What a spectacular resort and holiday! Everything is so perfectly done! The property is just beautiful. But be ready to walk uphill a lot! Our villa was amazing with a beautiful patio and plunge pool of hot springs. What a treat! The service is exceptional. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Morning yoga in a spectacular yoga pavilion was such a treat and a great way to start the day! Wonderful activities and tours. We did the Cultural Farm Tour and learned to make tortillas. The tour was just great! Dinner at Amor Loco was beyond. Wonderful service and delicious food and the guitar player was wonderful. Also liked Asia Luna quite a bit. Such a restful enjoyable vacation. Can’t wait to go back.

Amazing resort! The service is incredible! We spent seven days there and were treated like royalty by everyone who we encountered. The facility, itself is beautiful. It is situated at the base of a rain forest and the property itself is located on a hillside that is plush with rainforest as well (especially the top part, which is a sister resort, called Nayara Tented Gardens. We stayed at the bottom of the hillside in what is called Nayara Springs. Each villa has its own private lanai and plunge pool that is fed by thermal springs that are heated by the nearby Arenal Volcano. There are also 6 thermal springs on property for community use, if you want to join up with friends. On our first day a group of 6 javelinas (peccaries) walking in a row behind our plunge pool. The bartenders at the swim-up pool (Cielito Lindo) stopped what they were doing to show us a sloth that was hidden in the tree tops nearby. Way up top, there are monkeys, agoutis, and an incredible array of tropical birds that sing all day long! There are several restaurants on site. We tried nearly all of them. Mis Amores (an Italian restaurant) was our favorite, but Ayla (Mediterranean) ran a close second. I loved the Taook chicken skewer from Ayla, but my wife's favorite was the Cacio e Pepe which is cooked in front of you at Mis Amores. We also tried La Terraza (more casual) and Amor Loco (fine dining that offers either a 4 or a 7 course designed meal) and found them to be great, too. We did some excursions that we booked either through the hotel or on Viator that were all great. A boat ride through Cano Negro involved a bit of a ride to get to (and back) but if you are a bird watcher or enjoy pure, untouched nature, this is your place. We saw a howler monkey that was orange in color (only found in Costa Rica), some Caimans, and incredibly beautiful birds. We did a Costa Rican cooking class, rode horses and ATVs and ate in a soda (small, family -owned restaurant) in the nearby town of La Fortuna. Its an easy taxi ride from the hotel to the town. For the excursions, they all include transportation to/from your hotel. I left service to talk about last because it was the most prominent part of our enjoyable stay. The staff are all on a mission to make you think that you are the only guest they are concerned about. It started with Melvin, who we met first in reception. He took a lot of time to explain everything to us and each time we crossed paths with him throughout the week he remembered us and would stop to chat. Luis, Juan Carlos, Brian and Sharon at Cielito Lindo treated us like family from day 1. It's always the sign of a good server when they remember your name from the day before! One afternoon, my wife slipped on the sloth path and got a small cut on her thumbnail. The Cielito Lindo crew jumped into action...warm towels, ice and running for the first aid kit to bandage it. They ran to get soda water when they saw a drop of blood on her shirt. And as mentioned, they knew my wife wanted to see a sloth so they walked the perimeter of the area trying to find one for her to see. I don't know who was more excited, my wife or Juan Carlos when he was spotted one. Sylvia was our housekeeper and she was great, too! Everything was set to brand new each day and the snacks and drinks we had eaten were refilled. Another example of the service is one night after dinner we were picked up at Ayla by one of their golf cart shuttles. As we were getting out at our villa a few minutes away, I realized that I had left my phone at the restaurant. Our driver offered to go retrieve the phone and bring it back to us. I declined and said if he didn't mind bringing me back, I knew right where I had left it. He agreed and before we got to the restaurant, someone radioed him and said to turn around because the restaurant had found the phone and sent it with another driver to my villa. My wife already had the phone before we even got back to the restaurant. I met the residence manager, Karina, (who goes above and beyond to meet the guests at a manager's reception) on our last day and told her how impressed we both were. I am not sure what training system they have, but they should definitely keep it up! The employees are what makes the place, even more so, than the facility! If everyone is getting this experience, it is pretty amazing. We are definitely looking forward to returning again soon!

