This was our fourth stay at Castiglion del Bosco, and it's really such a special place. First we went for 1 night... then 2... and now 4... I would say that it's troubling, but it's so relaxing that there is nothing to be troubled about. This is place to go, stay, and enjoy. You'll probably need a car to get to the Rosewood or you need to arrange transportation in advance. Castiglion del Bosco is approximately 20 minutes from the true hill town of Montalcino and is impossible to reach via public transportation. It is an easy drive from Florence or Rome though. (We've done both.) No matter which room you book, you are sure to be happy with it. If you can't be happy at Castiglion del Bosco, you can't be happy anywhere. The junior suite is the base room, and it's romantic, cozy, and huge. We had a small table in our room and chairs on the terrace. The bed was so comfortable. It's probably one of my favorite hotel beds anywhere, and in the winter, what really stood out was the weighted duvet cover. I can’t remember the last time I slept this well. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and a separate soaking tub. Bath products are Angeli di Firenze from the famous Santa Maria Novella pharmacy in Florence. (I also really love that they provide bath salts in the room. It's such an overlooked touch of luxury.) The bathroom has every amenity you could possibly need, including loofahs, toothbrushes, lip balm and a shaving kit. If they don't have it, you don't need it. Some suites include Dyson hair dryers. We've stayed in three other suites, and they were all larger than our first apartment. They are beyond comfortable with beautiful decor and a comfortable Tuscan aesthetic. We love having a terrace (even in the winter), and we spent many a leisurely afternoon sipping wine and enjoying the silence. I've had a few treatments at their spa. (Leti and the Santa Maria Novella pharmacy facial is incredible.) You also can book the sauna and steam room for a private experience. The pool is covered and heated in the winter, so you can enjoy whenever the resort is working. We've taken advantage of cooking classes and wine tastings on property, and they've never disappointed us. (We're also now members of the CdB wine club, and it's been such an incredible community to be a part of, even when we're not traveling!) The restaurant staff and sommeliers are truly outstanding. We've never had a disappointing meal, and we're always excited to see what's on the chef's specials each evening. Prior to arrival, the Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco team will send you information about the additional experiences you can book during your stay at the resort. They offer a variety acitivites beyond spa treatments, cooking classes, and wine tastings, including truffle-hunting experiences, star gazing, art classes, and visits to local producers. If you want to leave the resort, they provide guided tours of Siena, Florence, San Gimignano and more. You don't have to book activities that cost extra. Make sure you ask for the schedule of resort experiences while you are there. Many things are included in your stay and don't cost extra. There really is something for everyone here. No small luxury is overlooked and the staff is truly committed to ensuring that your stay is both memorable and magical. This is one of my favorite finds, my favorite traditions, and somewhere we'll certainly return to again.

We had a fantastic experience at the Rosewood property at Montelcino. The views from the property are just magical. We found our suite most luxurious and well done with a small romantic outdoor area and garden The housekeeping made our stay special by doing up a rose petal bath up and left us most beautiful personalise messages each night. The in house resteraunts were phenomenal and gave us vegetarians plenty of options. Lastly the men and women who work here are truly special. They made our 25th Anniversary celebrations an event we shall hold special for years to come. Am so happy to have chosen Rosewood Tuscany to celebrate our milestone anniversary.

There is one word I would use to describe the Rosewood; perfection! This resort has old world charm with amenities and accommodations that are superior to anything else that my husband and I have ever experienced. From the room, to the staff, to the food, to the spa to the restaurant and bar we were overly impressed. We were provided a number at check which could have been used for requests. Requests as small as a tea bag were made and not one minute later, tea was delivered with honey! Alicia who originally greeted us into the resort was exceptional! She consistently checked to see if anything was needed and was accommodating beyond measure. My husband and I are already booking our trip for next year and extending our stay to four evenings! Thank you again for making our trip so memorable.

WOW, WOW, WOW!! I have stayed in many upscale hotels in my life, but this may be the best. We were lucky to earn a trip here from my company for a group stay of three nights and we all talked about the upscale elegance of this place. While staying, we learned of many celebrities, world leaders, and economic icons (you can find out the names for yourself) that stay here on a regular basis and once you stay here you will know why. This is not a bargain place but if you are looking for a special place to stay to celebrate a special occason or romantic getaway, I can not think of a better place. Great winery at the hotel as well as others in the local area that are a joy to visit.

A must do for a discerning traveler
An all around amazing experience. Service is outstanding. Food is delicious. Accommodations are superb. We could not have asked for more We look forward to a return visit The golf course is fabulous and the golf club a perfect venue for lunch
A one of a kind experience. The setting and property are gorgeous. Elegance, sophistication and tranquility at its finest. The service and the staff were exceptional. Everyone we encountered was wonderful. We took three cooking classes with Erasmo and he was fantastic. The classes were the highlight of our trip.

If you’re looking for a piece of heaven this is it. It is very secluded and the entry road is a steep one but worth the trip. The staff was amazing, above and beyond other resorts.live music in the evening was great. We stayed in a king suite, honestly could not have been more comfortable. We considered day trips but couldn’t leave the infinity pool, golf, and serene setting. Only negative was the golf course was being worked on so very difficult to navigate. I’m sure it will improve as time goes by. It’s essentially a private course with hotel access privileges at a very hefty price.

Amazing place in all respects. Grounds are gorgeous. The staff to a person are so nice and professional. The attention to detail here is quite noticeable. Great tour of the winery there and wine tasting guided by Zack who is wonderful. Wonderful pizza making class with Priscilla who was also wonderful. The food is excellent. The Cannonica less formal restaurant was truly great. If you are a whisky fan like me you will not be disappointed by the very comprehensive whisky list containing whiskies from around the world. The wine list is also amazing. The overall atmosphere here in the public spaces and the pool (there are two) is really nice and relaxing.

We were so impressed during our recent trip to Tuscany with the beauty of the Rosewood Castiliglion Del Bosco, and very importantly, their amazing staff. The rooms are well-maintained, beautiful, and blend in perfectly with the natural beauty of Tuscany. Every amenity is thoughtful and of the highest quality. Our terrace suite, overlooking the miles of splendid hillside and views that go on forever, was appreciated every moment of our stay. The two pools are pristine, with beautiful views, comfortable loungers, and a wonderful casual eating area with thoughtful servers/staff. They also have a small, but relaxing spa, a well-equipped fitness room, and two amazing restaurants (with wonderful regional fare). We also enjoyed the wine tasting at the property's Brunello winery, which happens to produce my husband's favorite wine). Most importantly, without which our stay would not have been so memorable, is their outstanding staff, catering to all of our needs & "wants"! We highly recommend this property.
