The pool, while smaller than it appeared in the pictures, was deep and perfect for a refreshing plunge or a quick workout. The kitchen was well-equipped, including a miele dishwasher miele oven (although the text is all worn off and i couldn't read what's what) and barbecue.
The bedroom was comfortable, with ambient dim lighting that created a peaceful environment for restful sleep. Although there were no bedside tables, which was a minor inconvenience. The bathroom was equally impressive, with a luxurious shower and bathtub.
The villa's landscaping is breathtaking, adding to the charm of the property. We were pleasantly surprised that there were no mosquitoes during our stay, though we did use insect repellent just in case.
On the downside, the sound from the large TV echoed in the high-ceiling living room, making it a bit challenging to hear clearly. Additionally, the restaurant on-site only operates from Friday to Sunday, with room service available on other days for an extra fee. However, the convenience of having Coles and IGA just a 10-minute drive away made self-catering an easy option.
The washing machine and dryer were also a huge plus, especially in the humid Port Douglas climate.
Especially because we went on a weekday and booked early we got a good price for the rooms. If you get the rooms at a full price you may feel that it is a rather expensive stay.
There was a wasp nest greeting us next to the garage switch as we were walking into the villa. A photo is attached. This kind of experience lowers the value of an accommodation. Had we paid more we would be not annoyed.
Overall, this villa offers a perfect blend of luxury, nature, and convenience. Despite a few minor drawbacks, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return!

Wow this place is stunning, far superior to other resorts around, including the 'big resort' in town, we are thrilled with the facilities, resort, Villa's, and pools, an incredible venue. So grateful for this stay. Recommend A++ to anyone wanting a luxury resort holiday.
Our favourite place to stay in Port Douglas. It’s like going to Bali without the flight since it just 3 hours from Sydney. The villas have private pools which is a huge plus but also an immense resort pool. On site restaurant which will even deliver to your villa.

Pros:
Spectacular grounds with huge pool set in lush tropical garden setting. Peaceful zen quality to the high ceiling Southeast Asia style architecture.
Lodging is stand alone homes with Bali like decor, high ceilings, full kitchen, dining room, living room etc, very updated bathrooms and plenty of space
Restaurant while having a somewhat limited Thai oriented menu served top quality food at reasonable prices
Spa is the best we have been to in the world, small but with superb quality therapists (Mia and Melissa) with reasonable prices
Ten minute walk to Wildlife Heritage park, a fantastic zoo with friendly accessible animals
Cons:
Must take a shared shuttle (which drives among all the local lodgings) to get into Port Douglas downtown, a ten minute drive away. While the shuttle usually arrived within 5-10 minutes of phoning them (there is no Uber or Lyft), there is a sense of separation from the town (which may not be a bad thing)
Staff was fairly small during the shoulder season in the third week of March when we visited. When we checked in, the young female staffer who walked us to our place did a superficial walkthrough which left us to figure out for ourselves various operating functions of the home.

My wife and I recently had a week at the Niramaya Villas and Spa for our wedding anniversary in a fully enclosed, private secure 3 bedroom deluxe villa. The staff were exceptional .Check in was very smooth with all our questions fully covered. A staff member then came to our villa to explain the ins and outs of how everything worked.
The whole experience was way above expectations and the staff were forever obliging and helpful, to the extent that we were given a bottle of champagne and chocolates for our anniversary.
The garden and grounds are very spacious around the villas. These areas are kept in a pristine condition. It took us a few days to realize that there is always the sound of running water around you at Niramaya in your villas plunge pool and your courtyard fountains which actually relaxes you and enhances the overall experience. There was also an abundance of birdlife within the grounds of the resort.
Wi fi was always pretty good, but sometimes the TV reception was a little sketchy.
We found the restaurant food and service excellent, with a distinctive asian flavour and also enjoyed a few cocktails from the bar. Room service was also available.
We really appreciated having a full sized double garage attached to our villa , which enabled us to park under cover and only need to walk a dozen steps to our living area. This was also great for the easy packing and unpacking of suit cases upon arrival and departure.
Based upon our many years of overseas travel staying in 5 star resorts, Niramaya Villas and Spa is now right at the top of our list, without the need for a long haul flight.

Beautiful resort. Villas are amazing. We went to Port Douglas for our 25 year wedding anniversary. Resort was close to everything - main street restaurants and shops just 5 min drive away so we hopped in our car most nights and went out to beautiful restaurants. Highly recommend Salsa and Malaleuca (a bit fancier and pricier but food is exceptional), Irish Pub nice too. Niramayah is worth every penny. Our villa was amazing - clean, modern and had every conceivable thing you need - kitchen fully stocked, coffee pod machine, washing machine/dryer, beach towels, beautiful shampoo/conditioner/body wash. We didn't cook whilst we were there but if you wanted to everything is there that you need. We had our own beautiful pool which meant we didn't need to leave our villa to go to the main pool area. We loved the privacy. Grounds are meticulous and beautiful. We had a small gift waiting in the fridge on arrival from the resort for our anniversary which was lovely too. Friends had also organised through the resort to have champagne and a cheese/meat platter waiting for us. Resort staff are very helpful and go out of their way. We had breaky at the resort which was nice and I had a massage at the day spa which was amazing. Can't recommend this place more. As the saying goes 'you get what you pay for' so definitely worth the money. Would stay there again if I returned to PD.
