Fitness classes at Royalton Grenada
Kelson absolutely kicked my butt in the Booty Killer class in the Royalton Got gym - really great session, it's a lovely gym, really great equipment and lovely instructors. I also did the yoga session which was so nice! Thanks so much for helping me burn off the rum!
Lovely hotel. Had an amazing time.
We stayed here for 1 week from 28/02. The hotel is maybe 5 minutes drive from the airport costing $12. We took a card from the taxi driver for trips and the return transfer. Arrived at the hotel and we're given the nicest welcome and a fruit punch. (Rum available)....
We stayed here for 1 week from 28/02.
The hotel is maybe 5 minutes drive from the airport costing $12. We took a card from the taxi driver for trips and the return transfer.
Arrived at the hotel and we're given the nicest welcome and a fruit punch. (Rum available).
We were then taken on a buggy to the diamond club check in. This was a lovely air conditioned room with drinks (including alcohol) available along with a small selection of food.
Check in was less than 5 minutes and we were off to our room.
Having stayed in 2 other Royaltons I wasn't fussed on having diamond club but specifically booked the walkout room so it comes with it.
The room was absolutely beautiful. I'd waited over a year and it did not disappoint. Diamond club butler showed us around the room and was very lovely.
The buffet is smaller than the other hotels but this doesn't take away from the variety or standards. I'm a fussy eater and there was never a day when there wasn't something I loved. The only small issue was if you were not seated in the main area but instead to the side you can be waiting quite a while for someone to bring over water or ask about other drinks.
We ate at Taj one evening and it was nice. The portions rather small but you can pick which ever sides you want. I had the tikka starter which was really nice but my husband had the lamb and it didn't look very appetizing. It was very grey in colour and said it didn't taste great. The curry was good though.
Didn't really spend much time at the pools as we had the walk out room and we really are beach people. We walked down the beach to Aquarium for the Sunday BBQ which I highly recommend.
The grounds are maintained beautifully and there are always staff walking around keeping on top of cleanliness.
We didn't use the butlers for anything as there was not really any need too.
We went to the street food event and the local hotel (can't remember the name of it) and had the most fantastic time.
We did an excursion through the hotel to the rainforest, lake and grand anse beach.
I would 100% come back to this island again.

After reading the very negative and unfair review written on 11th March, although I do not often compose reviews, I feel compelled to write something to add some balance here as I know such reviews can have a big impact.
As per many previous reviews, we concur with the many positives as follows;-
Hotel Setting - Stunning Grounds and Beautiful Beach Setting
Fitness Facilities and Fitness Staff - Brilliant
Entertainment Both Daytime and Evening - Very Good, the Vibe Team worked tirelessly and George on the dance floor was a breath of fresh air.
Our Room - Meticulously cleaned and serviced daily.
Hotel Staff - In general, mainly friendly, helpful and courteous,
There were a couple of areas which do require attention;-
Service at the bars - The bar staff seemed to work very hard, the main problem seemed to be that many people were ordering time consuming cocktails which created unwelcome waiting times. There were times when other staff were around but they were not stepping in to help, could 'working smart flexibly'' be introduced? Alternatively, could self service stations for soft drinks etc be introduced? I will add there did appear to be an uptick in bar service during the last few days of our stay?
Waiting times at The Buffet Restaurants - There were a few days where we queued some time to enter the restaurant, not every day but on a few days over a busy weekend, this did not go down well. It seems that staffing levels at these times need to be looked at?
In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However, when a hotel is graded as 5 Star, many expect perfection and will otherwise complain. Maybe, just a few tweaks are needed.