When we booked Nayara Springs, we had no idea what to expect. We knew it was a lovely resort from other reviews, but that did not do it justice! Nayara Springs is the adult-only section of a larger resort, that sits just under the Arenal Volcano. The property is glorious, with a concerted effort to keep the natural beauty of the rain forest, including the animals. We were greeted in the reception area with a welcome cocktail and given all the details of our stay. Once aboard the cart to our room, the guide pointed out several aspects of the property, from restaurants and bars to pools and natural hot springs. Our villa was spectacular! Private volcano-fed hot tub, hammock, and every amenity we could have wanted, all in a beautifully appointed space which included a private outdoor shower (no drones allowed!) All of this would have been plenty for me to write a great review, but I haven't gotten to the best part... the food, ambience, and of course, the service and the people. On our first night, we met the new head chef who had been there just about two weeks. We got talking about food and he wanted us to try a new dish he was adding to the menu, vitello tonnato. It was amazing, as was all the food. There are several restaurants on the property, and we had booked ahead so that we could try as many as possible. Our second evening was the 7-course tasting menu at Amor Loco. Again, we were met with wonderful service, great people, and food that can hardly be described, it was so delectable. The wine pairing taught us about Costa Rican, Argentinian, and Chilean wines, as well as some Spanish Cavas. The Spring Celebration menu at Amor Loco is magical. Specializing in local meats, seafood, vegetable, and fruits, it was a feast for the palate. We spent time at Nostalgia, the wine bar and even had their food pairing one night. Another wonderful meal with great wines and service set on a balcony accompanied by an orchestra of tree frogs and monkeys. The Nayara Springs spa, with open air tree houses for services where you relaxed and communed with nature, while receiving top notch beauty and relaxation treatments, was spectacular. We indulged in three different treatments, and I truly cannot say which we liked best. We saw sloths, spider monkeys, toucans, parrots, iguanas, and heard howler monkeys, all without leaving the property. Again, the people were the most special part of the journey. So open, warm, and welcoming, we felt like we were in our home away from home, and it was our first visit. We will be back!

Arrived to the most stunning resort! From the minute we arrived we were treated as special guests. The bedroom was a Wow , and the resort was fabulous. It was hilly but golf buggies were at your call and never had to wait ! Free yoga was wonderful and well worth a visit. Staff all friendly. We have been very fortunate to stay in some stunning hotels around the world but this hotel is definitely in our top five . Would highly recommend.

We love this hotel resort so much, we have now visited 3 times for our 25th, 30th, and 35th Wedding Anniversaries. We love the spaciousness and privacy of having our own villa in the midst of the rain forest and yet convenient access to fine dining, great Costa Rican coffee, spa treatments, among the natural beauty of the resort properties with the tropical flora and native wildlife (sloths, the howler monkeys, coatis). Our favorite times are hanging out in our own private plunge pool, lazing in the hammock, and using the outdoor shower in the rain. We have watched the expansion of the 3 Nayara properties since we first stayed at the Gardens in 2013, and in the last 5 years the amenities at the Tented Camp blew us away from the Mediterranean restaurant to the Infinity Pool with a view of Arenal Volcano. We must return soonest!

A truly amazing experience. We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday and the attention for everything was outstanding. The villa with private plunge pool and view of volcano Arenal was fantastic. A truly relaxing week!! Highly recommend the spa services - enjoyed so much we used them twice in a five day stay. We had fabulous weather (did not rain once - early March) but had heard that it had been a very wet rainy season that had only recently completed.

I read someone’s review on here saying that this hotel will ruin all other hotels. And that person is 100% correct! This is the absolute best hotel I’ve ever stayed at! The food was incredible, the service was amazing, and I was so sad I only got to stay here for 2 days. I already want to visit again and also check out other Nayara hotels. Yes, it is pricey. But if you can use points like we did, it’s so worth it!

