Also enjoyed the body classes like belly dancing (wish there were more classes and a couples dancing class like salsa or two step). Also enjoyed the foam class.

I will preface this by saying I do not normally write reviews, but after sharing my experience with friends and family they encouraged me to share my experience with others who may be considering Miraval Austin. Background: I have stayed at the Lodge at Woodloch and my expectations were beyond exceeded. Miraval Austin, however, did not meet my expectations for a Spa/Wellness resort. Pros: -easy, clean, comfortable airport pick up / drop off (I believe provided by a 3rd party) -2 of the 3 spa services were phenomenal (relaxation massage and Kokoro ritual) -ladies locker room was clean and continually refreshed with new towels -request for different pillows was immediately addressed -request to turn off room's exterior light immediately addressed -consistently prompt attentive service in the dining room Cons -2 days prior to arrival we were emailed there may be noise in the men's locker room (not great, but not a deal breaker) upon arrival, we learned the men's hot tub was drained and would not be available at all during our stay -the 'quiet lounge' is not truly a quiet lounge because every half hour providers enter the room and callout their client's names thus disrupting all in the lounge (note to Miraval: why not consider a tv monitor that displays a clients name when its their time for service? or other silent method that would not constantly disturb the lounge?) -I tried to order a smoothie from the Nest, but was told they were unable to take out one of the ingredients from the menu item which did not make sense to me (the smoothie was strawberries, kale, spinach, etc) which for a wellness resort, these ingredients should all be fresh and easily left out when making smoothies, but I was told this was already pre-mixed? which did not make sense, unless it was a frozen mix of some sort which I would not expect from such a resort -the grilled chicken breast I was served at lunch tasted like it was of low quality / frozen; again, not the quality of food I would expect from a wellness resort -we called the front desk requesting more tea for our room, but never got it -there were multiple fireplaces around the resort that were off which didn't make sense because if they aren't turning them on in January when its cold and the warmth is needed, are they ever? -multiple maintenance issues: ladies outdoor firepit area dirty - cushions and ground, carpet frayed in dining room, light flickering in hot tub by the gym, missing portion of steps leading to our room (note to Miraval - probably want to fix this before someone falls and hurts themselves) -seemed that some staff members lacked training; we asked if there was a library anywhere to borrow a book and the employee we asked didn't know, then when speaking to the employee at the front desk, he was not aware that the men's hot tub was unavailable, when speaking to the front desk manager about our dissatisfaction with the men's hot tub being unavailable, she stated she did not know what was advertised on the website in terms of amenities -received the worst massage of my entire life on the last night of our stay; the therapist prefaced the massage by saying she has a heavy hand and I told her that would not work for me since I need a lighter pressure (lesson learned - I should have turned around at that point), but we proceeded and it was extremely painful to the point my neck was sore for 2 days after the massage, I told her multiple times that I needed a lighter pressure, but she was not able to provide and I got up from the table in tears, the spa ended up comping the massage, but it didn't matter because we had resort credit that then just went unused Miraval Austin completely missed the mark on providing any sort of restful / wellness for me on this stay. I was very disappointed by the overall experience and will not be returning to see if things improve.

First timer at Marival and can't wait to go again! The reflective offerings as well as the fun exercise and outdoor activities were all fantastic. The room was clean and the food was good but the staff was fantastic! We took advantage of the inclusive breakfast / lunch / dinner as well as the grab and go area called Nest that also had smoothies and coffee. I'm particular about my coffee and the La Marzocco espresso machine cracked out delicious lattes (chefs kiss) Spa services and use of sauna and quiet room were also top notch Negatives: 1. The website is not very user friendly. You have the ability to book and change your experiences and spa services but the interface is cumbersome and I could not find anywhere about other amenities at the hotel. They have two heated pools and an exercise room. But when I called to change some of my experiences the representative did not know if the pool was heated (both are) nor mentioned the exercise room 2. Plastic water bottle. At check in you are offered either a sling bag or a tote both are nice and we found very useful during our stay. However a plastic reusable water bottle? I mean I love the water fountain hydration stations throughout the property and it is a health conscious focused spa but for the cost of Mirival a stainless steel water bottle would have been better and not felt cheap

What a transformational experience. If you're looking for a truly different experience, one that emphasizes being present in the moment and releasing all current stressors, this resort is for you. I was truly in a different dimension while I was here. Sooo many wonderful classes to take here that I would've loved to stay at least a week. In the 3 days I was here, my favorite classes were Sophia Labyrinth and the cleansing ceremony. The spa was heavenly - I'm pregnant and they had so many varied and unique prenatal massages. I loved the food - very healthy and a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. this is one vacation where I knew I wouldn’t have to do a detox when I got home. In summary, I had such an amazing time. I want to come back to Miraval every year now. My next goal is to go to the Arizona one.
