The New Hotel, an artsy, contemporary design masterpiece, offers a unique romantic getaway just a stone’s throw away from the city’s historic landmarks. This hip hotel, situated on Filellinon Street, not only offers stunning views and world-class amenities but also an immersive experience in a living art installation, making it a perfect choice for honeymooners and lovebirds.

About the New Hotel

The New Hotel, once the Olympic Palace Hotel, is a perfect blend of past and present. The designers, award-winning duo Fernando and Humberto Campana, breathed new life into the old establishment by recycling parts of it into a modernist wonder. The result is a work of art showcasing outstanding interiors, unusual custom-made furniture, and handmade fixtures that will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a major art installation.

Rooms and Suites

The hotel’s funky, eclectic rooms are as comfortable as they are stylish. With bamboo floors and tables, minibars, Wi-Fi, and satellite TV, you’ll have everything you need at your fingertips. For a more luxurious experience, upgraded rooms offer balconies, and suites feature separate sitting areas. The jewel of the crown, the penthouse suite, boasts a private terrace with panoramic city views. And if you feel like staying in, 24/7 room service is at your disposal.

Amenities and Facilities

The New Hotel offers more than just a place to rest. Start your day with a delicious breakfast before you head out to explore the city. Upon return, indulge in the wellness area complete with a steam bath, a hot tub, a massage room, and fitness facilities. The vibrant on-site restaurant promises a culinary adventure, and the bar is a perfect place to unwind with a drink.

Location and Surroundings

With its location next to Constitution Square (Syntagma Square), the New Hotel is perfectly positioned for the sights of Athens. The ancient Parthenon is just an 11-minute walk away, and the National Archaeological Museum is within a short distance. Explore the ruins of Plaka, visit the Acropolis and its museum, or get lost in the stylish boutique shopping district of Kolonaki.

In the New Hotel, you’ll find a romantic haven that combines the charm of Athens’ rich history with the allure of modernist architecture. So, are you ready to start your forever in the heart of ancient Athens?

Overpriced $$$$$

Only thing good about this hotel is the rooftop view. We decided to dine at the rooftop restaurant. Way overpriced and the food is average. Ate better elsewhere at 5* star restaurants for Half the price they charge us here. $275 for 4-drinks and few appetizers!!!

Excellent location; nice hotel

This is a modern hotel which is well located around a 15 minute walk from The Acropolis. The lobby and main bar are decorated with re-purposed wood. Our room was spacious, light and airy, with the usual amenities, very good shower, comfortable beds and a well sized balcony. There are...

Great Stay!

Great service by all the staff. Quick to get us in and accommodating to all our requests. Rooms were uniquely decorated with extras throughout the day. A few blocks from metro and the center of everything. I wouldn’t recommend the rooftop restaurant, but definitely the hotel.

Central location and special design but don’t feel any luxury.

Location of the hotel is in the heart of Athens with an elegant design with the special handmade fixtures. I didn’t t like the exterior of the hotel, inside is better. The hotel has a partial membership with Marriott, that was the reason I’ve chosen but couldn’t t find on...

Form over function

This hotel is centrally located and an easy walk to many sites including the Plaka area. The staff were friendly, but the front desk was understaffed. The rooms are small with no comfortable seating. There is a chair with a ladder attached. I guess it looks nice. The bathrooms follow...

Funhouse?!? My O.C.D. was at max the entire time.

We like to use the word “quirky” when describing things like this. The photos of the hotel captured some of the unusual visual elements of the place, but the photos could not convey the feeling of the hotel. The halls to the rooms are very dark with a broken mirror...

"Spiros" was our "Heros"

Truly enjoyed our days in downtown Athens at he New Hotel. Dined on the New Hotel roof deck bathed in the evening lights of the Acropolis. When the Greek transit workers staged a one day strike, Spiros walked us and our luggage across downtown Athens, among the barricades of protesters...
