Royalton We returned from an excellent vacation at Royalton. To begin with, the resort is beautiful, with its architecture, its continuously maintained green areas, and the wonderful views of the turquoise sea before your eyes! On the other hand, the room is very large, well-decorated, and detailed. While it shows signs of wear, it's nothing serious and is still wonderful. The staff is loving, helpful, and polite, always attentive and smiling. The food is very good and full of options for everyone. During our time there, we toured the other resorts, and the Royalton stands out above the rest, simply because of the lounge chairs, cabanas, and beach. Nothing bad to say, I would definitely return. Don't expect anything 5-star; I'd say a 4-star is more than fine! Go easy, relax, and enjoy!

If we could we’d give it a 4.5 out of 5! It was an absolutely brilliant stay! We were quite apprehensive given some of the negative reviews on here but our honest opinion is that it’s a great place to stay when you come to Negril, Jamaica, we’d highly recommend it! Our only reason for knocking it down to 4/4.5 is due to the al la carte restaurants, we got them booked okay although we usually had to do it 2am in the morning and 1 restaurant a day which was fine for us, we didn’t really mind. But the restaurants themselves when you got there, even though you were booked in at 8pm you waited for about 20-30 mins in the que to be seated. And the food was just okayish! Now onto the good stuff! It’s a long one! Staff - Absolutely brilliant, couldn’t be more friendly or helpful! We had the warmest happiest welcome on our arrival! Special shout out to the bell hops and pool staff! Our excursions we booked through Viator were both late and the bell hops helped us ring the tour operators to help us get sorted! The staff around the pool looked after us so much we were so grateful! Food - You have a 24 hour cafe/ice cream place that does cakes, sandwiches and fruit too! They also do a wide range of drinks to all sorts of coffees to milk shakes and hot chocolate! We got coffee & tea every morning (which you can help yourself to and don’t have to queue for) to go watch the sunrise. Sports bar was brilliant for watching all kind of sports from Rugby, football and Cricket (including women’s cricket)! The buffet restaurant was actually our favourite, there was always something to choose from, they even had a pizza oven to make fresh pizza! Our favourite a la carte was the Zen (Tepanaki is the one where they cook at the grill in front of you) Bars - there was plenty choice of bars from the pool, near the beach, in the lobby, sports bar and then the night time bar - martini bar which was cool! They ran out of ingredients sometimes but again we didn’t mind because there was plenty of choice and alternatives! Cleanliness - Honestly we were so impressed with how often the toilets and facilities were clean, there was never a time I visited the toilets in any area and they weren’t clean. They were continuously doing up anything in the hotel that needed it, be it the garden, painting ect. Beach - there was a little private beach near the beach bar and a big beach just a little walk away from the pool! They were absolutely stunning! You could also get to 7 mile beach but you probably need to get a taxi there as it’s not really walkable (especially in the heat). Activities - there were plenty of activities throughout the day, mainly by the main pool area! From quizzes to water polo (we loved this) and even bracelet making! The night entertainment was also really good! Our favourite date was the reggae tribute as you had a nice little Buffett outside while you watches the different acts play! Room - Awesome!! We had a swim up room in building 4! It was amazing’ we had a view of mainly the kids pool (which meant it was quiet in the evening) away from the main stage and night activities so we always had peace and quiet! We had a lovely shower room (our water flow was absolutely fine) and there was a bath too in the room which we used once! The beds were super comfy and big so we slept well every night! There’s also a sofa to chill on and sunbeds outside in front of the swim up pool! The room size was good! Hotel tips 1. If you’re buying coffee to take home, buy it from the cafe! The shop outside the buffet restaurant is quite expensive 2. If you want a good sunbed, put your towels down around 5am in the morning 3. Download the app before you go just to check out what’s on and try book the hotel restaurants (you can only book 2 days in advance and one restaurant at a time) 4. Book the a la cartes in the early hours of the morning (you can only book via the app) 5. If you want quiet time away from the pool but still want a few, chill in the lobby, there’s plenty of chairs and sofas! 6. Take ear plugs with you, at night time you can hear the bats l, but ear plugs will block out the noise so you can have a peaceful sleep 7. They only had a coffee machine in our room so if you like tea in the room maybe bring a portable kettle but they offered tea in the cafe which was fine for us so it wasn’t really a bother Jamaica tips 1. Go 7 mile beach and see the sunset! 2. If you can, get a private transfer to the hotel! It was much faster, efficient and our check in was too! We used “next level tours” and they were amazing! 3. Do the YS falls excursion! That was awesome!