We are just returning from five nights and four days at the amazing Nayara Resorts in La Fortuna. Everything in this review except descriptions of the villa itself can be applied to Nayara Gardens and Nayara Tented Camp, in addition to Nayara Springs (where we stayed) as the three all function together as a single resort. We read a ton of reviews about the property before selecting it. Rather than restate what everyone seems to say, we'll try to offer some different insights that aren't well covered. Like so many reviewers, we are pleased to say that Nayara is the most wonderful resort we've ever been to. I can't imagine how anywhere we go in the future is going to compare with our time there. It is incredbily beautiful, the staff are extraordinarily kind and welcoming, the food and other amenites are great, and there is as much, or little, as anyone could want to do. If you can afford to go to Nayara, you should go to Nayara, period. A few observations, again, hoping to add new/different insight: 1) The Nayara Resorts at La Fortuna/Arenal, are an incredibly well-run business. One of the staff members told us this property employs a total team of over 500 people. We probably interacted with more than 100 of them over the course of five days, many extensively. The consistency of experience was truly remarkable. It simply isn't possible that everyone who works at Nayara is an extraordinarly nice, perfectly-mannered, positive, and professional person naturally at all times. In addition to great hiring, there simply must be excellent training and rigorous quality control behind the scenes. The team there is impeccibly trained. Every golf cart driver handles each ride exactly the same way, with the same protocol and same courtesy. Every food service worker does their job with precision (and a great balance between familiarity and professionalism/effieciency). And, no matter who you ask a question or seek assistance from, that person can always help you and the expereince is seamless if they end up referring you to someone else. There is very little visible evidence of staff heirarchy and every employee seems similarly empowered to help. Their information systems are excellent so they never dropped the ball with us, not even once, and the staff seems uniformly highly motivated and compelled to make every guest's experience magical. If you've ever run a large workforce, you'll understand that the way Nayara operates is truly something to behold. What an extraordinarily well-managed company this must be. 2) The materials used at the resort are absolutely top-notch. Everything at Nayara looks and feels as if it is quality. The wood is beautiful in all the buildings, the furniture is well-designed and well constructed, the pools feature really elegant (but not showy) tile work, the floors are solid and shining, the bathroom fixtures are lovely... showers and plunge pools are amazing, and on and on and on. Of course the food and ingredients at all the resturance delicous and fresh. We only stayed in the Villa at Nayara Springs, so I cannot vouch for the accommodations at Nayara Gardens or Nayara Tented Camp but we used all three sections of the property (restaurants, pools, bars, etc.) extensively. From what we saw, we NEVER had a moment in which we doubted the physical quality of some part of the resort. Nayara looks and feels 5-star in every possible way, and without fail. 3) This is more of a feeling than a statement of fact, but our experience at Nayara had less of a feeling of class difference than other resorts we've been to. Costa Rica is a comparitively affluent Latin American country and our experience with the staff at Nayara felt that way. The resort is very expensive and therefore attracts a very affluent customer base, but the staff never allows that feeling of "haves being waited on by have-nots" that can permeate other resort hotels. Nayara employees across the board present themselves as happy, well compensated, professionals in fulfilling hospitality careers. We talked to lots of them and it was clear that their jobs are good. They speak positively of the company and all seem to share pride in the resort, the region, and the country. Their jobs seem to provide them with comparatively good lives outside the resort and it shows in how natrually they connect with and relate to customers. For us, this was a welcome feeling and different from other resorts we've been to. 4) We have literally only one piece of constructive criticism: For all of the incredible ground and enormity of the property (something like 120 villas across Springs, Gardens, and Tented Camp) it is peculiar to have only one gym/workout facility. There are something like seven full pools and tons of restaurants and bars. It basically never feels crowded anywhere on the property.... EXCEPT for the one gym. It was sort of annoying to have to wait to use certain machines during busy times in the morning. And while we enjoyed having the gym right near us in Nayara Springs, it is hard to imagine people paying as much as one has to pay to stay at Nayara Tented Camp only to find they have to take a golf cart to and from the one available gym if they want to work out. If you care about the gym, and are without kids in your party (as the Springs is adults only) you should stay in Nayara Springs, not the other ones.

We loved everything about this resort but particular the staff was excellent. From the moment that our driver picked us up in San Jose until our driver dropped us off and Puntarenas. everybody was very concerned that we were having a wonderful time. The drivers were arranged through the resort. We were very fortunate. We felt that Mariela Zuñiga was our guide for the Misto Park hanging bridges. She knew so much and pointed out animals we didn’t even know where there. The plunge pool was terrific and I lord the netting around the bed. Wonderful experience.

