Royalton Splash Punta Cana

I have been away a few times to DR but this was my first trip to Cancun. Sarah our butler was amazing! She lifted all of our stress for areas such as dinner reservations, airport departure information, late check out etc she genuinely cared about the people she was helping....

I have been away a few times to DR but this was my first trip to Cancun. Sarah our butler was amazing! She lifted all of our stress for areas such as dinner reservations, airport departure information, late check out etc she genuinely cared about the people she was helping. The food was great, the gym was the best I have ever been to at a resort, and the spa was world class. Reading some other negative reviews from travelers who were there at the same time as myself make me wonder if they were in a "parallel universe" as I did not experience any of the negative experiences they did. I do believe some people are never happy. Thanks for a great experience it was my first trip to the Royalton but it will not be my last.

We opted to go to this resort, Royalton, because of great things we heard, and also being under the umbrella of the Marriott Bonvoy. Well, this was DEFINITELY NOT the case. We wasted quite a bit of our vacation time, going to Guest Services, multiple times to complain about booking reservations for the a la cart restaurants on their Royalton app, that we were told they changed to using the app about 8 months ago, instead of speaking with a person to book the reservations, and the resorts' staff were getting complaints about as well, and their website stated "hassle-free dining", ya right. There were staff walking around the resort, holding menus, and we would get stopped, and asked if we would like to reserve for dinner - well, you'd have to buy a bottle of wine from them, and they would make a reservation, no problem. Ummm, we thought we were at an all inclusive resort????? Thank goodness, after a few days we were there, I found out that each building has a concierge, and I finally met a concierge who was kind enough, that even on her day off, she offered to book a restaurant for us - she was AMAZING, and that is why I gave a 3 star rating. Another concierge talked us into going for a free 90 minute breakfast, which was to try to sell us to buy into their, call it membership. The gentleman, at first was very kind, friendly, and seemed to be very interested in us, until it came down to $$$, and us, who are now pensioners, telling him straight out that we couldn't make a decision, because he wanted us to sign, and put down a deposit, right then and there!!! He even had the gull to say, "well you did come here on vacation, and how much did it cost you?". It is none of his business how much it cost us, and how we were able to pay for it!!! He didn't even say goodbye to us. Well, on a positive note, we got a great meal at Hunter Steakhouse, otherwise, unless you were in the Diamond Club, or a member, you would have to pay to have dinner there. We have been to plenty of other resorts in the Caribbean, most of the time for 2 weeks, sometimes, 3 weeks, but never have we wanted to come home, as we did on this vacation. We will NEVER stay at a Royalton Resort again.

Flight delayed ,arrived at hotel 130 am got our to our room at 5 am. I booked 6 months in advance in order to get the ground floor and we were put on the third floor. We were told there were elevators, there are no elevators! Very disappointing changed rooms...

We were told there were elevators, there are no elevators! Very disappointing changed rooms next day we were told to come back at 3 pm to get our new room and they would bring our luggage . We went there to our new room and no luggage , no one knew where they were! We went to the lobby and no one new where are luggage was it’s now way pasted 6 pm. I went to see where people were boarding the bus to go to the airport and there was my luggage ready for the bus with checked out tags. I was totally upset at this point. The buffet is just ok nothing great , they would put out food and then if you asked for anything they would tell you there’s no more. We would go to eat at around 730 pm . This is truly a family resort so many children , keos everywhere. The beach is way to far to walk at least 20 minutes, they only have two trolley and most of the time is full unless you walk to the lobby to get the trolly. My room was full of tiny flies in the bathroom sink and then tiny black worms the next day. The shower didn’t drain so it always had standing water. The A/C you couldn’t shut off always running so the room was always cold. You had to ask to have your refrigerator replenished. When you went to the beach there aren’t any chair available no matter what time you go. You can get as many towels as you like so people put them both at the pool and the beach. I sat at the beach spa steps where I could get some shade and was told off by a women getting a massage that I should not be staying there. The only good thing there was the ladies at the spa who were very friendly and very kind and they offered me a chair. I’m not a spring chicken that could just sit on the beach. We were there for two weeks , I’m sorry to say we will not go back there again. Both my husband have been going to the DR for the passed 25 years every February and we did encounter some not so good resorts and some very good resorts. One more thing they only have hamburgers,hot dogs and sometimes fries . That staff person is worked very hard and couldn’t keep up . The bar next to where the hotdog stand is will only serve you if you have money in your hand or you wait a long time . There’s no place to sit even though there’s a huge closed Italian restaurant right there on the beach .

Very nice resort, we stayed at the Royalton Punta Cana not the splash resort which was right on the beach. Very clean and friendly staff, the buffet was good but the two restarts we ate at were a little disappointing, food was cold and tasteless.

Had a great time at Royalton Splash! Loved having access to Royalton Punta Cana. Beach was beautiful, food was good! We played lots of tennis with Miguel. He gave us private lessons and it was a great experience! 10/10 would go here again!!!!

We wanted to switch it up for a couple days and try our hand at tennis. A gentleman named Miguel offered to give us lessons while we were there! We loved it so much we went for lessons 3 days in a row!

We spent Two weeks at this resort and it was really good. The hotel itself is really nice and very clean and can tell it’s maintained well and looked after. The variety of pools was great meaning there is a pool for everyone and the waterpark was good for both...

The variety of pools was great meaning there is a pool for everyone and the waterpark was good for both younger and older guests. The buffet had good choice most days and the food was good quality for the most part. We didn’t go to many of the other restaurants as some days we were on trips and we struggled to book them with the demand. The other restaurants were okay but could maybe do with extending the menus a little bit. Overall we had a great holiday and would recommend for family’s or just couples. On a final note I want to give a massive shoutout to Elby, Ernesto, Estafane and Willy on the splash pool swim up bar as they were excellent throughout our holiday. They were friendly and welcoming from the off and always made an effort with us as well as making the best cocktails. They really did give top quality service and were the best staff we came across.

While the buffet offered excellent food, the limited availability of other restaurants did not meet expectations.
