Hands down, Nayara Tented Camp is the finest resort we have ever experienced. The staff are incredibly engaging and helpful. They all seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. The front desk staff are delighted to see you each time you approach with a question or a need. The restaurant and bar staff are exceptionally attentive. And, we loved how nearly every time we took a golf cart ride to another part of the resort, the driver pulled over to show us some spectacular bit of nature: frogs, sloths, birds, plants. They all seem obsessed with the rain forest, and their delight at finding a creature seems to know no end. The beauty of the landscape cannot be overstated. It is just stunning. Impeccably landscaped along the path edges and truly wild just behind those plantings. We were fortunate to have a tent that looked directly onto the Arenal volcano. Wow. Our tent - presumably every tent - was stunning in quality, design, layout and size. We used the plunge pool several times a day. We loved the window seats for reading that flanked our king bed. The bathroom is enormous with two very large double showers - one inside, one outside. The walk in closet is spacious with lots of hangars. And the privacy is absolute when you are enjoying the outside deck and pool. Our tent was completely secluded. Finally, the restaurants are far above average for a resort. We especially loved Asia Luna. Creative dishes, great flavors, beautifully plated. And the middle eastern / Mediterranean food at Ayla was delicious as well. We also appreciated that the complimentary breakfast each morning was abundant. A huge buffet plus fresh dishes made to order.

We had the most amazing 4 nights at Nayara! 1st class and very unique and beautiful property! Will become an annual trip. Grounds, pools, bars, gardens, nature, walks and excellent service!! Can't wait to come back! Nayara Tented Camp exceeded our expectations! Thank you

We had the best week! The property is unique and stunning, my one-word takeaway from this trip is magical! This resort is absolutely on par or better than the Ritz Carlton when it comes to service. We have been blown away by the kindness and above-and-beyond service. A few notable moments: Jose at Henry’s Bar was our first friend. We will miss the nightly martinis and conversation. You should absolutely sign up for the mixology class! Melanie in reception remembered us from day one and always made sure we had what we needed. Raquel and Daniel in the Asia Luna restaurant (our favorite!). All of the restaurants took great care in making sure I had gluten free options. At Asia Luna it felt like they welcomed this challenge. I rarely get to enjoy such delicious Asian dishes-including sushi. If you have celiac, don’t worry. They made it so easy. Alonso our guide and Ronnie our driver for an all day hike to the mystic hanging bridges snd Fortuna Waterfall were so great at making sure we saw so many plants and animals synonymous with Costa Rica. We learned so much, got truly fantastic photos, and made two new friends! The resort staff found out that my husband and I are about to be grandparents for the first time - to twins no less. In our room was the sweetest note and gift of to ‘twin’ sloths. Did I get a little teary? Yes. It was truly unexpected but demonstrates so perfectly how this resort listens to their guests, cares, and works to make every experience memorable. You won’t be disappointed here. It rains a lot because it is a rainforest. Embrace it. You’ll be sleeping in the clouds, falling asleep to gentle rains, and enjoying a sunny day by the pool. Don’t miss the hot springs. Pool hop and bar hop through the resort. The spa is amazing. Go. Book it.

Nayara is truly one of the gems in this world. Not only would I classify Nayara as a top resort in Central America (which is clear from its several awards naming it as such), but it’s one of the top resorts in the world in my eyes. Built onto a mountainside just out of La Fortuna, Nayara fully integrates you into the jungle. Every time you step outside of your room, you will truly feel the experience of being in the rain forest. From the early morning fog to sudden rainstorms, the natural sound of the flora and fauna, to the luscious green trails that snake through the resort, Nayara gives you an experience you cannot find anywhere else. In some ways, it feels as if you’re are on the Jungle Cruise ride at Disneyland in the best way possible: theme parks spend millions of dollars to only hope to replicate what you truly experience in nature at Nayara. Step outside, close your eyes, and just listen to the jungle: it’s an incredible experience. I’ve previously stayed at Nayara Gardens, and Tented Camp is a step above Gardens or even Springs in my opinion. Though all Nayara rooms, whether it be Springs, Gardens or Tented Camp, have access to the entire complex, the Tented Camp rooms are above and beyond due to their privacy and integration with nature. Tented Camp is situated physically higher on the mountainside, providing incredible views of the volcano when weather permits. Additionally, there’s more physical separation between the rooms. Though this means you’ll be forced to walk up and downhill more (or, you can call for a golf cart pickup, which the staff is happy to provide), you can relax in your dedicated hot springs-fed infinity pool without the feeling of being watched by anything but the incredible variety of birds present in Costa Rica. Inside the tent, the room is spacious and luxurious, appointed with high end furnishings, a complementary minibar (sans hard alcohol), and an incredibly comfortable bed. The bathroom has a large tub, and no less than 5 separate shower heads between the indoor and outdoor showers. Speaking of showers— not once did we use the indoor shower because the feeling of the cool rain and the contrast with the warm water from the shower is something that is unforgettable. Again, it’s the integration with nature that makes Nayara truly special. The staff are top notch. Every single member of the staff, whether at the coffee bar, front desk, restaurant, or housekeeping, have a genuine smile and care for the guests. When we arrived late, approximately 9pm, the resort knew we had been traveling the whole day and that we missed dinner. Because of this, they had sandwiches waiting in the room for us when we arrived, completely unprompted. This first gesture was unexpected but incredibly appreciated, and set the tone for the service for the whole trip. Throughout our stay, every staff member— even those we had never met before— not only knew our name, but our room number as well. This was almost a magic trick: you’d ask for a golf cart back to your room, and somehow your name and destination would be communicated to the driver, seemly without any actual verbal communication from the person that you put in your request to. You’d ask for the cart, the restaurant or front desk staff would say “it’s on the way”, and you wouldn’t see them say anything else. Yet, the driver knows exactly who you are and where you’re going. I know that they have their communication skills absolutely nailed down using the headsets they wear, but like I said, it’s basically magic. Costa Rica is one of my favorite countries in the world. It’s naturally beautiful, the people (not just at Nayara, but across the entire country) are incredibly kind, and there’s so many things to do. If you’re an adventure seeker, La Fortuna is a home base where you can go white water rafting, waterfall repelling, or ATVing. Or, you can find tours that emphasize relaxation and wellness. But regardless, having Nayara Tented Camp as a sanctuary to come back to after a day of exploration is appreciated and unmatched. Without a doubt, Nayara and Costa Rica are places I will return to, and am looking forward to when I am able to do so.

