Ocean cliff hotel made my birthday week a 10/10 experience the staff were lovely, the property and rooms clean, the food was very authentic Jamaican cuisine. Everything I could ask for!
You can eat at the restaurant or by the pool or on the lounge chairs and just watch the ocean and relax. People who don’t stay at the resort will come eat there so you know it’s good!
Unlike big resorts you don’t have to wake up early and reserve a lounge chair.
If you’re a big espresso drinker there is a coffee shop 2 min walk away that offers almond milk lattes!
We had a candlelit dinner by the beach and chose the Jamaican items on the menu for a 4 course meal and it was soooo good! Everyone kept recommending Ivan’s for our special dinner but I enjoyed my meal hosted here more! Ivan’s does have a great view worth it to go once or twice during your trip.
Tips
Bring bug spray for mosquitos!!!
If you’re particular about a bottle of wine or champagne buy duty free at your departing airport although the cocktails at resort are great
Bring cash for taxi drivers, like 15-40$ usd per round trip outing. Negril is not really walkable.
Bring ear plugs there is a bar nearby that can be loud at night

I rate this resort as a 5 out of 5 stars. My wife chose this resort as a result of the MANY 5 star ratings. We experienced exceptional customer service and interaction with the entire staff; property manager included. We had many drinks at the poolside bar and also took advantage of the chef cooking experience ( ya just gotta) The pool was quickly cleaned after a rainstorm, The poolside bar was well stocked and perfectly staffed, the grounds were impeccable, and cleaning serve was timely & pleasant. This is one of the few places we will come back to in our travels!

It's unbelievable that such a small property pack so much in. Having experience many large and small luxury properties this little gem 💎 has me converted. Where to start? From the amazing staff and Manager to the AMAZING FOOD!!! Heres my overview:
Check-in
It says alot when you enter a property and feel at home from the security greeting to your check in to getting to your suite.
Suites
These have to be some of the sexiest little cottages ever and the quality of the linen, bed rivals many 5 star properties very comfy! Always ready hot water with great pressure, Cleanliness of the rooms and property is very high (It says ALOT when you see the GM fixing poolside chairs and picking up trash) kudos. The housekeeping ladies are like little magicians in and out leaving the suites clean and fresh and always with a pleasant smile.
The Property
Though small it is perfect!!! From the salt water pool overlooking the sea, to the small private beach, sun deck with loungers and shades you never feel crowded. One of the most amazing things about this location is the view of the sunset!!! From your patio the Sun sets perfectly
The FOOD!!!!
Now this is a true stand out!!! And a best kept secret in Negril...Always freshly done, 1 of the best local breakfast ever spent 6 days and was never tired of it! Must try the Jamaican platter for dinner!! Simply amazing 👏 and it's made better by that amazing wait staff.
Overall
This little Gem is excellent quality for the price point and truly a rising star on the already exclusive boutique hotels packed West End, look out guys she's here and a strong contender. Looking forward to trip number 3 to this little gem.

This resort is lovely, clean, great staff, great mattresses and linens, with good restaurant food. This resort does have it some shortcomings; the main one being the resort is very close to the road, and depending on the unit you book it can be very noisy.
I would not book the bridal suit or the upper units because your sleep will be interrupted from car traffic, loud music, and motorcycles that have no mufflers. When booking we wanted the seaside cottages but they were booked so we booked the Bridal Suite. The Bridal Suite had the following shortcomings: there is no ocean view, the unit is above the admin building and not close to the ocean at all, the balcony railing is made of concert so there is no view, and the limited view is obstructed by the palm tree in front of the balcony. It is a nice suite but for the extra cost is not worth it. After two nights we moved to a seaside cottage, as one was open. The seaside cottages are lovely. I would not recommend staying at this resort for anything longer than 1 week.
Even though we down graded to the Seaside Cottage, the resort would not adjust the pricing or provide anything to make up the cost difference. The other issue we had was bug bites. As a higher end resort, you would think there would be maintenance plan to control bugs that bite. I got sever bug bites in the Bridal Suite sitting on the leather sofa there. So I would suggest don't sit on the sofa.
The pricing on any of the travel platforms, do not include the 10% government tax, and the 10% gratuity tax which is automatically add to any charges in Jamaica. All charges are in US dollars, even though you are in Jamaica that has their own currency. I also don’t recommend booking through any travel platforms and email direct to the resort to get a better deal after comparing pricing on these travel platforms. These travel platforms don’t offer the best deal. Email direct to reservations@oceancliffhotel.com, or phone +1-876-640-0070.

I LOVED my stay at Ocean Cliff! This is a must visit once you’re in Jamaica. We stayed in the seaside cottage during our visit. The atmosphere is so calm and relaxing, the room is spacious, the drinks are absolutely top tier, the food is delicious BUT WHAT SOLD IT FOR ME WAS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Upon arrival, you’re greeted by welcome drinks and for the rest of the stay you’re called by name. This adds a different level of familiarity and love to the experience. Every single one of the staff members are so genuinely kind and helpful! I have never had an experience like that at any hotel!

