We just returned from our trip and yes, we would stay there again. The property was kept clean, particularly the main dining area. The staff members continually worked to keep the buffet area neat. We want to recognize the following individuals: TJ and Manual at Topez, Andi, Michael and Ann Marie in Activities and Clementina at Cafe 1761. These people exceeded our expectations every day and made our stay pleasurable. Egmund has to be one of the most committed employees at Pineapple Beach Club....always smiling and quick to respond to our request for a to go container for a friend that didn't feel up to going to dinner. We requested a room that would accommodate our traveling companions, who needed to be close due to physical limitations. We stayed in the 400 block near the Turtle pool and our house keeping attendant was thorough and thanked us for the chocolates we left for Valentine's Day. We've been taking winter trips for many years and this year we opted for a relaxed, less crowded property and we are glad we chose PBC. It was hard to go from 85 degrees to 5 degrees when we got back home! We called our trivia team Sexy Seniors......The Activities Team was awesome.

The resort staff were extremely friendly. The pools and areas are well kept. Lots to do during the day. Although i was hoping for more authentic entertainment at night. We were disappointed that they were singing American music and not any Antiguan music. The restaurants all have great food, just wish all things on the menu were available. The pelican snack area did not have sweet potato fries and grilled yellow tail for the full 10 days we were there. It would be nice to have the pool areas open later than 6:30pm. Paying for wifi $24/day) I expected to have good wifi however there were many areas that there was no service such as the fitness area, some pool areas, etc. Wish there was a hot tub on site for chilly nights, etc. the fitness area needs some updating on equipment but overall is ok. The cafe is wonderful! Treats and coffee are yummy! The jewelry store on the property is nice. Decent prices andPhylis is wonderful to deal with. The shop on the property could be a little more reasonably priced. Overall the resort is great and we would definitely go back.

This was our fifth visit to the Pineapple, the last one happened a week before everything was shut down for Covid. A few things have changed, they added the coffee shop which is amazing. Restaurants: The restaurants have been renovated, and the reception area was also improved. You can go over to the Verandah for dinner or a day pass which is a huge plus. We took advantage of this a couple of times since we were there for 14 days. The lobster thermidor is fantastic! We had it 3 times when we were there. The restaurants are good we didn't get tired of them and we were there for 14 days. Nicole at the buffet was always smiling. The lady who madethe omelets was amazing. We ate dinner once off the property at Catherine's Cafe. I highly recommend it. The only issue I had at the restaurants were other guests, some having loud facetime phone calls with people or someone actually playing music on their iphone. In both instances other guests told them to stop. Also sometimes the breakfast buffet service was hit or miss. Once they forgot to come by with water and coffee completely. Beach: The beach is beautiful, it was very windy when we were there but it was still very nice. Any seaweed was cleaned in the morning. Always chairs available. In the past they used to play volleyball at 4:00 and we missed that. Someone used to come around with a volleyball and ask people to play. Rooms; The rooms still need a bit of work. The fact that we paid an extra 400$ for the week for cleaning is ridiculous since they only do it every other day. Sometimes it was done very poorly and we tipped every single time. We were in 213 and the water pressure was like a trickle. One day it didn't work at all and we had to have a shower in the courtesy room. We complained but it was never really fixed. They did give us a dinner at Nicole's for our trouble which was nice. All in all we did have a good time, it's a beautiful place. We also rescued a puppy :) We would like to go back again but it is very expensive. They need to work on the extra charges..

