The food is exceptional, the Australian chef working his magic especially with the fish dishes. The rooms are immaculate, the best bathroom I’ve ever seen and more towels than you can ever need! The communal pool area is beautiful and the water is warm, not as warm as the sea though! The gardens are maintained brilliantly and there’s cultural activities for those that wish to learn about Fijian life and history. We did yoga and there is a full daily list of activities including water sports, some are needing extra payment. This is a family friendly hotel, so maybe not for those allergic to children, although there is child care 0800-2000 from what we could see. Long transfer from Nadi airport (nearly 3 hours) but worth it.

I struggled on giving this place 4 or 3 stars. I decided on three because the last resort we stayed in Fiji was so much better. The reason for my low score is food was expensive and not that good and there was very little to do and what activities there were, were so expensive. We came to Fiji to snorkel and I was not able to do that at this resort. The good The view of the room was absolutely insanely beautiful. The room was huge w a huge closet to put your clothes away The room came stocked w cookie and popcorn as well as sodas and water free of charge. They gave us gifts of plug adapters and mosquito spray that is the organic kind, not heavy duty. When we arrived we got fruit platter and Champaign. This is the dry side of the island as well as windy in afternoon, this made for little to no mosquitos. I had been eaten alive at our first resort so this was a pleasant surprise. The staff is very friendly and greets w Bula. The pool chairs are very comfortable and seem to be always available. This is a family friendly resort but I never saw a child at the pool. I think they stay at kids club. The Bad The food was very expensive at dinner and the menu was too exotic for my liking. I would pay $$$$ for food if I thought I would like it but I looked at the menu daily and thought I would not like it. I am very grateful we rented a car rather than get a car service from Nadi because we found a grocery store about 10 min up the road called True Mart that had a great restaurant in it. We eat there daily. We eat a few meals by pool and they were OK. The room had a few things that should not be in a 5 star resort room, a lamp held together w electrical tape, a hamper that was really worn and a bathroom door that did not open more than halfway. This type of thing really takes away from the luxury feel. There were also some large bugs in room nightly. I am not sure how they get in but they do. There was not a lot to do. The morning Yoga was at 7 am, a little too early for holiday. The half day snorkeling tour was $850 USD and that felt too step. We did not snorkel the home reef because it was too windy to go in ocean. This is a great resort to lay around and relax if that is what you want to do. I felt that this hotel was rustic luxury, not up to true luxury standards of what have stayed in but nice.

The benefit of choosing a hotel like Nanuku is that you get a bit more of that "off the beaten path" vibe by staying outside the of the cities and more within the country side. Our travel was for our honeymoon. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we were treated well and had an enjoyable time away from home. They helped guide us to some fun activities and experiences as well to make sure we were always doing something. One thing I'll mention is that it rained heavily the first two days of our trip. Not one person at the hotel was feeling down and out about this. They did everything they could to make sure that onsite activities were able to be done even with the inclement weather. Also... a late night dip in the pool was a delightful experience with and without the rain.

We spent 2 nights here and we loved it. Our room, a 1Bedroom Garden Villa was like a sanctuary filled with lovely amenities. The bed and pillows are surprisingly comfortable, the his & hers vanity and dual showers are incredible. We loved our private plunge pool which was where we spent most of our time. The bikes are a wonderful touch and my husband made the most use of it. While the F&B offering may not be the best, it certainly was not the worst as we were still able to enjoy the drinks and food we ordered. The staff and management are fantastic and the level of personalization is remarkable (we had our names in the pool which was a nice gesture). As tourism workers ourselves, it can be overwhelming staying at hotels/resorts thus affecting our need to relax and recharge. However, at Nanuku we felt the most relaxed.
