We stopped by Oil Nut Bay for lunch at Nova restaurant while on a boat charter (with Chillout Charters - highly recommend). It was our first time, and it did not disappoint. Food, drinks and staff were great, and the atmosphere and waterfront saltwater pool was great for an after lunch dip. Would love to return to stay in the hotel at some point, based on the quality of the food and service we got at lunch.

We sailed into our mooring at Saba Rock and wanted to try the new restaurant at Oil Nut Bay. We were not disappointed. The staff was great from the moment we arrived. Our server, Maideline, was attentive and knowledgable and went above and beyond in all regards. In our party we had a spicy tuna sushi hors d'oeuvre, the fresh bread with awesome black olive tapenade and came with abundant roasted garlic. We also had the spicy edamame which was as good as any we've ever tasted. For dinner some of us had the diver scallops which were beautifully presented on risotto and cooked perfectly. A friend had the red snapper fish of the day on roasted asparagus which was also very well prepared. All in all, we had a great experience. Final note, if you are moored at Saba Rock and don't want to deal with the tourismo aspects of Saba Rock, reserve at Oil Nut Bay and ask if they can send a boat to shuttle you around the point (about 1.5 miles away), and they will whisk you there and back.

Yes, it is expensive, but if you want that once in a lifetime experience for your honeymoon or anniversary , I can’t imagine a resort more beautiful, private and top notch! We stayed in the lower Cliff Suites and it was everything you could ask for.

Booked 8 days Oil Nut Bay in Penthouse Suite Room to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The room was beautiful but felt like an AIRBNB and not a resort with a freezing cold heated pool. Service non-existent other than cleaning room once a day. You are trapped on an island and need a boat and taxis to eat anywhere else. The food at the two restaurants was inedible. Everything was frozen including the fish and lobster even though it’s surrounded by water. The place seemed abandoned with very few guests. My wife ordered lobster one night for dinner and was still frozen inside. She asked for drawn butter and was given a stick of butter. See photo. That’s the level of service to expect. One night we ordered a salad that had nuts in it that were rancid. Was told all the staff and chef recently left the resort because the way they were treated. My wife ended up vomiting all night after eating the lobster. My wife called front desk manager Anica the following day and told them what happened and that we wanted to leave and go to a real resort Little Dix Bay and explained the issues we had and we could not stay and eat their food any longer and wanted to enjoy our 30th anniversary. They refused to refund our room that was paid in full in advance for the unused nights. If they can’t feed their guests and provide service they should not steal their money. After returning home, I sent an email to Kinga the guest services manager with the issues that we already had told Anica requesting a refund for the unused nights and never even received an apology or response. It’s a shame that this beautiful island can not provide the proper level of service or respect for its guests. If you want to go to BVI stay at a real resort with great service and great food and not this deserted island with inedible food.

Oil Nut Bay is an exceptionally well planned owner/renter community, located beyond Saba Rock of the north sound of Virgin Gorda, BVI. As gorgeous a beach as can be found, with breathtaking views. This was our 4th land stay, after finding the facility by catamaran some years ago. Our preference is to rent one of the original Cliff Suites on the backside of the complex. They have everything a couple needs to enjoy an escape from the world, with each other. And when you're ready to rejoin community, perhaps for a meal, snorkel, larger pool or beach swim... your options are a short Golf Cart drive away. Both the Marina and Resort restaurants serve high quality meals. The pavilion was recently converted into a Tapas bar, serving exceptional selections. Do not skip weekend brunch at Nova in the marina. Cliff Suites do not have kitchens. We travel with microwave oatmeal packs and order provisions placed in our room, for a slow morning breakfast. Room service is always an option. The resort ferry is always available to shuttle you to the north sound for more public restaurants, often used by yachters. This is "not" your children's party beach, nor should it ever be. Bring some reading, some private music, and of course... your significant other. This is is not your cheapest vacation either. Quality requires an investment. My wife and I are "explorers"... yet, we've stayed at ONB four times. That should give you an idea how we feel about the place.