A bit dated but nice and clean. The staff is top notch. The coffee shop is great. The rooms are nice size and clean. The food, so this was a bit Jekyl and Hyde. The first couple days it was good. The last few just ok. The Ala Carte spots are tough to get into. They dont take res. till 48 hours before. They fill up quick. The buffett was good but the same choices every day. Some odd ones. Like Mexican day they had Leg Of Lamb. Where is the Carne asada? We left the property one night for lobster and it was great the next night we paid 40 extra then 15 extra for lobster at the steakhouse. It was not even close to what we had off site. We traveled with a couple that had food allergies. If you are Gluten Free it was tough. I fault the chef for this. You cant serve the same thing over and over. But for an all inclusive the food was good for the most part. Its a low key spot. The gym is good. Pickleball courts are great. The staff is really what makes this place great. They are always there for you. What ever you need. The grounds are beautiful. I really cant say anything negative. As per usual you have the old folk that get up at 4 in the morning to claim there spots but there where always great spots availible.

PBC was a great getaway experience. From wonderful accommodations to great dining options and a fun range of activities, this resort is phenomenal. The staff was incredibly friendly. The layout and offerings on the resort exceeded our expectations. Didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend!!!

Loved how most of the restaurants are open air. Walk up to the outpost for lunch and get a great view of the bay, and great bar-b-q. Staff were all great. Shout out to Jo-anne at the omelet bar. All the food was good, but only great a couple times. The pool bar could use a second bartender during peak times. You can snorkel in the reef on the east end of the beach and it's pretty good. Loved being able to take out the hobbie catamarans. They only opened three days during our week, not sure why.

This was our second visit to the Pineapple Beach Club having vacationed there in March 2024. The improvements to the outside reception area were beautiful and the remodeled Topaz Restaurant was quite impressive. Our room was more than comfortable with its many amenities. Better TV reception would have been nice for the times we did watch. We were there at the time of the AFC and NFC championship games and there were amassed fans in front of the coffee shop and the Acqua Bar trying to watch the games. The Eagles game was streamed from a computer with its constant buffering interruptions. A large screen TV at the large bar would have been welcome. We did notice a major shift in personnel as compared to March 2024; many of the older staff seem to have moved on replaced by much younger individuals who were very respectful and polite, but frankly, untrained; we experienced a number of times where the employee just seemed lost. That is not the fault of the employee but rather management. The real complaint we had was with the food. While breakfast was abundant and delicious, frankly the chefs have difficulty properly preparing a variety of proteins for large groups of people: Servings of fish, while seasoned very well, were dry after sitting in a serving tray. Meats such as roast lamb and roast beef were served well done and again, dry to the point that even gravy couldn't moisten. I found myself sticking to braised dishes as much as possible so as not to be disappointed. Much improvement is needed at the Topaz. I saw a few other apparent cost saving measures which were disappointments: Lesser quality scotch was all that was available at any bar; the Acqua Bar ran out of tonic water early in the week and lemons and limes were unavailable for a number of days. Overall, we once again had a wonderful vacation and Antigua and the PBC are for the most part terrific. There are some areas where management has to pay better attention if they wish to be known as a premier resort.