We spent two weeks at the Royalton Grenada and enjoyed our time there and would return. We were concerned by some of the negative reviews but we had a fun, relaxing vacation. For us, the most impressive thing was the Grenadian people. Almost everyone had a positive and friendly attitude. We were thanked for spending our vacation with them. They appeared to like us as guests. They wanted to know what we thought of their country and our stay. As guests, we were valued.
We stayed at the Diamond Club and appreciated our butlers Jermisha and Brad. Jermisha worked most during the day shift and arranged many things for us. They used WhatsApp to keep in touch. We spent most days under a shade tree on a comfortable lounger. There are plenty of lounge chairs and especially if you want to be in the sun. Shady spots were not as plentiful. During our first week, there were more families and it was fun watching the kids enjoying the pool. The second week there were more older people chatting and sipping a fancy drink in the pool! Looking after our beach and pool needs were Rocky, who worked very hard at taking and delivering food and drink orders, the always happy Joshim and Abygail, who can probably help you out if you need sunscreen. We enjoyed going to the daily aqua fit classes and it was a fun workout led by the enthusiastic FIT team: Kelsom, Roneisha and Jeremy. The classes are fun. Kelsom also led excellent yoga classes at 7:30 am most days. The class was offered early in the day because of the heat later in the day.
From some of the reviews, we were worried about the food! We prefer a restaurant meal to a buffet. Our favourite restaurant was Ma Maison and many thanks to Selina, Jamal and Jenelle for looking after us four times and especially on our last night. We really enjoyed meeting Nexi, the hostess at Taj and she always looked after us and even when I messed up the reservation time. The food was good and the servers had to deliver so much food to the tables that there wasn’t time for small talk. They were very efficient! We were especially happy to be part of the 51st anniversary Independence meal at Marche. Thank you to Kayla, Trevis, Gary and Chef Andrew. They enjoyed explaining the food choices. The woman who was in charge of the desserts that night did an awesome job! Sorry I didn’t learn her name. I admit to trying 5 desserts. We often went for breakfast at Marche and we enjoyed eating there. The staff was great and there were lots of healthy choices. When we had breakfast at Grazie, we appreciated Nyasha looking after us. Most guests followed the dinner dress code which is smart casual. Jermisha arranged room service one evening and it arrived hot, on time and it was yummy. For lunch we sometimes ordered from Nibbles or made a plate from the Diamond Club buffet. There was plenty of food! Most often our room cleaner was Alisha C. She did an excellent job every time and was very friendly. Everyone who works there has a uniform and that makes it easy to know who was working and doing what. There were unobtrusive security guards on duty. The gardens are beautiful at the Royalton and the gardeners always appreciated a thank you as they worked very hard.
As others have said, the Royalton location is excellent. It’s close to the airport and the long beach is beautiful. The sunsets are beautiful! At one end of the beach, people can snorkel and at the other end there’s a sandy beach more suitable for swimming.
Our room was on the top floor of Diamond Club and faced the ocean. The view was lovely and the room was quite nice. I would have liked a shelf in the shower for my hair products and a robe and a few hooks in the room would be helpful, too.
Finally, a big thank you to the staff a guest never meets. Thank you to whoever does all of the laundry. Washing brown towels day after day must be a huge job! It’s an important job!
We are glad to have visited Grenada and The Royalton was an excellent choice.

coffee , sugar and tea in room were never replaced even when requested. Room towels were not available for one full day after repeated request. Specialty coffee shop can do with additional help in early morning. We had planned to book Royalton in Antigua at end of May this year, but are having second thoughts regarding incidents as previously mentioned. A bit hesitant to recommend.

The best part, is the less than 5 minute drive from airport to resort! Loved that! The whole resort, pools and beaches are safe, clean and stunning. Butler service was a hit and miss. Our friends had Linton, who was outstanding, but our butlers were MIA most of the time and didn’t respond when we had questions. Linton did more for us than our own butlers.
Beach butler, Joshim, was a shining star and always had a smile on his face and happy to bring drinks. He has a bright future. Many people we talked to had little to no contact with their butlers. We just asked our butler to make dinner reservations, we were not demanding at all! We each had a day and evening butler. I am shocked they have to share tips because some were amazing and some fell very short.
Rooms were lovely and kept very clean!
Food was a real disappointment for the 4 of us and also to the many we talked to. Diamond lounge was stocked with cocktails and snacks so that was nice. We didn’t starve but also did have anything that was really good. If they want to be a 5 star they need to be more consistent and step up the quality of the food.
Entertainment and vibe team were great!
Pool bars were great and towels are available to change out regularly. My husband said the snorkelling off the beach was fantastic and like he was swimming in an aquarium.
The majority of the staff throughout the whole resort were unbelievably friendly and helpful with rare exceptions.
Thanks to Linton and Joshim for making our experience a great one.
Diamond Club was nice but I am not convinced it was worth the price of the upgrade. The views from the balcony were amazing! Diamond club breakfast restaurant has amazing sweeping views of the ocean. I would return but again, better food would make this place amazing!

