DONT STAY HERE! THIS IS NOT A FIVE-STAR HOTEL! We were utterly let down by our experience at NH Taormina. This was supposed to be the grand finale of our beautiful three-week Italian honeymoon, and we had booked three nights using our AmEx rewards points. Everywhere else we stayed was fantastic, but this was a complete disaster. The beds were some of the worst I’ve ever encountered—worse than a two-star hotel! My wife is usually fine, but even she woke up with back pain, and I’ve had multiple back surgeries, so you can imagine how I felt. On our first night, we asked the front desk if there were any other rooms with more comfortable beds, but they told us the complimentary AmEx upgrade was unavailable and offered no alternatives. Frustrated, my wife walked down the street at 6 AM to find another hotel for our last two nights. When we checked out, the staff were shockingly rude, acting as if they couldn’t believe we wouldn’t stay or use our $100 credit. Now, we’ve been working with AmEx for the last four months to get our points refunded for the two nights we didn’t stay, and the hotel is refusing to cooperate. It’s been a nightmare!

THIS IS NOT A FIVE STAR HOTEL IN TERMS OF ACCOMODATIONS OR CUSTOMER SERVICE! We were so incredibly disappointed with our stay at NH Taormina. This was going to be our last stay on our lovely 3 week long Italian honeymoon and we had booked 3 nights using our AmEx rewards points. Our stays everywhere else were incredible and this was anything but. Maybe the worst beds I've ever slept on - worse than a 2 star hotel. My husband is particularly sensitive as he's had a few back surgeries but even I woke up in the morning with a ton of back pain. Before sleeping the first night we asked the front desk if any other rooms with more comfortable beds were available but were told neither the complimentary AmEx upgrade was available or any other rooms. I walked down the street at 6am to find another hotel and booked our last 2 nights elsewhere. The staff were incredibly rude when we checked out, they were shocked we wouldn't stay or use our $100 credit. And we have been working with AmEx the last 4 months to try and get our points refunded for the 2 of 3 nights we didn't stay and the hotel wouldn't budge.

From the moment we arrived, we knew it would be a great stay. The valet staff were so friendly as they took our bags and valeted our car. Parking is an issue in the area, so if you have a car, I highly recommend the valet service. We were then greeted by the nicest & most accommodating front desk staff. The hotel is in a very good location and walkable to Corso Umberto where you will find great shops and restaurants. There is a great rooftop pool with views of the sea. The breakfast was definitely more upscale than other hotels. Everything was fresh and delicious and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. We had a presidential suite which was absolutely stunning. The bed and bedding were top notch. The suite with two bathrooms was very clean and nicely appointed. The suite’s rooftop was just amazing. I highly recommend this hotel and would def stay here again and again!

We were delighted with our first stay in Taormina at the NH! Prior to our arrival Sarah patiently answered questions by email and made a number of bookings for us. Upon arriving the entire staff was friendly and helpful- with special mention to Angelo, Cecilia and Clarissa. Twice daily housekeeping was great, and we loved the extra treats they brought. The daily breakfast too was delish, and Tanya and Stefano were very helpful. We stayed five nights in a Presidential Suite and enjoyed the room and also the Jacuzzi deck with 360 degree views. One of the reasons we chose NH was the modern hotel facilities. We dined one night at Zefiro and it was one of our best dinners. Highly highly recommend.

Nice hotel, good location, too expensive for what it offers. The room was too small for two people, and please see the attached picture, showing the view from our room on the 5th floor. Also, on Saturday night, the hotel had a party on the 7th floor, a for profit event, for which it charged attendees. The music was unbearable, the front desk clerk misled us that the music will be lowered around 11pm, and will stop around 11:30pm. It stopped exactly at midnight, after which I couldn't fall asleep. We were not notified about it when the room was booked, and it is my understanding that this happens occasionally. A special mention: Viola at the front desk was very nice about it, offered us another room to go sleep there just for that night, but we were too tired at around 11pm to move rooms. They also tried to compensate us by offering us a 30 minute massage the next day. Doesn't compensate for a sleepless night at an expensive hotel. Disappointing.

1. Pay for a larger room, however if you spring for the presidential suite (there are four of them), it matters which one you get. Two of them have an unobstructed view of the city. The other two are behind those first two, and have no view. Pretty disappointing to have gotten one of the ones without a view, given the price paid. 2. Location is "mid-mountain" which made it easy to walk both up and down to restaurants, shops, etc. However you cannot get all the way down to the beach on foot. 3. Breakfast ends at 10:30. Make sure you show up before 10:00, or no one will help you (most items are cooked to order). And the food is pulled promptly at 10:30. Not the friendliest rule for a hotel in a leisure town. 4. The front desk staff / concierge are excellent. Please use them to book any restaurants, as they got us great tables at well reviewed restaurants. 5. The pool and the gym are both small. While nothing wrong with either, just putting expectations in line since stock photos are deceiving.

Im not sure how this hotel was raised 5stars, but it's far from a 5star hotel. Normally when I make a booking for a hotel, the hotel reaches out via email to offer airport shuttle pick ups and information for your arrival. I sent a WhatsApp and email to this hotel to arrange an airport pick up, got nothing back. After checking in, I was walked to my room which was dark, tight and poor view of the net buildings air-conditioning panels. Not what a luxury stay in Taormina is suppose to look like. It gets more interesting. when I complain to the hotel, they advised that I didn't book a sea view and thats why my view is so poor. I explained sea view means you are facing the sea, and usually other rooms face the hill and the mountain. Mine is like a prison cell. The hotel manager showed me couple other rooms which were not much better, but the best part was they were telling me that if I decide to change rooms, they will charge me a 40euros extra per night. Im paying $600/night to be here, you honestly cant be that cheap and petty to ask for a lousy 40 euros extra to switch my room from something absolutely unacceptable to something just as lousy. The room is so tiny you can barely fit a suitcase, and no natural light coming in, dark and depressing. The location and the views from this hotel is not luxurious or anything 5star, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