Taking an early morning flight meant arriving in Antigua & breezing through Customs. Cab ride had 3 couples & after dropping 2 couples at the Verandah, we arrived at our happy place. We noted the lighted Reception sign, the now covered area outside Reception & a covered area with cushioned chairs by the fountain. We checked in & were given 2 card keys & the safe key in block, offered a rum punch or fruit punch, but no cold hand towels. The capable Clinton loaded us into a golf cart, showed us our room, same room we requested. New drapes which somehow had the same problem as the old ones & did not close properly. Gone were the dark pendant lights, replaced by bright globe lights. The 2 beds now had white wood bedframes. Wicker headboard replaced with paneling. Wicker chest of drawers which stuck & squealed whenever opened is replaced by a white wood chest of drawers which opened & closed without protest. On it were a fruit plate, a bottle of Merlot, wine glasses, a welcome card & letter with info on the specialty restaurants & dress code. Above it was the TV with CNN & MSNBC, but no FOX Sports (disappointing for those Eagles fans). The mini-fridge with 2 small bottles of water is now inside a white wood cabinet, the top of which had a kettle & coffee maker. The bathroom was the same with extra towels, toiletries & 2 blue beach towels. The hair dryer did not respond to efforts to resuscitate it & I pronounced it dead at 1830 hrs., reported it to Reception & promptly got another one. Same wobbly toilet. There is an ice machine near the Aqua Bar which had ice water dispenser with a tray of glasses or if you want to refill your water bottles. Chef Pietro's has a new sign & is now enclosed & air-conditioned, with new floors, tables & chairs & a comfy waiting area. Dinner at the Topaz revealed more changes: a new sign, white-painted posts, new tables & chairs, new white floor, big white fans, new remote-controlled screens on 2 sides for windy, rainy days, in white, of course. Gone is the step up to the buffet area, replaced by a slope. Food was good & the drinks helped us go to bed early. Many new staff, but we were happy to see familiar faces & they us. We were up early (like dark early) to decorate our umbrella with lighted pineapples & coconuts. Breakfast at the Topaz is not to be missed. The variety, the smoothies, the egg station with Jo-Ann & her magic spatula. Plus, if it rained overnight, you were rewarded with a rainbow at breakfast. We liberated some bread for the fish. Delanie has moved on, but in her place is the lovely Nicole who got my husband's number right quick. After breakfast, off to Guest Services in the lobby, to make reservations for whatever was open. Guest Services opens at 8:30 a.m. & not a minute sooner & somehow there's already a queue. Gone is the activity chalkboard which is replaced by printed daily activity notices at the Aqua Bar & at the Gift Shop & somewhere else. On to the beach. The yellow towel closet is stocked early. Used beach towels should be placed in the square bins on each side of the beach. Most days there was beach service with the lovely Monique & Kyle. The Aqua Bar is a short stroll away. There are restrooms nearby. The white anchored floating rings were popular. Aside from the beach loungers, there were cabanas on the beach by the Topaz. Seaweed was not a problem when we were there, unlike some years. The Watersports hut was busy with catamaran rides & was in good hands with Bobby & Francesca. We fed the fish at the far end of the beach & met lots of friendly people. If you want to listen to music on the beach, invest in a good pair of earbuds. 'Nuff said. We were lucky to meet Mika, the dog, who escaped from her home up on the hill several times. Then it was time for lunch. Bring a folded beach towel to sit on if your swimsuit is still damp. At lunch at the Topaz, we tell each other we are only having a salad. We had a salad alright & a lot more. We needed dessert like we needed a ruptured appendix. Lunch at the Outhouse (new sign) was fun, especially with the smiling Arleen. There is the "quiet" infinity pool by the Aqua Bar. It also has screens on the walkway side. The main pool is by the main bar & the Pelican Snack Bar where you can get pizza, burgers, hot dogs, fries, wraps, etc... Then there is the Tickled Turtle pool which also has a bar. The coffee shop with the lovely Renee, has coffee (duh), tea & fruit cups, sandwiches, pastries & ice cream. They no longer charge for blended drinks. There is a covered sitting area outside. Nearby is the Gift Shop. I was disappointed to hear that they will no longer have the Pineapple Beach Club caps. Please bring those back. We enjoyed dinner a few times at the Pineapple Grill & caught up with the lovely Delta & met the ginger cat. Same thing with Chef Pietro's with Joyce & Monetta. Most dinners were at the Topaz where we met the tuxedo cat. Throughout our stay, we offered to take photos whenever we saw people taking photos of each other. You could say we were paying it forward, remembering our very first time at PBC decades ago. One day, at the beach, we made a video call to friends in England. Our British friends with us at PBC & those in England all met here years ago & have come back almost every year. This one friend with us proceeded to tell them that he has dementia, but he remembers them & us & Pineapple Beach. I had to look away. It was apparent he felt safe here. Which brings me to the breakfast waitstaff. I observed & noted their kindness to our friend & showed my appreciation in a tangible & generous way. If or when I get dementia, I hope my memories of Pineapple Beach will be among the last ones to fade away. As always, we are grateful to Sanjay & Amber for making good things happen.

