We really liked your hotel. It has character and provides comfortable accommodation close to the sights of downtown San Antonio. The staff were friendly and helpful and we felt welcome as visitors to the City. The bar is a very welcome feature and also provides a good quality breakfast.

What a wonderful hotel and great staff! Close to everything from the River Walk, the Alamo, to the Tower of America. We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this hotel. The food was delicious and the staff was fantastic! Joey and Bri especially. Definitely would stay here again.

Great location even though it’s not exactly on the riverwalk it is very close and walkable to restaurants and main plaza. Easy access to riverwalk. Room spacious and clean. The bed was very comfy. Staff was pleasant. Would definitely stay there again!!

Our valet guy Rick Tristan was great. Always had the car ready and helped us retrieve the things we left in the car multiple times. The location of the hotel is great putting you right on the riverwalk which makes for easy access to numerous restaurants and bars.

Absolutely no complains about this hotel. Rooms: Spacious, clean, still up to date. Refrigerator and AC were both cold. Good bed mattresses, but horrible pillows. Facilities: Clean and well kept. Hotel Valet parking is too expensive. Location: Excellent location (IMO). It is a block away from the busiest part of the River Walk, so you will not have to worry about having hundreds or thousands of people outside your hotel if you want to rest after a day in the city. Price: Great value for all of the things listed above. On our next San Antonio visit, we will definitely stay here again.

When I brought this up to the front desk, no one offered any help, apology, or solution. There was zero hospitality or effort to make things right. I didn’t even stay the night—it was that bad. Avoid this place at all costs.

I Always Have The Best Experience Here, Never An Issue or Compliant. The Front Desk Has Excellent Customer Service. And The Kitchen Makes THE BEST Shrimp Cesar Salad EVER!!! I Will Be Booking That 525 Room Presidential Suite Again For Next Month

Cute remodeled mid mod style hotel on the river. Nice mini bar cocktail options in the room. Bed was too stiff and blankets too light but room was cute. Overall, the good experience until check out. We weren’t feeling good and overslept and asked for a late check out. They said no, but instead of being professional and apologizing in saying that they could not accommodate because someone was checking in, she was abrupt and rude and said they will charge for each 30 minutes. I said we would hurry up and get out of the room. 10 minutes later, she called back and said “you will be charged a late fee” and hung up on me. We were out by 11: 35. Went downstairs to see if the late fee could be waived and to find out who called. It was obviously the person at the front desk. I asked if she was the one that called the room and she said no and I asked to speak with a manager and she said she was the front desk manager. I asked who called the room and she said she doesn’t have to give me the name of anyone. She was extremely defensive and nasty. It was obviously her as it was 10 minutes later and she was the only one at the desk. We were understandably upset so the general manager was called. And instead of apologizing and having good customer service, he defended his employee and their policy. I understand the policy, though it’s the harshest implementation I have ever dealt with. Don’t really care about $25 fee. It was worth it as we were late and not feeling well. It’s the poor professionalism and customer service that was the problem. And it obviously comes from or is tolerated at the top level. I have never left a bad hotel review in my life and I am 55 and have traveled the world. I have never been treated so poorly. Hopefully they will get better training or better employees, but we will not be back. Not dropping names online but it was the staff on 4/9/25.

We went to the Gavel. Denise made every cocktail perfectly. We had stuffed mushrooms and fish tacos. The food was great and mushrooms are full portabellas and delicious. Maybe the best I’ve had. Jay was awesome and.attentive. A+ experience.