We had an amazing trip. Almost 5*
All the staff are so friendly.
The hotel was modern, clean and well maintained. The food was great and scenery beautiful.
You have to go Diamond club to get the best experience.
Our butlers Quaver and Kebra were fantastic, made my birthday extra special decorating the room and throughout the stay bringing extra drinks to us, organised a beach side massage for us and generally helpful.
The diamond club beach was the best, close enough to the pool and the sea, staff often coming around with fruit and for you to order drinks.
Aqua aerobics was a really good workout mid morning with Kelso.
Diamond club breakfast overlooking the sea was incredible could even order eggs and omelettes the way you like and smoothies along side the buffet.
Italian restaurant was great, same location as diamond club breakfast overlooking the sea, good selection of food. Curry restaurant was good.
We didn't have any issues with them running out of food or drinks.
Evening entertainment was great, from music, signing, bands. Bit of bingo, a fire show one night.
Negatives
1. Always a queue at the buffet although the food was fine, drinks order was slow.
2. The diamond club pool seating area was always shaded. (Not a big deal as we just sat on the beach or non diamond club area right next to it)
3. Sometimes the pool bar got busy.
4.French restaurant we only went once as not enough on the menu to go again the service was a bit slow and we had to wait for a table despite booking ahead.
5. Spirits and cocktails could be poured a little strong for my liking (but learnt what was good, what to order or to ask for a smaller measure)

The hotel is superb but it’s the friendly & helpful staff who have really made this one of our best holiday experiences. The food is plentiful & delicious , the rooms are clean & modern, the beach is amazing & the fitness and evening entertainment programme is varied & fun - there is something for everyone. We really enjoyed the aqua fitness classes with Kelston and thr hot tub is super! As someone who needs a gluten free & lactose free diet I was a little worried that the hotel may not accommodate, but the buffet restaurant has quite a few options & the Indian, French & Italian restaurants all marked up their menus with allergens so it was easy to know what was safe to eat. The only negative for us is the wait to be seated at each mealtime and often slow service at the main bar, which has been more than a 10 minute wait some days. Overall our experience has been wonderful & we would highly recommend this hotel.

We have just finished our stay at the Grenada royalton, if you are concerned about negative reviews don't worry. Our butlers Yolanda and Edson checked in on us daily, Yolanda often came to our sunbeds to see if we were ok, if we needed anything booking or anything for the room. Edson was our afternoon butler he met us at each restaurant we were booked in at, he made sure we were seated with a drink and had everything we required, before leaving us in the hands of our waitress for the evening, Cant fault them, either in person or at the end of a WhatsApp always there.
The hotel was perfect for relaxing, beaches good, special mention to Joshin, the beach waiter on the diamond club beach an extra ray of sunshine every day.
Speciality restaurants were good fixed menu but if you share them around it was varied. One point of note one of us is gluten and dairy free, unfortunately the choice in the Taj Indian restaurant was very limited other 2 no issues.
Our room serviced every day to a high standard minibar well stocked, bottle of fizz appeared whenever we asked.
Grounds very well maintained, all the staff very pleasant and polite.