Nayara Springs provided an unforgettable honeymoon. They literally get the romance right over and over, and over again. Every person we encountered from the golf cart drivers, to the servers, to the concierges were so gracious and helpful. We loved the privacy of the Springs Villas. Our room was GORGEOUS and we loved the private hot spring. The housekeeping staff did such an incredible job consistently surprising us with rose petals.. and chocolates.. and towel hearts with our turn down service. We were also surprised with a bottle of champagne and local treats upon our arrival. The food at Nayara was truly fantastic. We loved the Romantic dinner for two, the lamb dish prepared by the chef was specifically very memorable. We also truly loved the 7 course tasting menu at Amor Loco and are still thinking about the steak with the Ponzu butter. Mis Amores was also surprisingly delicious. I was not sure of what to expect from Italian food in Costa Rica, but we very much enjoyed our cocktails and meal. Their adult only restaurants specifically nailed the "finer dining" in the jungle. We very much enjoyed the private excursions offered through the resort and we loved our guides. Levi was our guide on the hanging bridges, volcano and waterfall tour and was fun and knowledgeable. We also loved that our driver surprised us with delicious vanilla scented towels after our 500 step climb up from the Fortuna Waterfall. Our guide, Yahaira, for the Cano Negro Nature tour was so outstanding. She helped us to see many animals and took really solid videos and pictures on my phone for us to keep. She was so passionate and I really appreciated her focus on giving us an enriching experience. On the drive home, she offered to stop by a few stores that we were interested in and helped us communicate with the local shop owners. We bought beautiful wood pieces to bring home that were locally made. She was also the same guide that did the Saturday sloth tour on the resort, finding several in a short period of time and again making quality pictures and videos for us to keep. Lastly, The spa service at Nayara was almost 3 hours long, full of local products and so very romantic in the jungle. We both felt amazing after. We truly loved the Jacuzzi overlooking the jungle and the snacks that were served after our services. Looking back at our time at Nayara, it is literally filled with wonderful memory after wonderful memory. We couldn't be happier with this choice as a honeymoon destination.

The staff and facility at Nayara Spring are five-star in every dimension. Set in a beautiful tropical forest facing the majestic Arenal Volcano, the property immediately took us to a perfectly relaxed state of mind. Every staff member - from concierges and servers to maintenance and maids - were courteous, thoroughly professional, and skilled in prompt and effective service. Our every request - and we had few as so much of our needs were anticipated before we asked - was promptly and effectively answered. I cannot thank them enough for how well they helped me celebrate my wife's birthday! We ate on the property four of five nights. The seven-course dining experience at Amor Loco was by far the best, but every meal was tasty, well presented, and served by attentive staff. Asia Luna was a delightful surprise as we didn't expect to find delicious sushi and Asian cuisine in Costa Rica. The romantic dinner was an excellent experience in terms of ambiance and service. The food was good but not otherwise remarkable. The wine bar - with a tech-enabled self serve pouring system - was an enjoyable after dinner experience. The villa was modern, spacious, and the showers - one inside and one outside - are marvelous, as was our private secluded jacuzzi pool. Dual vanities separated by the shower is a great design feature. One could stay in your villa and pool all day, except the grounds beckoned us to walk where we saw multiple species of birds, a young sloth (!), and other wildlife. From the top of the property, you have a breathtaking view of the volcano. The property's stone walkways have steep inclines in places. It is a great place for an exercise walk or you can always call for an electric cart to take you from point to point on the property. The gym is adequate with a bench, some dumbells, treadmills, a dual pulley system, and floor space to ab or other work. The pools - plural - are luxurious but suited for lounging and chillin' out not swimming laps. Finally, you are just a few minutes away from hiking near the volcano and other outdoor activities. We had dinner in La Fortuna (Don Ruffino) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The town square is a cute space to walk, and the cafe focused on chocolate, just off of the town square, is to die for. We have had a number of five-star experiences around the world and in the USA. None better than Nayara Springs.

If you ever want to enjoy another vacation again, I recommend not booking Nayara, because there isn’t a place on earth that can compare to this resort! Perfectly situated within the jungle, you have it all. From the different pools, restaurants, spa experiences, bars, and its close proximity to La Fortuna’s town and adventures, I’m not sure what else you could ask for. We ate at every restaurant and tried every cocktail, and they did not miss a beat. The tasting menu and experience at Amor Loco was by far our favorite and a must try. The entire staff is beyond incredible, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The property is stunning. The sloths, monkeys, frogs, birds, etc. we’re so fun to watch. We WILL be back, and I can’t wait!!!