We were blown away by our stay at Tented Camp. This was our last stop on our honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, and it was absolutely amazing. The staff is incredible — from the cart drivers to the servers to the bartenders, everyone we spoke with was friendly and attentive. We felt like our every need was considered and taken care of, and we’d just never experienced something quite like that before. The food was also fantastic. We tried almost every restaurant, and we had wonderful meals and drinks at each one. The fine dining experience at Amor Loco was so special for our last evening, the fish shawarma at Ayla is a must-order, the cacio e pepe experience at Mis Amores was both fun and delicious, and we had a great time chatting with the bartender at Henry’s Bar and experiencing their unique martinis. The espresso bar is also a nice play to visit and enjoy some coffee on a rainy afternoon. It was also so lovely to have breakfast on our deck in the morning, and our rooms were kept amazingly clean and cared for. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, although we hope to be able to come back one day to celebrate an anniversary!

We went in Sept 2024. This was our second visit to Nayara. 9 years ago we stayed at the Springs and this time decided to try Nayara Tented camp. It was another win. We travel a lot and very few times do we want to go back to the same place and we continue to want to come back. A few things we did different this time. We took a charter flight from and back San Jose in and it was so much better than the drive for us. Yes it is more expensive; but we felt worth every penny to enjoy more time at Nayara. On our last visit we also did the bridges, zip lining and a few other things. This time we just enjoyed Nayara and the 3 parts of the resort and chilled in our room a lot. We were concerned about the privacy at the Tents since the Springs felt so private-we did feel things were private at the Springs and we had an amazing view. We did feel it was also private; but I could see in busy season being able to hear the other tents; I would prefer it also to be adults only; but we understand the draw for families. The staff was amazing from our first greeting like our last visit. We felt cared for and everyone was nice. We spent our days just going from pool to pool for a few hours and enjoying the various restaurants. We had quite a few treatments at the Tents spa. They were great. Great massages. My only complaint would be the noise of the golf carts going by and being able to hear people up on the path; I did suggest on our comment cards making that area a "quiet zone"; but this is such a minor thing in the grand scheme of things. The gym is excellent for a resort and we did use it. End of the day; we loved our stay, we'd go back in a heartbeat and we felt as special as the first time we went. THANK YOU!

This place kind of ruined me. It took me three weeks to get adjusted back into day-to-day life after leaving. Other reviews do a great job of discussing the details. I'm here to tell you that if you are considering booking the Tented Camp, just do it. I've never spent so much money without any semblance of a regret. From our discussions with others around the property, the other Nayara spots on the property are also incredible but the Tented Camp is definitely a half-step above because of the views and newer accommodations. I cannot wait to come back. In fact, I think about it way too often.

We, along with 3 other couples, just enjoyed a fantastic 3 night stay at Nayara Tented Camp. Our villas were amazing, the grounds were spectacular and the service was outstanding. The views of the Arenal Volcano were wonderful - and we all greatly enjoyed the private soaking pools, the patios along with the outdoor showers. While visiting, we booked the Mystical Hanging Bridges + La Fortuna waterfall & lunch tour. Our naturalist guide was wonderful - and she was able to show us so much colorful wildlife. We also booked and enjoyed the 7 course Costa Rica dinner at Amor Loco. We would highly recommend both experiences. It was very clear that the staff are very committed to ensuring a wonderful guest experience - from check-in to departure. We also enjoyed the hot spring pools located on the property as well as walks throughout each of the 3 Nayara resorts. Everyone of us hopes to return in the future. This was a wonderful first stop at the beginning of our 10 night trip. All 4 couples in our group would definitely recommend this wonderful spot!

We’ve been fortunate enough to travel across the world and have stayed at some of the best and most awarded properties but, to date, I can safely say that nothing has compared to the hospitality, property, and overall experience we had with Nayara Tented Camp. From the warm welcome from our driver who hauled us from San Jose to the resort to the impeccable service throughout our stay, every single detail exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail, the luxury and comfort of our “tent”, and the genuine hospitality we received made us feel truly valued as guests. While Nayara Springs and Gardens (separate resorts) are located along the same hillside, each feels distinctly separate and private. That said, the network of paths enabled by chauferred golf carts avail one to five (or more) equally excellent dining venues and a series of pools creating endless variety. Perhaps our best stay anywhere.