Firstly l found all staff very polite, friendly and mostly helpful.
Food was good, some issues with flies but not excessive. Variety of food especially chicken, good job l like chicken. Had some problems with queuing for entrance to restaurants but a wonderful lady called Shenille was so calm, polite respectful. What a treasure.
Bar drinks fine, coffee bar open till late, good idea.plenty of seats for some excellent entertainment, the Vibe team work really hard during te day as well of a night George another favourite of everyone.
Lovely beach, plenty of towels, but it could do with more mattresses, also perhaps a good idea would be to have the sand cleaned once a week as twigs, roots from trees sticking out of the sand could be quite dangerous. A rock reef all along the beach so be careful. Overall its a lovely beach.
We had a beach front room floor 3 views were spectacular, kept clean, lots of water in the fridge, juices not always replaced but a call to services and they will bring some for you.
Couldn’t get a late check out, so now sitting in the bar in the shade with a glass of wine, cheers everyone. Visit for yourself it’s not as bad a some would have you think, really quite nice.

Amazing time at the Royalton. Special shout out to Kelson our aqua aerobics instructor who motivated all to join in a very energetic workout with his high energy moves to some unbeat tunes. Will definitely be back tomorrow. Definitely as asset to the Royalton.

We had a lolvely holiday at the Royalton - I went with an open mind following all the mixed reviews - some really negative. I suppose as I do not normally frequent all inclusive facilities my expectations may not have been as high as some.
The location and proximity to airport was a definite plus.
Check in was smooth and quick, we were very tired and pleased to get to our room swiftly by buggy with our 'assigned butler Lindon' . We did not have bath towels or robes in our room but this was very swiftly resolved and did not cause an issue at all for us, the room was very clean and spacious we were in building 20 - third floor Diamond Club which had the added bonus of an extended shared terrace as well as balcony. We had a welcome pack - fruit, snacks and a bottle of champagne, a room spray fragrance and a beach bag for us to keep. The fridge minibar was well stocked with water, juices, sodas and beers and our lovely butler sourced some tomato juice for my husband who doesnt drink - so a real thank you for that, I had a few issues in connecting via whatsapp due to the wifi not being secure and my vpn threw a wobbly - but managed to master it and once had whatsapp could could communicate easily with butler if needed - Lindon was the butler we saw most of he would go out of his way to check in with us and arranged to bring our lunch to the beach etc when necessary. Dasha was often the evening butler who did introduce herself to us and was very polite but as we retire early to our room we did not have so much contact. Jamie also was a relief butler - who ensured that my spa booking was all in order and that i got the 20% discount for guests etc. Thanks also to Lindon for ensuring the six nations rugby was available via the special services channel in our room.
The Diamond Club lounge bar was well stocked with all the spirits most folk would want. - hot and cold snacks were available in the lounge at most points of the day.
There is good food choices at the main buffet - my only observation would be as has been previously reported is that it does not retain its heat - our work around was eat in the buffet early or have the freshly prepared options from the buffet. Salads -m cold meats, seafood etc were plentiful and on ice so good options as well.
We did not experience any shortages etc of food/drink there were always options. There was an issue with water one of the days but it was repaired and attended to and well communicated via Whatsapp
We also ate in the Taj Indian food was tasty and well prepared as noted prevously by guests the starters etc were small but you could order more than one. We enjoyed our curries. We were intending to eat at the french restaurant Ma Maison - on our second night although the booking was a little later than we would normally dine - and unfortunately arriving on time there was still two couples waiting to be seated - as it was getting later for us to dine we chose to eat in the buffet that evening.
We did eat twice at Grazie the Italian - which we really enjoyed food was good quality and well prepared and hot at presentation. Only observation and by no means a complaint - would be a consideration perhaps of a 'dish of the day' to bring more variety to the menu which I believe is static and doesn't change.
Grenada is hilly and resort was no exception and I think for some guests the steps to their accommodation was challenging in the buildings with no elevator - our accommodation had an elevator.
We found the flatter route around the resort by the lake which was picturesque.
The pools are nice but if you want to swim I would advise before the bars open at 10 am as they have swim up bars on the ones by the beach. There is aquafit alternated between the pool by the beach and in the Royalton main pool by Grazie led by the energetic Kelson - we did not partake but did view. We did go on an early morning walk led by Kelson which although hilly was interesting and we were glad we went - we saw where the Aquarium Restaurant is further along to the left of the resort along the beach.
Snorkelling was great - I saw many fish varieties, a ray of some sort and an eel and really enjoyed doing this both at the sports beach end and in front of the DC pool near Nibbles. Nibbles does good lunches. Scoops for coffee/ice cream great.
Entertainment seemed good - we went to Grenada night and stayed til 10 and also watched artist and violinist - but at times the music on another evenings was far too loud for us and also there is lots of seating but it is quite low and more for lounging and as some of us get older can be a little more difficult to get out of. (just an observation)
The spa was lovely and i really enjoyed my renergising massage on the last day.
I should note that my husband lost his wallet on the last day we discovered just before we were being picked up for airport - we asked reception who contacted security and we very relieved that the wallet had been handed in, all contacts intact and it was returned to us and we left for airport on time.
We went on one trip that was organised by St James Travel and Tours - which was fine but if I had realised they subcontract to the licensed private taxi tour guides - I would have preferred to book direct so that the driver got the full fee we were charged. All the taxi drivers that are licensed tour guides as well so we agreed our own itinerary with Ian Baptiste of Specky Tours - he was a lovely man and we spent six hours in his company as he showed us some parts of Grenada that we would not have thought of seeing - we managed to avoid all the crowds too (there were three cruise ships in ) so I imagine some places would have been really busy ) loved the trip to a very small spice garden, seeing, smelling, tasting etc. - all in all would go again at the drop of a hat if the flight upgrades we need were not so expensive