We stayed at Pineapple Beach Club for 6 nights 15-21st January and where do I start! From the minute we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and instantly started to relax in this beautiful place. Our room wasn't quite ready so we headed off for lunch & drinks and were whisked off to our gorgeous ocean view room (block 700) later that afternoon. Thank you to the amazing staff at reception for surprising us with a bottle of fizz for my 40th birthday and allocating us such a wonderful room! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially lunchtime walks up to the Outhouse for the best BBQ ribs and the stunning views. The food at Topaz suited us for breakfast & dinner and offered a great selection during our stay (we didn't try the specialty restaurants). The highlight for me was the Friday night beach BBQ, a fantastic experience! The effort that goes into setting this up must be huge. We also enjoyed Pelican snack bar, the burgers were great. The coffee shop was also a lovely addition, look out for Ginger the cat. During our stay we took a trip through Bo Tours with the Pink Panther crew- if you can tear yourself away from the beach- we would highly recommend the half day tour (Devils Bridge, Betty's Hope, Shirley Heights, English Harbour + Nelson's Dockyard and Pigeon Point Beach). A great way to see some of the highlights of the island if you're shorter on time as we were. Remember to take extra cash or credit card for the entrance fee into Nelson's Dockyard (which includes entry to Shirley Heights) which was $15US. In all we absolutely loved our stay in paradise and were very sad to leave. The resort has a really laid back atmosphere with a genuine, authentic feel, please don't change! Thank you to all the staff at Pineapple Beach Club, you made our stay unforgettable, we will be back!!

Great Vacation in Antigua My partner and I recently returned from 2 weeks in Antigua. Our first week was spent at the pineapple beach club in Dickinson Bay. We stayed in an ocean view room on the third floor in one of the three buildings on the hill. The room was beautiful and the ocean view was amazing. To get down to the pool level was 72 stairs with walking in between. We didn’t mind the walk, but for anyone with mobility issues that would be a problem. The food and entertainment was very good. It is a small resort and extremely laid-back. You never felt crowded and guests were very friendly and mingled with each other The highlight of this resort was the spectacular beach. The only downfall was beach service was nonexistent. In seven days we saw a server on the beach only once or twice.

This was a beautifully kept resort with some exceptional staff. We had oceanview room in the 700 building. View was incredible and grounds had beautiful lush vegetation. Alot of stairs in the 600,700 800 and 900 buildings, not suitable for limited mobility guests unless you request golfcart service which was available but would recommend discussing with hotel. Room was recently refurbished and was spacious and clean except floors looked dirty or black with grout and paint spilled everywhere or not cleaned properly. We had king bed and was comfortable .Water pressure and temperature were always great as well as toilets and air conditioning always worked. Please note maid service is every other day and they do not provide drinks in the mini fridge. They do not provide free water bottles but there are water dispensers and cups at all the bars. Coffee shop amazing, ice coffee and hot specialty coffee and treats and snacks available there. Renee and gentleman working there always exceptional service. Beach and water was wavy but beautiful and swimmable everyday despite red flag. Pools beautiful but we prefer beach. Food always amazing in every location, exceptional staff like Stacey Ann, Tricia and Joyce in the Topaz, I could not remember all names but many great staff. Entertainment each night was ok, steel drum band and beach bbq night was amazing! This is a resort with an older crowd so laidback and not rowdy with loud music etc. When we were there. Wonderful peaceful vacation. Biggest complaint is such a steep resort fee and tourism levy that really adds up. Would recommend this resort but the fee is a deterrent to coming back.

Absolutely wonderful vacation! We loved the quaint atmosphere of the resort. Everything was close by, there were always a lot of chairs at the beach or pool, the staff was friendly, and the entire resort was so clean! Even though the rooms could use an update, they were incredibly clean and well appointed. We stayed in an ocean view room and the view was gorgeous! All food options were excellent, the drinks were delicious, and the coffee shop was a treat throughout the day. The evening entertainment was great as well. My husband and I wanted a relaxed and easy vacation at a clean and cozy resort - this was beyond perfect! We highly recommend Pineapple Beach Resort if you are looking for a laid back and relaxing vacation. The only reason for the 4 star is the rooms (particularly the bathroom) need an update!

