Stay far far away from this Royalton in Jamaica

I usually won't write a review if a resort is substandard and will let the hotel figure it out but this resort in Jamaica was so bad I feel I need to warn travelers not to go there. I am a fan of Royalton - we went to the one in Cancun a couple of years ago and it was excellent and this was the reason I told my friends to come but the Hideway Blue waters in Jamaica is horrible. To start the resort was without water for 2 days. The management literally hid in their offices during this period and only said they were working on it as fast as they could. No showers, toilets for 2 days?? Maybe a free spa treatment, excursion or upgraded bottle of wine would have been a nice offer - but nothing. Our butler (Kimberly) was horrible and should either be retrained or let go. She provided attitude to us for simple requests and more or less sat in the Diamond club lounge on her phone waiting for her shift to end. Our friends butler Kamal was very good and made up for Kimberly. The restaurants kept running out of food and wine on multiple nights and we had to go out and find wine at the bars to bring back to the restaurants. Fire alarms kept going off at all hours of the day. Cleaning staff role their carts up and down the tiled halls starting at 7am making loud noise and yell to each other across the resort. We were Diamond club level and when in the diamond club lounge in the evening they start to take away the food and drinks at 10:30pm although the lounge closes at 11pm. We were in there just before 11pm and was told to clean up after ourselves??? Staff won't stay a minute past 11pm. I am hoping other guests that were their during the first week of March 2025 write reviews and can back up my comments. Stay far far away from this resort.

Wanted to love it again, but just can’t. My wife and I are Travelsmart VIP members and purchased the club membership that allowed us to use 100% of any of the royalton resorts. We were here 3 years ago and loved it, but customer service as gone down hill and they are not treating club membership or the upgraded Diamond Club guests they way they should. They literally have blocked off the exclusive diamond club beach area for a business convention despite people paying for the Diamond club area. Hotel Management is worthless, they won’t allow you to enjoy the adults only area even though we are members and by contract should have access. Showers have no water pressure and literally shut off an on multiple times when people are getting ready for dinner. Just awful. DO NOT STAY HERE. Outside your butlers the staff is extremely rude. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE.

Beautiful property, plenty to eat and drink. My favorite part was morning yoga, Daniel remembered our names and I am grateful we had the opportunity to stay on our fitness journey while enjoying vacation. Coffee shop is fantastic! If you sign up for excursions- The chukka catamaran cruise was bizarre, to the falls. Make sure you plan a whole day for that, they keep you in this expensive village for hours before you actually sight see. We got back to the resort at 6 pm. Pack drinks and snacks if you do this.

This is a nice resort with a beautiful beach. We had a few hiccups, we paid for a specific room, and it was not available when we got there. They did however move us to that room three days later. Some attention could be paid to general maintenance and varying water pressure. The staff for the most part is very nice and helpful. A few I would like to mention are Karris at the Taj restaurant, Juddikay, our most excellent butler and the building 4, 6th and 7th floor house keepers. Evadney is the 7th floor, I can't remember the lady's name for the 6th floor. All in all, we had a very enjoyable trip.

I won a 3 night stay at this resort. I heard mixed reviews. First off I want to say, Daniel and Travis on the Royalton Fit Team were excellent! They were funny and very friendly. I got great workouts with them! The beach was very pretty too. Other than that, I think the resort was lacking in the areas of food and friendliness. Some of the staff members were not friendly at all. One day we asked if there were any beach towels and the employee just shook his head “no”. He didn’t offer to help get towels for us. Some of the staff just don’t seem like they go above and beyond or smile as much as other resorts we have been to. Low quality liquor was an issue too. I don’t need top shelf but no resort should be offering Skol vodka! That is the bottom of the bottom. Food was just ok. I don’t expect the highest quality of food at all inclusive resorts, but I felt it was lacking here. The hibachi restaurant was excellent though! Our cook was very friendly and sang songs! I think several areas of the resort could use updating/remodeling. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible experience and I did win this for free so I am grateful to have the experience, but we would not return.
