The RIU Caribe is largely a great hotel, easy check in, lovely rooms, really clean and the staff are great. I think maybe if you were staying for 2 or 3 nights mid week it would be good. If you’re looking for a quiet holiday to relax by the pool, then this isn’t the hotel for you. We checked in on a Saturday Evening by which point a RIU party was already in full swing. The hotel is spotless, you cannot fault them for that, there is always someone cleaning something somewhere. The food on the whole is good, slightly repetitive after a few days and never worked out what the ‘themed nights where or when’ Room are great, we had a king bed on the top floor with a great view. Which we were very lucky to get, I think if the view was rubbish it would be a much lower rating. That being said is that after about 11am, it is a loud resort. The entertainment team seem to think loud = fun. The only bearable pool to sit by is the volleyball pool if you don’t want have music blasted at you at full volume or to watch Americans of barely drinking legal age (or not in America) playing beer pong, but that’s ok because you can hear them scream WOOO every time they land a shot in almost any part of the resort. One afternoon the security guard was blowing his whistle at a group so much it sounded like we where on a school playing field. What wasn’t made clear was that all of the RIU parties for quite a few of the hotels on the strip are all held at the Caribe, with free shuttles being put on from the hotels. And they’re allowed to use all the facilities in the hotel, which in turn makes it busier. Because the parties are all held at the caribe, they seem to put all their focus on them so the rest of the entertainment is lacking. It all starts way too late and the ‘main act’ is normally only on for half an hour 3 times a week. It’s a shame that all evening entertainment is held inside, in a ‘theatre’ with no sound proofing so is uncomfortably loud (again) we spent most evenings on our balcony playing cards and watching boats. Having stayed at other resorts where the entertainment was outside we watched something every night. But then again their main focus wasn’t on pool parties for other hotel guests. The food was ok to good. It’s a shame that the only proper al a carte restaurant had a very limited menu, with the other two restaurants being either full buffet or half buffet, it never made it feel worth it getting dressed up to go down for dinner at night. Which I think is quite nice when you’re spending so much a night to be there. Beach is lovely and clean, but no bar or toilet so you have to go back to the only toilet outside by the pools. And no parasols available (lots of palm trees) We had 3 rainy days while there, the entertainment staff didn’t do anything to pivot on this and move entertainment inside so it was either volleyball in the rain or loud music slightly quieter because there was a towel over the speaker to stop them getting wet. I’d struggle to say this is a 5* resort. 4* at best with a lot of 2* guests. Overall by far not as relaxing as other holidays we’ve had in Cancun.

We booked through TUI and we stayed 14 nights. Room was on the 8th floor with excellent view on the Caribbean Sea. The cleanliness of the hotel was great. Alcohol available in the room too, tasted very cheap, but bottles always were full. Such an amazing hotel, many sunbeds around swimming pools, lots of alcoholic drinks to choose, never shortage off snacks, drinks or desserts. The pizza’s served at the quiet pool were very tasty. Modern rooms, cleaned every day with good eye to details, very helpful personnel. I could enjoy myself every time I will be there, due to many different entertainment provided by staff, e.g. beach volleyball, polo, table tennis, aerobics, dancing, etc. In addition there was a foam party and beach party once per week. Both of them was great and full of fun! If you like busy and noisy hotel this place is right for you! You never feel bored. The beach near hotel was amazing, never overcrowded. You could see many lizards in there. Staff were excellent, especially the poolside where all the time they were cared about guests and served drinks (special thank you to Ysrael who was funny and very positive guy!). One annoying thing is when group of people is going around and trying to sell a party tickets, bags, necklaces, hats etc. During two weeks of staying there that behaviour makes me very annoying. In hotel is possibility to try couple of different restaurants onsite, only one we didn’t eat at was the Mexican one, as always was busy. I have no complaints about food at all. 24 hours opened Sports Bar was great too! When we are coming back from long party night, always many snacks were available in there, so we never went to sleep hungry! Also we booked a one day trip on Isla Mujeres Ireland with snorkelling included from Scuba Caribe and we really enjoyed ourselves. Guys were really professional and nice. It was fantastic trip and worth to discovered for extremely reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this to everyone! Also we took one excursion from TUI to Chichen Itza - we had experienced guide and provided a very greatly educational history of the Mayans). We have absolutely lovely holiday! We cannot thank the staff enough for an amazing holiday!

Lots of positives about this hotel, Lovely and clean, very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful view of sea. Rooms are great with everything you require and if you need anything extra just ask. However food could be warmer! Think it would be a good idea to be able to book other restaurants as most times you turn up full, also not really alacart as in most it's just another buffet. I feel hotel should be advertised as 18- 30 as this is what it is really geared up for with the parties, other entertainment not up to much, I found it actually very poor. Lobby bar and restaurant very noisy, could do with a quiet chill our bar.

We weren’t really warned about this hotel , even reviews didn’t mention the chaos , the hotel itself is fine , very nice , similar in all ways to the riu Dubai apart from the clientele, Jesus it’s like a club 18-30 resort , very good for people watching , but very loud day and night !!! Its party central , I felt very sorry for an old couple who used to sit on the sunbeds behind us , they didn’t look too happy 🤦🏽♀️ People got that drunk in the day that they’d fetch a wheelchair to take them back to their rooms , one time there was even poo in the lift we presume a drunk had done Don’t get me wrong we like a drink and a good time but ……. It was like I say a very good people watching place , very funny There are a lot of ladies with a lot of body showing , I’ve never seen so many fat backsides ! If you’re younger you’ll love this hotel it’s in a good location , foods good , rooms good , drinks good , plenty to do , Riu party 3 times a week , coco bongo a short taxi ride away , in fact if you buy tickets at the hotel they take you in a minibus then you just get taxi home If you go into town you can call in Riu cancun and have some drinks free I don’t think I’d go back again, not because there’s anything wrong with the hotel but I’d try a different one Oh and we did have hurricane helene Entertainment team were very good and silent disco was brilliant