We were at Pineapple Beach Club for out honeymoon. We booked a beach front room and ended up right next to the ocean in a brand spanking new room. It was beautiful! The employees were amazing, Tricia and Oquenya (spelling?) were always so cheerful!! We only went to one A La Carte at the Italian restaurant and it was delicious!! The BEACH is out of this world, we booked a trip to Shirley Heights with GMan, his office is on the beach, he’s the guy if you want to know something or plan something to do. There is also a barbecue snack place called The Outhouse on the property that is also amazing, the views anywhere on this Island are amazing. The resort was always clean, the only thing lacking was bottles of water so we just kept refilling the small bottles they gave us our first day, there self serve are refill stations at both bars. Next time I’ll take my big 40oz water bottle to fill. The resort itself is beautiful and the beach is what made our stay unforgettable.

We arrived on New Year’s Eve.. lovely welcome at reception and taken to our room (Tropical Waterfront) . Fantastic views over the bay, beach and resort ❤️. All food is excellent, staff are helpful and there is a relaxed Vibe throughout the resort. Really enjoyed the Coffee shop, Pineapple Grill and all the bars. The outhouse a bbq grill set in the hills above the bay is worth the short walk spotting Hummingbirds and other wildlife on the way. This resort is situated in a windier spot which is great as there was always a cooling breeze. One side of the beach is more sheltered and perfect for snorkelling even for novices. Saw lots of amazing fish ❤️. Tour desk at the resort is great for booking extra activities at a cost, which were well worth it.We did Shirley Heights which was fab seeing the steal band and sampling the local rum punch which packs a punch 🤪 sun set and views were beautiful. Eco tour was nice and sting ray city was a fantastic experience, they pick you up from the beach 🏝️.Made so many friends and this is down to the relaxed atmosphere where everyone seems to want to chat and swap stories… Mostly UK USA and Canadians. Gardens and beach are stunning. If you look carefully you may spot a froggy or two that sing like squeaky doors in the evening 😂 lots of lovely little lizards to spot also. We will be back Rich & Hayley ❤️❤️

From check in to check out my husband and I had fantastic time at the adults only PBC and would 100% return. Staff throughout the hotel all offered excellent customer service during our stay & the Sly Monngoose Bar staff in the evenings were the best, remembering our drinks order....

