The free boat shuttle to the private island, flamingos roaming the shore, hammocks over the water, and the fantastic breakfast buffet and friendly staff all made for an unforgettable experience. A special shoutout to Harold, the navigator who went above and beyond—answering all our questions, helping with dinner reservations, and booking our excursions. His assistance made our trip seamless. Highly recommend!

This is a tough review for me. I liked the hotel, the staff was amazing the rooms are OK. But the private island makes it!! So for check in was quick and I was even offered a upgrade to an ocean view!! I was very excited. I was told the room was not ready but I was OK sitting by the pool. (We were at the adult side.) When we got to the room, just wow. What a view. Everything I wanted....and then. We went to be a little early because we were tired from traveling. We expected a little road noise but it was unbearable. At 1am, the screeching of tires and loud stereo made the room horrible. If you are offered an ocean view, make sure it is away from the road. Great hotel, but for the noise alone, I would have stayed at the family suites across the street.

The Marina Tower was horrible in terms of location to the street and the noise. It was an "ocean" view but was far from what we expected. It was also the weekend of carnival, which we didn't know was a parade starting at 8p and lasting until 3a. Luckily, an angel (Janice) saved us and we moved across the street to the Ocean Suites. If not for her, and Gabriella, I would have no longer been a loyal Bonvoy member. Thank you, Janice!!!

PROS: The private island is definitely the highlight of this property. Cabana rental cost is very high ($600/day) but worth it. Breakfast at Aquarius was good. CONS: Requested early check-in but we did not get our room until an hour after normal check in. The elevators are small and don’t have AC. Our “upgraded” room had a Juliet balcony that overlooks rooftops. The shower was 24” wide. Had to say hello to staff members before they greeted us. The steakhouse pretends to be high-end but it isn’t. The pool is small and overlooks the street below where noise and exhaust fumes make lounging unpleasant. The pool deck furniture is FILTHY!! I can’t believe this is all $900/nt gets you.

We booked a two-night stay and arrived early, but our room wasn’t ready. We left our bags with the hotel and spent the afternoon at Flamingo Island, which was amazing, though the food options were limited. That wasn’t a major issue. When we returned in the late afternoon, we received our room keys, but the assigned room faced the main street, where we could hear loud traffic. The bathroom vent was also full of dust. I went to the reception to express my dissatisfaction. The duty manager, whose name I can’t recall, was lovely and immediately moved us to another room with a slight port view. This room was clean, quiet, and had a comfortable bed, allowing us to get a good night’s sleep. On the 17th, we went out to celebrate and walked around the mall. We first tried Aquarius, but it was overcrowded. Without a reservation, we decided to try the steakhouse. The receptionist, who was very kind, informed us that although the restaurant was full, we could dine at the bar if we didn’t mind. We placed our order and, after waiting, moved to an empty table with the receptionist’s approval. We ordered a ribeye steak, specifically requesting it to be well done. However, when my steak arrived, it was undercooked and still bloody. We pointed this out to the waitress, who nervously took the steak back to the kitchen. After waiting another 15 minutes, we addressed our concern again with the same waitress, but she smirked at us and walked off, clearly overwhelmed that night. When the steak was finally cooked properly, it was already 20 minutes too late. Frustrated, we decided to leave but first spoke to a supervisor to explain what had happened. She was apologetic and tried to make things right, but at that point, we just wanted to go. The next morning, we received a call from the front desk asking if they could do anything to make up for our bad experience. We didn’t want any compensation but wanted to give a heads up to improve customer service and ensure better attention to food orders.

The resort is beautiful. Renaissance Island is absolutely gorgeous!! But - the absolutely fabulous customer sevrice we received from Arlyn Gonzaga made the entire experience spectacular!! My wife and I stayed here for our spring break getaway. The staff was incredibly friendly, the food on site was wonderful, and the location was beautiful. Maya at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and Christopher at the front entrance running the golf cart shuttle was great to chat with! He had tons of recommendations of where to go, and remembered our names for the rest of the trip. Having a shuttle between both buildings was really helpful, and we never had an outrageous wait. Everything was quick and efficient. The only downfall would be that this resort doesn’t have the typical “beachfront property” you think of with open sand for as far as you can see, but the beach it does have is very nice and clean, and is free from the “party scene” of other beaches and the private island has flamingos! With the pool and beach area being smaller both on site and on the island, be sure to grab a shaded chair early in the morning, as they fill up fast! Overall, we really enjoyed our trip and would stay here again!

Our stay at this hotel was a mix of pros and cons. The biggest highlight was the boat that takes guests to Renaissance Island—a beautiful and relaxing escape. You can rent private bungalows in advance, but if you don’t, they still provide free chairs and floaties, which is a nice touch. The hotel’s location is convenient if you enjoy shopping since it’s close to the cruise port, making it a prime spot for tourists. However, that also means a lot of foot traffic and crowds. One downside was the parking situation—there’s no valet service, and finding a spot can be challenging with all the traffic in the area. Our room was spacious, thanks to an upgrade, but unfortunately, it was quite noisy since it was located near the pool. The overall hotel experience was just OK, with the boat ride to the island being the standout feature. If you’re mainly looking for easy access to Renaissance Island, this hotel is worth considering, but otherwise, there may be better options depending on your preferences.

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Ocean Suites and the room was gorgeous and spacious, hotel staff was courteous, and the resort had everything we needed. When we got there, they had a Valentine’s Day cake and some champagne for us. A lot of TikTokers mention staying in the Marina Tower because it’s adults only, but honestly, I think the Ocean Suites is the way to go. Although they’re within a five minute walk of each other, the Ocean Suites actually has a view of the ocean (as the name indicates) while the Marina Tower does not. The rooms are also bigger. Free access to Flamingo Beach was clutch! The beach isn’t too crowded if you go early in the morning (before 9 AM), and the smoothies ($5) are amazing.
