We decided to treat ourselves to a nice holiday in the Caribbean, so we did a 10 day holiday to the Royalton Punta Cana (Dominican Republic). We decided to go "Diamond Club" this includes a butler service, private beach area, private bar etc. So glad we did. We had a butler called "Osuna" he came to visit us when we arrived and swapped WhatsApp addresses as this was our way of getting in touch with each other. He also found us once or twice a day by the pool or bar/ restaurant to check we were OK and if there were any problems. We probably didn't use him to the full extent. There are lots of restaurants between our resort and the splash park, which is a short walk from our resort, these have to be booked in advance (we heard some people had trouble booking as they filled up fast) we just said to Osuna can you book us a different restaurant each evening about 7pm. We got a whatsapp message where we would be eating and what time. The Hotels buffet restaurant where we had breakfast and lunch most days had a great choice of food all the time. Some people complained on reviews that the food was repetitive, but being there for 10 days didn't find this the case. The Staff at the resort were really friendly, from cleaners, gardeners, restaurant and entertainment staff, the only one miserable one was one of the excursion "lady" she came up to us on the first day all friendly and chatty but because we didn't book a excursion with her, she literally ignored us for the rest of the holiday. I also saw her on numerous occasions being rude and ignoring other holiday makers. I would like to say a special thanks to the fit team who organised the pool volleyball and the pool workouts. There was one person who really stood out, a pool waiter/barman called "Joel", who worked so hard to keep everyone by the pool "watered" he was so attentitive to us in particular, at one point we were on the pool and when we got out there were Pina Coladas waiting by our sun loungers. Thank you Royalton for taking our trip so memorable. We sent lots of pictures to our family who have now put it on their places to visit list

Great place to spend a vacation or week getaway. The beach was amazing and the food was delicious. Our butler Johnny was amazing. I would recommend staying here. The trip from airport was easy and safe. Would definitely come back to this resort

Very good Hotel, nice Food, drinks, good Room, nice Service, Beach and Pool. Towelservice is good. Stephanie is always there to help you and is very handsome The Rooms are big and clean The Food is awesome Good Partys and Sport Only the Shops are very expensive

Property is beautiful. That’s it. The entire resort is poorly run. Ran out of towels daily. Ran out of plates during lunch. Not enough open restaurants- all hours and days open are inconsistent. Noticed several bugs and a rat in the buffet restaurant. The app is horrible. Process of “requiring reservations” is broken- 6pm they open up but are already full for the next day for a party of only two. How is that possible? Reservations mean nothing, restaurants are constantly sat at only 50% capacity, with a small party you can walk in anywhere. Finally, the bracelet room keys are horrible. We had to have both room key bracelets reset three times during a 4-day stay. HORRIBLE service and management. Also, there was a rat running around in the buffet dining hall which no worker did anything about. We will never return. Royalton brand should audit this location, vastly different experience at the Cancun locations.

My wife and I just went to this resort for a few days to take in the sun. The resort wasn't that great. To start, it took over one hour and a half to check in. Mind you, this was with the diamond club. It was horrible. I selected the diamond club, thinking it was easier for everything. How wrong was I. Then, when we finally got the room, it wasn't ready. This Meaning, the refrigerator was not complete with everything we were supposed to get. Missing water bottles, soda, beers, etc. A few days before prior to arriving at the resort. I called them to let them know I was celebrating a special occasion. There was nothing in the room illustrating that. With the diamond club, we were supposed to receive a top shelf liquor bottle. We did not receive that bottle until our 3rd day, and we were only there for 4 days. The good thing about this place are the employees of the bars, restaurants, beach and pool area. They do treat everyone well. The food was good and the drinks were also good. The beach was amazing. I will not be returning to this resort. If I would've known. I would have selected a regular room not the diamond club.

We LOVED it at the Royalton Punta Cana. Our butler JOHNNY was amazing and super helpful and would communicate with us daily. Would totally recommend this place to anyone. The weather and resort was beautiful. Thank you to the great staff and this overall amazing experience!!

Pros - Weather Clean rooms/cleanliness/maids Cons - The Buffet- I had food poisoning from eating there the first day. Haven’t eaten in there since. After 3 days of not eating, my first meal was at Soccer bar - ordered a burger- lettuce had a fly on it. The potato tots were NOT COOKED. You cannot book any a la carte restaurants so don’t be fooled by the 5 restaurants available. You can’t get into any, unless you pay extra for bottle of wine/ or £75 extras e.g for the tomahawk etc which I paid for because I couldn’t bare facing the buffet after the food poisoning and the POOR food in the soccer bar. Sides were Luke warm- the mac and cheese was boiled pasta and powder American cheese. Hotel reception are not very approachable, they don’t really want to help. They have some nice bar staff around the pool and the coffee/ice cream shop is the best part of this hotel. Nothing 5* about this place apart from the aesthetics and that’s at a push.
