Cannot recommend this place enough. Stayed here on my honeymoon and was amazed by the unique design of the lodge, the quality and friendliness of all the staff (chef, lodge managers, waiters, cleaning staff). My ranger was Doc and tracker was Trevor, we wi always remember them. Doc is so knowledgeable about any bird, mammal, or tree you may encounter. We had so many amazing game drives over our 4 days. I looked forward to each one. We saw lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, giraffe, rhino, and many more. We saw all of them multiple times and we even went off-roading to track some leopards and lions down at times which was so much fun. The morning coffee and afternoon happy hours were a great touch. Food quality at every meal was on par with high end restaurants. Chef Mercy also cooked up some chicken broth and rice for my wife when she needed some more plain food. Dinner rotates locations each evening and you get to experience many lovely set ups. You can request anything and they’ll do their best to accommodate. The rooms themselves are spacious and great for relaxing between or after game drives. Pictures don’t do them justice. Marco and Alta, the lodge managers, are very eager to cater to your every need and are very responsive. We did not know if this would be our thing, but my wife and I cannot wait to come back in their winter time in the future.

Hello you wonderful people! We just stayed 4 nights at the Earth Lodge. What should you write about so many perfect things? Simply that it was just one of the best experiences we have ever had. Starting from the perfect service in all areas, the insanely good food to the suites that are really unmatched! The elephants, monkeys and impalas at our own pool ..... The wildlife we saw on the safaris with Vivian and Benny was just crazy for me as an ambitious hobby photographer!! The two were super class! Thanks again! We had to move on again after 4 days with a heavy heart...... thank you again to everyone involved and employees. Mitch and Sandy

I can’t say enough good things about Earth Lodge. It really was perfection. The service was phenomenal and the staff go above and beyond to help. Special shout out to Nikita. The food is absolutely delicious and so much of it! The lodge itself and the rooms are just beautiful. We woke up one morning to elephants at our window. Unbelievable! But above all else, the safari drives are out of this world! We were lucky enough to have Ruan as our ranger. His knowledge of the animals, the savannah, the plants, trees and everything in between is phenomenal, and he made the trip. We really didn’t want to leave this trip of a lifetime. Thank you!

The experience we had at Earth Lodge was second to none. The best we have ever had. The quality of the room, the lodge, the service, the food, and above all the safari experience was like no other. There were no flaws to be found, and nothing was a problem for any of the staff. They were all top quality and exemplary. We would recommend this place to everyone, and already have. Five stars.

My husband and I got married during COVID and had our daughter after that, so this honeymoon was three years in the making! Earth Lodge treated us as though we had been married just days before arriving. Our room was decorated with romantic rose petals, chocolates, and a bottle of champagne to celebrate! The spacious suite was absolutely incredible with its own plunge pool, a very comfortable bed, and a room spray so lovely we bought some in the store on our last day! The food was a highlight, however we fell in love with some meals and hyperfixated on them for a few days because they were TOO good, so not too much variation but 10/10! One night, we were given a romantic private dinner under the stars with endless courses, unforgettable (but glad we did this before I learned of the hippos that live just steps away haha)! Z gets a special shout-out from us. I have carried his concept of saying "you deserve it" when someone says "thank you", what a positive and lovely energy he has. I cried leaving him! And last but not least, the amazing game drives. We had Ruan and Donald for our drives and we felt that we were best friends by the end of the trip. Their knowledge and experience was incredibly impressive. We got to see all the big five (minus cheetas.. they're so rare!) including TWO very up close and personal viewings of male, female, and cub lions! On our way to the airport, as if they set this up just for us, an elephant walked right behind us to bid us adieu (see photo). I will never for the rest of my life forget this trip, and a big part of that is because Earth Lodge made sure we were treated like royalty. We can't wait to make it back one day!