We went back to Negril to celebrate our 25 years anniversary, our travel agent suggested Royalton. Our first impressions of the place were: it was beautiful/peaceful, because so many of us were checking in at the same time they increased the check-in represtatives quickly. Although, the check-in was quick we were given a room with two beds not a king size, a partial ocean view over looking the kiddies pool not per our request and we paid extra for ocean view. We informed the rep and we were told the room was supposed to go to two ladies so they put us in a temporary room; and informed us that they would move us quickly into our new room the next day no later than 2:30 or 3pm because we were priority. We didn't get our room until 3:55pm after we became impatient; almost two days wasted for checking in. And my husband got sick on the fourth day! The nurse and the night manager responded quickly to our request, thanks goodness they did because my husband had a tempature of 104. The things we HATE about the resort: customer service was slow, no adults only pool, we had to ask for our fridge to be restocked everyday with water, we (mostly my husband) drank alot of water because we were not drinking alcohol; and they always seemed so annoyed with the requests; the room service food selections were very limited and SUPER slow! The photo shop scheduled us for our anniversary photos for 6pm, we waited until 6:10pm no one showed up so we left. The restaurants reserveratiom APP didn't work properly: Hunter restaurant was booked up for our entire stay but Information service was able to get us a reservation. Customer relation didn't want to hear the negative parts about the resort, the resort was a bit rundown but the rooms were very nice. The food and drinks were just okay however, Zen, curry goats; and jerked chicken at the hut were excellent. The things we liked about the resorts: the housekeeper (Annette) was AMAZING, the Zen cooks were entertaining, very pleasant; and personable. The Martini piano/singer was VERY GOOD and had everyone to sing along, the VibeTeam always had people dancing and very entertaining, the water arobic instructor was very good everyone always took part; and Thye has amazing voice. In our 25 years of traveling this was our worst experience!

We have just arrived home after a week spent at The Royalton, we were Diamond club and in block 5. The location was perfect, our room was lovely and cleaned daily and no damp smells at all, which others have experienced? The views from our swim up were stunning and although the pool was cold it was refreshing once in. We had 2 butlers Gregory & Dane and both were fabulous guys who worked very hard at the resort ❤️One love. They booked restaurants, checked in on us each morning, brought food and drinks when we asked and would stop for a chat whenever we saw them. We arrived back from our evening one night to a beautifully decorated room which Gregory had done for our special anniversary! My husband and I didn’t utilise the butlers as other guests had but we were quite happy to explore the bars and restaurants ourselves. We are at Hunters twice during our stay and had wonderful meals both evenings, the staff were mainly happy to serve us but quite abrupt at times. I found it strange that in the majority of restaurants you are only given one set of cutlery and told to keep your fork! Take salt & pepper sachets with you as there are no condiments on the tables. Gratzia for breakfast was lovely and the waitress who served us (Shantel)each morning was amazing, her warm smile and positivity started our Jamaican days perfectly! The pizzas at lunchtime were lovely on the beach. Armadillos tex max was lovely too. Buffet was good, I am a very picky eater and I always found something that I liked, the deserts in there were fantastic! Our favourite lunchtimes were spent at the Diamond beach bar & grill, the burgers and steaks were really good! We walked all along the bay and enjoyed seeing the Jamaican stalls, just remember to put suncream on the backs of your legs and feet as we learnt the hard way and ended up so burnt! The Diamond club beach was a perfect spot for us, although there is a nudist beach right next to it with naked people going in and out of the sea, it was quiet and very peaceful. The bars I think we tried them all 😊 Kevin & Tiffany at the lobby bar were amazing and made us some lovely espresso martinis, the bar adjoining building 5 was lovely in the evening. Stock doesn’t get replenished often so when you are told (we don’t have it try again tomorrow) we would just go to a different bar and try. My honest review of the hotel in general. Worth the long transfer from the airport✔️ The location is perfect, The sea is beautiful and so warm! The majority of the staff are the happiest people we have ever met 🤜🇯🇲 The food in all restaurants is great. Our room was lovely, comfortable bed and very clean. Negatives More sun beds are needed around the pools as there is plenty of room, all sun beds should have a cushion. Dining tables should be laid with at least 2 sets of cutlery and a desert spoon, a teaspoon with your coffee would be helpful too Bites Although spraying and wearing citronella bracelets we have been bitten so much, maybe a plug in device for your rooms would be on my packing list next time? Will we return 🤔 Ya Mon 🇯🇲 One Love 💚💛🖤