My wife and I stayed 8 nights at Nayara Springs, making it our only stop in our Costa Rica trip. The Arenal area and the rainforest are such unique features of the country that we did not want to spend time on the coasts, away from this wonderful region. We don’t regret it at all, as our stay was absolutely perfect. It started with a stress-free pick-up at the airport, a friendly driver and a comfortable private car with both wifi and AC inside. The check-in was perfectly executed by the wonderful Noelia, quickly going through the few formalities before explaining all the amenities of the resort: complimentary breakfast in any of the resort’s restaurants (not just the one of Nayara Springs), daily sloth patrol to spot these animals in liberty, complimentary activities (yoga, nature walks, visits), and so on. We then discovered our villa, spacious and luxurious but with a genuine charm, as well as its private pool filled with hot thermal water, a common feature of all accommodations. Subsequently, we spent eight wonderful days both within the resort (five excellent and diversified restaurants, five pool areas each with a different vibe, six regular bars and their own mixologists as well as an astonishing coffee bar with a secret terrace, an ice cream shop, two spas, and an incredible nature surrounding us at any given moment, with its sloths and birds roaming freely on the property) and outside (horse riding excursion and zip line tour, both with the amazing Adrían from Jacamar, the hotel’s tour operator partner). We also booked the sloth classes, the mixology class and the coffee class, all at the resort, equally amazing and strongly recommended. Any food or drink order was matched with outstanding quality, rich diversity (e.g. each bar having their own specialty cocktails) and a service always perfectly delivered. Speaking of the staff, each employee of the resort went above and beyond to make our stay even more incredible. From the golf cart drivers to the restaurants’ waiters and managers, from the front desk officers to the housekeepers and gardeners, everybody was extremely professional, always courteous but very friendly as well, striking a perfect balance rarely seen elsewhere. Their care was not only observed in our daily interactions but also with our requests, from dietary adjustments to wildlife questions and daily sloth spotting. My wife having some allergic constraints, the servers always double checked everything and the chefs always find creative and delicious alternatives, a greatly appreciated gesture. While the huge size of the resort offered plenty to do over an entire week, we never had the feeling to be with too many other guests, a prowess given the hotel was 95%+ full. The abundant vegetation and the intimacy of the accommodations greatly helped. As a final point, we could only praise the Nayara Resort - and specifically the Nayara Springs and their team - for an exceptional stay in a dream-like setting and a wonderful staff. We will definitely be back, whenever we feel the need to return to paradise.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. We splurged booking Nayara Springs for our 50th birthdays and wedding anniversary. So glad we did. It is extremely pricey but an experience you will never forget. It is worth every penny . You have your own outdoor private pool fed by thermal hot springs.. we soaked in the pool morning and night. They have multiple beautiful swimming pools throughout the resort but we never swam in them because our private quarters were so wonderful we wanted to relax there. We did a lot of hiking in the Arenal area, but honestly saw more animals here. Many from our own patio/deck! Bring binoculars. Get up early every morning to see the animals.. it is so worth it. The walking around the resort is definitely strenuous on your legs but they have golf carts you can call at all hours. The service was amazing! All the bell boys were so sweet and went above and beyond. One cart driver ( I think his name was Carlos? From Nicaragua?) showed us several types of frogs at night by a little pond while giving us a ride back from dinner. So sweet and special. I had a massage from Andrea who was amazing. The howler monkeys were screaming in the trees right next to us during my massage. Breakfast every morning, which was included, was delicious. The only improvements I can think of are the spa facilities are somewhat dated. Also, the products ( shampoo, lotions) are not five star quality. They really should include some great products for guests ( like Ojai valley inn and spa). Overall I hope to come back here! An amazing resort with wonderful employees.