We stayed here at the end of February for 12 days.
Overall we had mixed views of the resort - we’ve travelled to many 5* resorts and hotels across the world and have had many great experiences of great customer service and excellent hotel standards.
1. Check in was more than terrible. We were offered no welcome drink. We were told to wait to be taken down to the diamond club for our check in and only after complaining twice and 30 mins of waiting did we eventually get taken there. We then had to wait a further 30 mins to be looked after at the Diamond Club - again after us complaining why it was taking so long. Eventually we were looked after and taken to our room.
2. Our beachfront walk-out room was lovely and had everything we needed.
3. Our Butlers Quaver & Kebra were very accommodating and looked after all our requests. We were even brought a kettle when we asked for one and fresh milk to make our morning tea.
4. The pool and fitness team were great. Loved the aqua fit and energy this team brings to the resort.
5. The dining experience could be massively enhanced. The main buffet restaurant was no more than a canteen and the only really good thing there was the past station and salads. We ate at the Italian, French and Indian restaurants. All the food there was good but there was no dining experience and you had to ask for drinks and service was way below Standards you would expect from a luxury resort. Once you finished your meal the staff could not care less and you were left to walk out of the restaurant table not even cleared. There was no offer of further drinks and for you to enjoy the experience.
6. The Vibe team were excellent and did their best to make the entertainment great. Really enjoyed bingo, sip and paint and the shows.
Grenada as an island was beautiful. We hired a car and toured all around. We also did the trip to the capital which was good.
Overall would we return yes to the island. Maybe not to the hotel -It just didn’t deliver what we expect a luxury resort should.

Currently waiting to leave this hotel after spending 10 days at the hotel.
Room
Really clean and had a sea view. The majority of the rooms are sea view from what I can see.
No iron in room and only negative is that I requested daily and never got an iron!
Mini bar with beer, soft drinks and water replenished everyday.
Pools
2 pools and a kids pool.
One had infinity pool and was like a bath.
Plenty of towels in different areas to change.
Bars
Pool bars, beach bar and 2 main area bars that would make any cocktail for you.
Variety of wines and although not diamond club you could have branded spirits.
Restaurants
Indian- nice food went there once but was smaller meals but you could have extra
Italian- really nice and such good choice of food.
French- was again really nice with good selection of food and great desserts
Main buffet- very good for food went there daily. Such food variety of food throughout the day. Some days it was busy so had to wait for more glasses but really nice and one of the best buffets
Coffee shop- had sandwiches, cakes and ice cream aswell as coffee
Did not go to Nibbles as it was busy but heard good things
Staff
Really nice and friendly and some guests were demanding of complaining over little things and the staff were just so accommodating.
Shoutout to Tiffany in the coffee shop so friendly and didn’t seem bothered about the crowd first thing!
Tiffany by the pool bar was so nice made the best cocktails and even made specialist cocktails for guests
Entertainment
Really good shows in the evening, did bingo and there was entertainment in the day.