Royalton Negril, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort 16/01/25 - 11 night stay. My wife and I stayed at this hotel in January 2025 and were very disappointed with our stay due to the following reasons- Swim up bar in main pool was closed for our entire holiday with no signs of it reopening any time soon. A temporary bar was set up outside the pool, however, the selection of drinks was very limited, beer, slush and rum. Never had bananas or mint for cocktails, this applied to many of the bars. Jacuzzi in middle of main pool was not working due to pump being broken, again no signs of it being repaired. No non motorised water sports available ( kayaks, snorkelling, paddle boards, sailing) due to equipment being replaced (strange). Non motorised water sports still be advertised on room tv. Room smelt of mold, furniture in poor condition, shower leaking, holes in walls and headboard. Door entrance lock failed 3 times resulting in long walks to reception to rectify. Resort now in need of refurbishment. Not 5 star more like 3. Apologies for late review as been waiting forever for Tui to respond with an offer of compensation. After many on line chats Tui finally responded with a £200 voucher. Not acceptable but was told this was their offer take or leave. Very disappointed with Tui customer service will never go with Tui again.

No beds Guests were out a 0609 hours selecting their beds using beach towels from the day before I asked for a towel, we have none. Asked for one on the sunbed, no these belong to quest who have reserved a bed. The pool opens at 0900!

We booked this trip last August to celebrate our wedding anniversary in February. After reading mixed reviews we really were not sure what to expect. Immediately upon arrival we were very happy with our choice. The resort itself is beautiful, well laid out and very easy to navigate. Our checkin was quick and easy upon which we were escorted to our room in building one. Excellent. Spacious, clean with a wonderful view. Our butler Kirk greeted us, gave an overview of services and asked which of the specialty restaurants we wanted. We really appreciated having him during our stay. We tried all specialty restaurants with the exception of Calypso (only due to the fact we loved the Italian so much we went twice!) We loved the selection at the buffet and the jerk chicken hut was a highlight for my husband. The take away pizza from the Italian at lunch was delicious. Great selection of drink choices throughout the whole resort. Try the pina colada at the lobby bar…. So yummy! We did an afternoon at the spa. Big shout out to Tori and Stacey for the fabulous massages! The best way to treat yourself on vacation. Highly recommend! While there were several lovely pools, we spent all of our time on the beach. It was impeccably maintained, easy to get loungers and lots of palapas for shade. We were diamond club (worth it!) so there were servers on the beach who will get you drinks and go to the jerk hut for you to get lunch if you wish. I would just like to state that the servers we encountered were very pleasant and lovely to deal with throughout our stay. I have seen reviews stating people were rude… so not our experience. I hesitated to write this but in many cases I find you get what you give. There said it. We are already planning to return next year!