As soon we found Nayara Springs, we knew it was a must to start our honeymoon trip here. It was an unforgettable experience, and it absolutely lived up to the hype and then some. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like not only guests, but family. Fernando and Marcela welcomed us and provided refreshing cold towels and cocktails, all while seamlessly handling our bags and making check-in an absolute breeze. Nelson gave us a wonderful tour of our stunning villa, making sure we knew about all the luxurious amenities. The villa itself was the perfect honeymoon retreat, with complete privacy, a private & personal hot springs pool, Arenal Volcano views, and a level of comfort that made it one of the best resorts we’ve ever stayed at. Seeing animals all over the resort was a perfect way to get the full rainforest experience. The staff did a really good job of explaining the different animals when asked. The resort is definitely walkable, however it can be easy to get lost, especially at night. But the convenience of requesting golf carts made getting around the resort effortless, and shoutout William, who always picked us up with a warm smile and great conversation. The spa experience was beyond what we imagined. Erika, Margarita, and Wendy took such wonderful care of us during our couples massage in the heart of the rainforest. Being able to bask in the sounds of the forest during a massage next to your spouse is unmatched. Afterward, we soaked in the post-massage hot tub, sipping drinks and enjoying snacks while embracing the peaceful atmosphere. A dining experience that stood out was at Amor Loco. It was our first Michelin tasting experience, and thanks to William and Robin it was an experience to remember. As it was also my wife's birthday, they made sure to make her feel special with the live musician playing Happy Birthday table side. Every dish was divine, the drinks were delicious, and they made sure every moment was perfection. Breakfast mornings at Nayara Springs were just as wonderful, with convenient deliveries directly to our door step. Shoutout to Joseph for ensuring we started each day with delicious food and impeccable service. We truly wish we could have stayed an extra few nights to enjoy the remainder of the resort. All in all, what truly sets Nayara Springs apart is the amazing staff—every single person we encountered was kind, respectful, and genuinely dedicated to making our stay unforgettable. This resort is perfect for upscale yet in the natural elements, and we cannot wait to return. If you’re considering a stay here—just know it is worth every penny. You will not regret it.

