Nice location not on the water but walkable to Agios Prokopios. They can arrange a car for you. Breakfast was great. We had dinner the grilled octopus was delicious. They have an extensive bar, especially for whiskey and bourbon lovers. We had a share pool, which we had all to ourselves. Only issue was our coffee maker was broken and had water in it, that I cleaned out to find out it didn’t work. Would recommend.

We had reserved a room for 6 nights but left after 1 day: I had totally overlooked one tiny detail in the room presentation … “semi-shared” pool. So we were basically sharing our unit’s pool with our next door neighbors. If you swam 4 meters to the other end of the pool you’d be facing their own door, window and small patio. The pool being right off our 2 doors. Not at all the privacy and quiet that we were imagining upon reserving, reassured by the 650 EUR night rate. We basically felt besieged in our own room (which was large and came with a hip, modern design and super comfy bedding). Also, the house we were in also came, alongside our “pool-sharers”, with noises from another unit above: very poor noise insulation. After we complained, the hotel owner (whom we never met although I’m pretty sure he was sitting on the bar’s sofa when we left), proposed a deal (via the very polite manager) which we took, but averaging out the hefty total amount this was (easily) the most expensive hotel night I ever paid for (far above Maldivian levels). As for the view, yes we saw the sea in the distance but there was also another hotel unit smack in the middle of it, below ours (see pic). Friendly staff, delicious fresh and light food but again, not at all what we had in mind and absolutely not worth the price. You’ll be fine if you reserve full villas, but they’re quite close to one another, do expect noise from your neighbors. This being July in Greece, we felt very lucky to find another accommodation with a real, unobstructed seaview. And 0 noise. And a pool fully to ourselves. But I regret my money bitterly and this sad saga perturbed our vacation and very much dented my trust in Small Luxury Hotel offerings.

This is not a luxury hotel as advertised. The shower had mold all over the floor. The chair in the bedroom was peeling and was getting all over my clothes. The oven has no door on it. The linens need to be updated. Do not stay here!

Our stay at naxian collection was nothing short of amazing. For starters, the grounds are stunning and well maintained. The room was gorgeous and luxurious. The food was impeccable (we did breakfast every morning, 1 lunch on arrival, and the naxian bbq one night). But the most incredible part is the staff. Alex, Alex, Sophia, Catarina, and the rest that we did not get their names are fantastic. Truly some of the nicest and welcoming people we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. From the moment we got there, they greeted us with open arms and took care of us our entire stay. Pampered us is a better way to put it. Anything we could possibly need they were able to deliver. Their recommendations were always spot on and their interest in our day was so genuine. We’re going to miss them tremendously but we will absolutely come back. They made Naxos even better than we could have imagined.

This is a small island that lives mostly off of tourism and their local produce and ingredients which are considered some of the best in Greece. As mainland Greece, people are friendly, helpful and happy. Very proud of their country. The villas are very comfortable, spacious and airy. Not a lot of frills. The bar is impressively well stocked for a small location, and the food and the restaurant is actually very good. They take Nespresso coffee and make a very serious latte, a latte that makes you happy! Magic! And on a wind controlled day, they grill Naxian meats to perfection, counter-side! Also their coffee frappe is delectable. A lot of the staff is young and in training, so don’t hold that against them because they aim to make you happy. And they are happy doing it. However, this hotel for all that luxury in name, skimps on simple offerings such as olives and nuts at the bar or welcome reception and while it has a sister hotel by the ocean, The location that our travel agent picked for us is on a very narrow road. Not having done our homework in depth before we left home, we trusted our adventure to our vacation agency. Taxi is extremely expensive on the island, and we were not told it was better to rent a car and take care of life in your hands… But you have a serious death wish if you try to walk from this hotel into town. Cars come fast and there are no sidewalks, making for an adrenaline pumping strong. The town is barely 10 minutes down the road, or a three minute car ride. Expect to pay €20-€30 for a three minute ride. For the inconvenience, and the fact that the hotel does not have a shuttle, it cannot be a four or five star luxury location. Even though the people that work here are 10 stars in service, professionalism, attitude and personality!

We stayed at the Naxion Collection for 4 nights and were looked after from the moment we arrived with very friendly and efficient staff, who to be honest couldn’t do enough for you. Georgia was a super host and knew exactly how to look after everyone. So here it is, Naxian is undoubtedly a very nice place to stay, informal, and has Greek charm along great food. Set up high with views of the castle and port. 10 mins by taxi to the local town and the beach 15 mins walk with local bars and restaurants and it’s a great place to spend the day and also have dinner. Thank you Naxion Collection.

Only upon departure did I realise that 'distilled' was the most fitting word with which one can describe the Naxian Collection. We were met with the kind eyes of a lovely man who was present throughout our stay in all areas of the estate - at the desk, behind the bar, showing people to rooms, carrying bags, welcoming people on arrival. In the era of the surgical mask, our eyes have taken on a whole new level of importance, and this man's gaze was one of the most expressive we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. The other word that sums up our experience is 'great' because he said 'great' instead of 'okay', which, if you try it, leads to 'great' being said about 50 times a day. Without a doubt, this contributed to us feeling 'great'. The reception is a modest size, glass and stone, and the decor is lovely. It's pared back, sleek, minimalist - you can see the thought that's gone into the aura of the place. As if the loveliness of the small and personable team wasn't enough, you could even feel the presence or personality of the owner of the hotel exuding from the floor-to-ceiling shelves housing 304 whiskies/whiskeys. 'Distilled'... On arrival, we were given a drink and some suggestions of things to do in the local area - a Naxos food tour/cookery class seems to be a good shout, although we didn't have time between tanning sessions. The rooms are lovely - really, really lovely. Our room (a premium suite, I believe) was one half of the ground floor of a two-storey house. We shared a pool with our neighbour and the two rooms above us shared a pool away and to the left on a different level (the estate is cut into a hillside). We didn't see our neighbours once and had total privacy, even when swimming and sunbathing. Given the landscaping, we barely saw another room/house beyond our own, which, again, added to this feeling of being the only guests at the hotel. The surrounding views are stunning and Naxos has a host of delightful places from which you can view sunsets. Inside, our room was spacious, airy and beautifully designed. The bath, shower room/steam room and bed are sculpted from stone/poured concrete/dark, resinous material, so you feel like you're half in a suite and half in a cave. There was room service available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast was everything you could want. Fruit, juice, pastries, toast, eggs on request, tea coffee, chocolate cereal, muesli, yoghurt - all the good stuff. We're fairly low-maintenance guests, but they'd babysit your kids if you needed them too and a whole bunch of other stuff. We didn't want for anything here. It's the perfect retreat. It's quiet. It's easy to get lost from the world. You can chat either in the reception/breakfast area or at the long communal table at the patio just outside the reception, a point of community in a brilliantly private hotel. The hotel avoids the sprawling heaviness of a resort or a busy party-hotel with a communal pool. When you're there, you can't help but feel that sense of superiority that comes from having made exactly the right choice. Love, love, love.

This hotel provided a fantastic introduction to Greek island life! We stayed in a spacious one bedroom suite with beautiful views of the sea in two directions. The rooms were clean and well appointed; the shower was enormous and the kitchenette was perfectly sized to hold a few snacks and beverages. The location was perfect; a quick drive to the airport, beach, or town. However, what really made this place special was the staff! Each interaction was better than the next…whether it was the perfectly laid out breakfast or advice on how to spend our days in the island, we felt as if every need was looked after!!!