Beautiful setting and grounds but I found the food to be quite bland, luke warm and just bad quality. The food served at the restaurants that you have to book is no better than the buffet. The staff seem quite unhappy which is not the kind of attitude you want from a holiday although I will say that the entertainment crew were upbeat and always bought energy if you're into that kind of thing. I would have preferred to be provided with large or even medium sized bottles of water within the room based on you being in a warm climate and also served at the bars as you're paying for all-inclusive. The hotel is in a good location but taxis are quite expensive when most things are a 15-20min ride away. I would not return to this hotel but I wouldn't say it was unpleasant, i just enjoy my food and it wasn't to my taste.

This was a great getaway for anyone who loves the security of all inclusives. Beautiful setting and beach, food is excellent with plenty of variety, service is great. Only minutes from the airport and town. We were there for a week, weather perfect every day.
We opted for three Air Canada side trips: the Nature tour and Snorkelling tour were disappointing and overpriced, but the Saturday trip to the Spice market was fun. Hair raising drives to destinations were also fun.
If you are a coffee lover then bring your own, as theirs is not good.
Best thing: hearing the surf all night long and waking up to a cacophony if bird song. Just the sounds of nature.

We selected DC option and picked a walkout room. Lovely option to see the beach and ocean the moment you wake up. Our room was kept clean and always had fresh towels available. Enjoyed all pools and beaches - the quiet one by Grazie restaurant and the DC one. We walked over to the Magazine Beach so pretty. The grounds were beautifully kept and always clean. The restaurants and food selections were great, especially Ma Maison and Grazie where we had à la carte dinners. Every bar offered a variety of drink selections and they were delicious. Our butlers were a good addition and always willing to assist. Definitely recommended!

5th Royalton resort we have stayed at. Previously stayed at Hideaway DC Punta Cana, Riviera Cancun, Blue Waters, and St. Lucia. Had Hideaway Negril booked for 2026 but had to switch to Planet Hollywood (Royalton property) instead so you can see we enjoy their brand. We have zero complaints when it comes to Royalton Grenada. Even though it was not always a Royalton property and only became one a few years ago the newly built DC area and the refresh of the rest make it feel like a Royalton property. We’ve always upgraded to DC which we enjoy the perks of but non-DC seems nice too. The pricing of DC in most cases feels correct for what you get so if you want some perks the increase is worth it if you don’t feel the need for the perks then saving that money is worth it. Everyone’s experience is different but for us it was 5 star. Our butlers (Jason and Brad G) were great. The food (especially the al a cartes, Ma Maison and Grazie) was so good. The bars, pools, beach, water, cafe, staff, other guests and kids were all good. Like I mentioned we really enjoy the Royalton brand and have never experienced the negative things others write about on here. Our favourite was St. Lucia due to their DC swim outs but Grenada was a close 2nd with the DC beach walk outs.

Would recommend eating outside of resort in order to truely experience the spice island. Should be avoided at all costs

Diamond club is a must and the butlers deshona and quaver are the ones to have. They saw to our every needs no problem. Food in the restaurants is ok but not great . I had a hair on my sausage. Room service isn’t great. Menu could be better. Cleanliness of rooms wasn’t great either. Bed wasn’t change just turned over so the dirty side was on the inside. staff are friendly . Just a few teething problems this resort needs to see to and it could be so much better.