I have never been more excited to write a review! Nayara Springs is by far the best resort we've ever visited. Another reviewer said "Seriously, we don’t repeat locations often, as we are always on the hunt for new destinations to try. But we will be back to Nayara." We agree 100%! There are a number of reasons, but I'll try to reduce them to what I think are the most important. 1) Amazing Service There are so many anecdotes I can share about how amazing the service is at this resort. From the initial greeting to the warm goodbyes when we departed, everyone on staff at Nayara wants you to have a great experience at the resort. The overall complex of Nayara Springs, Nayara Tented Camp and Nayara Gardens share amenities and staff. Even though the resort complex is much bigger than I envisioned, we still felt like we were staying at a small boutique resort. The personalized service definitely is a key factor. For example, we drink a lot of water throughout the day and especially when going on active excursions like hiking. On our second day, we asked for our room to be continually supplied with 6 glass water bottles instead of the standard 4. The answer? "Con gusto!" Immediately, 2 additional bottles were delivered. On the first night, I requested a bucket of ice. It arrived within 5 minutes. On the second night, I made the same request. On each of the following nights, the housekeeper who arrived to offer turndown service noticed the previous requests and asked if I wanted ice delivered. On our last night, we were at dinner while she did the turndown service. When we returned, on the sitting area table was a cold bucket of ice, a personal touch that isn't part of the normal service. On our second night, we went to the Cielito Lindo pool bar and asked Sharon if she could make the drink we had at reception when we arrived. Though it wasn't on the menu and she said the drink was created by another mixologist, she made a quick call and made us the exact drink we wanted. One of our last mornings, we woke up late and went to the included ala carte breakfast service at Mis Amores. We only had 15 minutes to spare before a pickup for our excursion. 100% our fault for cutting it so close. Regardless, the manager on duty and our waiter scrambled to get our breakfast delivered quickly. When it was apparent we wouldn't have time to eat before having to run down to the pickup area, they boxed up the breakfast for us so we could take it to go. We noticed that the rain made our plunge pool cool down a lot from the temperature we preferred. We mentioned it once to Marcela, and she immediately made a standing request to maintenance for our pool to be re-heated each day. These all seem like small things, but they are only a few of the many positive interactions we had with the staff at Nayara Springs. Small, meaningful interactions like this add up to an overall wonderful experience. Expect to be surprised by how many of the staff remember your name, your preferences, and genuinely engage you in conversations. Make any reasonable request and you will hear the same reply over and over ... "Con gusto!" Something I noticed when reading many reviews prior to our trip was that many reviewers mentioned staff by name. We're not great with names, but Marcela, Pablo, Allen, Johan, William, Diana, Sharon, Mirian, Jessica and MANY others provided service experiences that made us remember their names. 2) Beautiful Grounds One of the other reviews I read prior to our trip said that it would be a mistake to not enjoy the resort itself. We're happy we took the advice. The grounds are truly beautiful. We felt surrounded by natural beauty everywhere we went. The architecture of the resort harmoniously blends with the surroundings. Our favorite spot outside our villa was the Termas pools. Imagine being in a large thermal pool surrounded by rainforest canopy. It was beautiful and peaceful. 3) Great Food Several other reviews said the food was just "meh". However, after eating at a couple of the top rated restaurants in La Fortuna, we both agree that the best food we had in Costa Rica was at the resort. We ordered room service twice for dinner. The service shined here again, since I was able to order an item that wasn't on the room service menu. Again, "Con gusto!" We also ate at La Terrazza and Ayla. The food was incredible and the live entertainment provided a lovely ambience. A previous reviewer who, like me, is a self-proclaimed burger snob said that the Nayara Burger was one of the best burgers he'd ever eaten. I skeptically ordered the burger knowing that it would be average at best. I was wrong. The burger is excellent. 4) Value Yes, this is an expensive resort. I don't understand why some reviewers complain about this since the resort is transparent about the pricing. I feel that the adage "You get what you pay for." rings completely true at Nayara Springs. Included breakfast is not just a couple of pastries and mediocre coffee. There are unlimited a la carte options of delicious food cooked to order accompanied by fresh Costa Rican coffee roasted onsite. Included laundry service is not limited in number of pieces or only available during certain hours. It is unlimited, returned the same day, and folded perfectly. In-room service is available 24/7, the gym is well equipped, the grounds are immaculate, the villas are stunning. When the experience matches the price tag, I call it a good value. Nayara Springs is a great value. The experience exceeds the substantial price. I've noticed that management reads and replies to each review, so I'm going to put a few things here for other travelers' benefit and as genuine feedback. These are very minor issues, but I feel worth noting. - Pre-arrival communication could improve. I had a few questions and expected contact from the resort prior to my arrival. I also wanted to book a spa reservation for my wife. I had to reach out to reservations before my stay to make sure that airport pickup, etc were arranged. The 800 number was useless so I had to call internationally. Not a big deal, but my reservation did state I would hear from the resort a week prior to arrival. I think this is a missed opportunity to extend the amazing Naraya service to guests prior to arrival. - The resort website is a miss. The website is visually appealing, but clear and concise information about onsite amenities is lacking. For instance, we were on the fence about whether or not to book a reservation at a nearby thermal pools resort like Ecotermales. We decided not to, but we were afraid that we would miss out on a nice experience. Even after returning, I can't find a simple way to navigate the Nayara Springs website to see a page that clearly explains that Springs guests have access to Termas pools at Tented Camp and that the pools are comparable to what is offered at nearby thermal resorts. Marcela provided this info at check-in, but I would have loved this information before I arrived. I think this is the case with so many of the resort amenities. I'm not sure if management is trying to build a sense of mystery or something, but clear, easy, and simple info is missing from the website. - Lastly, in-room entertainment needs an update. I know visitors to the area spend little time watching TV. We really didn't watch TV while there. But ... our visit came during the last weekend of NFL playoffs. I really would have liked a better option than an old 42" TV that didn't get any North American sports channels. Overall, we loved Nayara Springs. This was our first trip to Costa Rica and the natural beauty is breathtaking. However, the resort experience at Nayara Springs was by far the highlight of our trip. We can't wait to return. Pura vida!

What an incredible hotel! Fully deserving of it's near clean record of 5 star reviews. Amazing service, amazing detail, calm, quiet, respectful, fun. It's EVERYTHING that I thought this hotel should be given it's price tag. Amazing place, and just what we needed. The tours, though pricy, are incredible and highly worth it. They are a unique, personalised experience, rather than a tour. The food is great, the wine is great. A minor hiccup was handled excellently by the hotel, and I thank manager Steven for his professionalism. The nature and wildlife is just stunning. I miss Costa Rica already and I am still here (last day tomorrow).

Nayara Springs is an exceptional resort. There are only positive things to say about Nayara Springs, in particular our villa with the private hot spring-fed pool was amazing as were the daily breakfasts served in our room. The entirety of the resort is beautiful and meticulously maintained, the staff members are all extremely warm and attentive, and I cannot recommend Nayara Springs enough. Would definitely stay again if visiting the area.