I can't say enough about our stay at Ocean Cliff. The pictures are a perfect representation of the hotel. With only 18 cottages it is much more intimate than the larger places on 7 mile beach and from what I saw a nicer location than the options on the cliffs of Negril. The snorkeling right off the wall was amazing, lots of fish, eel, stingray and even one octopus. Also opportunities for small cliff jumping with the attentive view of lifeguards close by. We had the candlelight dinner and Novada made it special with amazing food. All of the other meals at the Blue Mahoe were also fantastic, Janae, Allison, Vanasa and Shanaka were friendly and offered great recommendations. Bartenders Garcia and Ricardo created both a fun environment and awesome drinks. We stayed in a rooftop cottage and enjoyed the views of the ocean from the large balcony.

We would recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Negril. When deciding where we would stay, we looked at places along Seven Mile Beach, but they didn't seem right to us. Now that we were there and walked around the beach, we are so glad we made our choice to stay at the OC. The grounds are clean and the people that work there are pleasant and greet you regularly. The restaurant was great (see my review of the Blue Mahoe) and it was very convenient to be part of the hotel. The swimming pool was filled with salt water. We would recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Negril.

Wonderful oceanfront property, intimate and exclusive, with a peaceful and unhurried atmosphere. Very much a ‘small and charming’ boutique hotel that feels more like a private residence or club. Stayed for *3 weeks* and just loved the place, booking our return before we left, a recommendation in itself!
It is sometimes difficult to put a finger on exactly why a place makes one so happy, but the mesmerising ocean views, stunning sunsets, and delightful welcoming staff must take centre stage here, along with its excellent little terrace bar and restaurant Blue Mahoe.
Beautifully designed curving stone seawalls frame the spacious pool and restaurant terraces that run the length of the property, enclosing 20 comfortable seaside cottages set in lush planting, and an elegant open-air spa. The crisp traditional materials, with a contemporary feel, continue across the compact and very well-maintained site, with curving high boundary walls screening it from the winding coast road.
A great base from which to explore the west of Jamaica, the hotel tailors trips and drivers to suit their clients.

This place was amazing!! The staff were so nice and helpful, the beds and pillows super comfy, the pool, lounge chairs etc….we really enjoyed our time here. It was so peaceful and you never had to fight for a chair to sit in the sun. We had a seaside room and loved it! The restaurant was fantastic. Try the jerk chicken Alfredo! Snorkeling off the cliffs was fabulous! The beach was peaceful and the sand was great although it was pretty rocky in the water so bring water shoes! The route taxis in Negril are super easy to use. Go further up in west end and try Kool vibes! The lobster and jerk chicken are to die for. An amazing, romantic trip with my husband.

We really enjoyed our stay at OC! Nice stonework architecture all over the grounds, and super nice staff. The saltwater pool is built facing the sea, with lounges on a sand patio facing the water. We loved walking down a few doors to Patsy’s for coffee and breakfast, too.

Ocean Cliff Negril – A Truly Exceptional Experience
I had the honor of getting married at Ocean Cliff Negril in February 2023, and I can confidently say that Heather and her team delivered on every single detail I envisioned. Heather is all about her business—she cuts no corners and ensures everything is executed with precision and care.
One example of her commitment to excellence happened during our cocktail hour. After the wedding, I learned that a bartender had mistakenly denied guests the use of drink tickets due to a misunderstanding of the time frame. When I brought this to Heather’s attention, she immediately asked what she could do to make it right and how much of a refund I felt was fair. There was no back and forth—she credited me right away, a true testament to her integrity and dedication to guest satisfaction.
Since my wedding, I have returned to Ocean Cliff many times, and each visit reaffirms why this place is so special. I always meet repeat guests who return for the same reasons—impeccable service, a stunning atmosphere, and a team that genuinely cares. Heather is the secret sauce that makes Ocean Cliff unforgettable, and her staff is a reflection of her high standards.
If you're looking for an intimate, relaxing, and trusted getaway, I highly recommend Ocean Cliff Negril. And let’s talk about that view—for me, it outshines any beach property, any day of the week! You will mainly find couples BUT singles come looking for some rest and relaxation and have shared with me the same experience too.
This adults-only retreat offers a quaint, intimate atmosphere with a personalized touch for every guest. While Ocean Cliff isn’t an activity-packed resort, Heather thoughtfully considers guest feedback and enhances the experience where it makes sense. On my last visit, I was delighted to find live music scheduled twice a week during dinner—a perfect addition to the ambiance. I truly can’t say enough about Ocean Cliff Negril as an exceptional choice for a stay in Negril!