We visited the Royalton Grenada late November through early December for a total of 9 nights and it was fabulous. We arrived at check in and the nice girl immediately brought me a rum punch, I asked if there was a cold beer available, and she smiled and said I will be right back with a cold one for you sir. Every staff member I encountered had a smile and a positive attitude. We ate at the buffet most days as I like having the variety and the ability to return for seconds when I find something good. We ate at the Italian restaurant one night and we got a fried seafood dinner and it was really good. Everything on the menu was also available. Thursday at the buffet is Grenadian night, oil down is the national dish. When I told the gentleman it was the best oil down I have ever had, he pointed to an older gentleman and said please tell him, he is my father and he made it. I am a beer drinker and there was no shortage. Our room was kept spotless every day by the house cleaning staff. The waves were quite big so we were not able to do much swimming in the ocean which I missed. No problem finding a shady spot on the beach as there were plenty of beds and plenty of towels.
We did not do Diamond Club and we were able to have a great time. Sometimes the music at the pools can be a little loud, but not a big deal. We are not big on the evening entertainment so I can’t comment on that. We have been to this Royalton a few times and this was one of the better trips.

Only improvement would be a better choice of restaurants , the Italian restaurant was very disappointing in terms of food quality. The staff were amazing.

Airport 5 min transfer but no noise issues.
Transfer to room was slow.
Staff very friendly
Kelson from Royalton Fit was excellent, sunrise yoga every day was great and Kelson was really helpful when I had an issue with my phone. The gym is also excellent.
Karima on Reception was very unhelpful and unfriendly, probably the worst receptionist I have ever encountered.
The buffet at breakfast and lunch were good but disappointing in the evening. The French restaurant was good, the Italian ok and the Indian was terrible.
Overall we really enjoyed our trip.
The drinks selection are also good.

The Royalton is a beachfront hotel located about 15 min drive from the airport.
Check-in.
The experience was pretty good and quick. Info provided by front desk was useful.
Room.
We booked a superior room which was located in block 11 and had a view both of the sea and the hotel's lake. The room was a decent size with a mini bar (included), coffee machine (didn't work), safe, hairdryer and a sizeable wardrobe for clothes. Also had a small balcony which was very nice. The room was kept clean throughout our stay, but during a period of heavy rain, we had water ingress into the room which appeared to be coming from underneath the wardrobe. Luckily didn't impact our belongings and I personally mopped it up with the cleaner's mop and beach towels. Does point to some infrastructure issues tho.
Restaurants
Buffet restaurant - staff here were absolutely lovely. Friendly and eager to please. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of hot and cold choices. Lunchtime was not so good. Choices repetitive and much of the food was lukewarm. Evening meals were similar to Lunchtime. Also maintenance issue with torrent of water coming through the ceiling during one rainy day.
French Restaurant - food very good although portion size was very small. Ambience was lovely.
Indian Restaurant - Food again was good but portions again were small. Ambience again was nice.
Italian Restaurant - Food wasn't great to be honest and half the menu was unavailable including all pizzas. Staff looked miserable. The restaurant is basically located at the main pool and open with tables used being the poolside patio tables. No ambiance and felt like a poolside snack bar.
Coffee Shop - Probably the highlight of the hotel. Staff were fantastic. Wide choice of hot and cold drinks including milkshakes. Selection of different flavoured ice creams and cakes and pastries.
Pool areas - seemed to be plenty of beds, but music too loud for my choice and not a relaxing environment. Depends on whether you want an Ibiza like experience I suppose.
Beach - The beach is beautiful and sandy, however, a big negative for me is that there is no effort paid to cleaning the beds or mattresses. Covered in sand, bird droppings and detritus from trees. Come on this is basic. Similarly, litter on the beach, I'm sure someone could do a 5 min sweep each morning.
Lake area - This is lovely, especially for those with an interest in wildlife as loads of different birds in the area. However, again let down by litter and loads of plastic bottles around the edges. Shame when the surrounding gardens are immaculately maintained.
Entertainment - A mixture of very good and not so good evening entertainment. Local bands and dancers were very good. However, the entertainment staff again feel the need to blast music out at all times of the day. Judge the clientele, middle aged couples and families probably don't want night club volume levels of dance music. On one occasion during the afternoon sat in the bar area watching football on large tvs with 5 other guests, with 2 other guests quietly reading close by. Then the house DJ thought it appropriate to fire up the disco to Ibiza levels in same area, for nobody's benefit other than his own. Again, assess your audience!!!
Front Desk Supervisor - Couple of days before leaving, asked if could extend check out time. Advised shouldn't be a problem but would incur a cost which wasn't an issue, but would need to check back night before. Checked back night before then told I would need to check back first thing in the morning of departure, to then be told come back 2 hours later when duty Supervisor was on duty. Then told not possible, which is fine but wasted lots of my time on incorrect information. Asked if somewhere where we could use a shower, told to use the outside shower at the kids pool. Not sure they would want to see naked adults showering ready to leave the hotel. Anyway, took upon ourselves to book a free spot at the Spa to use the shower there.
Lots to like about this hotel but clearly not 5 star standard. Maintenance issues which need resolving as well as the litter problems. Not up to the standards of similar priced hotels we have stayed in on other Caribbean islands.

