This place is heaven. I can't even understand anyone who would give this less than 5 stars. It's absolutely gorgeous and serene; the service is impeccable, the staff is warm, friendly, and serves your every need; the food is excellent. There are animals right outside the camp. I loved waking up to the baboons in the morning. It was so special. But I have to give a special shout out to our guide Norriah. What an amazing human being! He knew everything about everything. Having an expert guide is what makes the difference at safari camps like these. I didn't feel like he learned anything from a book. He was so superb that it almost seemed like he knew everything just naturally--a mark of a true guide. Not only was the camp pure heaven, we felt like we struck gold with him. We had a hard time even saying goodbye to him and to the camp. Don't hesitate--book with Chief's Camp! This was supposed to be our once-in-a-lifetime trip, but we already plan to return.

This was the second of our three stays in Sanctuary Retreat Camps (each for three nights) and this time we were in a Luxury Pavilion with a private plunge pool; we had a dip every afternoon and it was ‘refreshing’ and wonderful. Our accommodation was excellent with a/c and fans, a deep bath overlooking the pool and huge deck area with sun loungers and seating/table area. We also had both indoor and outdoor showers. Fabulous. “Shoutout” to all Sanctuary Retreats for their gorgeous toiletries … cruelty free … “Healthy Earth”. We were a short walk (no. 6 Meno) from the general area, which was very tasteful and with plenty of seating options. There was also a general pool which we didn’t use as we had our own one, but our private dinner was served by it one night which was very special. The lovely dining area overlooking their traditional Braai area and it was perfect for sundowners 🍸🍸. We also enjoyed four Safari Jeep tours with Sky during our three days and all were excellent with so much wildlife. Sky was a fabulous guide/driver with amazing eyesight! who found plenty of lions, elephants, giraffes, etc., etc. We also had excellent massages with Keeme, highly recommended to take some time out from the ‘bouncing jeeps’ and relax. Thanks to Lops and his great team for all their attention, friendliness, and service. A truly fabulous stay and, in our hearts, top of the list for our three stays.

Wow! What a place! The accommodation is luxurious. We would be woken by baboons on the roof, squabbling. The staff are all 'customer driven'. It is all about us, the customer. The location is out of this world. We couldn't get to our room one afternoon because there was an elephant blocking the entrance and eating the bark from a tree! The food is top quality and plentiful and 'fully inclusive' means just that. We stayed for a few days previously at the sister camp 'Sanctuary Bains' about 50 KM from Chief's and this too was amazing. Our guides at both camps, Max and Chief were both great. Very knowledgeable and would again put the customer first " What animals would you like to see today?". You are able to get so close to the animals and we saw lots of great things going on in the wild. Had a remarkable holiday and would thoroughly recommend this.

Great location with amazing wildlife which our Guide Kanosi was passionate about and did a great job in finding animals especially when the grasses were so high in some areas. Vee gives the best massages and facials EVER - do book her for a treatement during siesta time.Highly recommended! Food is good but Afternoon tea is just fruit and drinks - we didn’t need any more and welcomed the change from cakes in other lodges but I’m sure if we needed more food they would have provided it. The rest of the food was great and the last night they did a traditional boma with entertainment while has great. Basabi and the team are all super friendly, efficient and fun.

This camp presents itself as high and but the outcome is mostly mid range. Despite this the camp location and guides are amazing and this makes up for the relatively average standard of the place. They try hard on the food but it isn’t very good. The actual finish of the rooms is ok but it’s not luxurious. We had some of the best game drives I’ve had in Africa though so I’d say it was well worth the visit.

Chiefs Camp is the best of the best. Accommodation: amazing large guests rooms with massive bathrooms, outdoor shower and incredible balconies which go right onto the game reserve. Amazing aircon and turn down service. Staff: the most wonderful, helpful staff we have ever met. Nothing was too much and also gave privacy when needed. Cocktails were on point by Percy who is a professional mixologist. Game drives: personal game drives most of the time given resort was half capacity and our guide (Tim) was the most knowledgeable guide in all of Africa. Stop researching other places this instance and book chiefs camp. You will not be disappointed and will leave with the best memories of your life!!
