Pelican Reef Villas Resort

Really enjoyed stay at Pelican Reef. All staff friendly, professional and helpful. Rooms were spacious and well kept. Food and service at bar was very good. Would like to see a little more seating at pool. I would very much recommend Pelican Reef.

This was our 7th stay on Ambergris and for the last 4 years we’ve stayed at Pelican Reef Villas. The people are so friendly there and Tristan and Mildred take care of everything from domestic airline reservations, shuttle to/from airport, booking tours & making dinner reservations. Restaurant/bar on site is great…and Enrique makes the best coconut mojitos on the island. The rooms are very nicely appointed and have full kitchens and washer/dryer which is handy.

What a beautiful 10 days we had at Pelican Reef. The view in the picture is what we saw off the balconies. Impeccably maintained and with a perfect, delightful and professional staff. We went with no agenda at all and found answers to all of our inquiries and our every interest was smoothly arranged. Next time I'll have a cart waiting when we arrive. And San Pedro is classic. Good food, interesting people and shops, good rhythms. How many days in a row can you eat grilled lobster an hour out of the sea?

We recently returned from a week in San Pedro. We stayed in a 2 bedroom beachfront unit. The unit and grounds were very beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Every employee was upbeat and always greeted us with a smile. I cannot say enough good things about two employees that work in the office, Tristan and Mildred went above and beyond to assist us when needed. They assisted us with moving around excursions and calling around to various companies to get us to the places we wanted to go while in Belize. I lost my phone while there and they called the place we had been the night before in an attempt to help us locate it. They both always had a genuibe smile and were eager to help us when needed. Pelican Reef is very lucky to have them both on staff. I would not hesitate to return for another stay. I highly recommend this resort.

We planned a stay for 7 days. Ahead of time we were in communication with the team to organize our excursions. Once we arrived we were greeted by Mildred who was an absolute gem. She was kind and professional. We had a large group of 12 and she handled us with ease. Rooms were clean, beds were extremely comfortable. You get a free breakfast every morning which was delicious! They don't skimp just because it's free. We ordered food from the bar a few other times and it's very convenient because you can charge it to the room. No stress of having to run and get money. Pier was beautiful and it had plenty of seating. The companies they use for excursions were the best around. Not a single hiccup. We also decided last minute to get massages on the beach and Mildred arranged them within a few hours. Excellent experience overall!

The staff at Pelican Reef Villas were attentive, friendly, and very interested in making sure our trip was perfect. The accommodations were very comfortable and the grounds were lovely. The breakfast and bar options available on-site were very fresh and tasty. The staff were eager to help, always there with excellent restaurant and activity suggestions. They helped with arrangements, such as making dinner reservations and giving directions. Dinner at the Black Orchid and Victoria House were our two favorites, and the YOLO snorkeling trip was really fun. San Pedro and Pelican Reef Villas provided one of the best travel experiences we've had—well above and beyond our expectations.

We spent a week in this small villa resort - one of the best places we have enjoyed in our travels. It is NOT the huge crowded resort - it's exactly what you want to be able to enjoy a little "island life." The staff are all so friendly and FUN to be around. The food was excellent and plentiful. So are the drinks! Our spacious villa was well-appointed, and being a two-bedroom, it could accommodate two couples very comfortably. The whole experience, from initial booking to final goodbyes was everything you want in a vacation! We will cherish the memories of the many staff members we encountered who effortlessly worked to ensure their guests had a great experience! Even Francisco and Pancho, the resident iguanas, would make an appearance from time to time. Highly recommend - looking forward to our next visit!

The resort was lovely and the staff amazing. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful, especially Tristan. Breakfast was included and while good, choices limited. Some bakery goods would be a nice addition. I would definitely recommend Pelican Reef you won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful, right size (medium-small), friendly, beach-side hotel. Easy to book flights from Belize City, tours and the requisite golf cart for transportation on the island, especially the first few minutes to town as it is not paved. It was however worth it to be a bit away from down-town of San Pedro Easy, short (15 minute) boat rides to reefs, include Hol Chan Marine Reserve. But snorkeling at their pier is great, albeit constrained by the other boats going past to the reserve. Birds are actively catching fish, as we saw terns, pelicans (of course) and ospreys fishing. Staff is attentive and very knowledgeable. Despite breakfast and coffee being included are good, and lunch is also excellent. Staff didn't hesitate to give great and varied recommendations for food elsewhere. We are planning to return!

Condo was great. Beautiful view right on the beachfront. Fully furnished and equipped with everything needed. Bed was very comfortable and had great pillows. Would highly recommend.