From check in to check out my husband and I had fantastic time at the adults only PBC and would 100% return. Staff throughout the hotel all offered excellent customer service during our stay & the Sly Monngoose Bar staff in the evenings were the best, remembering our drinks order. We ate in all the restaurants on site except for The Outhouse and didn't go hungry, there is plenty of choice in the buffet at breakfast & dinner, lunch is more limited but you do have the option to eat at the Pelican snack bar or Outhouse then too. Dinner at Chef Pietro's, Pineapple Grill and The Orchid are all a la carte & can be booked at the guest services desk 2 days before from 8.30 am onwards, we never had a problem getting reservations during our 10 day stay and the food was delicious. I would say though that the upcharge of 40 usd per person for The Orchid restaurant is not really worth it as the food was just as good in the other 2 restaurants. The lobster though is definitely worth paying extra for! We stayed in a gardenview room and although the decor could do with a refresh it was in a perfect location and the grounds are beautiful, depending on which gardenview room you are in, you may get a view of the beach too from your balcony, we stayed in room 135 and did. Our only complaint would be that we were ground floor and if you have noisy people above you can hear them so next time we would request a 1st floor room. Rooms are cleaned every other day but if you need anything in between the hotel staff are quick to respond, the hairdryer in our room broke whilst we were there and it was fixed straight away. We had plenty of hangers in the wardrobe and a safety deposit s provided. On arrival we also received 2 bottles of water but I would recommend taking your own water bottles which you can then refill from any of the water machines at the bars, the water is safe to drink as is filtered. The hotel has 3 pools & we never had a problem finding loungers no matter what time of day although not always with shade. Pool towels were in our room upon arrival & clean ones are available from the towel huts in the mornings, our top tip would be keep hold of your towels until you're ready for clean ones and switch at the same time as depending on of you're an early riser or not the clean towels do tend to have been snapped up by 10 am. The beach at PBC is beautiful, not overcrowded like some on the West Coast and no sargassum during our stay. Non motorised waterspouts are included in the all inclusive and we also did the Calypso Cat 4 hr catamaran trip which departs from PBC's sister hotel The Verandah just across the road which was good fun. We hired a car from Bigs Car Rental for 3 days and it was a great way to see the island on our own time frame taking in some of Antigua's beaches and tourist attractions but if you don't want to drive there are plenty of executions offered by the hotel although this does work out more expensive than hiring a car and doing it yourself. We walked to Devil's Bridge from the hotel, it's only a 15 min walk and worth a visit and we also did the excursion to Shirley Heights. We went to Shirley Heights on a Thur night which is quieter than a Sunday but still busy. The queues do get very long at Shirley Heights for drinks so I would suggest buying a bucket of beer/multiple drinks on arrival save keep queing. We didn't eat as you're back at the hotel in time for dinner but the food did look good Entertainment at the hotel is offered during the day with aqua aerobics, bingo, games on the beach, cooking classes etc so you can do as little or as much as you like and the evening entertainment was mainly live music, djs or karaoke. They do have a white night on a Wed in the gardens and a Carnival night on a Friday. We didn't use the spa so can't commit on this. We also didn't venture over to The Verandah hotel either but you can get free day pass/evening pass for there too from guest relations. I had originally booked to stay at The Hawksbill but changed our reservation to PBC as felt it had more to offer & was so glad we did. I'm also really pleaded we didn't stay in the Dickinson Bay, Deep Bay or Jolly Beach areas as the beaches were so busy with loungers positioned so close together and people packed in like sardines that there was nothing relaxing about it. There is an additional tax & resort fee to pay at this hotel upon departure which equates to 34 usd per night for 2 people (24 usd per room per night resort fee + 5 usd per person per night) so take this into consideration when booking but you should me made aware of this when booking anyway and it is clearly stated on the hotels website and it wouldn't put us off staying here again, infact we'd be happy to.

Fantastic location and very laid back. My partners best ever holiday. Cannot wait to go back. The staff were very friendly and fantastic right from our arrival to the time we left. Especially the lady who did the omelletes at breakfast time. Always friendly and smiling in the morning. And the bar staff so efficient and friendly. And the coffee shop staff. Also a shout out to Marvellous Marvin and the G Man on the beach who arranged a fantastic tour of the island with one of their drivers, Odane (the herbalist). The food at the hotel was good, especially the ribs and chicken and the Outhouse, which was a great bonus. The beach very clean and beautiful to swim in. Next time I go I hope to use the facilities over at its sister hotel The Verandah as well. I did have a look over there. If you are looking for a more lively hotel, this would suit you. And its modern, but it hasn't got our lovely beach! We had an Ocean View room. I loved that our hotel was very laid back and not a big hotel.