Jovie, Kavie and Prince led the class in the ocean, brilliant experience amazing class. Just what you need to wake up in the morning and burn off all the rum from the night before. Lots of encouragement, they make the class fun and a great alternative to visiting the gym

Came back from 14 nights today this was our second 2 week stay we stop there 2 years ago. Would we go back not a chance its a tough one so I thought I would just give you a list of stuff that was not acceptable imo. And a few things that were. Sports bar two meals orderd only one arrived the chef did a runner for an hour when I had mine. Wife's came 1.5 hours later. Then the soup came out last it was lovely but only one spoon the only other spoon was a tea spoon to eat soup with is what we were told. Room service was OK and worked well Food in the bookable restaurants was good if you can get booked in I found a hack that if you logged on at midnight when the reservation list reopens you could get a table. Housekeeping was a joke no fridge refilling had to keep asking the wife had no quilt on her bed for two nights despite asking 3 or 4 time. Coffee in the room was not available and we had to keep asking for some. The small beach was our favourite the large one is full of hawkers it doesn't bother me but the small one is quiet. Despite the signs you need a towl on a sun lounger buy 6.30 to reserve one or you are out of luck. Talking of towls some days you had them in the room some days not and waited 2.5 hours for Housekeeping to deliver them. The noise round the main pool / kids area is mental loud and it full of very very loud drunk Americans (sorry if you Americans reading this thats not to say some are not English). When we pulled a plug out of a socket in our room the whole unit came out leaving the naked wires I fixed it I am an electrical engineer lolll. In general the hotel is clean tidy and well looked after. Millicent Samuels in the Italian was lovely and a great waitress the bar staff are ok the heavy tippers are always served 1st that will be the American influence. The bars ran out of beer upstairs at one point and they were pouring it from cans didn't really bother me tbh. That will do for the moment I will edit if any thing else comes to mind.

This was our second time at the royalton and sadly we were disappointed from our first visit two years ago. The hotel is beautiful but sadly expectations were not met. Somethings to be aware of - you have to call to get your fridge filled it was not done daily and as far as waters go they max you at four 500 ml bottles and if you want more you have to call for room service again. - towels in the room were an issue, for 3 days we called for face towels and a towel for the floor at the shower. I called and asked for them none were delivered and when I asked the cleaning staff they said they didn’t have any. - If you want peace on the beach this isn’t the most peaceful place. Employees consistently ask you to join the diamond club and don’t like hearing no. Also you hear people shouting for braids / smokes almost every hour on the beach - when getting food at the jerk hut you can wait in line but sadly some staff will cut in and throw in 4-6 plates to go serve other guests even though you’re already waiting. - alcohol is included but expect the bottom level bar rail. Although the hotel is beautiful and people are friendly these are just things that have gotten worse overtime and are the factor why we won’t go back.

Our stay at Royalton Negril was a mixed experience. While the resort itself is beautiful and some staff members are genuinely friendly and helpful, service inconsistencies and maintenance issues made the trip less enjoyable than expected. One of the biggest disappointments was the condition of the room. The shower was broken, and even when it worked, the water pressure was extremely low, making it frustrating to use. Despite reporting the issue, it took a long time for maintenance to respond, and even after they did, the problem wasn’t fully resolved. For a resort that markets itself as luxury, these types of basic issues shouldn’t be happening. Another downside was the service, which was slow and, at times, lacking altogether. Restaurants had long wait times, and drinks at the bar often took much longer than expected. While some staff members were great, a few were outright rude, which put a damper on the experience. That said, most employees were friendly, but they seemed overwhelmed, likely due to staffing shortages. The resort has potential, and the beach and pools are fantastic, but the combination of room maintenance issues, slow service, and occasional rude interactions made it hard to fully relax and enjoy the trip. If management focused more on staff training and resort upkeep, it could be a much better experience. Until then, I’d only recommend it to those who are patient and willing to overlook some major service flaws.