We spent a week at the hotel in early December. The hotel is in such a beautiful position with the beach on its doorstep and being surrounded by wonderfully kept gardens with a lake. And only 5 mins from airport but there’s no noise from the planes.
The hotel didnt look tired at all like some reviews have claimed. It was clean and today and well kept. Really quite stunning.
We had a double room overlooking the garden not the beach sadly. But has to be the most comfortable bed ever, the shower was powerful and bathroom clean and we had a small balcony.
The stars of the hotel were definitely the staff. So incredibly friendly and warm, couldn’t do enough for us and gave lots of recommendations for places to visit. They work so hard but always wanted to chat and look after us. Those in the buffet, bars and Nibbles need a big shout out. Thank you. There can be no one as friendly as the Grenadians. Gorgeous people.
Wherever you are in the hotel it’s a mere 5 minutes walk to a stunning beach. It was so quiet when we were here we were often the only people there. Just bliss. We aren’t pool
People but it looked ok. We like Nibbles the small bar on the beach and the lady who was in charge there is just brilliant and so funny!
The only points in terms of slightly negative feedback. Our room 19304 was so noisy at night being on top of the main entertainment area. When you have jet lag but the decibel level of the music is ear splitting it meant sleep or just chilling was impossible. I noted previous reviews saying the music is far too loud and we absolutely agree. There is nowhere to escape the music apart from Sitting on a dark beach. If you’re into variety club type entertainment it’s ok but it’s not our thing. We prefer small bars and Caribbean music.
The food was ok but not write home about level. Lots of it, always warm but just not fab. The best night was the Grenada night when we got to have local food and the chefs talked us through what everything was.
Forget about getting into the al a carte restaurants. You just can’t book in even a week in advance.
The excursions didn’t materialise for us, the hotel not finding enough people to fill a trip. They shouldn’t advertise it if they can’t fill. We very luckily found the best guy who is branching out to tours. We were his first and he gave us the best day of our holiday. He has his own taxi, a very safe driver, so very knowledgeable and proud of his home and just the best fun. So give him a ring. Rafaele +1 4734200787. Cannot recommend him enough.
It would be nice if the beach sun loungers were either put away each night or wiped down. We had to wipe them Free of bird poo most mornings. But just a minor point. The birds are so pretty and kept us entertained and you can feed them From your hand.
So book if you like all inclusive- we’ve realised it isn’t for us as we want to explore local food This hotel was always a taxi drive anywhere near. Also book like us if you want to chill and basically do very little.
Do visit St George. You must take a trip round the island as its paradise. Go to the rum distillery the old one and visit the cocoa farms.
We will go back but although they gave us a lush holiday I think we will find a smaller hotel bearer to Grand Anne beach.

Quoted as ‘luxury dining’ on their app - it DEFINITELY is not that. Who wants a builder’s mug of coffee? Where are the cups & saucers? Was like entering a canteen … chipped tables, napkins like rags.
Room very tired looking. Rained last night & thank goodness husband woke up to stuff towel under door otherwise we would’ve been flooded! Smoke alarm flashes bright in the night like a disco strobe!
We’re looking to move or go home early. In the meantime we’ll just drink to dull the pain.