We just came back from a week at Pineapple with most of our trip being perfect with the exception of some things that left us disappointed. On arrival we waited in reception with other newcomers and thought this “hello” was very efficient and welcoming with a rum punch on hand. Unfortunately after receiving our keys we were left to figure out where to find our rooms and hauling our luggage all across the resort. Thankfully we were on a main floor waterfront room as no one offered any assistance. The waterfront rooms are perfectly positioned in the resort with beautiful views. By next season they will be fully renovated and this is much needed. Our doors didn’t open/close properly, toilet issues, no hot water and only 3 desk drawers for clothing. We didn’t unpack our suitcase. The room is nicely decorated, with a large comfortable king bed and nice toiletries and was very clean. We were given a “special” dinner invitation thanking us for being repeat guests (this is our 3rd time booking with Elite) to Pineapple Grill and when we showed up they said the dinner was cancelled and changed to a resort wine night in the garden. Turns out we weren’t special guests at all but rather nicely dressed with no reservation…After some time the host felt bad for us and gave us a table but this left a bad taste. The dinner was excellent and we also had an excellent meal at Chef Pietro’s. The remaining nights we really enjoyed the white garden party and bbq street party. They decorated the grounds beautifully. All food at the buffet was excellent as well. The beach is amazing and the snorkeling is under-rated. We saw an octopus! This was the best snorkeling of all the places we went to, including a snorkeling excursion. We never had an issue finding chairs although sometimes you have to pull together some singles here and there. Small amounts of sargassum on a few wavy days that did not deter from swimming or enjoyment. Wish they had some beach VB going. The nightly entertainment was excellent with a combination of DJ’s, bands, karaoke. Lots of lounge space for seating and it felt like the whole resort hung out each night. We booked the Calypso Cat and the Mystic - land and sea. Good vibe on the Calypso but the snoring at Great Bird Island was non-existent. Very cloudy and no fish at all. Fun on the beach with turtles. Excellent lunch. Without any notice and 1/2 hr after waiting for a pick up on the Mystic Cruise we were told to see the tour desk who said the Jeep broke down. There was no apology or compensation for this. We had a great experience with them when booking so this was a real let down in how they addressed this. When we checked out we weren’t asked about our stay at all. Some misses here that dampened our otherwise amazing week. Highly recommend the hike to Devil’s Bridge, Pickleball, the Outbouse, the hike to Rendezvous Bay Beach which is stunning and the ziplining.