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Earth Lodge in October 2024. At first, we were not too keen on booking this place when our travel agent recommended it. Something about the pictures, it didn't feel like our typical safari lodges. We usually like more traditional lodges, tented camps. How wrong we were.... This lodge is out of this world! It is absolutely stunning, the rooms are incredibly luxurious and comfortable. The style of the hotel makes you feel like you are one with the nature; animals coming up close to drink water. The atmosphere of this place is so special, so zen, so calming... The staff throughout the hotel is just wonderful, so warm and welcoming. Special thanks to Innocent, Goodness and Amu. The food is really excellent! I had a very good 90-minute massage at their spa. And finally, the superb quality of the safari drives, thanks to our guide Jamiel and tracker Louis. Jamiel is an amazing guide, very knowledgeable, we had such interesting conversations with him, we learnt a lot about safari, life in the bush and South Africa in general. For our drives, we were lucky to be paired with a very lovely couple from South Africa. This all made for an unforgettable stay! We stayed at Earth Lodge at the beginning of our trip to South Africa to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It was one of the most memorable experiences and set a high bar for the rest of our 2 weeks of travel. Everything about Earth Lodge was perfect. We spent 3 days there, which was the perfect amount of time. The team are exceptional. Each person, no matter their role, are warm, friendly, approachable, and make a point to get to know you. The game drives into the Bush were incredible. Doc and Patrick were a stellar guide and tracker team. During our first game drive we saw most of the big 5, including a male lion that Patrick spotted far away in the dark and then Doc got us up closer to it. We didn’t know if it could get any better but it did. The food is over the top. Every meal was delicious and I can’t get over how many options there were and how good every single thing was. The lodge is beautiful as it blends in with the landscape so you really feel part of the reserve yet you have every amenity you could ask for. Our room was incredible - spacious and comfortable with unparalleled views into the Bush. One afternoon I sat on our patio reading my book while watching hippos, buffalo and an elephant graze around in the land outside our room! This was our first safari and we would absolutely go back!

Our safari was nothing short of magical, and we owe it all to our incredible guide Warren and tracker Trevor not to mention the most hospitable staff we have ever encountered. We felt like we were on a combination of Fantasy Island and White Lotus. From the moment we set off, it was clear we were in the hands of true professionals who not only knew the wildlife inside and out but also had a deep love and respect for the environment. Our guide’s knowledge was vast, and they had an amazing way of turning every encounter with an animal into a captivating story. Whether it was a herd of elephants, a lazy lion, or a rare bird, we learned so much about their habits, habitats, and behaviors. They were also fantastic at answering all our questions, keeping the experience fun and educational at the same time. The tracker was equally impressive, with an almost supernatural ability to read the land. Every rustle of leaves or distant sound seemed to guide them to another incredible sighting. Thanks to their skills, we saw the Big Five and even some of the more elusive animals like leopards and rhinos. The way the guide and tracker worked together felt like a perfect partnership, leading to some of the most unforgettable moments. The lodge itself was incredible as well. We literally felt like we were part of the earth with every possible luxury. The food was incredible and every day they set dinner up in a different location that was gorgeous.If you're planning a safari, this guide and tracker duo will make your trip absolutely unforgettable. Our safari experience was beyond exceptional, thanks to the unmatched expertise of our dynamic duo guide and tracker, Warren and Trevor! From the moment we set out, it was clear that both were deeply knowledgeable about the wildlife, the terrain, and the local ecosystem. Our guide, Warren, had endless knowledge about the wildlife and fascinating insights about their behaviors, habits, and the environment they live in. Every question we asked was met with a wealth of information, but always in a captivating manner that kept us engaged. He was also hilarious and warm. Trevor was equally impressive with his incredible ability to spot the smallest of animals even from a distance at night. From finding elusive predators to spotting rare species deep in the bush, his skills were nothing short of extraordinary. And he was equally lovely! We saw the Big Five up close, along with so many other animals we hadn’t even anticipated! Their passion for conservation and respect for wildlife truly made every drive memorable. They ensured we felt safe throughout the journey and created moments we’ll never forget, like watching a mother leopard go searching for her babies after a kill or a pride of lions’ snack on a pillow that they stole from our lodge! Their teamwork and attention to detail made the whole experience seamless and unforgettable. Beyond the magic of our safari drives, what truly set this experience apart was the lodge staff. Every team member went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Goodness, Amu, Z, and Patrica (Patty) in particular, deserve special mention. They made us feel special and we left feeling like we would truly miss them. If you're looking for a safari that combines adventure, education, and unforgettable moments, this is the lodge and team to go with! Highly recommended!

If you are considering going to Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge -- do not hesitate! Book that trip. I have traveled to many places around the world and nowhere is as special as Earth Lodge. The game drives are incredible -- we saw the Big 5, warthogs, 1 month old lion cubs, baboons, giraffes, etc. The animal encounters were beyond my wildest (no pun intended) dreams. If you're lucky, you'll have Werner and Sydney as your ranger/tracker. They are incredibly knowledgeable and fun to hang around with as well. The accommodations, the food, the entire staff -- everything is just, in a word, magical. I was so sad to leave that I cried on my last day there. I've definitely never done that before. Go to Earth Lodge. You will not be disappointed in the least.
