walking us to and fro from our tent. I loved waking up to the light streaming through the white linen curtains and mosquito netting. Very peaceful and beautiful!

This was the first of our three stays in Sanctuary Retreat Camps (each for three nights). Our accommodation was excellent and large, with their signature ‘tented large King beds’. Excellent hanging and storage spaces and double sinks in the bathroom. “Shoutout” to all Sanctuary Retreats for their gorgeous toiletries … cruelty free … “Healthy Earth”. There was a large deck overlooking a green open area where wildlife would wander through. We were a short walk from the main area, and, as the camp was not fenced, it was necessary to be escorted to/from our room/main area after sunset. The general area consisted of a great library (best place for Wi-Fi), with an excellent display of photos of Sir Henry Morton Stanley GCB with plenty of sofas, chairs, etc., a bar and dining area. There was a short boardwalk to the swimming pool which was another great place for wildlife spotting. Food (too much 😉 as in all Lodges!), wine choices, etc. were all extremely good. We also enjoyed five Safari Jeep tours with Zero during our three days and all were excellent with so much wildlife. Zero was an excellent guide/driver who found plenty of lions, elephants, giraffes, etc., etc. A great stay and a wonderful introduction to the Sanctuary Retreat Lodges and many thanks to Basadi and her team.

Unforgettable experience of the Delta . Unfortunately the waters hadn’t reached Stanley camp whilst we were there.

Stanley Camp, what is the third of our Sanctuary properties and uniquely different from Sussi & Chuma and Chobe Chilwero. Our guide. On arrival we were greeted by the Stanley Choir led by Basida, the property manager who loves to sing. The well appointed accommodation was perfect with beautiful views across the plain where we saw elephants, zebra, warthogs, grazing, or just traversing to their next destination. Our guide for our stay, Fred, was fantastic and took us on fabulous journeys each day, and we were not disappointed in anyway as we saw leopards lions painted dogs crocodiles, hippos elephants buffalo and the list goes on. The meals were brilliant and we could not fault the service as the staff were so attentive and friendly. We just love the place and we hope you do.

Stanley's was our first stop on our journey theough the Okavango delta and it couldn't have been a better start. The camp is beautifully situated at the southeen end of the delta, the tents surrounding a lagoon like pond. Staff was super friendly, food was excellent, both for lunch and dinner. The 3-course dinner always offered nice surprises - you felt like dining in a dine dining restaurant, just surrounded by wildlife. Our guide, Fred, was superb - knowing all the spots to visit, great humor and a perfect host for our sundowners. Excellent place, will definitely come back

Words cannot describe how wonderful our stay at Stanley’s camp was. We came in April 2022 for 4 days. The place itself is simple, but beautiful - I happen to really like rustic luxury and that is what Stanley’s camp is. The best thing about Stanley’s is the people and service. We live in Abu Dhabi/Dubai and are therefore privy to some very swanky hotels and great service - The service at Stanley’s is just as good if not better than many of these establishments. Every single person was so warm and welcoming, friendly, yet professional. They made us feel so special! The food was also very good and every day we had delicious meals and fresh baked breads. All day they brought us delicious food, wines, cocktails and snacks! We easily gained ten pounds but it was worth it. We just loved all of the bartenders and servers! Our safari guide was Temo. Wow!!! Temo was an excellent safari guide. His knowledge of the flora and fauna of his homeland is really something to be admired. He is a real man of the wilderness and he used his amazing skills to track and find leopards, lions, hyenas, small cats, buffalos, elephants, and many birds for us. We didn’t come at the time of the mokoro, but we really didn’t feel like we missed out because Temo really went above and beyond to show us his beautiful country. We really cannot sing his praises high enough. He was just the absolute best and he showed us and taught us so much. In sum - Stanley’s was fantastic and we are so blessed to have been able to stay there. Thank you Stanley’s Camp and thank you Temo!