My husband flew out of Toronto, Canada to spend a week at PBC in March 2025. We were looking for a quiet, laid back vacation on a beautiful beach and we got exactly that. Overall Impression: This is a smaller, intimate, and somewhat quiet resort located on a lovely beach. The pace was very laid back during the day, with a few activities scattered about for those who were interested. During the evenings, it was quiet and relaxing, sometimes with live music for entertainment. The clientele was mainly couples and older adults in the 40+ crowd. If you are looking to get stupid drunk, have wild parties, listen to booming music all day long, and stay up all night, this is not the place for you. What we Loved: This resort is small and compact, making it easy to get around. With under 200 rooms, it never felt crowded. The garden area was lush and beautiful, there were hammocks for relaxing in, a great little coffee shop and a beautiful little beach for relaxing on. Activities were posted daily by the bar for those who were interested in taking part. Nobody will chase you down and make you do them; show up if you want to join in. We loved that we were just able to enjoy our vacation at our own pace without interruptions or loud music blasting all day long. We enjoyed visiting the tortoises in the tortoise sanctuary each day, and visiting with the resort cats who became our friends over the week. The "ocean hammocks" were a big hit even with my husband who can't swim, and we spent many happy afternoons lounging on them with a cold drink. I think that was the best part of my week. The atmosphere at PBC felt almost as if we had been transported back in time, to a simpler way of life. We enjoyed and needed this very much! Our Room: We had a gardenview room (201) on the end of one of the blocks on a main floor. We had a private patio which was lovely for relaxing on in the evening. Our room was literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. Overall the room was functional and clean, but not fancy. The AC was strong, water pressure and temperature always good, and everything worked well, including our mini fridge. We found the pillows comfortable, and the bed ok. After a full day in the sun, we slept well. The Food: We are not big foodies, and don't travel for the fine dining. We ate daily at the buffet, as opposed to a la carte, and although we found the food repetitive, we did not go hungry. My husband enjoyed the smoothies at breakfast, while I indulged daily in roasted potatoes, eggs and bacon. For lunch and dinner, we had a variety of chicken & rice, with fresh fruits and veggies. I have food allergies, so stayed away from some of the more interesting choices. Our favourite lunch took place at the Outhouse where we enjoyed a feast of chicken and ribs with a great view. Drink: The rum punch is strong. Be warned. After two of those, I was ready for bed! I became a fan of coconut rum & pineapple juice and breakfast mimosas. My husband brought his own Clamato Juice from home and mixed his own Ceasars or drank beer. They were always happy to pour him a triple vodka on the rocks for his mixing purposes. Service was always done with a smile, and we tipped accordingly. We did not expect, nor request top shelf liquor, and we drank what they poured. The Beach: Small, but lovely! There were enough palm trees for shade, and it never felt crowded. As an early riser, I was up before the sun on my chair relaxing, but most days I observed many chairs still free as late as 9:30 or 10:00 a.m. The ocean was calm 5 days out of 7 and great for swimming. Very minimal seaweed, except for one day, and they had it cleared away quickly. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere and enjoyed many beach naps most days. On one day, the beach did seem to become overrun with loud, obnoxious party goers, some yelling and screaming and blasting music from portable speakers. Thankfully, this was not the norm during our stay, and we were happy when the beach returned to peacefulness the following day. (We assume perhaps they were there on a day pass or visiting from another resort.) Entertainment: We enjoyed taking part in a few of the relaxed activities such as cornhole toss and bocce ball. I did the Tye dye t-shirt making and Aloe Vera demonstration one afternoon, and took part in the mini carnaval on the Friday night. A lot of fun! We very much enjoyed the Steel Drum band who performed one evening. This was a nice treat that we are not able to experience at home, and helped us feel as though we were on island time. Most other nights we turned in early after a full day in the sun. If you are looking for Vegas style theme shows every night, you will not find it here. However, as we were there to relax and unwind, not to be constantly kept busy, this was a plus in our opinion. Excursions: Thanks to Marvellous Marvin and G-Man on the beach for setting us up to visit Shirley Heights and swimming with the sea turtles. Two down to earth, friendly fellows who will do right by you. They can be counted on to provide reliable and safe excursions. We loved both of our choices! Marvin was also able to set me up with Louise next door at the Vendors Mall to have my hair braided. Thank you! Staff: Everyone was friendly and greeted us with a smile. I wish we had paid more attention to everyone's names, as there were so many who stood out as special and welcoming to us. Anne Marie, Andijah, Shery Ann, Omar, Devante.....just a few I can remember, as well as a few lovely bartenders at the Aqua Bar & Sly Mongoose bar, our servers at the buffet, and the coffee shop ladies who took good care of us all week long. Thank you to everyone for making us feel at home! Cats: As in most Caribbean locations, the resort employs a few cats who could be found wandering the property. We were so pleased to know these cats are not "abandoned" but are instead taken care of by the resort. We did bring them food from home, and made sure they got a breakfast and dinner on our porch each evening. They enjoyed visiting us on our beach chairs before sunrise. We felt blessed that "Ginger", the cafe kitty, adopted us and joined us for our final night. She slept warm and safe all night on our bed and was an absolute sweetheart. Sad to leave them, we made a donation to the Antigua Spay & Neuter clinic in support of the work they do for the animals on the island. Special Extras: A few events were planned that took an immense amount of work by the staff to set up. The Garden Party & Carnival Night, where the entire buffet was moved outdoors for dining were simply amazing. I watched a lovely gentleman (whose name escapes me) single-handedly string all the lights overhead between the palms in the hot sun, not once, but twice, during out stay. This was a lot of work! Every single table and chair was removed from the buffet restaurant for these occasions, the cooking stations relocated outside, and all the food set up beautifully. We adored these two evenings and wish to thank the staff for all of the work that went into these nights. They were a very special part of our vacation and added a nice touch. Overall: We were very happy with our stay, and would definitely return. The vibe was perfect for a relaxing getaway, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and away from winter in Canada. My husband has requested I book again for next year. Hope to see you again soon!
